Honeslty Im started to suspect multi accounts for trade manipulation which is disappointing giving my HR to this damn coin. Im switch to another CPU coin and let this die if so.

Huh

I'm not saying you're wrong necessarily but I will tell you that I'm on one side or the other of most of the trades here and I haven't seen any real evidence of manipulation. For the most part I see miners looking to cash out and people who want a position but would rather buy than mine. That's easily 90% of what I see.

What is it you think is manipulative about it?

Fake bids mostly that wont reply. I have a few other friends that have PMed the same people but never respond yet say they traded.

It seems like its just a few that buy. Yet theres been plenty of .001+ @ each MRO orders that really dont reply and say "Sorry I already bought" to all PMs.

Ive contacted others. Im switching really seems like a "few fish" biting now especially with whats just rumors spread

OK, I'll acknowledge that I don't PM people who list for the most part. Most of the trades I do are where I have an escrowed listing and people PM me. So it is possible you are right.

You could just ignore all the non-escrowed orders if you prefer. You'd see less of an order book with many fewer orders but none of the escrowed ones are fake I can guarantee that.

The GUI coming !!
Buy before it's too late!
Don't sell cheap
Even at 0.0016 it's cheap

+1

It would have cost me 0.35BTC for 24hours of 4x Amazon EC2 32 CPU rigs. With 4x 95H/s all I'd have received was a potential 62 MRO, IF I got lucky. Instead I bought 200+ MRO for 0.2 BTC.

Out of curiosity though, any miners here care to share their stats? I'd like to see a comparison between Amazon VM's and physical machines.

Good topic but please keep it off the trading thread...

Coming up on difficulty 10 million!

I have to say with pools and GUIs and exchanges this is all getting pretty exciting!

12231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO] Monero - Anonymous Currency Based on Ring Signatures on: May 11, 2014, 12:52:12 AM
Is this only one dev who did all this?

No. The original code code is from bytecoin and/or cryptonote (relationship between them is murky) who are or were some unknown number of developers. No one really knows, as they operate in secret. This is a non-premined fork which is a decentralized community project with several developers working on various things including the new GUI, pools, and exchanges.

12234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty for open source ByteCoin/Monero pool on: May 10, 2014, 11:34:54 PM
I agree too. Both for moral reason and because more pool means less centralization.

You can have more pools even with only one open source implementation Wink

Multiple decentralized implementation are good too though. If there a exploit or even just a bug in one implementation and all the pools using it get hacked or crash, the other pools wouldn't be affected.

I will likely solo mine for the foreseeable future and encourage others to do so even though payouts are erratic. So there will likely be a surviving network even if pools get hacked, but more layers of protection are better.

There was a pending trade for 5000 at 0.0011 which did not work out so that trade has been cancelled and the sell order at that price is still available.

NoodleDooddle and I are organizing a giveaway atm. You can see the Blog post here. It would be rather nice, if we could merge the giveaways. We already collected >1000 MRO.

Okay sounds good.

I'm suspending the giveaway as of this post. If you already sent me a valid request, it will be honored. The remainder (84.999995 MRO) has been sent to the fund.

12238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Spin-offs: bootstrap an altcoin with a btc-blockchain-based initial distribution on: May 10, 2014, 10:35:42 PM
allow bitcoin users to claim a share of any pre-mine in direct proportion to the percentage of bitcoin’s market cap they control.

If you are a bitcoin user, you can use your bitcoin private keys to claim a percentage of æther exactly equal to the percentage of the bitcoin market cap you controlled at the time of nucleus creation.

If I understood correctly, the more bitcoin you have, the more premine you'll get. In other words, the rich will get richer and Satoshi Nakamoto will get the lion's share of any altcoin premine.

Surely you had something else in mind, didn't you?

It's not "getting richer." The way spin-offs work economically is that the value of the spin-off is already included in the value of the parent. What happens is that the existing value is split between the new ex-spin off parent and the new instrument. How much accrues to each depend on the value the market attributes to each.

Time for a real exchange, that also the stupidest is getting a fair price.
yes prices are all ove the place, comkort promised by the 8th but that date has come and gone.
I have been voting on swaphole.com, BCN is currently # 1 on the list to be added but who knows if that will happen or not.

It is going to take more than voting (not that voting is bad). This coin is very different from all the bitcoin clones and it takes real development (and testing!) to add it to an exchange or create an exchange for it. It will happen, but it is going to take a while, and probably have rough edges at first.
