12021  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years? on: March 15, 2016, 05:52:20 PM
Depends on how much bitcoin is worth in 20 years, I am pro-bitcoin so I would say it would be around $2000-$3000 dollars and therefore would require around 300-500 bitcoins to retire.

I am also pro-bitcoin my my estimation is a bit more optimistic. In 20 years Bitcoin will be at least $10,000 (I think it will cost more than that but I'm saying at least).

So IMO to retire in 20 years you'll need 200-300 Bitcoins depending on your demands.
12022  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cheap electricity for mining Bitcoin on: March 15, 2016, 05:44:46 PM
Is there anywhere where people are using solar panel miners to run miners with them ?

Yes, if you browse through this mining section than you will find related information. Since electricity is quite expensive in most of the countries, only option now left is utilize solar power to mine bitcoins but it needs initial investments higher than normal mining methods.

Exactly! And that's why it is almost impossible to have ROI with solar panels. Many people in those threads are talking about it. Only if you manage somehow to get solar panels free or for very low price (mybe used ones?) you might consider using them.
12023  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is there a "West"? Is the "West" responsible for all the troubles of the world? on: March 15, 2016, 05:33:35 PM
If the West was responsible for all the troubles, where have all the troubles gone to in Japan?  China?  Russia?  Chile?  Germany?   Alaska?

If there is a "West" that is the great evil, where is it and who is it?

If "the West" is responsible for all the trouble in Iraq, why is there no trouble in Japan or Germany?

Does "the West" include Israel?

All dictators in the world say to people of their countries that the "West" is responsible for all their troubles, but of course they are lying. IMO if all countries of the world were governed like like "Western" countries the people there would feel much better.
12024  Economy / Economics / Re: Should I believe in Bitcoin ? on: March 15, 2016, 12:35:46 PM
Believe in it or not Bitcoin will be rising and those who have trust in it will be in profit. Although more acceptance wouldn't hurt, Bitcoin is already trusted enough to rise slowly but steadily with some insignificant fluctuations.

i wouldn't mind an update too..

warmer weather still allowing the passive cooling?

12026  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Terrorist Bomb Attack In Ankara on: March 15, 2016, 11:48:44 AM
During the past few weeks, the Turkish army killed more than 1,000 Kurdish civilians in Cizre and Diyarbakır, the vast majority being women and children. At least two hundred civilians were burned to death. The recent attack in Ankara seems to be a retaliation by the PKK, against the war crimes committed by the Turkish army in Cizre and Diyarbakır. Now the Turks will understand how it feels like losing a loved one.

Turks are specialists in genocide.  Remember Armenian genocide?

That doesn't justifiy the terrorist attacks. It's like you say the 9/11 is also justified because all the wars that Americans started in Arab countries.

I agree with this. IMO no terrorist attack is justified, ever. A lot of innocent people die during these attacks and some of them I'm sure are not supporting war and are against any killing in general.
12027  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Microsoft stops accepting Bitcoin in Windows Store on: March 15, 2016, 08:33:54 AM
Some quick update guys.
Microsoft will continue accepting Bitcoin it seems!

Quote
“We continue to support Bitcoin for adding money to your Microsoft Account which can be used for purchasing content in the Windows and Xbox stores,” a Microsoft spokesperson told VentureBeat. “We apologize for inaccurate information that was inadvertently posted to a Microsoft site, which is currently being corrected.”

Good for them. Today if you want to ruin your business state that you are not accepting Bitcoin and vice versa. ) And now it's on the news everywhere: "Microsoft apologizes: We still accept bitcoin". Nice ))

Hopefuly they will regret this step in the future. I mean they just made a step back in the past and they will regret it. ))
12029  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much BTC have you gambled? on: March 14, 2016, 03:14:16 PM
I bet with very small amounts only so the total wagered amount of my gambling on different sites is no more than 3 BTC. That's because I like to play dice at win chances 1%, 0.1% and 0.01% making very small bets. The 0.01% is my favorite, if you hit the wanted number your bet will be multiplied 9900x. )
I also, at this time I have never bet with big bets, I always bet with small bets, it's because I never lost a substantial amount possible, now I've got about $ 120 in gambling

Congrats if your profit from gambling is $120! That's great and pretty unusual. But I'm not sure, did you mean you've wagered $120 or you won $120?
12030  Economy / Economics / Re: Minimum limit for buying BTC on: March 14, 2016, 03:09:25 PM
Here in Belgium I can buy the equivalent of 1 euro in Bitcoin through a service called bitonic (based in The Netherlands).
You can pay with online banking, which is pretty handy for me personally..

I've noticed they have pretty high fees lately, so might still change services in the future.

