12321  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Simplest Question: Where do I deposit my US$? on: September 13, 2018, 05:25:21 PM
Yours is a common complaint I hear about Bitcoin. What you need to understand is that it’s a failure of your USD to be so regulated and mutable that places have a hard time accepting it in exchange for crypto.
12322  Other / Meta / Re: Seriously, theymos ??? on: September 13, 2018, 04:24:22 AM
BTW, it's funny how the values of these things change over time. Donator OgNasty has had one of these mini-ads running since 2012. In 2012 the value of a tiny ad like this was nearly nothing. But since it's been running for so many years, and since the value of forum ads has gone up, I'd estimate the total accumulated value of that ad as at least $30k, maybe more. Whereas OgNasty's 10 BTC donation was worth $47.80 when he donated it, and would be worth $63,934.70 now.

Thanks for that theymos!

12323  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] Titan Mint sell-off (2013 1oz silver private key edition with COA) on: September 11, 2018, 05:33:43 PM
Are these 2FA or private key Titan coins please?

Judging from the subject, I'd say it's likely the private key edition with COA.  Tongue
12324  Other / Meta / Re: i am not confident here and feel intimidated! on: September 11, 2018, 05:31:18 PM
Well i guess do not have problem with that but the only thing is that everytime i saw a legendary account i feel intimidated from my post in english since i know that those member are really doing well.

Being a Legendary account just means they've been posting here for a long time.  It doesn't mean they are "doing well" or know what they are talking about.  Don't worry about what others are doing or their status, just try to learn and be a contributing member of the community.  The rest will sort itself out.

I’ve long thought that something like fool.com for cryptos would be a useful resource.
12328  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Buying failed project resources on: September 09, 2018, 09:55:52 PM
Where can we buy failed ICO/project failed resources - does such a platform exist.

I think most ICOs turn out to be scams with no actual resources having ever been purchased.  In the few cases when resources are purchased, they are typically stolen by those in possession of them.
12329  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 1oz .999 Silver NastyFans Minted Seats on: September 09, 2018, 06:50:26 PM
Or keep coming out with 'limited" number of 1oz silver coins price them at $250.

The last 1oz coins I released were 3x for under $200.  That includes generating custom addresses, engraving key pairs, attaching holograms, and a donation to NastyFans...  If that's too expensive, I also have the binary rounds that were available for as cheap as $35 per round (which also include the community donation).
12330  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When did people start caring what Goldman Sachs has to say about Bitcoin!? on: September 09, 2018, 07:10:31 AM
In my opinion the dump had more to do with the recent large movement of coins from an old wallet than any GS statement.

Been a couple of days with no response from the seller.  I asked this thread be made public before I refunded, so it was crystal clear what happened beforehand.  I will be refunding these funds shortly if there are no objections.

I notice your FinCen license only is good for Oregon...
Are all sales within the state?
Or do you conduct business outside/across state lines?

Hi Minerjones, you can feel free to call me on the phone if you like. We are in weekly contact with FinCen. 541-488-4312.

Bitcoin and this community have really changed over the years.

There have been too many sad stories in this space of people losing their funds to unscrupulous actors.  Many examples right here in the collectables section, so now when a rogue newcomer shows up out of nowhere looking to be the custodian of 10's or 100's of thousands of USD in value we are a bit weary.

I get it.  Although I would point to the treatment of those who are not unscrupulous actors (this thread being a good example) as a reason why there are are so many scams in this section.  Being honest comes with constant attacks from those who are not, and the unscrupulous actors and their alt accounts are now the majority as a result of chasing away the honest coin makers (Casascius, Lealana, now Bobby Lee).  This trend continues to get worse, and the unscrupulous actors are spreading to once respected members as well as other sections of the forum.  I only hope at some point the community stops thinking about how to make a quick buck off someone else, and starts thinking about what is the best way to take advantage of Bitcoin tech to create innovative products with genuine blockchain use cases.

Again.... no trolling from me.  I was researching a coin.  I know nothing about you and could honestly care less about you personally.  How could I have a grudge against you?  Lol.  I also own the 2017, 2018 binary round BTC set and the 2018 LTC set.  You know nothing about me.....  I just made a comment that I was unimpressed with the return.... I wished the person good luck with their sale.  You then got lippy with me so I looked a little further.  I’m not trolling you buddy.  You just got all chesty with me and I’m not the type to be walked on.  You are the one who looks terrible in this situation.  .....and yet you have so much to say except the answer to my question about the “free” BTC.  This has become boring and like talking to the wall.  Best of luck with all your products.

You seem to take issue with the word free. I should have called the funds what they are, donations. I guess they aren’t free, as hundreds of involved Bitcoiners are the ones helping generate the donations with their efforts.

I don’t care if I look terrible. I care about Bitcoin. I care about innovation. I care about mankind. This project was created to show there is a better more fair method of distributing funds in an organization than the CEO making a fortune and walking with a golden parachute. You either see the genius in the structure or you don’t. You either want to be a part of this piece of Bitcoin history or you don’t. The judge will be the test of time though, not some newbies who don’t understand finance and wonder why the organization they bash instead of foster is failing to meet their ridiculous expectations. I think the problem is just ignorance and a lack of experience with investments. NastyFans seats have been one of the greatest returns I’ve ever made after a 2 decade long investment career. The only thing that has outperformed them is Bitcoin itself. Having the seats minted to a physical coin that stores the distributions, well, that’s just awesome.  Grin
12335  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 1oz .999 Silver NastyFans Minted Seats on: September 07, 2018, 04:02:29 PM
It’s all on the blockchain. Do your own research. All the info is provided. No other coin generates anything and many are more expensive. Again, if you don’t like, don’t buy. Complaining about a feature no other coin has makes you a bit foolish. Almost as foolish as creating a chart where the historical price paid changes based on future exchange rates. It’s basically admitting you are committing tax fraud with your personal finances. It is clear you guys have a grudge and are presenting dishonest information in an attempt to bash my products. It is pathetic the attempts you make to try and harm this community organization. I sent a $4,000 donation just a week or so ago... Minted Seats are unique and incredible. I don’t need your support, but the continued hate towards such a groundbreaking product is going to make you seem more and more foolish in time as well as an enemy to Bitcoin innovation.

Feel free to continue the trolling though. This will be gold to reference in a few decades. 31,000 views!

Sounds to good to be true?

Now why am I here?

Yes, it is too good to be true.

I won’t speculate on your motivations.

12339  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Seriously, why would anyone want $20 Billion Dollars? on: September 06, 2018, 07:10:39 PM
I’m not sure I’d need 20 billion dollars, but I could spend 4 billion no problem. Professional sports franchise, mansion, vacation mansion, toys, starting my dream company, donating to my favorite charities, paying off all the debts of my friends and family... It would be spent before the check cleared.

It's also an issue here in my country, rape was all over the news.

Which country? Do you believe the opening of borders has contributed to the rape problem in recent years?
