12001  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Brexit deal passes the European Parliament. 621 - 49. on: January 31, 2020, 01:09:45 PM
british pound will become gradually more and more worthless british oligarchs will cut down human and worker rights more and more, eu will get rich, of angolo colonial labour that will flee their nations to get a job in eu thats whats going to happen

you really got no clue..

ok some lessons for you.
1. if exchange rate change from say $1.30/£1 to $1/£1 it will become more expensive to convert out money to go to usa/eu but it becomes cheaper for US/EU to move here. it also becomes cheaper for foreign companies to use us.
EG US company stops using irish call centre/customer service department and hires a british call centre
thus job creation

2. importing is bad for economy. so while some people doomsday that a change in value of the exchange rate =death.. i see it as a benefit
if aberdeen angus beef cost an american £16/kg and the uk/us exchange rate was $1.30/£1.. it would cost america $20.80
if the exchange rate turned to $1/£1 it would cost america $16 for the same piece of meat. this means we can sell more meat to usa because its cheaper for them... yep thats right we get to sell more to america.
or we can charge americans the same $20.80 meaning we get £20.80/kg instead of £16

3. the "tarrifs" of things like cheese, champagne, belgium chocolate are not going to be 300%.. its going to be 6-12%. the UK is used to swinging prices of 20-50% all the time. heck i have seen the price of milk in one year go from £1 to £1.50 for 4 pints. and we just pay it would thinking about it.

4. by not being limited by EU farming 'quotas' we can have our own quotas and start farming again. instead of importing. yep farming and exporting is ecnomic benefit. as shown in example 2

5. as for the chlorinated chicken fear. as shown in example 2 and 3 and 4. it becomes better to farm our own chicken instead of importing meat from other countries
12002  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Peter Schiff is a PIN head. on: January 31, 2020, 12:50:55 PM
simple explanation is schiff tried to blame the dollar for why he cant log into paypal after losing his paypal login ability

basically its not a bitcoin problem, but a custodial service/centralised wallet service business problem. where custodial services should have reminders and tutorials as part of their wallet.
after all most average joe dont use full nodes so its more of the lite wallet users that need to learn some basics

and maybe even changing the buzzwords to more common/average joe terms to make these wallets more user friendly for the non technical

maybe call these custodial services 'pockets' as the term 'wallet' is not an accurate word. you dont hold coins in a bitcoin wallet you hold keys and the signing ability

and teach people to know how to keep their seed/privkey.. 'keyring' from being lost by storing a second copy of the key elsewhere away from the pocket
12003  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If I want to explain to a 10 years boy.what is blockchain?How should I explain? on: January 31, 2020, 05:52:38 AM
It is actually very easy to explain it to him. You can first tell him how Banks record all transactions on a centralized database and then explain to him that in Bitcoin, there are no Banks to record all transactions that are done by the people using the technology.

Satoshi Nakamoto then created software that can be installed on many users computers all over the world, that will collectively share a copy of all transactions that are done by the people using this technology. This is called the Blockchain, because like in a chain, a group of transactions are grouped together in a Block and then that Block is linked to the previous Block to form a chain of all transactions that were done previously. < This is then called a decentralized technology, because all the data are not stored in one centralized database >

I explained it like this to my kids and they understood the whole concept.  Wink

the topic is not about bitcoin
the topic is not about cryptocurrency

the topic is about blockchain.. blockchains are not just currency stuff.. blockchains is the security framework of data. what data is in a block can be anything. whether its financial, identity, DNS, file name, patent logs, law records.. blockchains can have anything.
so to explain blockchains. its best to just explain blockchains and then as a separate lesson if the kid asks. then talk about more specific examples.
12004  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin protocol be changed to allow for a larger supply? on: January 31, 2020, 05:48:43 AM
the btc code is not measuring the tokens in BTC. infact the code is measuring it in 'satoshi's'

the 'btc' is just a basket term for 100,000,000 satoshis.

the core team of devs are actually thinking of changing things to actually have 1000x more tokens per btc basket name.

yep 100,000,000,000 tokens per btc instead of 100,000,000
though this can cause alot of problems and alot of possible bugs and issues. they still want to try it one day.

i fond it absolutely foolish to do this. as much as i find it foolish to increase the number of 'btc's' which previous teams talked about doing years ago.

things should stay as they are with BTC remaining with a 21mill BTC limit and each BTC having 100mill sats.

