zotac holo doesn't throttle in my gaming pc.
712mV -250core +775mem 91.8MH @ 230W atw (205W in phoenixminer)

How long did you let it mining? Because Zotac has all poscaps and it should throtle.

We kicked around mixed caps vs 1 cap as throttle it is not

but 1 cap does lock up cool units on high clocks.

my mixed cap evga can go to + 1400 or +1500. and does not lock up or over heat.  it has good cooling 3 fan and the mixed caps.

see if you can clock higher and if it locks even if the memory is cool.

viabtc says 1 th gives 0.00000697 btc.

so :
14.5th gives 0.000101065 btc a day
145th gives  0.001010650 "
1.45ph gives 0.010106500 "
14.5ph gives 0.101065000 "
145ph. gives 1.010650000 "

so a set of 10 fully loaded containers does the trick

and you burn 3 megawatts an hour if the gear does 30 watts a th.

at 30 dollars a th the setup above = $$$$

30 x 145 x 1000 = 4,350,000.00 USD.

Yeah, you can only carry so many clips with you, you really want to make sure you have ammo when you really need it.

Typical load out for M4 or M16 (or AR-15 equivalent) is like 4 mags on your chest, right? That's what I usually see anyway. My own military has no standards, we get what we get, but since I'm an officer I stick to my 1911 as my sidearm. Eventually I'll switch to 9mm. Maybe a "standard" Glock 17.

I'm getting partial to shotguns since most countries don't seem to have too many restrictions on them, particularly if you got a simple manual pump shotgun. A little practice and you can fire that thing in quick bursts, then if you really need continuous cover you can stuff a shell every few seconds.

I have a state trooper friend I know him for 58 years met him at 5 years old in kindergarten .  He owns a machine gun shotgun. Note he is not a NJ to NY state trooper.

He lives in a state that allows this gun. It is a pretty amazing gun.

A problem with this idea, is that many of us have pretty damned decent ideas that bitcoin is currently NOT stable, but instead "coiling."  So there is that angle to consider.

But even though it is coiled who is to say it is not a sidewinder they coil and go sideways.

BTW. if we go side ways for 60 days we will bart then moonshot like we did on the last 60 bart.

I would take a 60 day sideways movement all the way to the bank.
12145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any news about nvidia 3060ti hash rates? on: December 07, 2020, 12:44:16 AM
I got one of these

https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=08G-P5-3663-KR

EVGA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti XC GAMING, 08G-P5-3663-KR, 8GB GDDR6, Dual-Fan, Metal Backplate

The mark up was okay.

I paid 513-26=477 with shipping included.

3 months to pay it off.

Cannot get to that ROI.
At ~2usd/day for 61 mhs, I get ~8 months ROI. Without electric cost.

What am I missing?

You aren't missing anything, he is just playing with "house money".
You are correct, his breakeven point on his new cards are about as you've calculated. Even though he has other rigs to pay it off, the breakeven time of the additional capital deployed has to be calculated based on the incremental income it provides.

yeah. but 100% break-even for me zero debt and all paid off = very late December.

and if I had a rig you would be right way down the road. hundreds of days,

When you run bigger you look overall not a rig.  When I pay the tax man they ask me for all rigs combined not the 1 rig.

I get to offset the rig price this year against this years earnings.

Hey all, I guess it's a long shot but I'm struggling to find this exact board, even on Aliexpress and Alibaba, I send a message and they tell me or show me a similar kind of board. I want this exact board 100%. Does anyone have one, two or three for sale if they don't need them anymore? Or message me in the future when they aren't using it anymore?

I am asking mods to move this to alt coins

An example has been set. Bossian deserves the full credit. Congratulations LFC_Bitcoin. $951.90 at current rate is a lot of money to have a unforgettable Christmas  Grin

If it wins I will send him 1.0 btc
Hope you win and he gets this BTC. If this really happens then this will be an event that I will proudly speak to others around me.

Sadly it lost.

But WTF it was fun.

thank you for the explantation. Do you advice to buy and hold eth instead of mining it?

