12081  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how add security to our bitcoin ? on: November 29, 2020, 04:46:40 AM
Hello,

i don't know bitcoin very well but i have money in btc on coinbase. I am not sure have money on coinbase is very secure. What do you think about it ? Is there a way for have bitcoin with security because i scared coinbase block my account or give information on how much money i have on it, i think it is not very anonymous

The problem in keeping the coins with third party service providers such as Coinbase is that they can freeze your coins without any warning and then ask KYC documents in order to get back the access. As such there is no need to store coins in third party wallets. You can easily set up a desktop lite wallet or an online wallet and store your coins. It is going to be as secure as a Coinbase wallet. Just remember to take the basic security precautions, such as email confirmation and 2FA.
12082  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-11-25]Is This The Real Reason Bitcoin Has Suddenly Soared Toward Its All-T on: November 29, 2020, 04:31:57 AM
Forbes is right in saying that "this rally is much more sustainable than 2017"?

In my eyes the 2017 rally, which actually started in 2015, was very sustainable, it lasted for more than 2 years and brought the price from $200 to nearly $20,000, and even after the crash, the price was still tremendously higher than where it was at the begging. If this rally would be as "sustainable" as the 2015-2017 rally, we could look at reliable $60-80k price ranges in a few years.

It's only from the perspective of people who entered close to the ATH that rally wasn't sustainable.

There are different ways of looking in to it. By mid-2015, the exchange rates had hit rock bottom at around $200 per coin. This represented 85% decline from the ATH levels of 2013 December. Then there was a small recovery, and the prices reached $900 per coin by 2017 January (which was still 20% lower than the 2013 ATH level). I would rather consider the movement from 2015 to 2017 January as a "recovery", rather than a "rally". IMO, the rally started in Q1 2017 and lasted for less than 12 months.
12083  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin anonymous? on: November 29, 2020, 04:21:32 AM
Every single Bitcoin transaction is being stored in the Blockchain and therefore in a strict sense, Bitcoin is not anonymous. But it is not very easy to trace back the Bitcoin transactions to the individual user, unless at some point an exchange with fiat currency is being made. Anonymous coins are there, such as Monero and Deep Onion. But they never attained any sort of popularity or acceptance among the users and none of them are included in the top-10 list by Coinmarketcap.

Current Indian bowling line up is good in all 3 formats and they have good back up bowlers as well so one bad game is not something to worry about. Indian team might come back strongly in the next game.

You don't need to find any new bowler but encourage top order batsmen to learn the skill. After all nowadays we expect bowlers to contribute with the bat too, right? so why not batsmen should learn a extra skill ? They are bowling or not, it doesn't matter as its depends on the situation . Sometimes having a extra bowler comes very hand, lets say your regular bowlers having a bad day then part timers could slip couple of overs.

For the second ODI also, India have gone with the same bowling lineup. And this time, they seems to have got a good start. Both Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami are bowling with good line and length.

I agree with you on the second part of your post. Nowadays we expect the bowlers to chip in with the bat as well. As we saw during the last match, Navdeep Saini and Mohammed Shami made noticeable contributions with the bat. But then we can't expect genuine tail enders such as Bumrah to do the same.
12085  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 29, 2020, 03:48:55 AM
Currently Indian hockey team is in 4th place of world ranking so they are not really a bad team in this sport and Indian other sports like Kabadi and football giving their best but not finding the sponsorship which is important to bring the sport to the next level in the international level.

Not sure about the rankings, but the current Indian hockey team looks like a shadow of their former self. In the recent times, they never won any global events. And also, you can't compare a small sport like hockey to major sports such as cricket, football and basketball. So the sponsorship and fanbase is going to be smaller when compared to cricket.

Another issue is the corruption and incompetence of the Indian Hockey Federation (IHF). And there have even been sexual abuse allegations. A decade ago, national team member T S Ranjitha Devi accused the Indian coach M K Kaushik of sexual harassment. She claimed that those who refused to have physical relationship with Kaushik were excluded from the squad. A sham enquiry followed, but nothing happened to Kaushik.

Now coming to Kabaddi, it is a minor sport played in a handful of nations. And even in this sport, India is no longer the lone powerhouse. There have been attempts to get these sports to the franchise system in India, starting with Hockey India League (HIL) and Pro Kabaddi League. While the latter is doing relatively well, the HIL is now defunct due to a number of reasons (all of which are perfectly understandable).
12086  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US Presidential Election 2020 and its impact on gambling on: November 29, 2020, 03:38:10 AM
I don't seeit inducing a huge impact to the gambling indjstry really. Except of course if a foulplay is discovered which will direclty affect the winnings of the people who have already placed their bets. Especially for those who have already enjoyed their winnings and would have a hard time, if not an imppssible time retrieving these money.

