12243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: #tippero - play dice with Monero on IRC! on: January 27, 2015, 04:17:37 PM
Come join #tippero on Freenode IRC, where you can gamble and tip other players with Monero!

I'm giving away 1 XMR to the next 5 people that join the room.

https://www.cryptocoins-dice.com/#

Is this your site?

I'm not sure how to figure out how to trust a gambling site.

100% of my XMR is gonna ride on my PATS. hope the balls are deflated! Cheesy

Anywhere I can bet on Superbowl with XMR?

It's not up just yet, but Tippero will have this enabled sometime in the next couple days. It was supposed to go up for the cricket games in february but this seems like a good occasion to debut it early Smiley

I'll post details when it's ready.

do me a favor and PM me a s well.

How do you generate a Payment ID with simple wallet?  Or can you?

You can't, afaik, but you can use this website:
https://www.grc.com/passwords.htm

Payment id is just a 64 character hex string, so you can just grab what's in the "64 random hexadecimal characters (0-9 and A-F)" field.

Always liked Gibsons work. Does everything in assembler.

We are proud to announce the release of a torrent of Monero 0.8.8.6 for Windows. This torrent includes the blockchain, lightwallet.exe and simplewallet.exe. The complete torrents weights 2.4 Gb.

To download, open your favorite torrent application and enter the following magnet link (double click to select it all):

Remember to keep seeding after you downloaded, to make the download faster for the ones who come after you.

Below are md5 and virus scans
  • md5sum bitmonerod.zip: a8f6baf1ae8ac9ad8970f79c0430165d
  • md5sum bitmonerod.exe: a8f6baf1ae8ac9ad8970f79c0430165d

If Bytecoin has Multisig then why can't Monero add that code?

It only has Multisig for mixin 0. This limits its usefulness.

Ahh, IC. So Is the Monero team using that code as a base or starting from scratch?

The code isn't the issue with this, multisig isn't very complex from a code perspective. The issue is figuring out how to implement multisig in a way that neither conflicts with the signatures in ring signatures nor leaks user information. It's on the MRL table, but frankly I don't see us even starting with the academic side of it for a few months. There are flaws and bugs we have to fix first:)

Thanks for the clarification Fluffy. Smiley

I really hate that I can't code anymore and would love to be working on this. Sad

Bytecoin (BCN)

Bytecoin[27] is the first implementation of CryptoNote protocol. It should not be confused with Bytecoin (BTE) a now defunct 1:1 clone of Bitcoin. After being launched in July 2012 Bytecoin had a number of improvements including multisignature transactions[28] and several security updates.[29]

If Bytecoin has Multisig then why can't Monero add that code?

Nice.

Yes need option to run as node without exit. Alot of us in the west will run a VPN/tor bridge but not an exit node. too dangerous. We really do live in a police state even though most of us don't know it. Wink

Hello,
Current version not include any TOR code, and the default settings is normal node,
If you use VPN, dial-in VPN will change your system proxy setting, else nothing happen.
What is dangerous ? Smiley

I'm sorry but the language gap is too profound. Meaning is getting lost. You need a better translator. You speak well enough for conversations but not to convey technical issues. The documentation is riddled with undecipherable sentences.

VPN & TOR( It's ready, but we do not publish because of policy reasons ) service,

This should probably read.

"The tor integration code is complete but not implemented as there are legal considerations to iron out first."

...

Possibly, that BTC you bought for $270 is now worth $210 but with XMR also losing around 10-15% of value that means total loss of about 33%
...

Almost as much as one bet on poker today.

I took what fluffypony suggested to mean that priorities can be influenced by donations, so if this is meaningful or problematic to him, it might be worth some donation to bump it.
I am not noticing any problematic daily changes in practicality, so I really haven't a clue what has stslimited so flummoxed.

Databases are nifty, but they introduce all sorts of issues that require care.  I'd rather it be right than fast.

Syncing tewinget's database build on win7 atm. It seems like there are some portability issues (copying binaries to other windows comps), but bitmonerod seems to working on my computer here.

If anyone wants to give it a shot, here is link to compiled binaries: https://mega.co.nz/#!GZBFyTBB!Vpd6r-z9PmPzzymitHmQe9F7zYk1tNi_lF4PFQbFPGI

I think there are tons of people who give a shit! Smiley

Thanks!
