QR codes still win
many people have their computer screens at different brightnesses.
people watching movies prefer a different contrast ratio than others.. otherwise movies like batman cant tell the difference between his black costume and the nights sky.
people doing office work dont want bright white screen blazing into their eyes so they tone it down to a grey scale of brightness
this causes someone if they are then to scan using a camera phone a colour code from another screen the colour seen isnt accurate. even when scanning from one phone to another is not accurate due to battery saving brightness levels for instance just screen brightness can confuse colour scanners as these (above and below) can become interchangeable
a #00fdff █ | e #818181 █ | q #80ffd4 █ | f #1d8c1d █ |
yet at most different brightness levels QR codes still scan correctly or show an error colour scanning wont show 'error' but just show a result with characters in the wrong places which then makes people have to double check the character ordering anyway,
if you are in any concern you might aswell just use some OCR software as oppose to this colouring idea. as OCR has less fault issues/concerns.. but preferably QR codes are best

Nasa does a pretty good job of breaking down what's going on with climate change and why they think it's extremely likely that humans are playing a significant role. They also directly address your point about the ice mass thousands of years ago. https://climate.nasa.gov/evidence/so nasa had balloons with atmospheric sensors 100,000 to 800,000 years ago to know what was actually in the stratesphere(above cloud layer) .. nope well they could have built time travel and just not admitting it.. but i doubt it they only know what was POSSIBLY in the tropisphere (below cloud level) where RAIN and gravity pulls elements to the ground which then dont re-evaporate and thus left to settle. thus they disregard water amounts. disregard oxygen and other things. heck the change from 1850-1960 results are they done icecore drills for the pre 1960 numbers and then done tree ring studies and more recent technology sensor studies. but the funny part is the technology sensor studies have number manipulated. they even admit such by knowing no day is equal due to rain and humidity so they tweak the numbers to try and make it a straight comparison to a standard sunny day even on rainy days. so dont take the results as true accurate results of reality

she is from a country where her supposed 'school strike' was not a strike at all. at that age she can voluntarily not go school and it was the summer, and when she later went school she always got permission not to attend... (not much of a strike then huh)
yet she demands other kids to do actual strikes in actual schools that dont have this leeway
id have probably preffered a african/indian kid who's family were struggling farmers due to desertification become the youth spokesmen and do actual campaigns of getting countries to agree to hard numbers of actual action and not the flimsy 'do something'
greta lives in a county with a cool climate a healthy land growth environment. clean air. and her family life shows she has never experienced real struggles.
if her message is just to obide by the paris agreement then many countries dont have to do anything extra. infact many countries already for decades had town/city plans that certain amount of area's had to have X green area (parks and recreation) and X trees and could easily show they planted them X tree's and class that as their contribution. in the UK for instance. many towns that used to be called 'market towns' are being rebranded 'green towns' .. no real big changes done but just a branding decision of councils there may be more tree's panted but at the same time old woodland has been made into housing estates so it is not any more tree numbers than before just the tree's are scattered along roadsides at calculated distances to make it appear more spread
same goes with power plants. with many being outdated and crumbing anyway by just standard renovation practice and demand concerns that had nothing to do with environmental agenda. they could then class it as being an environmental agenda that triggered their renovation/upgrades just to tick a box EG underground stocks of coal are depleted so they move to fracked gas to stay in business, without it being an environmental climate change decision, the power company can pretend later it was purely climate driven decision and(just happens to) have a positive climate change impact to get their new power plant built for them for free using government environment, technology innovation and R&D grants
america school meal budgets get cut and the FDA approved suppliers churn out crap frozen meals at ever increasing prices so schools are forced into making 'food growth' part of their curriculum where students grow lettuce tomato's and stuff on school property that subsidises the school meals. this then later translates to schools being declared green schools and thats used politically as reducing food waste, carbon footprint of food delivery and other stuff to show as a ticked box. even when al the 'farming' would still e done without any paris agreement involvement. but now they just mark it off as if they doing it to then not have to do extra
same goes for real estate. buy up cheap flood risk land. threaten their investment is at risk to climate change. then get grants to build flood resistant properties. and tick a box about securing a legacy of flood resistance towns all for cheap real estate
to me greta's message is just a parody of the lyrics to 'say something' im giving up on you, featuring christina aguilera. just changing 'say' to 'do'
maybe the next youth environment ambassador has actual experience of struggles due to environmental change, and actually tries to set numbers countries have to hit, have laws changed where in 10 years coal and gas is illegal. thus forcing energy companies to change plans. then let the scientists work on other remedies like the water cycle. just to keep scientists busy instead of just doing tours with reports that are now outdated

