1202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are people complaining about manipulation? on: April 12, 2013, 06:22:09 AM
People keep complaining about it but have no idea how anyone would even perform manipulations.

i have a pretty sound idea, after pouring over the blockchain for a couple hours along with what we all saw.

coordinated ddos attacks are just a coincidence i guess.

this is a replay of what happens to futures all the time.
1203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Greed is killing Bitcoin. on: April 12, 2013, 06:10:33 AM
Too many bitcoins were given out too easily at the beginning. Whenever bitcoin starts attracting interest there's a huge sell off that drives investment away. I guess the bitcoin economy will keep crashing down until people who got in early can cash out their million dollars.

I don't blame people who got in early, who doesn't want 500k for doing pretty much nothing? It was a design flaw. Not much can be done to fix it now.

it was intended for early miners/investors to profit.

we are seeing things in the short term because things are moving so quickly.

in a few years most of the early investors will sell off, and that wealth will be spread as the markets decides after that.

1205  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mt Gox - Completely and utterly incompetent or scamming/manipulating? on: April 12, 2013, 05:59:23 AM
outside pump and dump from vc types combined with orchestrated ddos attacks to frighten market and manipulate price through fear

these amazing events will undoubtedly bring about a great deal more of media attention. bitcoin is like a telephone, the more that people use it, the more powerful it becomes.

stock up on cheap coins.

also, every post on this forum is a very shortsighted attempt at the above, they are just using bigger toys and much much more capital.

Great idea, but if you used something other than Comic Sans for the font it would be better  Tongue
I'll delete the font from my computer. Whats the joke w/it though, I guess I missed it.

tldr version: artsy types hate it because of its simplicity and look.

i really like this though. you even managed to capture the day right before a major crash. will undoubtedly rise back though.

Contracts Sold

1211  Economy / Services / Re: hash rental idea looking for input ... please and thank you on: April 11, 2013, 02:02:49 PM
the difficulty is going to climb, though. you have to hedge against that harshly. a lot more asics are going to be running around by the end of the year.

smartest thing if the goal is btc without the side benefit of gaming rigs is to gather up everyone's cash, buy asics when they are available and cheap, and run them wherever is most secure and suitable.

keep in mind, if you are not a shitty person, you are liable for their investments.

1214  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We are victims of our own success on: April 11, 2013, 01:44:15 PM
i cannot habeeb that the lag was caused solely by traffic, and if it was, then they obviously are very behind on hardware and security for the amount the have invested.
1215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't let your right hand know what your left hand is doing. on: April 11, 2013, 01:38:20 PM

1216  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] When I was your age... on: April 11, 2013, 11:11:52 AM
Nice. But why not make it a bit more universal?

Are you talking CAD? USD? AUD? The $ means different things in different countries.

lol

I've already stopped and pulled out ALL my BTC from all the exchanges!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fvSYT7vhQY < This is what made me do it!

I'm moving to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=27055.0 Dark Exchange.

Anyone with me? I'll do anything and everything in my ability to help users join!

I am just now re-downloading I2P, so this will be the first time I try Dark Exchange. I was going to work on coding something like it anyways, why not use something that's already there?

that video and what it is quoting is hilariously fake and poorly written. it is obviously from a non native english speaker with a shaky understanding of how btc or even an exchange works.
1220  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do I get my bitcoins out? on: April 10, 2013, 06:15:02 PM
its similar to getting money out of a poker or gambling site - cannot be done quickly. you have to have your bank hooked up to your account and stuff.
