1221  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Legit Mining site? on: September 21, 2017, 03:23:40 AM
The closest to a legit mining site is Genesis. Not because its really legit but because its the biggest one out there. So maybe because of its size, you can have a better chance to get an ROI in BTC, which is something very rare in cloudmining contracts.
1222  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Liqui.io - No Support = Stealing Coins on: September 21, 2017, 03:18:28 AM
Its better for you to keep emailing them or go to their official service announcement thread here in the forum. Another way to get their attention is leave a comment in their Twitter account here its more public.
1223  Economy / Exchanges / Re: HITBTC - LOSS OF MONEY / SCAM / THIEVES on: September 21, 2017, 03:15:23 AM
Sorry for what happened, but did you really have 2FA activated? It would be almost impossible for the hacker to log in your account and withdraw for BTC if you had it activated. Its very easy to create a new account in the forum and make up a bunch of posts.

1224  Economy / Exchanges / Re: IS IT SAFE TO STORE BITCOINS AND OTHER COINS ON MY BITTREX ACCOUNT? on: September 21, 2017, 03:08:28 AM
its safe as long your account not be hijaked by others
fast transfer and support action also satisfying the costumers. but avoid Poloniex

But it is never ever 100% safe to store everything you hold in any exchange. If you dont have control of the private keys, you dont truly own those coins. You should advice the newbs not to trust exchanges and other centralized services.

What you said is correct but if someone bought coins to sell in short-term then can hold them in exchange but account should be enabled with 2fa function otherwise people can easily hack your account and steal all your coins. But it is not advised to store your long-term coins in any exchanges because don't know when these exchanges will be hacked or closed so you should store on your local wallets.

Thats still not safe if the exchange will suddenly close and steal all your coins. With the bigger and more trusted exchanges, maybe you can trust them with your coins for a few days. But for the smaller ones that are more vulnerable and where its more possible to your coins stolen, never.

1226  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase seizing accounts on: September 20, 2017, 03:07:29 AM
If you aren't the sole controller of your private keys, you don't have any bitcoins.

Ive been posting the same over and over in the forum but it sometimes falls on deaf ears. There are also some newbs advising other newbs that its ok to store everything they hold in an exchange because they are trusted by the community.

Maybe legendary members like you should call them out not to make terrible advice that could lead to loss of coins. I know some people who have invested a big part of their savings altcoins with the hopes of becoming rich.

ZBTCZ, the fees are usually very cheap these days. Wait for the unconfirmed transaction count to go down before sending.

I also trust Bittrex to hold my coins for a few days at a time, but Im never holding there for months.
1229  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin Bike-sharing? on: September 19, 2017, 01:53:00 AM
A question for everyone whp supports BTC as payments for this bike sharing business. If the company accepts BTC, do you think there would be enough people who would use it as their preferred form of payment? Do they have enough BTC users in Singapore to make it realistic for a company to accept BTC only?

1230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Trading experts, what are your toughts on Burst? on: September 19, 2017, 01:46:26 AM
indeed for now Burst is undervalued,
but for Proof of Capacity, burst is not the first and right not it's not really popular.
many people still using VGA,ASIC and others to mine it other than using Hardware to mine it.
Burst have a strong competitior such as maidsafe, storj, sia.
and a lot of problem happened in the Burst past month.so for now it's quite hard for them to get pump.
it still have a lot room to grow, but if something like that happened again in the future,a lot of people will lose their confident in holding this coin.
all i can say is Burst is a longterm investment for now

Do you know what Burst's proof of capacity really is? It doesnt have any competitors because no other altcoin is using it as a mining algorithm.

Maidsafe and Storj dont have their own blockchains, they are just tokens in Omni and Ethereum and will not use proof of capacity from what I read. Sia is mined by GPUs and will have its own ASIC in the next coming years.

Proof of capacity is mining or plotting by using the unused space in your hard drive. Bram Cohen of Bittorrent is also going to use hard drives for mining in his new cryptocurrency that is yet to be released.
1231  Economy / Goods / Re: Will racks and frames for GPU mining be in demand? on: September 18, 2017, 04:15:57 AM
Ok thanks for the feedback. We will try to make one and upload pictures of it show everyone and try to see if its something the community wants. If we get enough demand or orders lets see what we can do.

