12281  Other / Meta / Re: [warning] Banned accounts can still send merit. on: June 28, 2018, 03:33:51 PM
It's probably true. I remember seeing someone posting something like this in the week the merit system was released.

IMO, theymos should fix this (in case he didn't already).

Contact the support.

This has something to do with their back end.

- On its settings, only "CyberSec" is ON.
Yeah... That's 100% the issue. I just enabled CyberSec and got the same error when accessing the forum.

Maybe disable it for now?
12284  Other / Meta / Re: Can't access this forum while using a VPN (for the past 2 days) on: June 28, 2018, 02:06:02 AM
Did you try changing the server? Which country are you connected to?

I'm using NordVPN and the forum is working fine.
12285  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Activity 30 Rank newbie on: June 27, 2018, 03:26:36 PM
You are already a Jr. Member. It's just that it takes some time to update.

I know you are in a hurry to start joining bounties and spam the forum, but waiting a little bit would have saved you from creating this thread and me from answering you.
12286  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: ⭐🚀[ANN] SaveBox.io – The Best Savings Account For Bitcoins.⭐🚀 on: June 27, 2018, 03:16:46 PM
So, all your website does is lending the Bitcoins in exchanges? Like this: https://poloniex.com/lending#BTC

Why would I trust you, an unknown third-party, if I can lend the coins myself?

Ps: We are active since 2016, but until now we were not yet present on bitcointalk
Really?

This is your website in September 2016: https://web.archive.org/web/20161005131025/http://savebox.io:80/
Your twitter was only created in 2018: https://twitter.com/savebox_io

And I can't find any mentions to your website anywhere.
12287  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: ⭐🚀[ANN] SaveBox.io – The Best Savings Account For Bitcoins.⭐🚀 on: June 27, 2018, 02:54:50 PM
Looks exactly like a Ponzi scheme.

You don't explain anything about how do you make interest from your costumer's coins and it's just promising to make 4.45% annually from the air and not run away with the funds. Which I doubt it's true Cheesy
12288  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are video editing machines powerfull enough for bit coing mining ? on: June 27, 2018, 01:34:17 PM
No. Only ASIC mining is powerful enough for Bitcoin mining.

What you can do is try mining altcoins, but it won't be that profitable if you need to pay your energy bills. If interested, you can simulate your possible earnings here: https://www.nicehash.com/profitability-calculator
12289  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Is Ledger Nano S really better than a free paper wallet? on: June 27, 2018, 12:37:47 AM
Scratch That Cheesy  I got it!
What was the issue? Probably a silly mistake, which is why you should have watched the video I linked above.

Another question:

So my Litecoin (sitting at an exchange) can be sent to my Ledger Wallet Bitcoin?
No. Bitcoin =/= Litecoin.

For that, you need to install the Litecoin app by using the 'Ledger Manager' chrome extension. Then, you can use the 'Bitcoin wallet' chrome extension to view your Litecoin wallet (BTC and LTC use the same chrome extension. For other coins, it will be different). The addresses will obviously be different.

Just select and open the LTC app on your Ledger display while you have the 'Bitcoin wallet' chrome extension opened (basically the same thing, but with the LTC app instead).
12290  Economy / Reputation / Re: A Famous Bounty Manager Has Multi account on: June 26, 2018, 10:38:08 PM
Is having multiple accounts really that bad? From what I see, it's not like he abused his power and participated in bounties ran by himself. He doesn't seem to be abusing any bounties. I would hardly consider him famous.

I have the "no multiple account" rule in campaigns I manage, but it's only banning people from participanting in the campaign with multiple accounts. I have the account DarkStar_alt; does that make me not reputable?
IMO, if you have multiple accounts, you should publicly disclose that you own them. The user above, used both accounts to join bounties, so he is clearly looking for money.

What guarantee does he have that he doesn't have more accounts and that he isn't using them to milk money with his own bounties?
12291  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Is Ledger Nano S really better than a free paper wallet? on: June 26, 2018, 07:30:21 PM
Have you tried with a different cable?

Also, you should contact Ledger's support at https://support.ledgerwallet.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

The advertisement makes it look like everything will work easily.
Normally, it will. I have a Nano S and it goes instantly whenever I connect it to my PC, and while in the Bitcoin chrome app, unlock it and select the BTC app.