Most of the gambling sites have disbursed the winning amount to those who made bets in favor of Biden. So in the very unlikely scenario of the election results getting overturn, I don't think that the other set of players may receive their rewards. To be honest, everyone were unprepared for this. Both the gamblers, as well as the online casinos. No one expected the election to be so close. The media was always claiming that it is going to be a blowout for Biden.
12087  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 💰 Summer Tokyo 2020 💰 Discussion and bet thread 💰 Summer Game 💰 Postponed 21 on: November 29, 2020, 03:28:51 AM
I remember reading in an article somewhere that they can continue the Olympics with or without a vaccine but with only a limited staff and audience. so yeah, they plan to continue the Olympics in 2021 and the only reason why they postponed it in 2020 is because of the Covid fear and advice of health experts. also, the schedule has been made and the Olympics will start on July 23 next year and will end August 8 in the same year. (information can found on google search)

I seriously doubt whether it is possible to continue with the Olympics without mass vaccination programs. If it was any other sporting event, then I would have less uncertainty. But Olympics is the largest sporting event on earth, involving more than ten thousand athletes. Add in the coaching staff and others, and the numbers can easily reach 30,000 or even 40,000. Conducting an event with this many, without a vaccine is risky.
12088  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook Libra finally launching? on: November 28, 2020, 04:21:23 AM
I don't know whether Libra will be launched or not. But their approach was wrong from the very beginning. Mark Zuckerberg and David Marcus stole the idea from Satoshi Nakamoto and then without giving any credit to the original inventor, they tried to create a competing product. What they did was very unethical and I won't be surprised if Libra remains in the freezer for the next few decades.
12089  Economy / Economics / Re: China is looking to get rid of the US dollar on: November 28, 2020, 04:11:14 AM
We will see the impact of China's economy in 50 years at least, but is a matter of time, China is a giant nobody will be able to compete with them

This was what we thought earlier. No one thought that the other nations would be able to compete against China. But the situation has changed rapidly. Many of the Western corporations have moved their manufacturing facilities from China, to countries such as India and Philippines. And everything seems to be going smoothly. China no longer has the sole advantage of cheap labor, low taxes and lax regulations. The other countries have also learnt from China and are taking the necessary steps.
12090  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it right time to buy Altcoin ? on: November 28, 2020, 04:01:08 AM
Normally altcoins go up when the Bitcoin prices go up. But this time a lot of red flags can be noticed with the altcoins. Compared to the situation in 2017, many of the alts are showing much lower liquidity and at least some of them seems to be stagnant as far as the development is concerned. Even if the exchange rates are going up for now, I am doubtful whether the hype can be sustained for too long.
12091  Economy / Economics / Re: After 1 year of Covid 19 Virus on: November 28, 2020, 03:48:16 AM
A vaccine will only render a person immune to the virus, it is not a cure for the virus. Now with your question whether this will be the last of COVID-19, that will heavily depend on the public itself, do they still have fear and respect for the damages the virus can inflict? Or are they making fun of it thinking it wouldn't hit them?

There is no guarantee that the virus will not hit us again. As you know, Coronavirus is a strain of the flu-virus. What differentiated it from the other strains is its ability to spread rapidly and the moderately high mortality rate. And unlike the bacteria, virus are known to mutate rapidly. And once they mutate, the existing vaccines would no longer work against them.
12092  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 28, 2020, 03:38:10 AM
It seems majority of here were excited about only Ind vs Aus clash? No one even gave much thought on (T-20) WI vs NZ. In which NZ won the game nicely because of their lower middle order. I missed the game so i am guilty as well.

It was one man show from Lockie Ferguson. West Indies was about to set a big score, but then Lockie started his spell and got the important batsmen out. Ferguson ended with 5/21. Other bowlers went for plenty. Hamish Bennett conceded 50 runs in 15 balls, while James Neesham went for 32 runs off his 9 balls (1.3 overs). But then undisciplined bowling in the second innings cost West Indies the match.
12093  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Super League (ISL) Football match updates, predictions and discussions on: November 28, 2020, 03:27:44 AM
So far 8 matches have been completed, and ATK Mohun Bagan is on top with 6 points (2 wins from 2 matches). The other team from Kolkata (East Bengal FC) is languishing at the bottom of the points table. And once again, it is last years heroes such as Roy Krishna who are having the biggest impact. I am still not fully satisfied with the quality of the matches. They need to consider increasing the limit for foreign players from the current 6 to either 8 or 10.
12094  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: November 28, 2020, 03:14:20 AM
Lastly Virat is intentionally trying to throw Rohit under the bus by making him guilty of hiding about his injury status, when the fact is Rohit was actually taking care of his dad (who was sick).
I think it is lack of communication and the situation is that Rohit Sharma will not be able to take part in the entire series as per the reports and on top of that they had to go through quarantine for two weeks and once everything is done according to the current situation the Australian tour will be over. Virat Kohli is not taking part in the latter part of the tournament and he might want Rohit in the team during that phase and now his service is not available.