My advice is, if you can get gpus for msrp price then buy gpus at moment if not then buy coins, buying 3080 for 1200 usd is like buying eth for $1200 at moment. There will be no point buying eth once it reaches $1200 or higher as the risk increases.

pretty much matches my advice.

do not overpay more than 10% on a card OEM poem price.  edit due to sp ck
a 400 usd 3060ti is  worth no more than 440-460 usd

a 769 usd 3080ti is worth no more than 850-860 usd

12150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RTX 3060Ti 8GB or RX 5700 XT 8GB ? on: December 05, 2020, 05:20:17 PM
RTX3060Ti

1. Limited power to 120W, that's 60% power saving from stock 200W
2. 61MH/s, that's 10MH/s over RX5700XT
3. It supports many algorithms than AMD RX5700XT
4.  It generates less heats

RX5700XT

1. Hotter than RTX3060TI, depending on the brand you choose, some are even worse
2. 50+ MH/S
3. 160W Locked
4. Bad Overclocking

your watts are way off. I do 51-52mh on my PowerColor red dragon at 107-110 watts

So 9mh and 13 more watts for the 3080 you show

or   3080      = 1.967 watts a th or 120/61.0
and 5700xt = 2.119 watts a th or 110/51.9

so if you get either one they are fairly close.

What matters is price you pay
How good the card runs.
Warranty.  2yr vs 3yr

I mention warranty because I am running 1080tis purchased Christmas Eve to New year eve  from corsair  in 2017.  They still have warranty on them and I still mine with them.

Here is a card with a 4 year warranty https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-N306TAORUS-M-8GD#kf.

If a legit seller sold it to me for 500 usd
I would buy I right now.
I would think it is equal to this card the 5700xt sapphire nitro

https://www.sapphiretech.com/en/consumer/nitro-radeon-rx-5700-xt-8g-gddr6

if the nitro was 450 usd  and the aorus was 500 they would very close to an exact tie.  I do think sapphire only has 2 year warranty.

the sapphire nitro is pretty much the best card of the 5700xt if you do good bios I have seen 55mh with 101 watts which is best than any 3060 I have seen.

But of it is a mute point because now cards are very hard to get. and costly

Good morning fellow bitcorners.

Observing BTC finding that $19k number again.  Seems to be the badgers new favorite number.

So sideways it is. hmm

 July 1 2020. price 11,817
Aug 31 2020 price  11,923

a 60  day bart

we then tanked about 15% to 10,160 on sept 2020 then slowly moved upwards 45 days to oct 16 2020 then took off

would be nice to see a 60 day bart nov 30 to Jan 29 at the 19000 range.

then a dump then a strong move up

$299 5600xt Newegg ebay 5GPU limit + 24 month 0% paypal financing (might be targeted), Enjoy.

Not going to touch these low density setup cards..when "can't get enough gpu syndrome" kicks in some people will ran out of space, thus limiting their max attainable hashrate LOL

Well you did not want them but they sold out any way Grin Grin

Meanwhile I keep offering the 1000 series cards with not many takers.

They make about 500mh at 3.2 cents = 16  day pure profit for me until Jan 1 then my temp power deal ends.

I am keeping all card earnings 100% with no power cost until Jan 1.  At that point I drop to a 25% share of the coins with no power costs.

The nice thing is we have over 60 cards and over 2gh. So I will own 50% of  all the cards  outright no debt on any of them and make 25% of the coins with no outlays.

12153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any news about nvidia 3060ti hash rates? on: December 05, 2020, 04:12:35 PM
I got one of these

https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=08G-P5-3663-KR

EVGA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti XC GAMING, 08G-P5-3663-KR, 8GB GDDR6, Dual-Fan, Metal Backplate

The mark up was okay.

I paid 513-26=477 with shipping included.

3 months to pay it off.

Cannot get to that ROI.
At ~2usd/day for 61 mhs, I get ~8 months ROI. Without electric cost.

What am I missing?

Sorry three months to pay my credit card company off and a 5% discount on the 513 purchase.

so 487 net price as  i subtracted wrong above and said 477.

so 487 after the cc discount and 90 days to pay the cc at no extra cost.

So for roi no one knows that.

I operate a bit differently than many miners.

I have gpus ,cpus,btc asics,ltc asics.