I agree we can't observe the total emissions, it's important to view it per capita. We can't expect countries with a billion people to have the same emissions as countries with a 100 million. Still, however, I don't see how this temperature rise correlates with any human activity. The ice mass was significanlty lesser thousands of years ago then it is now.
climate does not care about how many people are affected. its about the land mass that freezes or heats up. whether people are standing on it or not if anything emissions should be measure per square mile to then work out which country is causing the most environmental damage(lung health) same goes for the water cycle. how much rainful per area needs to be measured and ways to increase it in area's and ofcourse to make it snow more in the north/south pole to replenish the STANDARD summer melts

i think the topic created is trying to meme the bitcoin tx FEE not market price
bitcoin FEE's fortnight ago: 20-38 range bitcoin FEE's this week: 10-18 range

atleast 6 years ago there was a thing called 'MTGox codes' where people could transfer value between mtgox, btc-e and bitstamp without touching the blockchain as the exchanges were using reserves and a code system they worked on inbetween them selves
the issue with it is people can try brute forcing the redemption codes as it was not a signature or anything s the such. people ended up snooping on people codes redeeming it and leaving the proper recipient with a 'already redeemed' message when they eventually went to try to redeem it
when it comes to redemption codes if i can reed the code on a piece of paper. i can copy it myself and the very second i hand the paper note to someone else. i can redeem the value leaving them pennyless
the only sure way is via private keys that are hidden on the face of the bank note but available by ripping a seal on the paper note. but even then people can still make fake notes
EG make 300 notes all using the same code
paper wallets are ok for single use transactions hand to hand but not good for circulation ongoing, because the more hands a paper note passes the more chance someone in the middle is about to redeem it before the current holder
last point about the 'easy to write down codes' if its soo easy. then it makes it soo easy for abuse

in my honest opinion she is just finger pointing and doing viral meme frowny faces. she is not really packing a punch that actually strikes her opponents
the paris agreement is too flimsy and has too many clauses and appears as if by 2050 all a country has to do is say ''oops sorry'

its like families.
kid says 'i want new clothes and pizza' so the parent goes out to work earns the money, goes to the shop buys it and comes home, and then cooks it and puts it on the table for the kid and neatly lays out clothes in the closet
who is the intelliagent one in above scenario. then in below person says i want new clothes and pizza' so thir AI robot does all the manual labour to earn the funds, does all the shopping and cooking and puts food infront of the person and puts clothes away in the closet
if you originally thought the parent was the intelliagent an one on power... guess that means robots are the 'alpha male/ man of the house' of a family

merits are not money. they are just a kind of thumbs up signal that someone found your post interesting so try to make a post informative and thoughtful that actually gets people to learn from or want to know more be more involved in the topic.

with each batch/harvest only lasting a couple weeks/months shelf life, its possible to do it all on blockchain to show where food comes from and moves to. and obviously as each shelf life expiry ate approaches and passes the data can then just be prunned off. meaning no concern for years of data being stored.
because its not like food can just move around forever. (unlike currency)

Indeed everything you say is true but there is better than all that is the power of the mind. If our thoughts are positive in facing the day, then every illness will not easily approach us.
whats next happy thoughts can make you fly because peter pan told you happy thoughts does not defend people from health problems infact people living in solitude get less flu's then sociable people. also happy people that are blissfull day dreamers are more likely to trip over or walk into something due to their blissful unawareness and not having a care in the world theres a difference between being happy and caring about one self its better to suggest people should care about themselves as a way to reduce health risks

what you can gather from the 'bitcoin richlist' is the ratio of value stored in addresses of =>100btc vs adresses of <=100btc
that way you can kind of get an idea of how much is in exchange coldwallets vs individual users
the more in an exchange in a short period=possible sell off impending(over supply=less demand) the more users hoard in a short period=trading drama over possible rise impending(less supply=more demand from fiat users)
ofcourse this is not science as people can deposit into exchanges and just use them as a bank custodian for month never actually trading. so not able to use as a hour-day predictor.. but is useful in a more broader scope and used along with other indicators can help establish the emotions of broad userbase

