I'M HUMAN

I'M HUMAN

LOL
No, you are a proven troll.
You completely deserve by your own actions what you get.
Did you even bother to read the post? I wasn't even referring to myself you moron.
1222  Economy / Speculation / Re: Network Size In Relation To Price on: December 03, 2011, 07:59:15 AM
Your numbers are all over the place, as with most bears..

I calculated how much I pay for 3G/Hs in electricity and it comes out to $3...

There are millions of people with the same situation as me...

EDIT: And I actually live in a pretty big state. I calculated how much my electricity would be if it were "EXPENSIVE" (0.15KWH) and it came out to about 7 dollars a day. Still a far cry from the $700 you were crying about.

You pay $0.0015 per KW/h? That's amazing.

There aren't millions of people mining.

$0.15 @ 2500 Watts = $9 per day

$0.15 is the listed average base rate that represents most urbanized areas. Tiered rates apply, and aren't usually factored in the two dimensional forecasting that most miners seem to use. Rates can go as high as $0.50 per Kw/H. It does depend on where you live, of course. In California, there are quite a few areas where mining is simply out of the question. This also applies to other states.

Thanks for your input, and congratulations on the (almost) free electricity!

-Jonathan
I'm at 0.04 which is about 2.40 USD a day...

Flippro, don't get irritated. I'm a friendly.  Cheesy  If you can get input, then you should try to run with it. The last thing you should do is take a combative attitude with potential users.

I think you should consider a more targeted approach (e.g. give people 5 possible stories to comment on, with accompanying pictures, and change them every week.) People do not like to have to consider too many options simultaneously. Make a contest for best comment on the five articles. To start, subsidize the entry fees heavily, but charge something so people get used to interacting with the site.

Here are some questions to consider...

PRODUCT
What type of content does tweetforum aggregate?
What message about content does the tweetforum main page convey to users?
Are there better sources of this content?

ACTIVITY
How do tweetforum users interact with content?
How does this differ from interactions which could occur on another forum?

USERS
Who are the target users of tweetforum?
Where do these users hangout and how can you get their attention?

COMPETITIVENESS
What advantages does going to tweetforum have over an alternative venue?

Ideally, answers to these questions should be short and obvious.

Those are some very good ideas. Sorry not trying to be "mean" Wink.

Wax scratch-off like on lottery tickets, with a custom image stamped into the wax?
Oh, wait, hackerish.... Nah, I got nothing.
In a real world scenario, the money circulating would wear out, and the wax would come off  Cheesy.
1226  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to create bills on the cheap on: December 03, 2011, 04:18:45 AM
I want to produce denominated bitcoin bills, but there is a little problem.

To do so, it seems that I would have to create a custom made tamper evident hologram to cover over the private key of every bill. This is because, while in circulation, someone could take off the hologram, copy the private key, and apply a new non-custom hologram and pass off the bill.

This is a problem because the minimum that I can get away with spending is $1500 on custom holograms. That is quite a large investment, and one that I am reluctant to make since I would mean that I would have to sell about 1,500-3000 bills to cover my initial investment (depending on the markup). It is possible, but that is quite a bit to put out to just break even in what a year or two?

I want to break even immediately and not on some future date after sinking huge amounts of time into it.

So today I thought of a solution, a very hacker-ish solution. I am not going to tell you what it is though. I would like to see if the security minds can come up with it themselves this weekend.

So let me spell out the exact problem that you have to figure out:

* Must be cheap (Less than $0.20 per unit) with less than $100 investment
* Must protect a private key on a paper bill, and be obvious when someone has exposed the private key
* Must be fast and easy to do on large sets of bills
* Must be unique and very hard for someone else to replicate

My solution is far from perfect, not exactly elegant, and I'll need to see it can handle a decent attack. But it might work.
Just tell us your solution... Why make us *guess* for it lol?
1227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: GoldCoins (GC) Idea promotion on: December 03, 2011, 04:13:27 AM
I really like the idea of "Delato-Coin", and someone should definitely try it, but you have not put this plan together very well. + You can't code.

Good luck getting one of the developers here to take time out of their already busy schedules to implement your poorly thought out plan.
1228  Economy / Speculation / Re: Soon on: December 03, 2011, 04:02:45 AM
I have a guts feeling that we are entering a unprecedented volatility region, wild swings were encountered the last time from 2 to 3.5 but this time there are the big players involved.
All it would take is some counterpart to the person who owns the bidwall @2.9.

I think this time we are heading for 100% swings between 2 and 4, with the final result uncertain. Of course there is a possibility that the bidwall remains unchallenged in which case we would have stagnation and slow downwards movement till we reach the wall. Anyway I liquidated my long position, the amount of selling makes me doubt further upside this weekend.

