12301  Other / Meta / Re: Banned account says 7 days but is banned from January on: June 25, 2018, 09:21:51 PM
I would lift the ban if it is only for low quality posts and he has no other accounts with a history of bans.
Sure... so, did you just registered this account to post this? Or are you OP and think we are dumb enough to think you are a different user randomly suggesting a unban for yourself? Cheesy

Is it normal to permanently ban someone for low quality posts on the first ban?
I think it's possible if that's all you do. I've seen multiple users these past few weeks that got permanent banned and the only possible (or at least evident) reason was that they were spamming (mainly in bounty threads) and/or writing in a thread to earn a bonus (which is against the rules and will get you perma banned).
12302  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Best cryptocurrency exchange on: June 25, 2018, 09:15:54 PM
For Bitcoin -> Altcoins, use Binance. They allow you to withdrawal 2BTC worth of coins per week, so if you always withdrawal less than that per week, you don't need to do any ID verification.
12303  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: tweet on: June 25, 2018, 12:51:01 AM
You don't need to ask anyone. Just do yourself:

1. Change your twitter username temporarily;
2. Do the audit with the new username;
3. Change it back to your original name;
4. Done! Free re-audit!
12304  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Top Bounty Managers in bitcointalk on: June 25, 2018, 12:15:20 AM
Honestly, this list sucks. Who is this "CryptoMaze official"? A Jr. Member with a 3 months old account and campaigns full of spam and shitposts. If you can't bother to check the kind of users that those managers are accepting in their campaigns, then you shouldn't be making a list of "Top Bounty Managers".
12305  Economy / Reputation / Re: forum stuff xandry is merit Abuser or Coincidence ??? on: June 24, 2018, 01:24:01 PM
He's not.

12306  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Very high tx fee in mycelium on: June 24, 2018, 01:16:48 PM
IIRC, can't you put a fee of 1 sat/byte (with the fee slide) even when they are suggesting a tx that high?
12307  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: walletpassphrase change password or remove password? on: June 24, 2018, 01:04:20 PM
I don't think so. You could just change the password to a single space to make things easier.

Who said making money here is something bad? The problem is when you ONLY use this forum to make money. Which is the case in 90% of the new users registering every day.

OP had 3 accounts and tried to buy another one. Do you really think this is the type of user that is going to contribute and learn about cryptos? Hell no. He will just spam the heck of the forum while he tries to milk as much money as possible. And this type of user isn't welcome here.

I'm sorry if you guys need the money to live and feed your family. But spamming isn't the answer. You can earn as much money as possible with your (one) account by helping people and writing constructive posts. But if you are here to lazily spam and copy paste, you will either get a negative trust or a ban. And we won't be sad for you losing your "job".
12309  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: If I forget wallet's password? on: June 24, 2018, 02:57:03 AM
If you are talking about Bitcoin Core, then yes. You will either need the unencrypted wallet file or the password to decrypt it and spend the coins.

If you have a high amount of BTC stored in your wallet, you could try a service that brute forces your password, like Wallet Recovery Services for 20% of your wallet balance.
12310  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to figure out what wallet to send alt coins on: June 23, 2018, 02:54:08 PM
Interesting. So according to that list of wallets that accept Lumens, what I have (My Ether Wallet) is not going to work.
Yes... Because MEW is an Ethereum wallet (which has nothing to do with Lumens).

Another question: what if I sent my Lumens to My Ether Wallet, where would the coin go? (FYI I did not do this, just wondering)
I don't think that's possible. Those are two different altcoins. ETH =/= Lumens.
12311  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Selling BTC (discussion about site) on: June 23, 2018, 01:18:55 PM
No one has any experience with it because the website hasn't released yet. Try to exchange anything and it will show this message: "We plan to start in July, please follow our updates!"

The website is only a demo.
12312  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Change username/name on the bitcointalk forum on: June 23, 2018, 02:44:09 AM
It's only possible if you pay 50BTC to become a VIP member.

So, just give up or create a new account.
12313  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: new here, tried to find my bitcointalk user ID Does anyone know? on: June 23, 2018, 01:57:36 AM
Research first, ask later. You literally could have found the answer with a 5 seconds search on Google.

Just click on your username right next to your post. Or do this:
Step 1: Click you Profile.
Step 2: Click below "Show the last post of this person."
Step 3: You can see your bitcointalk profile link above you link site.
Example: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1330140;sa=showPosts
But don't copy: "sa=showPosts"
Example of my profile: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1330140;
You are welcome in advance  Smiley

Your ID is: 1898377

No.

Here is a list of wallets that support Stellar (XML): https://www.stellar.org/lumens/wallets/
12315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can I move MTC/BTC to my Trezor? Sorry rather new on: June 23, 2018, 12:32:24 AM
To store ETH ERC-20 tokens (like MTC) in your Trezor, just send them to your ETH wallet and use MEW to see and spend the tokens.

Just go to MEW, "Send Ether & Tokens", select Trezor and connect your wallet. Then, just use it as a normal MEW wallet.
12316  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: John Mcafee & Bitifi launch the first 'unhackable' hardware wallet on: June 23, 2018, 12:28:00 AM
Does this mean that we need to type the password/seed/whatever everytime we want to sign a transaction? If not, then it doesn't matter since the password/seed/phrase/whatever that generates the private key is stored in the device.
12317  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: stakes. on: June 22, 2018, 04:57:16 PM
it's a system that probably got most attention during the waves signature campaign.
Unlike regular campaigns, in this system, members don't get paid by fixed rates or pay per post rates.
There is a total budget for the campaign (which should be mentioned in the thread somewhere) and users get paid distinct shares of that total budget.
If you have X stakes, your payment would be: (total budget)*(personal stakes/total stakes).
E.g. having 10 stakes in a 5BTC campaign with a total size of 1000 stakes would give you 5BTC*(10/1000)=0.05BTC.

There's no definite answer what is better or worse, it always depends on the individual campaign.
12318  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: How to verify the security integrity of the Ledger Nano S? on: June 22, 2018, 04:25:21 PM
~
Yes. When I open the Chrome app, conect and unlock my Nano, the screen briefly shows "Checking if the device is genuine" or something like this. The methods in the article are just a way of checking it directly.
12319  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: How to verify the security integrity of the Ledger Nano S? on: June 22, 2018, 03:47:11 AM
1. Install Python on your computer.
2. Open your terminal/cmd and run:
Code:
pip install --no-cache-dir ledgerblue

3. Then, run:

On firmware 1.3.1 or below
Code:
python -m ledgerblue.checkGenuine --targetId 0x31100002

On firmware 1.4.1 and above
Code:
python -m ledgerblue.checkGenuine --targetId 0x31100003

It will output either your device is genuine or not.
12320  Other / Meta / Re: Can this guy (cryptoaeronet) be ban? on: June 21, 2018, 05:58:36 PM
I know this but I am asking to ban the user. Not to moderate any post or any rating. Ban the user so that they can not do their lying shits anymore.
Banning someone = moderating.
