12081  Economy / Services / Re: Blockchain: Why is it in Greek? on: December 05, 2012, 01:38:44 AM
I'm wondering if it's just me or are others experiencing the same thing. If it is just me, how do I reset to English?

Thanks in advance.

There is a flag on your top right corner, just change it to whatever you prefer.

Well, that was simple! I hunted everything on that site and never noticed the flag. Thanks, bud.

12083  Other / Off-topic / Re: [btc]1 or 1[btc] or 1 [btc]? Which is the most proper usage? on: December 05, 2012, 12:27:00 AM
i'd say BTC1 or 1 BTC, to mimic $1 or 1 AUD

At the moment, I'm just concerned about the proper usage of the Bitcoin symbol BTC and not BTC.

BTC1 for the whole or subunit, like $1, or $0.xxxxxxxx. If you just want to speak in cents, there could be a bitcent version of ¢ (1/100), except BTC goes to the 8th decimal place...

Is there a consensus that this is, or should be, the proper usage?

The worlds best could not do it I'm sure they went over all these theories. Not sure you guys are understanding the one time thing.

A coded book, with the answers to the coded message. Used 1 time, then destroyed.

Unless you have one of those 2 books, you're not going anywhere.

ASDW#$FGDXCV in the coded book can mean, Allied victory at this place, soviet retreat here.

You'll never crack that.

How do we know for certain a OTP was used? If I read correctly, there were millions of messages sent via pigeons during WWII. To use a OTP, don't you have to sent a pigeon first with the key prior to sending the crypto message? If that's the case, then what happens if the other end doesn't get the key but only the message?

FYI: Did you know that some prisoners are using pigeons to get drugs onto the grounds? Who here is working on Silk Air?

what if satoshi is multiple satoshis?!

What if inside each Satoshi is a smaller Satoshi?  Shocked

This comes to mind: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuttle_(M*A*S*H)
12088  Other / Off-topic / Re: Name the Song (using only 4 images as clues) on: December 04, 2012, 03:55:57 PM
Seems like my submission died. The answer was Sweet Caroline by Neal Diamond.

Explanation of imges:

Neal Caffrey- Shares the first name of Neal Diamond
Good Times- "Good times have never felt this good"
Woman Groaning- "Oh,Oh,Oh"
Diamond- Neal's Last name
South Carolina State flage and outline- S.C for Sweet Caroline and Carolina as a hint.

I thinks it nice if we explain our reasoning behind the clues. Just for the satisfaction of curiosity.

I agree with the last part of post.

I was hoping to keep the name of the artist out of the clues, only using what's found in the lyrics. One can cheat, for there are some song titles of which its words don't appear in the song(s). BTW, I love that song and thank's kindly for the submission. Sorry about nobody getting it. When I have more time, I'll give clues to my submissions yet to be uncovered along with explaining the ones that have if I haven't done so already.

Great! Two more added. Feel free to not only submit your own, but others who have animated avatars on this forum (only). I'm not collecting GIFs from any other source(s), and only avatars.

I remember somebody has a flying fly as their avatar. If you see again before me, please post it so that I can add it to the collection in the OP.

I see the problem! Derek has only those big colored plastic toys to play with, while daddy has a shining mining rig. I suggest buying him a toy reflow oven and when he starts crying tell him daddy needs some new parts FAB.

12092  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: FOUND!!! Hunt the Genesis Rock to earn a free Bitcoin. FOUND!!! on: December 04, 2012, 05:30:38 AM
I'm ready to resolve this now. I have 2.9090909 BTC residing in this wallet: 1EWRJ5BeibZxMguujPLzqM8WWiHpFJtLLx

I just funded it because I didn't want to take funds out of an investment wallet.

I'm splitting it up equally between DiamondCardz, because he had to wait, and ildubbioso for coming in second, deciding not to have a second contest just for him, even though I promised a 2 BTC if he could find another rock I would have submitted an image of. I would have done some creative editing to make it very difficult for him to find, thus wasting too much of his time. I feel it best to end this contest this way, hoping to satisfy all concerns. I hope I accomplished that.

I have DC's address and will be PM'ing Ildubbioso for his.

Thanks, all, for playing. Possibly, we'll do this again.

The two above look good, but I guess I'm looking for a consensus like when we worked together to get BTC as the official (so to speak) symbol. Now we all need to be on the same page as to how to use it. Seems odd, but we're looking at three different ways to use BTC with 33% using one way, 33% another, and 33% the other. (approximately)

I need $40 worth and want to pay via Money Pac. I'm willing to go first and only ask to give me the best exchange rate you can--no questions.

EDIT: Please PM if you desire private, and would rather not deal with a Newbie. Would prefer a more senior member with some cred.