Isn't it more convenient to buy small amounts of BTC right here, on this forum? I have never done it myself but I thought those kind of deals have been made here.
12031  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to motivate women to use Bitcoin? on: March 14, 2016, 01:21:51 PM
Genders don't play a part in using btc to be honest, cause even guys might feel btc is dodgy or shady. (Whatever you call it)

Thanks, I kind of waited for a reply like this. Indeed in the modern world where women receive the same education as men there is no reason to think that women are less educated. Since Bitcoin is used mostly by educated people it can be used equally by both genders.

There is no need to motivate women to use Bitcoin, they are using it already and will be using it in the future.

12033  Economy / Economics / Re: Let's Be Honest. We Are Waiting for $100/BTC to buy on: March 14, 2016, 12:40:55 PM
I think the bottom is at $200-220, can't see it fall more. Not unless the scaling debate takes an ugly turn before the next halving

lol no, the bottom this year is still $350. so far nothing has changed. not sure how you come up with $200-$220 as these prices are not part of the question anymore.

I agree. Even though Bitcoin has had some bad publicity recently the price of it wouldn't drop much because of that. I think we can be pretty sure that we will never see below $350 and I secretly hope that even below $390 will never happen again.
12034  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Pro gun mom got shot by her 4 years old son on: March 14, 2016, 12:32:39 PM
I am pro-gun but you NEVER leave a loaded firearm lying around anywhere, especially near kids. This woman is stupid.

Exactly. Not only guns but many other things too harm people when improperly used. IMO the safety of people is about education, not prohibitition.
12035  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 100% Winrate on: March 14, 2016, 10:13:16 AM
~

Well, you know ... betting with 1.01 ODDS you have 99% chance to win the bet. So it's not something unusual that you've won. You might win many times in a row betting like this but if you lose only once your profit will be negative.

Only after winning more than 100 times in a row you can claim that you are a betting god. )

It's 99.999999999%, or let's just say 100%.

I don't get it. Why are you saying it's 99.999999999% when it's only 99%. I play dice a lot and trust me I know the difference. Even though sports bets and dice are not the same thing, they have something in common when we are talking about the odds.

12037  Economy / Speculation / Re: Oops Price is 425$ Now... on: March 13, 2016, 03:17:32 PM
Now the price is around $415. We are just $10 away from the $425. By the coming week we'll sure reach and cross the respective $425.
nope. last night had touched $ 421 and back to $419 do not worry about it mate. bitcoin already used to having this kind of movement. so we have to do is be patient Cheesy

The price is $412 now but I ... WOW! the price has changed to $424 just when I was writing the first words! I was going to say "but I don't lose hope" and this happened.  Smiley I hope Bitcoin will rise from now big time. )
12038  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What do you think about 9/11 mystery? on: March 13, 2016, 03:05:22 PM
More than 15 years passed after 9/11 disaster.
After 9/11 Coalition Forces occupied Afghanistan and Iraq. More than 1,5 million people died. Iraq regime collapsed with Saddam's dicta.
Coalition Forces encashed even every single bullet's price from Iraqi Puppet Government.
If we think today,  who get benefit from 9/11 and who lost, i leave it to your imagination and mind.
It was a terrorist attack?
There are many suspicious points
What about flight number 11, 175 and number 73 passengers hit Pentagon?
There are so many questions
Are you satisfied for explanations?
Actually what, happened there?

There are virtually no "mysteries" or "suspicious points" or "questions" about the 9/11 terrorist attack on the World Trade Towers.  There is already an extensive thread on this subject here, by the way.

Yes, and not only here obviously. The subject is covered very well IMO in wiki and on Youtube. I think if it was not a terrorist attack but something else entirely we'd already know it for sure. It's impossible to hide something that's so important in the modern world.
12039  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining project with S7 and solar panels on: March 13, 2016, 02:52:05 PM
but if the sun has a great power on the morning with the same power you can cover all day and having soem for the night
Also depends how far north (or south) of the equator you are.  Plenty of people are close enough to the arctic circle that they get extended hours of daylight for a big part of the year.

That's true but the light they have is not that intense as you might think. I'd been to Finland one Summer around August and yes, really there were almost no night, but the light in the sky was like that you have one hour after sunset or even later. So it was almost dark basically. I don't think that's enough for a solar panel.
12040  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people keep saying BTC is dead?! on: March 13, 2016, 02:40:30 PM
Most of them are trolls and they are saying these kind of things to influence on the price. Make panic investors do some panic selling.
From what i've learned it's best to ignore these kind of people.

Some of them in reality don't think BTC is dead. They just spread the rumors to induce panic selling. Then when the price is low enough in their opinion they buy big amounts. Actually they are the same people who make Bitcoin rise again every time.
