12381  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-04-11] Megaupload founder wants official cryptocurrency on: April 12, 2014, 11:35:34 AM
My thoughts exactly, except megaupload founder is more of a nobody. I thought he was in prison anyway?

He has lots of cash with him. So he avoided the prison, just like Mark Kerpeles. Prison is only for the poor and the middle-class. But there is still an US extradition warrant against him existing (over Megaupload). However, I disagree that he is a virtual nobody. Right now, he is very well known all across the globe, thanks to the Megaupload fiasco.

And he's vigorously fighting that extradition and I hope he wins. I also disagree that he's a nobody. He might not be an international celeb but he seems to be fighting for all the right causes and isn't afraid to stand up and voice his opinion, especially against the mighty USG. They're not a nice enemy to have especially when they've got a grudge behind them.
12382  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where will digital 'currency' take us? on: April 12, 2014, 11:28:22 AM
The future. I don't know where it'll take us, but if people had any sense it would be (though it still is IMO) a truly revolutionary concept. It makes me excited for the future of payments though. I think it's also inevitable that some form of crypto or payment system based on or around the idea will become prevelant sooner or later, but hopefully within our lifetime.

Award Satoshi the Nobel Prize in economics, that 'll flush him out!  Tongue

You know, he or they would probably be a worthy winner, but would they give or nominate the prize to an anonymous pseudonym?

I doubt that's going to fit in the sigs. Maybe Stunna could use it for his threads though  Cheesy.

Can ascii art be colored in? That would look so epic.

Seems it can. I think it'd need to be to stand out.
12385  Other / Meta / Re: Can we Trust the Trust System ? on: April 12, 2014, 11:04:24 AM
What would be a better solution for a safer option?  I think it's better that we have a trusted list and putting certain long-standing and (apparently) more trustable people on it is beneficial, but it can also be easily abused and taken advantage of and the people on the trusted list can sometimes seem to have a mafia-like rule over it whether unspoken and enforced or not, but I can't think of a way that would be foolproof. It reminds me of the trouble with the old style feedback on eBay where the seller could also leave feedback. If the buyer left negative feedback for whatever reason then the favour was usually just quickly returned.

I think pvp on dice game is pretty more cool and much more fair, good work stunna

Well, I don't think it will be popular though... What are the rules? Martingale? Then the winner is the one who has more on his deposit. Makes no sense to me, boring and tiresome without bet multiplication... Shocked

And I leave the question of fairness. If this pvp will be much more fair (or even fairer), it plain shit means that now the rolls are not  Cool

I don't think it will be more popular, but it'll certainly be used and is a bit more fun for the PD community. There will definitely be a lot of people that would rather lose to another user than the house, but I bet there'll be a fair share of sore losers trying to guilt the winner into sending at least some of their money back haha. And with Martingale the winner is always the one who has the most in his account, or knows when to quit whilst ahead  Cheesy.

That part about quitting will be the most interesting to see (and how it will be done), especially when the winner tries to leave with all the coins he won... Grin

Yeah, I'm sure the winner will be badgered by the butthurt loser. "Please, just one more roll" haha. Addict vs. Addict  Cheesy I often wonder how many emails PD gets from sore losers asking for their money back in one way or another.

Trust: -4: -1 / +0(0)
Warning: Trade with extreme caution!

What happened to you? Huh
Just the trolls. The entire trust thing is floored. One guy even asked/blackmailed us for 0.1 btc for his neg to be removed.
It really doesn't bother us, as we have more players than ever on our casino. And most come back for more.

Best,
Ritz

The trust system isn't perfect and those who are on the trusted list have a monopoly on the power and effectiveness of it, but people can read it and make their own mind up and will see it's not for anything related to the trustworthiness of the deal. If you can get one or two people from the trusted list to leave you positive I think it might cancel it out though.

Voted. I actually think you might have a good chance with that one haha. I was expecting it to be just a typical student shithole kitchen, but yours literally does need need renovating. It just looks like a garage with a kitchen sink.

I'm especially careful when trimming near my testees satchel. The thought of even nicking it gives me the willies. I'd advise not doing it in the shower too, or sit down when you do it. It's not that difficult to slip and doing so with a pair of scissors in your hand isn't an ideal situation.
12392  Other / Off-topic / Re: What Browser You Use on: April 12, 2014, 10:15:05 AM
What do you mean you are stuck with it? And if you like it, why change?
When I said stuck with it I didn't meant it in that way..! I just want to see is there is any other browser which is worth a shot now..! like if we all get stuck with Fiat currencies how Bitcoin will get the much required exposure.! I mean if something is better than FF i would give it a shot, just collecting members votes here.. looks like chrome is the only one in race with FF.

