Does it have a future and will Proof of Capacity become one of the greener ways to mine cryptocurrencies?

Im buying lots of Burstcoins now at this price range because I think its very undervalued and that it has a lot more to offer for the advancement of mining cryptocurrencies.

How long would Burst take to reach a 100 million $ valuation in coinmarketcap.com?

Doesnt anyone have any analysis or opinions about this coin or Proof of capacity? I would say that its mining algorithm is its greatest feature and that its opening the future for a more energy efficient and a greener category of mining.

I ask the community and the expert traders, what is your outlook for Burst and does it have a future?

No one literally cares now but we will be looking for a new way to mine cryptocurrencies in the future. All the warning signs are already there with more and more releases of new Asics for altcoins and with the shortage of GPUs for mining.

In my view, we have more than enough proof of work coins and it time for something new to be brought on the table. Developers looking for that something new should check Burst's Github and see how they can improve the proof of capacity algorithm.

ACOIN is "green" too.

Jan 1st 2017 - $3,230

Sep 16th 2017 - $141,743

This is an increase of 4288.33% since the start of 2017. This didn't happen overnight as a pump. This has been a healthy climb over the last 9+ months. The marketcap is still extremely low leaving a lot more room to grow and still a huge opportunity for new investors. This coin has an active dev, working wallets, exchanges, a growing community, very low supply, very low inflation, mining support, and fast transactions. This is an established coin with a blockchain over 3 years old. It is still extremely undervalued.

indeed for now Burst is undervalued,
but for Proof of Capacity, burst is not the first and right not it's not really popular.
many people still using VGA,ASIC and others to mine it other than using Hardware to mine it.
Burst have a strong competitior such as maidsafe, storj, sia.
and a lot of problem happened in the Burst past month.so for now it's quite hard for them to get pump.
it still have a lot room to grow, but if something like that happened again in the future,a lot of people will lose their confident in holding this coin.
all i can say is Burst is a longterm investment for now

Speaking of Storj, do you think it has growth potential as maidsafe? I was thinking to invest on it but i kind of hesitated.

Do you know what Burst's proof of capacity really is? It doesnt have any competitors because no other altcoin is using it as a mining algorithm.

Maidsafe and Storj dont have their own blockchains, they are just tokens in Omni and Ethereum and will not use proof of capacity from what I read. Sia is mined by GPUs and will have its own ASIC in the next coming years.

Proof of capacity is mining or plotting by using the unused space in your hard drive. Bram Cohen of Bittorrent is also going to use hard drives for mining in his new cryptocurrency that is yet to be released.

Long story (kind-of) short:

1) BURST is unique in using the Proof-of-Capacity for mining. If you compare it to storj, sia or maidsafe, you do not know what you're talking about. Inform yourself

2) The situation of BURST today is almost incomparable to the situation of BURST 6 weeks ago. The PoC Consortium (PoCC) is revamping the coin from ground up.
You can actually use the word "rebirth".
https://steemit.com/burstcoin/@walczakit/rebirth-of-burstcoin-despite-the-big-dip-in-crypto-markets
(no, it's not my article)

3) Burst is ridiculously low and undervalued right now. Because the market is oblivious. It really is and there is proof. When BURST was totally broken, the market was able to push price to 932 Sat. Now, that BURST is in a 1000 times better shape than at that time, it hovers above 200 Sat. It's actually fun to watch it and then hear people addressing themselves as "trading experts". Wink

Apart from these rational considerations, I have a gut feeling that the markets will remain oblivious and emotional. Should FOMO kick in (and it will), BURST may experience one of the wildest rides in crypto history. Why? Because as soon as someone finds out that a coin offering more than Ethereum is worth in Satoshi what Ethereum is worth in Euro... Cheesy

It has been almost two months since you made this post and the price went down by 60% from BTC.00000200. Does your comment still hold true?

I like Burst but sometimes I think I made a mistake of buying it too early. Looking back, holding BTC is better.

burst had a lack of development over the last few years. It is the only POC but maybe that is for a good reason

Right now it is not possible to justify because their developments are not up to the mark and the value of Burst is completely in down trend. It is impossible to guess in the present situations. There are many coin being launched daily with proof of work but how far these coin can secure good reputation in the market no one knows.

The developers of the PoCC are doing a good job from what we have seen in all the weekly announcements on burstcoin.ist. The Burst platform is more stable than ever and there will be new features coming.

But there might be another rival group trying to keep the price down from my perspective. Could it be Burst Nation?

If you want to stockpile Burst then do so now or wait a bit when the price is 50-60 sats. Ever since that big pump that brought price up like crazy there has virtually been no upwards movement and it's pretty much due right now.

I'm not sure if their dev team is the best or whatever, i haven't seen it much. But i've seen some channels on youtube heavily endorsing it(such as adam guerbuez).

I would actually go with SC or even LBC than burst tbh. Just feels like burst's volume is just way too small.

Bram Cohen, inventor of BitTorrent is launching a new coin that will compete with burst. Would not buy burst at this price.

A few months ago, I was so close to investing in a burst mining rig. However upon doing further research, it seems that the community keeps fighting and competing within each other. Aside from that the burst network was hacked. How can I invest in a coin with so many problems? I mean there are so many other coins out there with great potential but without burst's problems.

Chia is still a year away from release and from what I have been reading, it might be another ICO or there might be a for profit company behind its development just what like Zcash did. Lets wait for more official announcements before we start musing about another Proof of Capacity coin.

I also hope theres a charting expert who would be nice enough to make an analysis on Burst and would make a mid to long term forecast. Rico666's prediction of BTC.00001 to .BTC000025 by December will not happen from my perspective.

Hello my fellow forumites, I am lost. Although I am optimistic with Burst's future basing on their roadmap, I am not too optimistic in the short term with the dump happening right in the time of releasing Burst wallet version 2.0.0.

I think theres an intentional dump to keep the price down done by the people from Burstnation. How influential are they really in the Burst ecosystem?

As I know Burst is the only coin can be mined by free space on HDD, maybe it's the easy coin can be mined at the moment Smiley. Because it's very easy to mine without investing too much money like other crypto so I don't think it'll be a good choice to invest in and there are no chance for Burst to reach to 100m$. LOL. You're a dreamer guy Smiley. There are a lot of other choices but why you have to choose Burst, a low potential crypto?