2.100,000,000,000,000 tokens splitable/sharable currently is more than enough
12005  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If I want to explain to a 10 years boy.what is blockchain?How should I explain? on: January 31, 2020, 05:24:31 AM
take a chapter of a book and give it a title
reference that title in the next chapter so that you link the chapters together.

now a block is a chapter. it is just lots of information. and the chain is linking of the chapters
hense block chain... (linking blocks of information)
..
now to get more complex. the chapter title is not randomly chosen. its a math/word puzzle by combining all the information of the chapter to create its title
a very simple example is.
if chapter ones title was 'alice slept well' and the story was 'one night alice had a nice dream and woke up refreshed' .. well if you change the information to bob instead of alice. then the title becomes 'bob slept well'

chapter two would include just the 'alice slept well' reference not the whole chapter story, meaning the story in the second chapter would not work if the second chapter talks about alice but someone changed the first chapter to bob.
so by referencing the first chapter in the second chapter means the second chapter makes it harder to change the first chapter without having to also change the next chapter.

and this repeats for each chapter. the more chapters there are the harder it becomes to change the first chapter without it  breaking the story.

...
this then makes it easy to check the story to the chapter titles to make sure its all valid. and also then be able to check friends versions of the book to make sre they have the same edition of the story as you.

making it very quick to know that everyone has read the exact same story
12006  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Brexit deal passes the European Parliament. 621 - 49. on: January 31, 2020, 04:53:06 AM
UK is not bothered

UK will still trade with europe. just like UK trades with america, africa, asia without having to declare themselves as american african or asian.

as for working and living.. many asians and americans live and work in the uk.. and so will europeans.

the big change will be the LAWS. in previous years UK had to use an EU supply chain of certain standards. and in some cases for instance medication. this limited what sourcing of medications the UK could supply hospitals.

some of the limitations were stupid and done just for private profit. but now the UK can start to search out other suppliers that meet UK standards, which many countries will have.

alot of people think that UK will drop alot of standards and start allowing toxic food/medication. but it wont. UK does have high standards and in some ways higher standards than the EU and the UK understand where the EU made stupid rules about standards where the standards were not in question.

yes some things will change but not for the worse. and if you think that we have totally cut off ties with the EU then you are wrong. we survived before 1940's without an EU and we can survive again. the UK is a commonwealth. we have trade ties with other countries such as australia, canada and such. so we are not just a small insignificant island.

but anyway its the 31st of january. i just looked outside my window and it all looks the same. non of the apocalyptic doomsdays have happened.
12007  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Democracy is dead and doesn't work!!! what about a one party system? on: January 31, 2020, 02:59:20 AM
3) "White" which mean you don't vote for A or B
In the past "white" was counted, but many years ago we said "ok now we will not count it".

small corection.
france has blanc.. which although does english translate to white. it also references BLANK

they leave the vote blank, not white (in modern english terms)
12008  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it wrong to monetize a bitcoin/cryptocurrency seminar/meeting? on: January 30, 2020, 09:54:50 AM
options are.
at the meetup. you set the agenda. make it a broad laymans overview. ensuring you make it known you want a 'quick basics q&a session' rather than a  lengthy tutoring service.

and then if they have deeper questions beyond a 'elevator pitch' 30second explanation. then you can either:
direct them to this forum and tell them to search for the answers for free
tell them about 1-to-1 tutoring and its hourly costs

in other businesses/models. they hold a free open meetup. of the broad overview. and then promote other dates for technical seminar, economic seminar. which are paid to enter

emphasising the difference between the quality of a meetup (coffee and chit chat) vs professional teaching session.

but one main thing about montising things.
just be sure to know what your talking about and that it is accurate. otherwise if people feel like you have fooled them or told them something wrong. you can end up spending more time dealing with complaints than anything else.
bitcoins very own 'core' team make it very well presented that they do coding an technical discussions voluntarily for the very purpose of not becoming personally liable for bugs/issues they cause.
12009  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-01-19] Peter Schiff Says Owning Bitcoin (BTC) Was 'Bad Idea' After Losing on: January 30, 2020, 09:43:29 AM
peters problem is not a bitcoin problem. its a custodial service problem

i think if someone bought some of peters digital gold. but lost their email access or verification. they too would not have a easy way to get their gold back.