Unless of course the buywall pops, that did cause a panic sell off every time.
Was thinking the same thing.

http://www.infowars.com/study-proves-fluoride-brain-damage/

“High levels of fluoride in drinking water (1-12ppm) affect central nervous system directly without first causing the physical deformities of skeletal fluorosis.” Reddy writes in the Journal of Medical and Allied Sciences. Damage to the hippocampus often results in hyperactivity and cognitive deficits.

Numerous studies conducted in China, India, Iran, and Mexico have determined that fluoride exposure is associated with IQ deficits in children.

The correlation between fluoride exposure and diminished IQ was underscored earlier this year after the results of a study in China were published. “A recent Chinese study concluded that low dose sodium fluoride in drinking water diminishes IQ, especially among children. This is the twenty-fourth such international study with the same conclusion. Sodium fluoride has also been linked to reduced fertility and lower sperm counts,” Paul Fassa wrote for Natural News in April.

Stop linking me to infowars when citing a study.
1230  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Yahoo News and Witcoin Ripoff on: December 03, 2011, 03:29:53 AM
Main point:

The problem with tweet forum, witcoin, etc. is that there is no nucleus of content. People are not going to start writing stuff just
because of the voting mechanism. They need something that interests them to write about. Thus the idea of hijacking yahoo's content.

Free vs. Pay:

By free, I meant that you could post for free, but then you wouldn't be able to earn anything.
You could also vote on free posts, but they would get low priority for display.

Voting would also be free. Standard use of a login such as openID to limit voting manipulation.
Also people who pay to post should be able to vote with more weight (say 5 times as much weight as an unpaid vote).

You OBVIOUSLY haven't been to Tweet Forum, if you think there's no content.

EDIT: Right now people can post on Tweet Forum, on content from ALL OVER THE INTERNET (just like Yahoo, and actually sometimes better :p) and get paid BITCOINS for it. No BS.

Now the voting mechanism, along with TONS of functionality is still missing. But SMF can only go so far...

That's why I am working on TF 2.0 find out more about it here.

1231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Yahoo News and Witcoin Ripoff on: December 03, 2011, 03:11:11 AM
Witcoin was around a while ago, but wasn't successful. It was based on paying people bitcoin when their posts were upvoted. People had to pay to post.
It's a nice idea, but had asinine content.

As an alternative, would it be possible to piggy back on yahoo content? Say you made a site exclusively devoted to yahoo news links. Then you would not need to bootstrap meaningful content yourself. Yahoo would make it.

People love to post rabid comments on yahoo and vote on them. The principle is that yahoo creates the content and the site offers a forum for commenting on it.
The site could feature some stats about the earnings and losses of registered users to encourage competition. You would also be able to look at their comments.

I think payment should be optional. Payment would allow you to earn money from upvotes. However, you would lose money if you got fewer upvotes than average.
It would be a competition and the site would skim some off the top.

I know the thought of this site is sickening, but in my experience that is positively correlated with success and popularity.
This is the same thing we are planning with Tweet Forum 2.0. The more Retweets your post gets, the more coins you make  Cool.

For now you can post for Bitcoins at Tweet Forum

I'm taking odds on who is the next Coinhunter groupie to be thrown out on the streets Viper Lemon Bitch or Clipse?

I cannot even believe I am about to semi defend Coinhunter, but let's get real Flip. You come over here trash talking CH and expect to NOT get banned?  Grin Grin Grin
LOL thats what gets me. I was DEFENDING HIM, despite all the bullshit, and unfavorable decisions he has made as commander.

RS has done nothing, I am just tired of battling all the FUD. And to be quite honest right now, SC seems like more of a liability than an investment. This is sad because I like many here own NMC,SC,and LTC.
I mean when I say that, all these "altcoins" have "weaknesses", and investing in them is risky as HELL.
1233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Demoted&Banned for speaking "bad" about Solidcoin on: December 02, 2011, 11:55:54 PM
I wont be posting there anymore RS.

Thank you for unbanning my account, but if you listen to people like Rico, I have no faith in the future of Solidcoin.

Maybe he'll make a good moderator now that I'm gone.  Undecided

I wasn't listening to only rico, he is just another in a long line of people that have questioned why you are a moderator. Your behaviour has just gotten progressive worse which is why it was done now. I don't think you need that pressure of being a moderator and having people take cheap shots at you like they have. If you value the "community" here and don't want some of them insulting you because you're a mod or using you as some political talk piece then not being a mod is a good start for that.

Are you still going to come good on those SC offers you made to other people or are you also turning your back on that too?
Yeah Migi won the design contest. Please tell him to PM me and I will pay out his winnings I promised.

EDIT: I am not turning my back on anything. I was the one that got  Demoted AND Banned for no reason.

