1201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A good or bad way to avoid high transaction fee? on: December 23, 2023, 04:31:28 PM
It is an altcoin that is pegged to bitcoin price. The risk is that if something happen to the altcoin, it can be depegged. The real bitcoin are the ones on the bitcoin blockchain and lightning network.

I think it's the best answer to the thread and we should not opt for this solution as it's quite risky becasue we are going to be trusting an altcoin that can loose its value anytime. I still believe that the only usable and genuine option in such high fee times is to go with lightning network.

Fortunately, the LN is now available on Binance but still it's not widely used and we can't force others to use it. Even Hhampuz doesn't considers to open lightning channels for his managed campaigns to pay the participants of his campaigns via LN route which makes LN almost not usable as of this time.

LN is not adopted by many users and still people hesitate to go with LN. The only option with us in current network congestion times is to go with an altcoin payment or send payment with Bitcoin by paying high fees.

Here's his statement:

I currently have about 300 users in total in my campaigns, opening channels for all of the campaigns and getting everyone to get on LN to accept payments seems like an incredibly annoying endeavour and not something I'd be too interested in doing right now. To be honest I'd probably prefer to pay $100-$150 out of pocket to cover tx fees rather than that, lol.
1202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Bitcoin will bring you hope and gambling will leave you destitute. on: December 23, 2023, 02:33:47 PM
The reason for sharing this incident of my local elder brother is to warn users about the dangers of gambling.
I have read the whole thread and I can say that the guy is a gambling addict and his family should take care of him otherwise he will increase the debt by putting more money in gambling. Gambling is not dangerous for everyone but the ones who get addicted to it will face such problems.

Gambling for a disciplined person isn't that bad but when someone gambles without responsibility then the result will be like the guy that you mentioned in your thread. The guy might have thought that with gambling he can earn a lot of money and that's the worst misconception anyone can have regarding gambling.

I believe a gambler should first learn about gambling responsibility and he/she should also learn that without limits and with constant losses one can get addicted to gambling and an addict would try his/her best to earn money via gambling to cover his/her losses and ends up losing even more money.

Gambling is a good activity only for the ones who are into it for the fun part of it only, the ones who are into gambling for money should understand that gambling is not a way to riches and if someone thinks that he/she can be rich with gambling then that person isn't really aware of gambling.
1203  Other / Meta / Re: Signature Campaigns in the Service Board on: December 23, 2023, 02:12:12 PM
Most of the signature campaigns and the managers who manage those campaigns have been paying people with Bitcoin but due to network congestion the fees have gone to way high levels and in such times I believe a campaign manager should pay the participants in a alternative crypto-currency.

I believe that crypto-currencies like Lite Coin, Monero, Doge Coin, Tron, or some stable coins can be used as an alternative method of payment in such times. LN is out of question for almost everyone and that's why I won't mention it but it's also a good choice in such times.

As long as the market congestion remains the managers should be allowed to pay with alternative crypto-currencies. I'm more than sure that using the above crypto-currencies as an additional  way of payment in such times won't be against the rules of the service board.

Another important thing a manager can do is to ask the participants that if they want to get paid in Bitcoin and wait for some hours or days because of the huge fees of the network or they may prefer to have their payments in alternative crypto-currencies. I believe both of those approaches should be allowed and they should be applied in such times.
1204  Other / Meta / Re: BCT vs BTT abbreviation for this forum on: December 22, 2023, 07:08:03 PM
This thread inspired me a lot and now I don't prefer any abbreviation or short form of Bitcointalk, I simply use the full name "Bitcointalk" when I tell someone about it. I think we all should prefer to use full name of the site instead of using those abbreviations.
1205  Economy / Services / Re: Friendship service for BTC. Do you need a friend to speak to, confide in? on: December 22, 2023, 01:30:32 PM
genuine friendship
I don't think this means what you think it does. If you need to pay for it, it's not friendship. It's acting.
I agree with LoyceV that such friendship can't be considered as genuine friendship because a true friend doesn't need to get paid to be your friend. A loyal friend need just you nothing else and it's hard to have such friends these days and if someone as such friends I will consider him lucky.
1206  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casinos not asking for KYC to register and play, but do require it to withdraw on: December 22, 2023, 12:17:03 PM
political games cannot be eliminated, especially in gambling, maybe the police will play with those who have a lot of money, it's just that if we don't KYC our personal data will be a little safe and most people refuse to give KYC to gambling platforms
Why would police play with the ones who have a lot of money? I don't think that police has anything to do with the gambling, it would be an out of topic thing. In face as long as we don't share our personal data with anyone especially for KYC purpose then we still have some privacy but when we continue sharing our personal details for KYC verification then there will be no privacy at all.