Well try a new browser each month and see what you think of them, but if it's not broke, don't replace it, but by all means look at the competition.
12393  Other / Off-topic / Re: Cannabis Cup Denver 2014 - marijuana business meets crypto currenices on: April 12, 2014, 10:13:43 AM
Not sure what facts could go hand in hand, but I'm sure there could be some effective or catchy slogans. I really think Bitcoin could blossom in the legal cannabis industry, especially with most banks refusing to work with dispensaries etc, but sadly that also includes many Bitcoin payment processors too. I wonder if a Bitcoin friendly one will emerge who will find a way to issue payments without a bank. I reckon there's massive profits to be made if one arises that gets around the issues as the cannabis industry only seems to growing larger and larger at the moment. I hope the Federal government just doesn't try crush it at one point.

In recent days i was thinking about switching from Firefox, but I have all the Browser already installed and I use all of them every now and then ..! But now I want to switch permanently to some other browser which one do you use ..?

Haven't gone back to IE since I moved to FF years ago. Why do you want to switch from FF?
because I'm stuck with it from almost 5-6years now..! and want to switch just for a change..! but seems like it is still best around ..!

What do you mean you are stuck with it? And if you like it, why change?
12395  Other / Off-topic / Re: "Imagine Living in a Socialist USA": New Book Envisions Greater Democracy, World on: April 12, 2014, 10:04:08 AM
Can you imagine in living a Socialist USA?

Nope, I really can't. Like the editor Francis Goldin just said, the general American public (as well as most other countries) don't know what Socialism is and tend to think of it as some sort of evil.

Quote
The book comes out at a time when polls show Americans aged 18 to 29 have a more favorable reaction to the word "socialism" than "capitalism
.

Really? That surprises me, but maybe they're just looking at it and under the misinformed 'lesser of two evils'.

12397  Other / Off-topic / Re: Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. WTF? on: April 12, 2014, 09:48:21 AM
this plane will be as easy to find as titanic was easy to explore during investigations ...

It will be slightly easier than finding the titanic. Titanic didn't had transponders and black boxes emitting radio signals.

The signal is about to die, that's why you see all these efforts to locate the exact position of the box, and even once it located it might take years till they get the box back, it took years for the blacks boxs from the airfrance flight that crashed to the see to be extracted

The signal is about to die indeed ... in a few days boxes will stop sending their location so finding them will be muuuuuch harder than to sink out titanic Tongue it will be near to impossible. Like finding the right k.
There is a huge possibility that they will never ever find it and this is what I think.

If it's crashed in the ocean (or somewhere) else I'm sure they'll find some debris floating around at some point

Getting tired of this. Again a lot of confusion.

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/apr/05/flight-mh370-hunt-wrong-area

Quote
With the batteries powering the black box from missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 expected to expire as early as Monday, experts have warned that the international hunt for the aircraft's wreckage may be looking in the wrong area.

I actually think they've just been searching areas based on guesses. How far and what direction the plane was flying in have been changed several times so I'm sure they have no idea. They must've been looking in the wrong area because surely they would've found some debris by now.

Most of those bitcoin millionaires only come here to brag.
believe me the one who are wise don't brag..!

Well, a truly wise or meek man wouldn't, but I think it'd be hard not to if we were in the situation where we became pretty rich off such an investment. I wonder if we'll ever be tested?  Cheesy

As far as I can tell hilariousandco and LaudaM are both just replying to each other to get that sweet sweet post count number to move up.

If you follow hliariousandco, that's all I see. Padding that post count.

Why is it I'm 'padding my post' count and you aren't? Just because I contribute more posts than you?

I see you posting in marketplace all the time but have never made a trade. I see you commenting on posts that you know nothing about. Your responses are vague and empty. I have no quarrels with you but to plead ignorance to the fact that you don't trollolol these boards for a few cents from Stunna is comical  Cheesy

Evidence of these accusations, please? Show me some examples of where I've posted something I know nothing about or my comments are vague and empty? I don't even go in sections like Mining because I know very little about it, and I also very rarely post in the Goods section too and if you check my stats this will corroborate that (goods doesn't even feature on there) so this is just vague and empty BS made up to suit your argument. It seems it's you that posts all the time in the marketplace; in fact it's almost exclusively to there, but what I find especially ironic and hypocritical is that if you go through your posts you'll see mine are not only longer and far more constructive than yours, but even more ironically half of yours are just bumps for your listings, so it's you that's literally padding your post count out and seemingly only posting here to make some bitcents through both listings and Stunna. 6 bumps here (amongst other threads) and 5 of them in a row. You're meant to delete previous bumps as per forum rules and I hope you will be deducting them when you claim your payment from Stunna since they're not allowed either.

And I don't see how not making a trade yet forbids me from making the very few posts that I have in the goods section. I've actually listed a few things and was planning on listing much more stuff this weekend, so I hope this is ok since I've obviously encroached on your domain here.

And It's no secret that I make the extra posts for the payment and have never denied it so it's not laughable, but to say I troll or 'pad' my post count is, but what's the problem anyway? If I contribute relevantly to threads and discussions (which I do) then it shouldn't matter whether I make one post a day or a thousand, but there's always a few whingers who seem to have a problem with it and it's especially a non-issue when we've got genuine spammers and trolls tearing up the forum. Seems to be fine to do that as long as you don't have a signature.