The biggest thing that I don't get about you RS, is you can't simply come out and say.

I'M HUMAN
I said some STUPID SHIT when SC1 was first started, and made promises I simply could not keep. And now I am trying my best to fix all these issues in a timely manner, all because…
I'M HUMAN

Sorry for messing up.

Is it that hard for you RS?

You haven't been banned flippro, you were just removed as a moderator. I think people expect a certain behaviour when you have a higher standing in the community and you failed to meet those standards. So now you're just a normal user and people won't hold you high in SolidCoin terms anymore, allowing you the freedom to speak your mind without that pressure. Better for all involved isn't it?
I show as "guest".

People only show as guest when someone bans them. Maybe you didn't ban me, but someone did...
1236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Demoted-Banned for speaking "bad" about Solidcoin on: December 02, 2011, 11:28:37 PM
He portrays himself to be someone who listens to all opinions. This has now been proven to be false...

EDIT: As a ex-mod (LOL) over there, I can testify that posts aren't "deleted" regularly like some here claim.

@FlipPro, I have absolutely zero sympathy for you as you were one the hard core Solidcoin fanboys early on. Everything you are suddenly having an epiphany on right now was evident to many of us here on the day it launched. Concerning the deleted post, I personally made more than 25 post over there asking legitimate questions about SC20 prior to launch. I also asked questions about the source code after launch. I was banned and my post heavily edited before finally being removed.
I have no sympathy for anyone who was trolling the SLC forum and got legitimately banned. I can reference to about 20 threads, including some of my OWN threads asking these very same legitimate questions, most of these posts are still there. However, I am only one person and I have been working on behalf of the entire crypto-community to keep information as transparent as possible. Look at this thread for example http://solidcointalk.org/topic/382-some-concerns/ . SO much censorship right?
1237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Demoted-Banned for speaking "bad" about Solidcoin on: December 02, 2011, 11:03:57 PM
Apparantley I have been demoted as moderator, and basically banned from the Solidcoin forum.
This is for speaking "bad" about RS.
http://solidcointalk.org/topic/482-solidcointalk-mod-bashing-rs-at-bitcoin-forum/

Honestly, you should not have been surprised. RS is quick with banning people on IRC. And there has been many cases of him censoring stuff on his forum. Say something bad about SC and RS on his forum, you will find yourself banned and your posts censored or cleaned up. Say something bad about SC and RS here, do you really expect to still be a moderator on his forum? Smiley

He portrays himself to be someone who listens to all opinions. This has now been proven to be false...

EDIT: As a ex-mod (LOL) over there, I can testify that posts aren't "deleted" regularly like some here claim.
1238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Demoted-Banned for speaking "bad" about Solidcoin on: December 02, 2011, 10:53:04 PM
I can see how that might be upsetting.

Since you are in the know, do you mind explaining what advantages you think that Solidcoin has over Bitcoin?
There is none.

This project started off as ONE THING and has morphed into an ugly manifestation of one man’s frustrations at never living up to any of his own expectations.

EDIT:

I am replying to this entire drama on here, because honestly I am not going to waste my time creating a new account over at slctalk.

RS I was not speaking "bad" about you in this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=53394.msg636801#msg636801. If anything I was just letting my feelings out on how disgusted I have become with this entire section of the forum. However, EVEN IF I WAS talking bad about you, being banned and demoted is not the way any serious adult handles any situation.

Migi
If you would like your payment for winning the design contest please message me for payment in BTC.

I am a man of my word, and I won't let you shove me out of the community and make me out to be the "bad guy", when I didn't do anything other than express my frustrations on all the bullshit that you claim.
1240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SolidCoin Exploited. on: December 01, 2011, 08:28:51 AM
Well started a thread on this page I found about mining the trusted blocks on SolidCoin and one of the SC trolls had this to post in the thread apparently the page was correct and someone has exploited the "unbreakable code of the master programmer" RS.

Yeah there was an exploit which currently takes some of the CPF payment away from the CPF in the trust blocks and instead gives it to an address supplied by the attacker. It's mostly been limited though with code given to the trust nodes, exchanges and larger pools. There currently isn't much SC going to the CPF each day, so the amount they got was quite small. The trust node system has allowed us to pretty much nullify any serious attack vector that was possible (as unlikely as they were it did highlight some more things we needed to tie down).

There will be a new version out soon which signs the trust blocks themselves so that they cannot be altered and "reused" at all.

What I find weird on that page though is the fact it's revenge for Litecoin, they think we had something to do with their spam or something? Quite weird when we already know one person who has admitted to spamming in the past and thinks it's a valid "testing tool" , ie artforz. The guy who is also likely behind this exploit.

SAC

I am no more of a SC troll than you are a LTC troll.
