Unbelievable, but the card worked this time too!  Grin Cool

Damn right cause we need to get to 28-30k to get proper correction.

Then Proudhon will post that he is correct due to his math and science!
12022  Economy / Speculation / Re: Congrats to everyone for reaching $20k again. on: December 17, 2020, 10:28:16 PM
personally I think we go up to about 30k then correct to about 21k

21k is about what miners need to mine.

But I don't know much I am in the dark as much as the others.
12023  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 17, 2020, 07:38:30 PM
I voted 27000+  why not?

I would prefer a lot of sideways movement but I am think it may jump to 30k before years end.
12024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Stolen ETH from my Ledger on: December 17, 2020, 07:34:56 PM
B) 5 trezors with 76 eth coins in each would have been a better choice.

Thanks for remembering the 4th thing to do.

1st: never use ledger in your personal computer, the computer you will use ledger must have never been used for another thing other than ledger itself and the OS needs to be installed with the original image from the website itself. There are OS's that are modified, beware of that.
2nd: Make sure nothing in the network is running while ledger is plugged in your ledger specific computer or you can use a second network connection, much safer.
3rd: Keep you seedphrase in a fireproof case, this might be very expensive because most are not up for the job. Well, it has many other ways to keep it safe.
4th: Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

This is not paranoic, to make things simpler, you can use the same pc but not the same hard disk, swap disks will work here, a new pc is not needed for this.

or own 2 of these

16gb ram 1tb ssd i5 4570t for about 220 well worth the money to hold coins

I have lots of them.
12025  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Stolen ETH from my Ledger on: December 17, 2020, 06:11:54 PM
386 eth = 250K

A) I am sorry for your loss
B) 5 trezors with 76 eth coins in each would have been a better choice.
C) I hope you are a very big whale and that this is not more then 10% of your holdings.
D) forget hacking think 5 dollar wrench attack having a 20 coin trezor and a 66 coin trezor in your home may convince them that is all there is.
E) in case of fire a second location is a good idea.  Like a safe deposit box
F]It would have been nice to read that you lost only 36 coins because you have trezors in a bank safety box.

So no overheating ram issues with gddr6 (non-x) ?

So far no-one is getting throttling or least no-one reported it here.

It's terrifying what the fake news HOAX media is doing to people. The fake news hoax is media is pumping the fake news hoax bitcoin. Everyone knows this is unsustainable and will collapse soon. I thought bitcoin might slowly continue it's proven down trend toward $1,000, but now it looks like it's going to just completely collapse. This is a fantastic opportunity to short if you even want to bother with this fake news hoax currency.

This must be said. I love ❤️ you man.

12028  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: It is 2020 time for a new diff thread. on: December 17, 2020, 03:23:07 PM
the 1/2ing is factored in jan 2020 to march 2020 bigger blocks so .15  now bigger price less coin so .14

A block in feb 2020 was 12.5 at 10k
a block in dec 2020 is 6.25 at 23k

diff is higher now.  we are very equal to  10k in feb 2020

we are still less then July 2019 at 13k.

the chart does not use network's watt per th efficiency I estimate

2019 July 80  watts a th
2020 Feb 55   watts a th
2020 Dec 42? watts a th

the charts do not factor in power. I played with 0 ,2 ,4 ,6, 8 cents

it is very hard to be exact but we certainly have not reached

my Dec 2020 28-30k =  July 2019 13k estimate which could be low.

that chart leaves out  a lot of factors and comes up with 40-50k now = 13k July 2019

it is too high.  Most likely my 28-30k is too low.

I leaned towards 42-45 watts and 6 cent power. on average for the network.

to be safe lowest range possible is 25k highest range is 45k
either way

we could not hold the price of 13k in July 2019
we could not hold the price of 19.9k in Dec 2017

btw. diff was tiny  in 2017 around 8x lower than now.

and blocks were 12.5. so by diff 8 x 19.9= 159.2k /2 = 79.6k  a very rough idea of what we need to be to be at 2017.

the network then was likely 130watts a th it is now likely 42-45 watts a th.

for  a 0 ,1, 2 power guy so what
for a 3,4,5 cent guy it starts to matter
for a 6,7,8 cent guy it really matters.

the charts leave out efficiency and power cost

they use diff, price, block size

if you are a free power guy they are all you need.

If you pay for power you need to try to use your efficiency and your power per kwatts.

diff is now -4%+
coins are 23000+

so Merry Christmas!

Happy Hanukkah!

or any other religion or holiday.

set to low speed
do a  software reboot
wait 2 minutes do a software reboot
wait 2 minutes do a software reboot.

let it run 15 minutes see what it says.

it has corrupted readings after the  3 bootings it should work.

I said set it low to be safe.
Also check all fan speeds.

If it does not let us know.

I have had those readings and cleared them with multiple boots.
12030  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: December 17, 2020, 02:05:37 PM
I would mine using the gear I have.
I won't be buying gear at current prices.

Here is the funny thing 23k is about right price for mining profits of BTC.

100 th earns 100 x .1612 = 16.12usd

if it is 40 watts a th it is 4kwatts x 24 = 96 say 100 kwatts a day at 6 cent power that is 6 bucks a day

so 16-6 = 10 dollars a day at 6 six cents

8  dollars at 8 cents 312 days to roi
9  dollars at 7 cents 277 days to roi
10 dollars at 6 cents 250 days to roi
11 dollars at 5 cents 227 days to roi
12 dollars at 4 cents 208 days to roi
13 dollars at 3 cents 192 days to roi
14 dollars at 2 cents 178 days to roi

if you have 2 s17s. they cost about 1250each  or 2500

2500/14 = 178 to break even at 2 cent power

the numbers above are reasonable numbers for asic mining of btc.