though custodial services are made to make things easier. they are not good at communicating the important parts.
many banks reqire people to submit ID and email and home address. not just for KYC regulations. but as a backup proof of ownership should someone forget their password.
yet some online FIAT services just ask for username password and email.
and yes people have actually lost money in paypal by losing access to their email and then forgetting their password.

as for crypto custodial services, they need to make saving seeds as a critical function of application/signup. with occassional reminders. and not just be a 'username''password''pin' system

i would much prefer custodial services to use KYC for the personal safety and service of its customers, rather than just a regulatory overwatch policing against its customers.

i think the best way to achieve such tasks is to simplify and buzzzword the things like 'keys/seeds' into something much more common.
EG: seed/key=crypto social security number or crypto birth certificate. to emphasise the importance to hold onto it for life and not hand it out freely
12010  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Democracy is dead and doesn't work!!! what about a one party system? on: January 30, 2020, 08:33:41 AM
china dont have a "one party" system.
as thats tyranny

china are less and less communist and becoming more capitalist/socialist as time goes on

they have semi-autonomic area's and places like hong kong that follow different rules.

i think that there should be a system which has independant states/zones/area's. and when there is a basic law that all states agree on. then that is a national law

take for instance the UK where at the moment its everyone votes, and whatever  the 650 area's is voted on. then stupidly all 650 area's have to follow the rule of the majority.

instead what could be done is whatever vote each of the 650 area's get. that individual area's policy follows of that area's vote. for instance cities will obviously be more conservative(capitalist) and rural area's would be more labour(socialist)

its kind of like usa.. where for instance NY is capitalist. and florida(the retirement state) is more socialist
but where the national government(unlike usa) is not their to govern/override the area's laws. but instead support them

that way taxes can be more aimed at the area's that mean alot to the people in that area
the reason i say this is because 'federal' taxes(in usa case) end up just going to buy mansions for politicians in washington rather than being a back-up for individual states

in recent history. usa feds have used FEMA to buy up PEOPLES land on the cheap. sell it at profit to their rich buddies and then use the profits for activities not related to the state that they made profit from.

technology does make it possible to make a more decentralised democracy work. but a 'one party' system is just ripe for abuse
12011  Other / Politics & Society / Re: First he Divides America, and now he divides the world (Middle East Peace Plan). on: January 29, 2020, 10:47:47 AM
though i detest trumps mentality. i also find media's wording very specifically chosen

things like in the OP's bbc link, saying Mr. Trump instead of 'president'
in previous presidents they said president obama and president bush not mr bush or mr obama

anyway. anything trump says has to be passed by the nation (senate) so all i can see is the senate try delaying anything trump proposes for another 11 months and hope someone else gets elected in so that they cn veto anything that is deemed as a dumb trump plan
and it seems media is already trying to sideline trump as just a man and not a president by not using the formal title when describing him.

but hey with november approaching i wonder what trump will plot to try and win people over in a hope to stay in place. or what foolish things to do to ensure he is not elected because he has had enough
12012  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's over $9000! on: January 28, 2020, 02:36:08 AM
I look forward to the day when we don't dip below $9,000 again. Will it be this time?

China panicking about the corona virus

1. the main support (efficient mining cost) is still around the $6k range. so still $3k of speculative variance to go down if actual bad news hit or other stuff. so nothing strongly supporting a stay above $7k or $8k so even $9k aint secure.

2. corona virus and bitcoin are not linked. people are not mad panicking to buy bitcoin in china due to it. .. if anything its westerners getting stupidly excited and speculative over nonsense and its the west that is buying up coins.

so dont put all your eggs in one basket just yet hoping for a secure/guaranteed new bottom . it can still go either way

12014  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New Body Of Control? on: January 27, 2020, 02:16:23 AM
government wont care what currency it is. if they charge 20% on income of any currency then
when you have 100tokens - 200 goes to government
use800 to pay bills - 160 goes to government from the utility company
pay utility workers  - 128 goes to government from their salary

government still ends up getting nearly 50% of tokens. whether the currency is public or private. if people are told to pay 20% of any income of any form. they wont care the source of the income. they only care about the 20%

..
after the great recession of the previous century local communities wanted to be anti-gov and set up their own local law providing protection and business opertunities.. these were called mobs.

this could happen again but this time lets hope we are more civilised to have mobs/cartels that have some ethics and standards if they want to run local communities

