Trading cash for power to receive BTC is always a win. Mining altcoin for profits? Be careful with those bags.

I clowned this asic talking with sidehack calling it a CPAP machine. The concept for hobbyists is on point, still not a novice asic. Some say neither are the industrial style but I'd probably start with a cheap s9 or 8 series canaan still.

I think fanatic called it on the other thread, that no farm is going to house these by the 10's of thousands. Though putting 1-5 of these in house would be better for the wife at home and much easier for sound management with all the sealing and acoustic absorption I've done.

Happy wife happy life.

Just have it listed as a space heater since profits are down. Otherwise plan ahead and document it if you don't want to deal with delays. 2.8% or bust. We're firm believers that consumers shouldn't pay duties. It's not your fault manufacturing is overseas because US businesses don't want a domestic middle class anymore. Vote and change shit. Off soap box now.

PS. 1 year ROI is a good return for any new business. Mine on.
1223  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Fulijuntuan TITAN 110TH 3200watts 32watts/TH? Real or Not? on: August 29, 2018, 12:17:37 AM
LOL wow, I have some s7's I can paint to. The asicminer is a scam, sad to see Vosk sold out there. Rep is hard to build, getting it back practically impossible.
1224  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New: Bitmains S9 Hydro 18TH ! on: August 28, 2018, 11:12:50 PM
Home mining is a huge untapped consumer market. I made a comment on one of the other threads that this would be maintenance heavy. So not industrial scale nor beginning/starting miner either for hobbyists. Price point as well needs some work but that's not much a surprise in the industry.
1225  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New: Bitmains S9 Hydro 18TH ! on: August 28, 2018, 07:34:24 PM
Yea, I'm thinking the same probably one of these and canaan blades.
1226  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New: Bitmains S9 Hydro 18TH ! on: August 28, 2018, 07:12:34 PM
Well, here is it world. I'm actually wondering how efficient it will be in  the winter here when ambient is around 50F. pricing is pretty inflated now. We'll expect a price drop in a couple weeks if just 18th/s unless market holds current up trend. I think we have it listed at 1.4k for the whole "set".
1227  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [180PH] ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool US/DE/CN on: August 28, 2018, 07:06:57 PM
We'll I'm happy to help host a few units for the exhaust trade off. Nothing permanent, but happy to help those here if needed. I completely understand why no one would take me up on this. lol
1228  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 17.2TH/s, 1570W Innosilicon announces the most powerful and efficient BTC Miner on: August 27, 2018, 07:26:35 PM
Hey, that efficiency mode looks pretty good and shouldn't be a fire hazard.

We'll it's getting cooler in the north again. At least for us on the pacific. I would love to run one. At the price I paid for the last set of asics in Jan I could have 6 of T2T or 15 of another brand.

Looks like best price for these is coming with crypto payments and a wire send. Knock transaction fees down to balance out the wire cost. Real saving can hit or not at import.

Three is a record for us, at least since I've been here. I'll have a beerwhiskeywinescotchburbon to go with this triple block steak dinner.

Sign, I guess there's not a lot of old wow players here. ..  at least I have a good laugh at this.

Happy block Sunday!

18th's at 1700w isn't a game changer. Plus think of the downtime scrubbing scum from tubes will bring.
1233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bought an Innosillicon A9 ZMaster on: August 26, 2018, 05:29:54 AM
Mike there is a lot happening here and in the wrong area of the forum. This is bitcoin section, I imagine this will get moved as appropriate.

There are the tons of factors why your profits are less. Mainly market price is down and difficulty is up on the coin your mining. More asics are being shipped and turned on daily. Depending on what you paid you're a bit late to the party. From here it's up to you as any advice would only be suggestion regardless of quality or not.

If your new to mining it might be ok to cut loss and sell unit. But mining $50 a day should ROI a $9k purchase about 190 days with .12 power. Which isn't bad but diff will continue to rise and profits will fall again. The things to consider are do you have capital to increase your hash rate for more profits or do you believe market will rebound and you'll see better ROI again. Or both.

Again there are a lot more factors at play as well but the main two in my opinion to answer your question is the the difficulty rise and bear market.

Tough decisions all mines have to consider. Good luck.
1234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: August 26, 2018, 04:49:47 AM
Vosk did bad by putting his face with that machine. Even he admits he's shilling for them and clearly states he wouldn't buy it. No poolside hash is shown. Buy z9 or an a9 with that money. 9k is a good amount of mini's.
1235  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 17.2TH/s, 1570W Innosilicon announces the most powerful and efficient BTC Miner on: August 26, 2018, 03:42:31 AM
Brokers here are saying Inno's market conversion is getting better. Been able to catch decent pricing with BTC instead instead of wires more often.
1236  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint T1 16TH/S halongmining.com on: August 25, 2018, 06:30:35 PM
Is Halong Mining still alive?

It has been so quiet after the Innosilicon T2.

Bit of a falling out maybe as the T2 from Inno was supposed to be Halong's next unit. Not sure about what had happened but I imagine logistically it was a mess working through three entities to produce the unit. Which was a bit obvious as shipment dates were pushed back way to far for the T1 from what was advertised for a lot of clients/customers.

Just got a shipping notification from DHL. Should be delivered by August 28. I placed my order on June 6.

Hooray, me too! I placed a couple orders a month or so apart... and it looks like they all went in the mail about 4 hours ago.

i would like for someone to please tell me how much noise this baby is making. i really would like to get at least 1 but i need to know how loud it is. i can't stand to much noise in my apartment Smiley

Depends on settings and fan speed. At 650w draw I'd hope only 60 db's stock. We never got a testing unit or even a temporary demo. Besides the Bogo split we never were able touch anything but the cardboard boxes for these for our buyers.
1240  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: PSU Arching on: August 25, 2018, 03:05:28 AM
Looking at the similarities I think the cause could have been they were sitting vertical on the rack not horizontal. Probably a combination of building heat at the top along with the higher ambient these summer months. Putting the one I have left side ways with the exhaust intake fan up reduced the temp at the highest point just by touch dramatically. As well the unit left has zero atx cables where the other two burnt up. Those cables were the ones at the highest point when vertical on the unit, at least how I had them sitting. Still will be replacing and use for gpu's or upcoming space heaters this winter if needed.

Evga says they'll look at the units.