After watching the video I became alittle curious about generator powered by alcohol (does it even exist or too expensive? ) from palm-tree or something. So I wondered if a gaint electricity generator can be built in a large palm-tree farm, with liquid or sap from the palm-tree collected in a chamber, fermented and heated with woods or charcoal to extract the alcohol (ofcourse, one or more trees have to planted back in place of a cut down tree). And the alcohol can then be used to power the electricity generator. It's renewable, self-sustaining and possibly be automated system. But I wonder how cheap and reliable it will be.
your talking about bio diesel effectively

seems you feel de-emasculate and trying to re-affirm your intelligence, as psychologically you feel like you made some stupid trades due to whales making you emotional.
so here goes you are king of your kingdom you are smarter then Einstein you are wiser than a tibetan monk you are richer than amazon you are more popular than zuckerburg you know more words than an encyclopedia you are the admiral of all grammar nazi's you invented all inventions
here even have 1 merit due to you being every positive thing you want people to consider you as.
... now what .. time to get over your experience and move forward

ok tried to be helpful but looks like topic creator just wants to whinge at everyone.
moving on (yawn)

seems like you are angry at the world. i can understand things get emotional. but remaining angry helps no one and can mess with your health if it goes on too long. and if you look at my post history you will see i am on these forums and active daily. i am not an occasional trader i am an active trader. i do not follow the crappy 'trend' analysis stuff of drawing lines on charts based purely on previous lines. i actually study technical considerations such as how much coins are hoarded in exchanges coldwallets(bitcoin richlist) vs how much exits those addresses
i also look at the cost of mining as a base number of costs. and also the UTXO movements of how much moves in certain periods to see if people are actively moving funds around or just hoarding. which helps me to base if a bitcoin price is near value or speculative way to high above value.
when analysing the UTXO over time you can start pairing utxo's to a value of the time the funds move and thus get to know what values different peoples holdings have. EG i still have coins from when they were $6 in 2012 so i could happily sell all the way down to $7 and call it profit.. knowing peoples minimums (id consider $5 a loss) means you get to see what is the absolute bottom number people will sell for to break even and you can start to form a map of value.. and along with mining costs. you can build up what is known as a 'support level' for bottom line values
but here is a tip for when you withdraw your funds from foreign exchanges and use US exchanges do not put all your funds into one order. split it up into 5-10 allotments. do not try to grab 5%-10% movements. just aim for 1%-2% movements. they happen many times a day so you can rinse and repeat often and accumulate more than 5%-10% when combining the efforts than you would if just waiting, hoping and praying for waves of 5%-10% or tsunami's of 15%+
if you put one order in and the price doesnt move up. leave it there and while the price moves down put another order in. that way you have 9 other opportunities to ride a dip or hit the lift just keep riding the small ripples and dont be waiting all day for the tsunami's
when you start lowering your expectations of large spreads and just nibble at the small movements you become less concerned and less worried about the whale orders. you actually start to use the whale orders to your advantage
the funny thing is in 2013 i experienced the same whale order thing as you (MTGox was great then) when there were whales trading 5000btc at a time. i soon learned how to use it to my advantage and learned to appreciate the walls as it actually made me more productive going with their flow instead of treating them as the enemy.. again i didnt put in my huge hoards, i was happily playing with smaller amounts within the walls
but first before considering any of this. take your funds out of foreign exchanges and use one within your jurisdiction
|
|
|
i have been involved in bitcoin since 2012. so if this is a battle about time length. well my 2012 beats your 2014
i have been trading many years although i am not the whale in question, my hoard far surpasses the '500btc' walls you complain about. infact if i was to put my hoards in at once you would see this as manipulative but i would see it as me just trading my funds like everyone else, just that i happen to have more.
i personally dont put my hoards into an exchange for many reasons but i do put in some play money. but if i was to use my split order strategy with the hoards you would be complaining more and crying that it was some form of orchestrated plan. when in reality is i would be just trading.
as for the jurisdictional stuff you as a US citizen using a service thats not US based does not suddenly give you special powers to then allow the SEC to overstep their jurisdiction. its like if you travel to china and got in trouble. its the chinese government that would be handling you. yes you can speak to the US consulate all you like. but their powers are limited of what they can actually do. you would be stuck at the wil of the chinese government.
the end result is the service could just be requested nicely to do something to stop allowing US citizens access or simply ask you to stop using the service yourself.
if you have a problem with a chines exchange. take your funds out and use an US exchange. then if the US exchange appears to have the same issues as you are concerned with then that exchange would be within your US jurisdiction.
lastly when looking at the exchange orderbook. the order book is just a BTC amount. it has no names or faces or nationality listed. so although you may presume the large wall orders are from manipulative asian traders or ghost orders of the exchange itself. but you actually do not know. its the same emotional reaction of a school shooting news report. many americans very first though is 'is it a middle eastern terrorist' and for days they whisper concerns and worries. but later find out it wasnt.
without you knowing the culprit you have no culprit simply saying that your couple BTC is acceptable but no one should be trading 500btc at a time is the same as someone trading 0.05btc and complaining that 2btc is too much
it is emotionally like a homeless man with $2 complaining at someone taking $500 out of an ATM. blaming the guy at the ATM for having so much money. its a useless mindset to have. so here is a solution, ill repeat it again
take your funds out a foreign exchange and use an US exchange instead. then if the US exchange appears to have the same issues as you are concerned with then find out the actual culprit and link it to an actual crime. do not speculate as to who you wish/hope/think it is. actually try finding the culprit then, with that US exchange being within your jurisdiction the SEC can do something about it. but remember. there has to be a culprit. you cant simply ask a company to shut down because you dont like the experience you received. they can try to improve their service to make users experience better, but they can also stop serving just the vindictive, abusive customers. so dont simply pretend you have the power to shut down an exchange simply because you had a bad experience.
think of it like a mass protest or a music concert. if someone spills your beer or a taller person stands infront of you. you do not have the authority to ask the whole concert to be shutdown. instead try to identify the tall beer spiller that you have problems with and deal with that individual(the whale order creator). because trying to stop an exchange from allowing people to trade say 500btc wont happen trying to get a concert to ban tall people wont happen. and trying to stop an exchange from allowing users to cancel orders for change of mind/mistake reasons wont happen. trying to make spilling beer or walking while holding a beer illegal wont happen
people should be free to make orders with their funds freely. but if you can prove a culprit and prove the crime. then deal with it