...
we will never get a "one world order" / 'one world currency' situation. . the actual thing to think about is the opposite. the decentralisation of communities
12015  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ethical Standards: Rich People & Large Companies Donating to Political Parties on: January 27, 2020, 01:52:11 AM
if you tried to stop it by having politicians sign a 'conflict of interest' contract where they cannot have any form of other job/other investment aside from their government salary then big-business will simply promise them a job at the end of their political career.

if you tried to prevent politicians from entering the corporate world after politics. then thats like saying that students who went to state schools can only work for government roles the rest of their life. or saying a state funded doctor cant work in private hospitals. state teachers cant do private tutoring. public transport workers cant then work for a private trucking company..
.. in short it just wont happen

as for things like limiting donations. well if someone can only get $10k per 'business' then 10 board members wont agree to write 1 business cheque for $100k. but instead each board member would write 1 personal cheque each for $10k

..
my problem with politics is that politicians seem to have a heck of alot of spare time to affiliate themselves with others. they dont actually work  40 hour week 48weeks a year doing political stuff. the whole attendance rate of things like US senate and UK parliament is poor. imagine if amazon had 650 staff on contract. and most days on average only 100 turned up. whilst amazon didnt do anything about it and the workers excuse was they were doing other things.. most rational employers would sack them and employ someone more loyal to the job role requirement

Around 50 people have died so far,in country with a population over 1.3 billion. Can this be considered "many people"?
^ this guy gets it

oh and in the same ~10 days.. 7000+ people died in china due to road collisions.. so should people abandon roads and are road accidents going to affect the btc price.......... um no

56=corona
7000=car

no one is fearing the car
12017  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: The dimensions of SpaceX’s Starship 1 and 2 and Mars colonization on: January 25, 2020, 05:25:21 PM
elons 'boring' project is cheaper than above ground hyperloop

why?
simple. he doesnt have to buy the land. he doesnt need to deforrest, compensate displacement. doesnt then need to get architects and land surveyers to cost out leveling it. doesnt need all the stuff like bridges and other infrustructure.

he just drills a hole underground at no land vale cost less paperwork. less butting heads with people.

ofcourse once he has an effiecient drill. he can make alot of money by multiplying projects. just like hi space project. he is not interested in nasa's mission once on mars. he just interested in making a cheap way to get people to where they want

even his mega battery farm will make things cheaper. im from the UK and even the UK is developing battery farms for electric. that way when there is excess. its not lost. meaning it solves the supply demand when production supply is low. as they have stored supply.
elons not interested in being the top electrical company. he just wants to lease batteries and let others do ll the 'trading' stuff

so  if you want to be the next elon musk. think of something thats normally expensive and not well government funded because of the expense. and think of a way to do the job cheaper. then make and lease that idea to others for their projects

next projects i can see happening in the future that will revolutionise things.
1. desalinating sea water
2. small yardage high yielding farming
3. actual affordable housing construction
12018  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: The dimensions of SpaceX’s Starship 1 and 2 and Mars colonization on: January 25, 2020, 03:17:28 PM
Haven't they found a habitable planet? It's only 100 light years away. Elon would need some big batteries to send an electric rocket there. Smiley

or solar panels.

anyway elon wants to be the uber of transportation. and the governments engineet for cheap machanics.
imagine the euro tunnel costing 21bill. and then elon coming along and saying he can make eurotunnel 2 for less.

or other tunnels made cheaper than bridges
12019  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Prince Harry's break with the Royal Family is a historic event...! on: January 25, 2020, 06:56:51 AM
It's somehow destined to happen, I mean meghan being outcast by their family is something he didn't want to be felt by his wife. If these decision will let them realize what it's like to be normal and to be by themselves it's a big help for their own small family being independent.

they were not outcast by the family.

infact they are still a happy family and the queen likes meghan..
its just a change in the employment contract.

they still have family life with the queen and other members. its just the 'royal duties' (the job) thats in question
12020  Other / Off-topic / Re: Mirror universe on: January 25, 2020, 06:39:12 AM
time is not a force of energy that can go backwards or forwards. its a human invented concept.

earth spinning backwards does not mean we get younger. it just means that sun rises from the west instead of the east.
walking backwards does not mean we can undo past incidents. it just means not seeing where your going

and no life does not begin as rotting flesh in a coffin.. and life does not end as gestation in a womb

'time' has no linkage to direction or speed. time is just a human concept
