12201  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Recommend me a signature campaign [AKA How to get in a sig campaign] on: June 12, 2016, 08:58:57 AM
Yup.  I finally got accepted, but I'm under probation though...  So I must be careful on my posts.  But I think it's a good thing overall as Bitcointalk has pretty much evolved from a message board to a commerce board somewhat.  The things we take for granted like reputation and quality posts really matters a lot around here.  I wish I maintained my post quality all throughout and increased the value of my account.  It's amazing how a simple forum could evolve like this all thanks to Bitcoin.

Maybe one day I ought to write a "Newbies Guide to Bitcointalk".  Smiley
12202  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Soccer Transfer Market 2016/2017 ! on: June 12, 2016, 05:17:54 AM
Juventus set to sign Roma’s Miralem Pjanic for £30m after clause triggered.

Source:  The Guadian

So I guess that means Pogba is going out?  If yes, then I guess the big question is where is he going?  So far the most likely destination is Real Madrid.  But don't count Man United out, as they are trying to revamp their squad and might start the season going for the EPL trophy under Jose Mourinho.  So they need a player like Pogba.

MCFC and Chelsea were also said to have an interest in Pogba proposing swap deals + money with Juventus...

Where do you think he's going guys?
12203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH will be killed off by XCP. Here is why. on: June 12, 2016, 05:01:24 AM
Is it a good time to buy XCP?

From a trading standpoint, no.  It's not trending, just stay in the sidelines for now.

There was a mini pump that started on June 8, 2016 at Poloniex but a quick dump followed two days later.  This reminds me of my penny stocking days where marketers and spammers recommend a certain stock...  Some news after comes out, followed by a short pump, then a quick dump.

I guess they make money out of the scheme and works like a charm on the newbs a lot.
12204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH will be killed off by XCP. Here is why. on: June 12, 2016, 04:48:38 AM
found this online:
https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/counterparty-brings-ethereum-smart-contracts-to-the-bitcoin-blockchain/

When counterparty enables running smart contracts from your btc-adress then it defeats the whole purpose of the Ethereum network because:

-running xcp will be more convenient in particular for btc-users than actually running eth
-xcp and btc are likely better distributed than eth
-xcp provides higher security thanks to pow-hash in btc
-these contracts not only more convient to run, they are also cheaper to run AND hold because of much lower inflation and in xcp you don't have to pay that useless hash in eth that's actually just producing heat currently. So in xcp no additional hash needs to be payed.

XCP is significantly cheaper to run and more convenient to the bitcoin-user than ETH is.

Now can someone tell me again why anyone should use ETH instead of XCP? ETH lost its usecase and bullish outlook entirely thanks to this news.

All comments and opinions welcome but please keep it civil.

Disclaimer: i am not holding any ETH or XCP at the moment.

Bitcoin has its own set of problems regarding scalability and blockchain bloat as well.  It is already reaching it's limit per block, shouldn't we be concerned about Counterparty inserting even more data in the blockchain?  It was already considered as spam by some people a couple of years ago, and that was before smart contracts.  What more now?

12205  Economy / Gambling / Re: Best site to Gamble? on: June 12, 2016, 03:14:24 AM
For me all of them are good. But im searching for the best ? Can someone tell what is it ?

Define best.  You know it's really hard to find what the 'best' gambling site is for someone if you don't know what that person is into.  Some people like betting on sports, some love to play poker, while others like dice games or casino games...  It really depends on what you're into.  But for a person who just wants to pass the time and wants to gamble, I suggest playing slot machines.
12206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: June 11, 2016, 01:50:36 PM
i don't know these rumours true or false because i saw these news several minutes ago and seems Bale want go back to england
and Man Utd will officially offering €120 millions for buying him
if the rumors are true, then you will create a new transfer in the history of Manchester United.
The other rumours manchester united want to buy back paul pogba and their management has given an offer to juventus.

