Did ALL 4 of you just jump in here and type up a post without paying any attention to the OP at all?
They most certainly did not watch the video. I've just shared this to someone and noticed that a thread about it was already created. It was actually really hilarious. I wouldn't mind a few of these videos of images to 'de-stress' the situation.

Update: " There was no download of a signature file of electrum (.asc file) from a UK IP on Apr 7th."

Zero factual evidence provided as always. Cut the bullshit. ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) The first step is something in the lines of: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FDQTV7I1.png&t=664&c=UPYqsr2kpKwNLA)

Is the hiding of email still not available? Also, my email on BTCtalk isn't exactly real... so is it still the same process of changing the email here, waiting 2 days, then trying to setup the account on beta*?
No, that is still not available. You will have to wait a while longer.

Let me quote something here: In decreasing order of likeliness: - Craig somehow fooled Gavin, private key of block 1 was not used.
- Gavin is lying, and Gavin's message was never shown by Craig to have been signed with the pk of block 1.
- ECSDA is broken.
- The moon is made out of cheese.
- Craig Wright is Satoshi
It will be quite interesting to see how this one plays out.

Tons of sockpuppet newbie accounts popping up and saying things like "Hahaha bitcoin ponzi scheme is just about to collapse"
Actually, I have already come to a conclusion that this is organized. Even though I can't attain any evidence (who knows who is behind the spambot), I do nuke a lot of them regularily. I wanted to keep quiet, but since you have already mentioned it, I might fill in. Not long ago the pattern (for a short amount of time) was something about "new coins coming to market and dump-ing" (I can't recall exact phrase); now the spammer is stating that "Craig will dump and crash the market". This is definitely not a coincidence (as it tends to happen with other negative news as well). And bear in mind that the media outlets who supplied the blanket coverage for this latest story deserve some blame for the manipulation, as they all have their regular name-checked experts, Gavin Andresen and Mike Hearn, to check Craig's working.
It is quite rare that some news-site or blog remains skeptical about this (IIRC the CNN article about it questions the claim rather than spreading the false information further). hopefully he will say something in the next 48 hours.
That is too long.

There are several theories as why Gavin has made that statement: 1) He's delusional. 2) He has been hacked. 3) Craig supports big blocks.
He already lost commit access due to confirming a false story, i.e. helping Craig manipulate the population.

So sensitive?
Sensitive? That does not make sense. I wasn't aware that my casual comments on a BBC article carried such enormous weight here.
I have not even opened that article, nor do I have plans to do so. Why would anyone claim that he is Satoshi?
Publicity stunt? To manipulate the price? There are plenty of reasons. where is this signed message??
He hasn't provided one.

..which could strongly prove his relation to, or identity of being Satoshi Nakamoto himself. Dafuq is happening?
No. The evidence is false. Read my previous post in the thread. How stupid are people and how stupid are journalists??
I think that you have the answer to that question; very stupid.
OP it is time to edit the thread title as it is misleading.

Nope, and I don't really care to either. Frankly it's not that critically important to me. While I've met the other core developers, it doesn't matter to me who Satoshi really is. If it's this guy, then fine, if it's another scam- just another day in bitcoin land.
Then please do not make statements that confirm "X is S. Nakamoto", when "X is a fraud". You are not helping by spreading misinformation. He got what he deserved; this is definitely going to be quite intriguing now. I wonder how Gavin is going to get away with this.

In absence of any counter claims, there's no reason not to believe him.Do you think he can fool bbc, economist etc?
Are you for real? He has provided zero evidence even though he claims that he did, ergo he was trying to fool and manipulate people (which he has obviously succeeded). "Counter claims" are not needed when the provided evidence, which was used to build up the claim, was false. You can fool BBC, Economist and others quite easily; actually, almost as easily as he has fooled you. What I can't believe is even the BBC is hopping on the fucking bandwagon, just goes to show you how little these news journalists know about Bitcoin.
Such media can be easily fooled, one day Bitcoin is dying and the next day it is a huge success. ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

It would be appreciate if someone could edit that page and remove the bullshit. Yeah I thought to sell, but then I declined. It's weird to know who he is, and I'm sure people are a touch nervous about him having 1 million bitcoin, but at the same time- before an unknown person had all those bitcoin. So at least we know who he is.
Have you even read anything on this page? He has provided no proof, ergo he is not Satoshi.

![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FxRuXToF.png&t=664&c=g8ZRFVylkQMyMQ) This should be done right away (at least temporarily). This should be Gavin's last strike as he has started doing more harm than good (once the situation resolves). The whole story will be release soon. The signatures have already been verified by Gavin and GQ btw.
Post the signatures here or go away (whoever is behind this account). How can you be 100% sure? I agree genesis block signature should be used for proof, though.
Because people who I can consider sheep, including anyone who believed this even for a second, can't tell the difference between cryptographic proof and a random public TX signature (encoded in base64) (and thus get fooled easily). Craig has not provided something such as a signed message (e.g. required for recovering an account on the forum).