topic creators first post is about kinetic energy. not perpetual. what you dont see is the kinetic energy runs out(slows down the spinning). the sample videos in the link were only a few seconds long each for obvious reasons
also the topic creators post just above about blowing on a fan to light a LED shows that the blower has to keep blowing to keep it active. the fan does not constantly spin. the electric created for lighting an LED is not sufficient to power a fan to the same blow effect of the human long that powered the initial surge. thus output is less than input. so putting it into a closed circuit will slowly diminish until it stops.
many man people have thought that if a wind turbine can charge an electric car wheel to spin that replacing the 2 back wheels for 2 fans can then blow enough to blow 2 turbines to double charge.. but reality is the power of the air coming from the wheels wont equal the power initially from the original turbine thus again it diminishes until it cannot power itself any longer
perpetual motion/energy requires the output energy to exceed the input energy to ensure constant and infinite power. and sorry to burst anyones bubble but that just aint possible
people have tried for hundreds of years. and it just has not happened. but good like trying to find answers on youtube/reddit rather than science
as for the topics title energy is not free. there is always a cost. even time and exhaustion and requiring extra calories to fuel someones body for the time is a cost

get on a plan and keep travelling in the same direction. you eventually loop around and come back to the point you started at without falling off an edge and without going into the infinite void of space
im starting to think flat earthers have never got out of their basement to even experience the real world and definetly not a plane ride

reading it carefully it could be read that passengers can request not being recorded. meaning automatic recording but deletion if a reqeust is formally made this means that data gathered would require a person then asking for it not to be kept. if regulations become wordd as such i can see this being abused in many ways like making it so annoying to say no to face recog (like how annoying it is to say no to cookie/ad/data tracking on every website) that people end up just pushing accept rather than deselecting 50 tickboxes a bit like how stupid browsers work that send a 'do not track' request. or them phone call services that suppose to stop business cold calling you... yet you then find out data is still gathered, info is still passed around and then if found out years later they just say 'oopsie sorry, tell use the cost of the fine and we will pay it.. no harm done' you know. the whole 'teenager has criminal records sealed and expunged at 18' .. yet years later gets told someone unsealed the records.. or them anonymous adoptions where social services still have the records but just say they cant disclose hmmm... not quite a removal of record after all if someone was able to find it only solution have no cameras at airport check-in desk at all. or if there is a camera make it abundantly clear you dont want records kept, but still expect someone somewhere to still have that data