All of the gambling sites especially the known ones require a form of KYC these days and unfortunately we will have to complete KYC verification willingly or unwillingly. If you want to go for online gambling then be ready for the KYC if you're a high-roller gamblers otherwise you don't have to worry much about KYC.
1207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mempool Observer Topic on: December 22, 2023, 12:03:49 PM
dont point fingers at miners.
I'm not pointing any fingers toward miners, in fact I believe that they deserve to have some extra fees sometimes as a reward for their contribution to the Bitcoin network. The high fees aren't caused by miners, those are caused by the ordinals.

I'm not against the miners nor I'm against the developers as they're also trying to fix the issues. it's an issue in the network that we all are facing and we all should work as a community to solve the issue. I hope that the developers will soon find a solution for the issue.
1208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mempool Observer Topic on: December 22, 2023, 11:46:24 AM
Miners must be loving it right now!
Yeah, the miners are getting huge rewards in the form of those high fees and they definitely should be loving to see those high fees, but they deserve to have those fees for their contribution in running of the Bitcoin network.

I'm happy to see this thread as we can discuss about the high fee issue here rather than creating new threads about high fees every here and there. I think OP has thought a better solution to bring all those fee related issues in a single thread. Let's discuss about the fees here from now on.
1209  Economy / Reputation / Re: Darkfighter - A scammer who uses alt accounts. on: December 22, 2023, 11:41:44 AM
Well, he certainly does not deserve any forgiveness but having said that I am somewhat confused about why he seems to be focused on asking forgive for just two of his accounts. If there was a shred of honesty in his character, he would state the names of all the accounts in the industrial scale account-farming process (and there seem to be a lot).
An account farmer like him should definitely have so many accounts and the strange thing I have noticed is that all of those accounts have earned almost zero merits in 2 years and one of those accounts is more than 3 years old. I haven't checked their posts because I'm quite sure that most of those accounts were created to cheat bounties. However, it's strange that for this long the guy has been active to cheat the bounties.

The user has said that all those accounts are controlled by different people from same area which is another lie to hide his scam. The account Razib13 has been registered in 2020 and it has 1078 activity on it and I think that account is somehow important for him and that's why he's asking for forgiveness. I don't believe that an account with 1000 activity with 0 merits is anything important but the guy may had different plans about the account and that's why he is attached to it.
1210  Economy / Gambling / Re: What do you want to see in casino reviews? on: December 22, 2023, 11:20:40 AM
I would suggest you to test a casino platform for 2-4 days and test each and every feature of it. Get familiar with all features and games that the casino is offering and gain as much information about the site as possible. When you have complete data about the casino and your testing is complete then start writing your review.

I believe a personal feedback with detail explanation is the best type of review that I want to read, and when I'm interested in a casino I would love to read in detail about it via a review not just a 300 words feedback that doesn't gives any details about the platform.
1211  Economy / Gambling / Re: Slot Educational on: December 22, 2023, 07:45:31 AM
This is just a matter of preference, there are those that may prefer to gamble with slots at a physical casino due to the whole environment there and the people they can meet at that place.

However it is undeniable that there are many other people that prefer to gamble online as the advantages are also significant, like gambling whenever you want, being able to make smaller bets, not having to spend anything on food or parking and having a wider variety of slots to play.
Yeah, some people prefer to play slots at physical casinos because they find that environment a kind of fun and they love the gathering, but most of the players these days prefer to gamble online because it's fun to play slots online without going to a physical casino.

The ones who prefer to not show their face while playing slots will always go for the online casinos but those who want to be famous and want to meet new people will always choose the traditional route by going to physical casinos.

The benefit with online casinos is that they can be accessed from anywhere but the physical ones can't be accessed on place where they aren't available. I would say that in current days one should choose online casinos instead of going with the physical ones.
1212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Argentina has officially approved the agreement to legalize the use of Bitcoin on: December 22, 2023, 06:49:07 AM
I'm happy to see that a country like Argentina is going to accept Bitcoin as a legal tender. I believe that when they officially accept Bitcoin as a legal tender then we may see some pump in the price of Bitcoin. When the bull market is going on such news always helps to have more positive actions towards Bitcoin adoption.

I think the president of Argentina Javier Milei will play his role as a Bitcoin enthusiast and we may soon see Bitcoin to get legal status in another country. I believe that the rest of the world should learn from El Salvador, Central African Republic, and now Argentina, that Bitcoin is a valuable currency and it should get legal status.

1213  Economy / Reputation / Re: Darkfighter - A scammer who uses alt accounts. on: December 22, 2023, 06:24:47 AM
nutildah Sir forgive me for the last time, You are my boss and you can forgive me if you want, I hope you forgive me one last time.

Finally forgive me one last time and take me off the red trust from my ID.
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Don't ask for forgiveness because you don't deserve that. You have scammed an innocent investor and now you're asking Nutildah to remove the tag from your profile. I highly agree with @albon and @nutildah that the guy they have exposed is a cheater and if a cheater gets another chance then he will continue cheating other innocent investors like Bob.