Cricketers are also human. If Rohit's father is not well and he wants to be with him, then the BCCI needs to excuse him from this series. There may be some impact from his absence, but the team should be able to overcome it. We can't go back to the 90s, when the Indian cricket team was like an one man army centered around Sachin Tendulkar. Other players need to step up and take additional responsibility.
12095  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: November 28, 2020, 03:01:14 AM
Australia made too many runs and it was always difficult for the Indians to chase them and that too on the Sydney cricket ground. We cannot say yet who will win the series and India also played well to make 308 runs in the chase of 374 runs.

The Australians prepared a very flat track, which offered no special assistance to the bowlers. Both the pacers and spinners went for plenty of runs. Yuzvendra Chahal had his baptism in fire, on his first trip to Australia. One interesting thing is that the Australian pace bowlers (with the exception of Josh Hazlewood) looked as if they are out of form. This is a bad sign for them.
12096  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To be Fair I think bitcoin will go highest highs and then will collapse on: November 27, 2020, 03:01:21 AM
Yes everything that goes straight must eventually comes down, but if you compare Xrp against Bitcoin, i'll still go with BTC because unlike Xrp its creators doesn't look forward into selling its price dumping massive of tokens for fiat, and i don't like the fact that it's centralized, so anytime it can be regularized by governments

Please don't compare a shitcoin such as XRP with BTC. Ripple is a scam, and sooner or later those who are investing in it will realize the same. On top of being heavily manipulated, Ripple is a very centralized cryptocurrency. In short, it is cryptocurrency in just name. XRP is similar to a central bank issued fiat currency, which exists in the format of cryptocurrency.
12097  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin needs more women. on: November 27, 2020, 02:48:42 AM
I am not sexist but, usually, men are more into technology compared to women, so that is why the ratio of men/women who are interested in crypto favors men. There are only a few women who are involved in crypto and I think that gender has nothing to do with gender, everyone is welcome, there is also no need to compare the number of women in crypto.

Latest stats indicate that more and more women are venturing in to cryptocurrency. No one is preventing them from investing in cryptocurrency. Being a female myself, I have to say that most of the women are likely to stick with low-risk options such as bank deposits and bonds. It is their choice not to invest in cryptocurrency, and no one else needs to bother about it.
12098  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you buy BTC from PayPal now that they are letting people do it? on: November 26, 2020, 04:05:25 AM
This is something to consider:

A Paypal user has been banned, and his account assets blocked for 180 day for allegedly … buying and selling crypto on Paypal itself. Apparently, he was using Paypal’s crypto buy/sell capabilities to buy the dips and sell high, but with a frequency seems to have triggered some stale alert that led Paypal to follow a standard procedure, that probably does not account for the heavyish crypto buy/sell orders.

If this is for real, it seems like they’ve messed it up pretty nicely with this person. Nice way to gain adepts … They should really revise the case over again.

https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/k0rmtw/paypal_permanently_banned_my_account_due_to/
https://cryptopotato.com/this-user-had-his-paypal-account-banned-for-trading-cryptocurrency/

Still not enough to change my opinion.

Ever since PayPal made Bitcoins available in their platform, more than a million users have made use of that opportunity and accumulated Bitcoin. This seems to be an isolated case for me. PayPal do have some tough T&C. This user might have violated at least some of them. Anyway, I hope that he will appeal against this ban and his account limitations will be removed by PP soon.
12099  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fees high on: November 26, 2020, 03:43:25 AM
What is bothering me is the uncertainty regarding the fees. It is getting quite difficult to calculate the fee now. Yesterday I made one transaction, after paying 30 Sat/Byte as the fee (which would have given me instant confirmation according to various fee calculator sites). But after I made the transaction, the Mempool size went up and the transaction got stuck. It got confirmed only after 4 hours.
12100  Economy / Speculation / Re: who believes that the price of BTC high next month? on: November 26, 2020, 03:29:06 AM
Just when we were talking about new ATH levels, a major correction has occurred. During the last 3-4 hours, the exchange rates have fallen from $19,200 to $18,200. Actually I was wondering why no major corrections hasn't occurred till now. If you remember, the rally from $12K was largely devoid of major dips. There were some minor temporary dips, but they didn't even lasted one full day.