Pogba is going to Real according to reports.  And those in the know in Spain and Italy are considering it a done deal and it's only a matter of time before they officially announce it.
12207  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: June 11, 2016, 01:47:08 PM
Edit:  Oh, and may I add that Bale to Man United would make a good signing from a club standpoint.  Remember MCFC has Pep Guardiola and who knows who his big signing will be (I think Lewandoski).

Lewandowski will turn into crap if he decided to move into manchester city. Manchester city has aguero and pep could be interested with vardy as well. Lewandowski is only tough in germany league and we know that germany league is pretty much low level league where munich and dortmund dominated everything

I don't think so.  Aguero needs the back up if they intend to win the EPL and the CL.  And we know they want that CL trophy really bad.  Relying solely on Aguero will be a step backward for City.  Plus the competiton between them in training will make them better players.  If you have only Aguero as the star forward, this usually results in that player becoming stale and mediocre.  So signing Lewondoski or another good forward is a good idea.

Maybe this guy could fit in with City as well...

Well Mourinho should use that money wisely, with that amount, it would buy him several good players instead just get Bale only. Bale could be another Di Maria in Man United, they can't treat a good player on his best position. I think Bale wont leave Real Madrid before win La Liga as the only tournament he hasnt won yet in Spain.

He could be another disappointment like Di Maria, but that only has a tiny bit of chance of happening.  Bale has EPL experience and was doing an excellent job with Tottenham before he moved to La Liga.  IMO a player moving from La Liga to the EPL will have a much difficult time adjusting, maybe due to the weather, the tougher competition and various other reasons.  In La Liga on the other hand, it is a much easier league to adjust in for a player as there are only two clubs competing for the title year in and year out (ok 3 with the emergence of Atletico).

So Bale going to La Liga did have some adjustments on his part, but nothing he cannot handle.  Di Maria to EPL had a much harder time adjusting, and it didn't help that their manager is LVG too.

The weather and tough competition arent a problem for La Liga players to play in Premier League, it has been proven by David Silva, Juan Mata, De Gea, Bellerin, etc. Even La Liga team can win in England in some UCL matches. The only problem is how the club and manager treat their stars. Under Sir Alex, Man United rarely bought expensive players, so we can say there is no burden for every new players he has brought. But after Sir Alex retired, there are few expensive players, and their fans surely expected them too much than usual, it's a burden for them actually. Look how bad Falcao and Di Maria play, not because they are bad players, but the club can treat them properly. With that high price, the whole club assuming the players can play in every position, but they can't. But, now Man United have Martial, a young player with high price, and the best part is he can play in every position van Gaal set. I suppose he will be a superstar someday.

That's true.  There are players from La Liga that did well when they switched to the EPL.  But that doesn't mean that the EPL isn't tougher than La Liga.  The EPL is the toughest league in Europe, especially this coming season where there are more good managers at good clubs.  In La Liga, there only two clubs fighting for  trophy, well now 3 with the recent emergence of Atletico.  But historically, in La Liga there's only Barca and Real.

In the EPL on the other hand, big clubs like Man United or Chelsea can lose on any given match vs smaller clubs like Stoke or Southampton.  The league is really unpredictable, especially now that Tottenham and Liverpool are showing signs that they want to be in that top 4 too.  Also Leicester showed us that anything is possible in the EPL.

As for Falcao and Di Maria.  Falcao had a bum knee, I don't know why LVG signed him on loan.  That was a stupid move.  As for Di Maria, he just flopped.  You can say that he didn't gel well with the team, or maybe LVG just didn't use him strategically well enough.  But bottom line, and using the matches he played as evidence, he obviously didn't adjust well in the EPL.  I'm not saying this happens with all La Liga players, but it happens to many of them.  The defense in the EPL are bigger, tougher, pacier and more physical than what they're used to in La Liga.

12211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think of Breakoutcoin? on: June 11, 2016, 04:31:46 AM
The BRO coin uses two algorithms, Proof of Work (PoW) & Proof of Bergstake. Bergstake is like Proof of Stake – but not… Sort of. More on that later.