Your case is an exception and not the rule.
12292  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Is Ledger Nano S really better than a free paper wallet? on: June 26, 2018, 05:50:26 PM
Because if you lose the Ledger device, all your coin is gone and cannot be retrieved?
That's what the backup seed is for.

If Google Chrome has some issue with your computer, you have to buy another whole computer just to use the Ledger?
No. You can use your Nano S with Electrum to manage your Bitcoin wallet and MyEtherWallet for Ethereum. And how would a computer have an issue with Chrome, which can only be solved by buying a whole new computer?

Or can you use a public computer to access with Ledgers?
You can.

And isn't Google typically intrusive with peoples information, if so, why did Ledger choose Google Chrome as the only way to operate the wallets?
A new wallet software that doesn't require Chrome will be released next month (July 9th). They will also release a mobile wallet in a few months.

Read more here: Announcing the new Ledger Wallet desktop and mobile applications

The paper wallets do not require these complicated set-ups and there are no snafu's involved.
Plus if you lose your paper wallet you can just reference a backup paper wallet, but with Ledger's if you lose the device it is all gone for ever
Wrong. You can, should and need to backup your Ledger with the 24 word seed. Plus, you can't spend your coins from a paper wallet that easily without compromising them.

Plus a paper wallet is easier to conceal than this high tech looking Ledger thing.
You didn't get it what makes the Nano S different than every other wallet.

Plus you can just email the paper wallet address to yourself, for free, and have a digital copy right there.
Or you can just use your exchange! Why care about security, right? Cheesy

Plus if you drop a ledger in water or some other issue like that (fire, damage), your coin is gone for ever.
Again, no.

I can not even get the Ledger to work for me
I honestly don't see how. Have you tried Youtube? There is no easier thing than watching someone explain everything to you step-by-step.

I recommend this video: Ledger Nano S - Setup and Guide (Hardware wallet)
12293  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Browser Support command in Ledger Nano S on: June 26, 2018, 04:43:36 PM
Are you sure? This looks extremely unlikely to happen. AFAIK the option only shows in the Ethereum app.

Open the ETH app -> press the right button to select "Settings" -> both buttons to open it -> press the right button to select "Browser Support" -> both buttons to open it -> right button to select "Yes" -> press both buttons to select it.
12294  Other / Meta / Re: Banned account says 7 days but is banned from January on: June 26, 2018, 04:33:54 PM
It's not up to you to decide. You broke the rules and got banned for this. End of the story.

We are very welcoming to new members that TRULY want to learn and discuss cryptocurrencies. The big difference is that you are just another SPAMMER who just wants to milk the forum with bounties, while shitposting all day. And we don't want those type of users here.

So, please... Can you just stop crying and move on? You will not get unbanned.

Not without your address private key or wallet backup seed. Undecided
12296  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what is merit how to earn "Merit" easy? on: June 26, 2018, 03:05:29 PM
You can't buy, sell or trade merit. You get it by making high-quality posts.

12297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NOT WORKING! Withdrawl From Cash App to electrum/electron cash on: June 26, 2018, 01:46:28 PM
This is Electron Cash. An Electrum fork for Bitcoin Cash.

Since what you received was BITCOIN and not BITCOIN CASH, you need to download and use the official Electrum wallet, which supports Bitcoin.

Download it at electrum.org and open your wallet file with it. The interface is pretty much the same.

P.S: Bitcoin =/= Bitcoin Cash. Bitcoin Cash is an altcoin and a fork.
12298  Other / Meta / Re: How does this account have an avatar? on: June 26, 2018, 01:41:44 PM
You could use an avatar at any rank back in the old days.

OP added his avatar when it was possible for him.
12299  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Robinhood on: June 26, 2018, 01:17:51 PM
Can you transfer crypto in and out?  Like if you purchase it on Robinhood then can you transfer it to another wallet you have that is not Robinhood?
Not yet. Only buy and sell. But AFAIK it's going to be possible in the future.
12300  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 2018 List Bitcoin Mixers Bitcoin Tumblers Websites on: June 26, 2018, 01:12:46 PM
My goal is to thoroughly expose Smartmix.io and completely bury the service.
Then just post your evidence. I've checked your article and you didn't say anything about why SmartMix is a scam.

Who is going to believe in you? If you want to bury the service, then you need to publicly expose them.