I request all investors to kindly never send payment directly to someone when you can contact the escrow of the group in this case @albon. I hope in future investors will not make such mistakes. I'm sorry for your loss Bob, but I hope you'll be careful next time.
1214  Other / Meta / Re: 2FA added on: December 21, 2023, 08:04:47 PM
You have done a great job Theymos by adding that feature into the site. We'll should be thankful to PowerGlove who devoted his time to make that feature possible on the forum. I believe it's one the best features we all wanted to have and thanks to theymos and PowerGlove for adding that to the forum.
1215  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 21, 2023, 07:59:40 PM
I like making money while sleeping.  Smiley
I like making money in both states: Sleeping and Waking! Ah, sure it's fun to make money when you're sleeping but it's also fun to make money when you are waking. Waking money comes from trading, while sleeping money comes from investing. I think we need both of those if we want to earn money in both states!
1216  Economy / Gambling / Re: Responsible gambling on: December 21, 2023, 05:30:04 PM
From the first point I made I said you should always stake what you can afford to lose but it's important to
Take regular breaks especially when your losses are more than your wins.give yourself time to recover cause it's all about maintaining a healthy balance...I hope this helps someone out there
Although, you're right in your approach of promoting gambling responsibility but I think we have similar topics in this board and it's nothing new. I would still say that a gambler should read this thread and learn something from it. It's always better to allocate a percentage of your earnings for the purpose of gambling, I would also say that 1% to 4% is more than enough for gambling purpose, and if someone adds more than that then the losses can be higher if luck isn't in that gambler's favor.

I believe that if a gambler losses a lot in a day then that gambler should take a break of two to five days, and then try his luck once again by placing some bets at slow pace. If the same gambler continues to gamble even if losses are way more than wins then such gamblers will either get addicted to gambling or they will end up loosing everything and their account gets empty in no time. It's very important to be a responsible gambler and never ever consider gambling as a quick way to get rich.
1217  Economy / Services / Re: Compliance solutions on: December 21, 2023, 05:19:13 PM
I represent, a leading KYC solutions provider. If someone is interested in discussing about business that requires KYC solution
So you're saying that you're trying to help others to complete their KYC with fake KYC details?

You think that people at this forum are looking to cheat others and they may use those fake KYC details?

If yes, then you're in a wrong place, on this forum we don't like such services which provide fake details to cheat online systems and it's against those users privacy whose documents you people give to complete someone's KYC in the fake way.

I would recommend everyone to avoid such services at any cost.
1218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin miners extorting people that are making transaction? on: December 21, 2023, 04:55:08 PM
He said that miners are extorting people.
Tell him that miners are not extorting people because the network congestion is a network related problem and miners have nothing to do with it. The miners aren't doing anything to harm the Bitcoin community but those useless ordinals have caused congestion in the network and the miners have their limits which they can't cross.

There are more than 354,110 unconfirmed transactions at the moment of writing this post and the number is growing. Currently, the low priority transaction fee is 353 sat/vB and the high priority transaction fee is 531 sat/vB and that's why the miners aren't accepting the transactions that have no priority, I mean the ones with low fees. I'm sure that the network congestion will end soon and we may have good transactions once again.

The users who want to have their transactions in high priority mode are paying very high fees and if a miner is getting high fee for a transaction then why would he include the low fee transaction in the next block? The system is getting out of control and I believe the whole blame should not be put on the shoulders of the miners.

The users are also increasing the fees to have faster transactions. We should have to find an alternative way for the transactions at the moment, I believe in current network congestion times we may move towards the alternative coins that have low fees, and when network's congestion ends then we can again have Bitcoin transaction or we may move towards LN as that's also a possible solution.

1219  Economy / Services / Re: We Build Sites with Thousands (!) of Articles on: December 21, 2023, 03:59:21 PM
you will end up paying less than $1 per article if you snag one of our discounts and order a decent package.
Are you going to provide human written content in those articles or the articles will be AI generated content? I don't think that a human is going to be writing a full article for $1, I know that there are people who will accept to write an article for $5 on sites like Fiverr but I don't believe that a good content writer is going to write an article for just $1 dollar.

Can you show us some proofs that how good are those articles? I would also like to know that are those articles AI generated or they're written by human writers? It would be great if you can share some samples with us.
1220  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Cfoptionnetwork - Ponzi scheme on: December 21, 2023, 02:28:54 PM
I have just supported the flag, thank you for finding the scammer. I believe it's a good way to find a report such scammers so everyone will be safe from their trap. I'm laughing at the scammer because anyone with insanity would create a domain name like that. I'm quite sure that no one would fall for his scam but still it's quite good to report such scammers so anyone who aren't aware about such scams will not fall for those scams.