Breakout has the backing of poker all-stars Johnny Chan, Huck Seed, Jennifer Harman, Ted Forrest, Todd Brunson and Vladimir Shchemelev. That’s over 38 World Series of Poker bracelets in case anyone was keeping score.

Currently 1BTC = 6,000 BRO.

But remember, they professional poker players and not developers.  So it's not a guarantee that the project will be a total success.  Maybe some of them have good business acumen, but they are gambling degenerates mostly.  Check their history on prop bets and you'll be surprised.

Having said that, why not post who the developers they're working with are and their credentials in and out of crypto.  Although some experience with working as a dev in a legit crypto project should be a must.
12212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC Fight Night 89: Rory vs. Wonderboy. Share your predictions. on: June 11, 2016, 04:23:29 AM
I think Thompson could outstrike Rory since he's a 57 - 0 kickboxer.  So I can see there some value in betting a Thompson win via 1st round KO, maybe starting at +450...?

But then again if it goes to the distance, there could be value on Rory winning via decision starting at +275.

What do you guys think?  At first impression in looking for value lines, that's what I would look for mostly in this fight.
12213  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Recommend me a signature campaign on: June 11, 2016, 03:54:50 AM
for me, best signature campaign is secondstrade, they have good rate and is paying every week without any problem. you just need to post your info, OP will check you posts and if they suits to him, you will be accepted.

this is the thread of secondstrade: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=907271.0

good luck

Good rate? You call that good rate? Grin Even spammers wouldn't like to be there, they would prefer YoBit. I see that people who got banned from spamming when they were still in the YoBit campaign had migrated in secondstrade. I think that's the lowest paying signature campaign today.

I think tokeweed's post quality has gone back to what it was -- 1 liner posts. He was doing good when he first started in BitBuku.co campaign but after a day, he started posting 1 to 2 liner posts again. Oh well, just try YoBit campaign. They don't mind 2 liner posts if it's constructive and on topic.

Sometimes it's unavoidable and one sentence is enough to get your point across.  A lot of times, people's posts have the feel that they are trying too hard because they are in a campaign.  Some of them are long but written in broken English.  Where's the quality in that?

Edit:  Happy to say that I might get accepted in Betcoin's signature campaign.  I'm still waiting for the campaign manager's reply via PM.  But I started wearing the avatar and sig anyway.  Crossing my fingers...
12214  Economy / Gambling / Re: Should PrimeDice start to allow gambling with other cryptocurrencies? on: June 11, 2016, 03:10:53 AM
In my opinion, the safest choice is to add Litecoin if they decided to add another cryptocurrency.  LTC has good volume and liquidity across the board in 4 - 5 exchanges, so there's no problem there in selling LTC.  Its price vs fiat is also somewhat predictable and almost follows that of BTC, and that's a good thing.  So almost no hedging required just to prevent losses when the market for crypto becomes really active.  All you have to worry about are prices in fiat.

I see some people are suggesting ETH.  The volume and liquidity are good, but I think it's way too early for sites to accept it.  I say wait for a year or two and see what happens.
12215  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Just another example of Martingale lose on: June 11, 2016, 03:00:21 AM
Don't know who this guy is but he lost over 3.8 BTC within a minute playing dice with martingale strategy. One of the largest lose I have encountered.

The martingale strategy is the quickest way to lose all your money when gambling.  He should be doing the reverse.  The more and more he loses, his bets should be getting smaller and smaller.  And as he wins, bets should be getting bigger.  To become a consistent winner is to keep your losses small and your winners big.  Your losses will be more compared to your wins, but snce you're only losing small, your big wins will make up for them.

Waves fiat connection is what makes it interesting, i see many fiat users getting in through the gateways.

So Waves Platform is going to be like Ripple?  Will it also have a built in exchange with Waves (the coin/token) usable as a bridge currency for easy currency conversion?

If so, then I think the Waves platform will be very interesting.

If you seriously think you have a gambling problem, you have to come out and tell your family and your closest friends.  They can help you and give you support.  Also, attend Gambler's Anonymous meetings if you have one in your town.