I have 1.4 ph of btc miners all paid off.
I have 10gh of ltc miners all paid off.
I around 60 gpus about 1600 usd owed. All on 90 day promos with no interest fees.

The gpus have temporary free power until end of the year.

So it is more complex to describe.

Jan 1 all the gear above will be paid off. As I will prepay the 90  day promos this year for taxes.

At this point all gear will be paid.

I will get 25% of what it all earns. plus own it.

So explaining pay back or roi for me is complex.
but explaining paying off the card via credit card promo is easy enoguh.

Had some spare time, so i took apart my gigabyte 3060ti eagle.
It is quite obvious why the temps are sub par on this card
1) no tim between memory heat spreader and heatsink
2) back plate is thick plastic and has a lip that impedes airflow.

saw this crap on my gigabyte 5700 oc as well.

After reassembling without the plastic back plate (had to use a couple of washers to attach the heatsink back on), it looks like mem oc went from +1000 to +1200.

you could mod the plate

and lay a fan on the hole you cut

these bits are up to 1.5 inch

https://www.amazon.com/DEWALT-DW1582-1-Inch-6-Inch-Spade/dp/B0001LQYHQ/ref=sr_1_3?

you know a 3d printer could make good  plates and the oem does not need to be cut

https://www.amazon.com/Dremel-Digilab-Printer-Hobbyists-Tinkerers/dp/B00NA00MWS/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?

the extra fan could mount on the card the replace meant plate could be 4 by 4

Right now I don’t think you guys will have too many issues since Nicehash has removed ETC mining. So if you are mining Daggerhashimito it will only mine one coin, ETH. So you will never get any reloading DAGs.

The issue I had in the past was when switching back and forth between ETC and ETH and dags kept crashing when new work was issued by nicehash. So I had to stop using it. However now the only possible DAG is ETH so you won’t get any switching even with new work. Yes it’s possible it’s some Ubiq coin but I don’t think anyone would rent hash at. 2x cost to mine those low cap coins.

This is a good point. Maybe I will switch back.

The below video is a 30-minute clip of a Monkey Rules guy who is going over what he believes to be the holdings and practices of a variety of BIG players, exchanges, normies and others in the bitcoin space.

He is really excited about what seems to be going on with Bitcoin's current supply, and even if his numbers are NOT exactly right, he is still capturing the kind of sentiment and dynamic that is currently out there in the bitcoin speculation space in respect to bitcoin's supply - and the hardness of what seems to be a lessening of available bitcoin.

Ive been mining into Nicehash for the last 6 months, is ViaBTC better?

Do you mine with NiceHash OS, NiceHash Miner or some other solution? I had issues running NiceHash OS on 3 different motherboards, I'm not a fan of their Windows based miner, so I was using SimpleMiner OS to mine which was giving me a lot of restarts and system crashes. I have no issues mining on Ethermine or ViaBTC (only mining there 24 hours so far).

Running Nicehash Miner with PhoenixMiner after Claymore died.  Was using Blockchain drivers , but crashed too much, now use 18.6.1 on my 2017-18 era cards (580's, vegas). and run more stable than ever before.

So the question is, does it make sense to switch to Viabtc to mine Ethereum or just stay at NH and let if convert to BTC?

I would have stayed on nicehash but it simply had too many lock ups.

If you are getting nicehash to run may as well stay.

My viabtc goes to Coinbase and I just cash it out to pay all the bills.

My asics for btc are all hodl.

12159  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are people dying from Covid19 or from reaction of the wrong medication? on: December 05, 2020, 01:12:55 AM
I've been watching right-wing media lately and found this theory that "people died with covid, not because of covid."
They said the elderly would die naturally (because of old age), so when you hear that many older people died because of covid, you should ask: is it really because of Covid? How can you prove that they died because of covid, not because of, well, the time is up?

So I push an 80 year old down a flight of stairs he dies cause he was old.
Then its not murder he was old his time was up.
Lets push every 80 year old down a flight of stairs.

That is the basic logic used in your example of right-wing media above.

So don't wear a mask break all the social distancing rules  and keep spreading the disease  so what if a person over 80 catches it and dies.

For that matter so what if they are 70

for that matter so what if they are 60

better yet so what if they are 40 but have diabetes.