Maybe we should also accept orders for custom made ones? Will that be better?
1232  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Skrill - upload funds whit bitcoin to USD, Fees on: September 18, 2017, 04:10:26 AM
They use Bitpay like what Neteller uses. If you didnt know, Skrill was obtained by Neteller and are owned by them now. If you want to see what exchange rate Skrill uses then go to the Bitpay site. https://bitpay.com/bitcoin-exchange-rates

Dont worry, their rates are always fair.
1233  Economy / Economics / Re: stocks VS cryptocurrencies : name the different between this two on: September 18, 2017, 04:02:37 AM
i believe Stocks and Cryptocurrencies are the same in some nature. Stocks prices are affected by global news as well as the Bitcoin and other Crypto. Stocks and Bitcoin can be thru investing or trading. Stocks are already established decades old. Bitcoins started 2009.

How can you say that? Stocks and cryptocurrencies are two very different investment vehicles.

A stock is a type of security that is issued by corporations that represents ownership. A cryptocurrency is considered by its followers as a type of digital asset used as a medium of exchange. It uses cryptography as a security measure and all the consensus rules for that distinct cryptocurrency.

It is easier to relate cryptocurrencies to ponzi schemes and pyramid schemes because theres no one backing it.
1234  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Something my blockchain.info wallet did on: September 18, 2017, 03:53:38 AM
Sometimes a simple logout then login back again will solve your problem. Blockchain.info's web interface is sometimes slow especially in low end computers and laptops.

If that does not work, do what BittBurger said.
1235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Trading experts, what are your toughts on Burst? on: September 18, 2017, 03:39:06 AM
Doesnt anyone have any analysis or opinions about this coin or Proof of capacity? I would say that its mining algorithm is its greatest feature and that its opening the future for a more energy efficient and a greener category of mining.

I ask the community and the expert traders, what is your outlook for Burst and does it have a future?

Literally no one cares about being green. This won't make you money.

No one literally cares now but we will be looking for a new way to mine cryptocurrencies in the future. All the warning signs are already there with more and more releases of new Asics for altcoins and with the shortage of GPUs for mining.

In my view, we have more than enough proof of work coins and it time for something new to be brought on the table. Developers looking for that something new should check Burst's Github and see how they can improve the proof of capacity algorithm.
1236  Economy / Goods / Will racks and frames for GPU mining be in demand? on: September 17, 2017, 03:54:59 AM
I have a friend who is an architect but hes taken some interest in cryptocurrencies. He said he can build racks and frames to use for placing all those GPU's for mining.

Is there a market for this, and is the demand enough for it to be its own business? He plans to ship them internationally.
1237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China will completely ban bitcoin on: September 17, 2017, 03:30:22 AM
All BTC exchanges outside of China should start stemming off from the prices of BTC in the Chinese exchanges. Everyone already knows that they are the only part of the BTC world in crisis. All the rest are just ok and its business as usual.

Bitcoin doesnt need China but the Chinese people will need BTC.

1239  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: end of genesis mining ? on: September 17, 2017, 02:56:25 AM
Cloud miners has always been scammy no question about it. The business is little risky because you never know when does the mining will get very difficult and maintenance would kill the profits in the future. I'm not sure what's happening with cloud mining now a days but that is for sure all the news about bitcoin going illegal in different countries which impact the bitcoin industry in negative way always.

This adds up bogus mining stuff around the cloud miners leading to scams and ponzi schemes. The thing is we should know that investing in such way is not the trusted way. Let's see how genesis tackle the current scenario.

To be fair with Genesis, they did a good job in maintaining their business for this this long considering their size. Most cloudmining sites dont have a lifespan of more than 2 years. Marketing and having whales invest in it from the beginning really made it go a long way.

But it will all end soon.
1240  Economy / Economics / Re: JP Morgan betting on Bitcoin on: September 17, 2017, 02:51:26 AM
“If you were in Venezuela or Ecuador or North Korea or a bunch of parts like that, or if you were a drug dealer, a murderer, stuff like that, you are better off doing it in bitcoin than U.S. dollars,” he said. “So there may be a market for that, but it’d be a limited market.”

To be sure, Dimon later noted that his daughter purchased some bitcoin.

Does that mean Jaime Dimon should fire her daughter from being his daughter? Or should he fire himself from being the dad of someone who purchased some BTC?

Whatever it is, his daughter must be the smart one in the family. Jaime Dimon should talk and listen to her more often.
