Newbs beware. That article is a shill piece made to trick you to invest your BTC into that mixer. If you really want to invest some, there are more reputable services out there. The ironic thing is, investing in BTC casinos and gambling sites are better because they are the most honest.

I want to start trading on Poloniex again but I want to know if the delays with withdrawals are fixed. I havent seen any new threads complaining about them, so is it safe to assume that everything is safe and good with them?

He's likely talking about comments made by crowtec (sp?) shortly before they dropped out of BURST.
Yeah this. What happened there and why did they drop out of Burst? Rico, yes please do enlighten us. I know I may have made some mistakes in my comments but I would welcome be thankful of any comments that would correct those mistakes. It would also be to the benefit of the people who come to the thread. Ty.

How do altcoin developers have their coin listed in HitBTC? Is there an application and selection process or something like that? Does the exchange listen to the community and let them have a vote on what coin is listed next?
I heard that some exchanges require payment to have a coin listed. Is this also the same with HitBTC?

Nice website, very useful for traders and investors alike. Your logo needs a little work but the site itself is looking good and all whats needed to be seen and read are all there.
You should start telling everyone in the altcoin forum about it. Maybe soon each representative from a project can have an account in your site and post their own announcements in the calendar.

Why would it be impossible for him to know about BURST prior to that "white paper" of his?
On the other hand, if he DID know about BURST prior to publishing his "white paper" then he's little more than a ripoff.
Im sure he did but it was maybe good that he didnt mention anything about Burst if he didnt have anything good to say about it. There were some developers who said that Burst's Proof of Capacity algorithm is broken to the core. Maybe its better to give the PoCC more time to fix the core problems before marketing the project again.

Use a light wallet for whatever coin if its available. Use the Jaxx wallet, Exodus wallet and Coinomi. Those three are the most trusted multicoin wallets by the community as of today. There might be others but those three are the best for me. But be careful with Jaxx, your seeds are not encrypted by your pass key, so be sure to have your PC or mobile device secure or store your Jaxx files in a USB.
If you have no other choice, download the blockchain.

In Philippines a lot of vendors now accept btc for their goods.
But do people buy their goods using BTC in the Philippines? Please share the data on how many transactions per month that store receives in BTC compared to the transactions in cash and other banking means like debit and credit cards. I would say that 99.9% of those transactions received would be cash and debit/credit cards. So it makes BTC acceptance almost useless for the store.

Its easy to think of ideas for project that you think the community needs and at the same time you think are good and applicable. But it comes down to execution. Once you start acting on the idea, its then that you discover that your ideas werent that good after all, or worse, it wasnt really new and unique.

HitBTC, can you add Burst in your exchange? It would be a good addition for a growing exchange like yours. Burst is the only coin out there that can be mined using your hard drives and for that it makes it very unique. They also now have a new group of developers that call themselves the Proof of Capacity Consortium. They will be responsible in coding new wallets and an easy to use software for mining.
New implementations using other programming languages other than Java is also coming.

Those comments slamming Bram Cohen came from the members of the Burst community who got salty because Burst wasnt given any credit for being the first coin to use Proof of Capacity. Thats fair. But what was the reason why he chose to ignore Burst? It would be very impossible for him not to know about it.

Hello, I'm currently using Bitstamp as a mean for exchange. But because they don't record profit/loss for my order I want to change to another exchange. That have the feature to record the profit/loss
Anything suggestion all? my preferred trading is USD/ETH or USD/BTC
Hope the suggestion is the one you had experience with
You can record your profit and loss yourself. Bitstamp is still one of the best and trusted exchanges out there for BTC/USD and ETH/USD trading. Dont make one missing feature make you take the risk of moving to a less trustworthy exchange. But from the exchanges suggested here, Kraken is also good.
|
|
|
Why not? Burst is an open source project, and Bram Cohen is an open source developer who wants to disrupt the established order. He is doing it with Bittorrent right now.
Im sure a peer review of the code from him will be apprecitated by the Burst community and the developers.
He recently released a paper, which seems to be one part of whatever they are working on. Lots of people from Burst were quick to slam it. Where were they slamming Bram Cohen? I looked for it in Burst's subreddit but I couldnt find it. Maybe theres only a small faction from the Burst community who couldnt accept that theres a better impelentation of Proof of Capacity out there. What about the developers, what did they say?

Oh please. Banks dont suck, they are in fact the very institution thats making life very convenient for you. The real reason why we think BTC is better is because it can make us rich if the value goes up! Banks cant and wont do that for you.

Ty for the warning. After years and years of being exposed to scams on the internet, I dont think the people of this forum especially will fall for an obvious phishing scam like that. The victims that do must really be idiots.

I have no idea if casino will ever accept bitcoin as exchange for chips that is used in gambling.
You mean brick and mortar casinos? Why would they want to accept BTC? It would be very bad for them because its value always fluctuates in the market. Thats why most of us are holding it as an investment and seldom use it to buy something with it. Its also an unregulated currency in most countries. Thats a big nono for regulated casinos.
|
|
|
They didnt before. But now with cryptocurrencies becoming more and more popular, it would be safe to say that they will soon. If Bittrex wants to be in the good side of the regulators, they should start doing some KYC procedures on their customers starting now. Get your ID and other documents ready.

Quoting your post for the record and thanks for providing us the threads. I would like to add that there is a very small user base for Strongcoin wallet, and the people that did use it had problems. Let that serve as a warning for other newbs to avoid it.

Has anyone heard of issues with StrongCoin tonight? Site has the BitCoin price at $0.00. Wallet value is also 0, but the amount of btc coin in my wallet is correct. Transactions are not going thru, even to another wallet within StrongCoin. Any ideas? Thx in advance for your help.
A big red flag for this wallet. At the bottom of their page it says Copyright 2011 - 2017 StrongCoin.com all rights reserved. But if they were really operating since 2011 then why is this wallet not known to the community? Im not also aware of a service announcement thread opened by their team. They have a Twitter account, https://twitter.com/strongcoin. Try leaving comments there to make it more public.