Now eth with gpus.

say a small 75mh rig for 825

75 x 4.07 cents = 3.05 a day pulls 285 watts or 7kwatts

3.05- 1.05 = 2 bucks at 15 cent power

2.00 at 15 cents 412 days to roi
2.07 at 14 cents 398 days to roi
2.14 at 13 cents 385 days to roi
2.21 at 12 cents 373 days to roi
2.28 at 11 cents 361 days to roi
2.35 at 10 cents 349 days to roi
2.42 at  9 cents  342
2.49 at  8 cents. 331
2.56 at  7 cents. 322
2.63 at. 6 cents. 313
2.70 at  5 cents. 305
2.77 at. 4 cents. 297
2.84 at. 3 cents  290
2.91 at  2 cents. 283

at first glance asics look quicker to roi, but they are loud they are hot they need 240 volts. they have shit warranties they have poor  resale or spotty resale

gpus 2 or 3 years warranties transferable
quiet
better resale

I have blended my mining for years doing gpus and asics.  I also resell a lot of my gear. So I do not clock the shit out of them.

Right now I see upside for eth it is not close to its all-time high of 1200 or so.

BTC is getting close to the July 2019 level of profit if you factor in:

the diff
the 1/2ing
more efficient gear
price

we could not hold the July 2019 price of 13k I think if we push to 28-30k we won't hold it.

Eth looks like a better play.  BTW fuck eth I don't like it. I dump all my eth to cash and btc. But it looks better on paper at this moment in time than btc.

https://etherscan.io/chart/hashrate.

Hashrate watch this it is at 281th

If it spikes like mad to 325 or 330th it means a shit-ton of eth asics went on line.

It is why I do not like eth. I feel they could fuck with asics and they do not.

Hello everyone! I bought myself 10 s19 miners. Just came !!! but I did not immediately consider that there would be expensive electricity. And I did not think that there would be such a complex installation ((((

Hi guys,

Haven't been here for a while since the prices dropped and electricity costs were high in my country I've stopped the rigs. I always relied on the advices from citronick and philipma1957 which helped me a lot on my mining  Smiley
I still have 1 rig of 1080Ti, 1 rig of 1060 and 1 rig of RX570.

Any idea or suggestion on what I should start them? Or only the 1080Ti is the profitable one here?
I was using in the past Simplemining and it was working very well for my rigs.

Thank you for your time and answers Smiley Cheers!

point them to nicehash mine eth on all three and see what nicehash says they pay you.

I am pretty sure they profit at 25cents a kwatt

not so sure what they do at 35cents a kwatt

a 1080ti set to lower power like I do does 160mh at 700 watts

160 x 0.04 = 6.40 usd a day. .7 x 24 = 17 kwatts I round up. .17 x 30 = 5.10 usd in power

6.40-5.10 = 1.30 usd a day profit.  money = money so why not mine.  Or consider selling the 1080ti's. you will get top dollar for them.
12033  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 17, 2020, 12:41:20 PM

....i mine to a desktop wallet. then send to an exchange to corn.

phil is the mining man to talk to.

You are paying innecesary gas/fees mining to your wallet, if you plan to sell them later.
Mine right to your address at the exchange.

thanks ill look into that. i remember at one point some exchanges didnt like that as it clogged them up or something. maybe it was only specific coins or exchanges.

I mine eth at viabtc direct to Coinbase .  I then cash it or convert it to btc.

I set my eth payout at 1 eth which is about 10 days for each payout.

I don't hodl eth I dump it.

I do hodl btc.

My eth payout is set to 1eth which slows the payment to 9- 10 days.  as  I earn about 1900 x 0.0407 = 77 usd in eth a day or about 1900 x 0.00006171 = 0.117249 eth a day. Having the eth farm makes it easier to hodl the btc.

If we can stay in the 20k-25k BTC  lane for 6 months.

along with eth at 650-700

I will make out well in 2021.
12034  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: It is 2020 time for a new diff thread. on: December 17, 2020, 04:46:17 AM
I estimate gear efficient in july 2019 at 80 watts. for whole network

I estimate gear at 45 watts now.

I used 4-6 cent power.

your estimate is perfectly accurate for no cost power.

my estimate differs with ballbark figures

for network efficiency.

and ball park numbers for power.

Was just reading the thread....as for the price, I like to zoom out a lot and see the last 3 major pumps and imagine what the 4th one will look like.  I also remembered....we are the 16th....!
Go see your nicehash if you are owed a balance.  They owed me 0.017btc and its in the process of being withdrawn.  By Satoshi they actually paid.  Not a big deal or anything but thats going to be worth a used car soon so xD  Hopefully

Nice hash paid my 3 accounts today. so they hodl long enough on the last 18% owed to me. about 0.0131 coinage are now at a nice price

btc 21,339 = damn!! my thread title looks good.

eth 632 = almost 45% off ATH

Interesting times we live in today.... congrats to all hodlers too!

BTC is now inching past towards 22k and ETH nearing past 650

Comparing 2017 highs..... today's crypto sentiments are much much positive ... imagine the fomo when every TV, news headlines reports crypto news.

It got over 22000 on bitstamp.

I am waiting for ETH to touch 700 and take some profits.

I will be cashing out some btc and some eth in about ten minutes.

and cashed some out.

still hodling more than I cashed.

21.3k is getting close to first tipping point

which is 28-30k = 2019 july mining profits

next one would be 70-80k = 2017 december mining profits.
