1241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Bitcoin have any real value? on: October 02, 2021, 06:34:36 AM
I don't think there's no definite answer to that, for me there's really no physical value to bitcoin, it's kind of the same as fiat, it's the people that makes the value for those things

Difference b/w Bitcoin and FIAT is that FIAT is backed by central government and that's something missing in BTC. Probably that's why we see so much volatility in BTC price.

I do agree that bitcoin is just a piece a code and this code has made it to 60k$ in just a decade. The reason why I am investing in BTC is that it has a community that is present everywhere in the world and its growing. In the end, its just your personal decision why you invest in anything. @DannyHamilton very well explains this.

Gold is not backed by any asset like Bitcoin, nor by any fiat currency.  It makes me wonder if I should invest/trade in gold or not?

Fiat currency is not backed by any physical asset like Gold or Bitcoin. It makes me wonder if I should invest/trade in fiat or not?

Bitcoin doesn't need to be "backed" by anything. It is an asset. It has use. It has value. It has demand. It has supply.

1242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What are options to mine a profitable crypto on my computer. on: October 01, 2021, 05:47:47 PM
even by mining with only the desktop or laptop pc there are expenses, consumption, you need to calculate the cost of energy and have a fairly powerful pc with a good cpu and gpu, for the mining cpu (with at least 8 cores) i recommend mining uplexa on cryptonight upx algorithm, instead with the gpu (at least 4gb of ram) i recommend to mine firo on mtp algorithm

Yes there are expenses on mining with desktop and laptop, not to forget the possibility of heating up the devices that may cause irreversible damage. Its very difficult to exactly find out the ratio of power consumption to coin mined. Do you have any calculator that tells how much profit one can generate by mining uplexa and Firo ?

I don’t agree with this how can you ask player’s to take less money, put yourself in their shoes would you accept less money for the hard work you put in no right?. However to save test cricket boards can make it mandatory to pay a x number of test matches if fit and selected, and that’s something the player’s too will accept.

My point is that there must be some regulation that national side schedule should not be disturbed by any league just like we see in other sports. In the end its the national side that highlights the player to be picked by T20 Leagues. How many players are picked up in leagues that haven't played any international cricket? So boards have the right to made it compulsory for players to remain available for national side. Its board that should decide not the players.
1244  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: September 30, 2021, 04:33:26 PM

My guess is that Chennai will win this match without losing any wicket. Because when the players bat for only 135 runs, they will be completely stress-free. It is very difficult to get the players out in such a situation. At the end of 6 overs, Chennai scored 46 runs. They need 88 runs from 82 balls to win. A very simple and one-sided match.

There is nothing much in this match, CSK will defiantly win this match (right now Super Kings need 68 runs in 68 balls with 10 wickets in hand) not sure with 10 wickets or less. SRH has not been able to perform well throughout this tournament, so this is something not shocking. Team at no 1 vs Team at no 8. Congrats to those who have placed there bets on CSK.
1245  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: September 30, 2021, 07:02:03 AM
Actually Test match is the match of interview of a good cricketers but most of the cricketers now denied him from test match. Recently moien Ali a gentle man from England cricket team already decided to given off test cricket because he could have enough time for one day and t20 match.

Moin Ali has played enough test cricket before retiring from it i.e. 64 tests. Right now preference of every cricketer is T20 aka IPL, where you player for shorter period of time and earn huge money. Of course no one pays to players and boards more then IPL. In my view, there is dire need of regulation in cricket - every baord must ensure that there players play Test and ODIs from national side and should not be running after heavily paid T20 tournaments throughout the year.

1247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Huge gains and still holding ? on: September 26, 2021, 05:01:06 AM
Recently, a friend of mine raised $1.8 million from holding 10,000 SOL since January. It was a huge profit, he was very lucky to hold SOL.

He raises 1.8 million $ since he bought SOL on some very low and sell them at its ATH (or close to that). OP point of view is that there is no reason to HODL a coin if you are getting good profit. Imagine you have SOL bought at 3$ in Jan 2021 and you still prefer to HODL it n Sep 2021 when its on 180$. You must have a clear point of exit, to win in crypto?
1248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ransomware and Bitcoin on: September 26, 2021, 04:49:24 AM
There are many way to do money laundering. Even if those hackers use worthless new coin but they agree with the value of it then it is works. Law enforcement should focus on the hackers. I think even if bitcoin is not exist those hackers will still have desire to hack to get money. The problem is the human not bitcoin. I am pretty surprised that some people has that way of thinking.

Fraudulent and illicit activities are happening since centuries and will continue in days to come, there is no way to eliminate them. Government can play its role to minimize them. Hacking was there even before BTC came into existence. Technology is double edge sword and it has both good and bad usages. AFAIK, government just using such issue to do more opposition to crypto rather then targeting the real issue.
1249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin anonymous? on: September 26, 2021, 04:42:44 AM

When I only started working with crypto, I thought that bitcoin is completely anonymous and it is impossible to track, who is the owner of money. But while I was learning more about Bitcoin technologies, I understood that all addresses can be checked and due to IP address, or your personal information on centralised exchange, you can be found. So privacy is an open question in crypto.

Lets put aside the exchanges, in my opinion (centralized exchanges like Binance) are against the spirit of Bitcoin i.e. decentralization. If IP address is the only way you can be tracked then its not very hard to hide your IP address these days (VPN, OPsec etc.). I don't know the extent by which you can be digitally tracked but there are defiantly ways to hide your digital IDs.
1250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Long Term Investment Suggestion on: September 25, 2021, 06:25:03 AM
In my opinion, there are many altcoins that deserve to be recommended as long-term investments, but altcoins that are in the top 10 CMC are altcoins that have a greater chance of growing higher in the future, such as ETH BNB Cardano polkadot litecoin and Solana,  Hopefully this can be a reference for all of us.
Current dip is an ideal time to buy altcoins. Its like grand clearance sale on crypto. Market fell down but its very much stable and based on last 6 months data there is fare chance that market may recover. I have strong feeling that ETH may touches 4k once again.
This is just my own opinion, DYOR before you invest anything.
1251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it a good Time to Buy? on: September 25, 2021, 06:15:06 AM
Did China's banning of crypto transactions affected Cryptocurrency as a whole. It has Bitcoin in its target sights for a long time now. And now it is targeting the whole of cryptocurrency as a whole. We do not know if this is it and that in a few days Bitcoin will rebound back to 50,000 dollars but that remains to be seen. Clearly it only shows that the events now only cause Bitcoin to go down but not falter or suffer. It is only a little bump in the road that I know Bitcoin can handle.

I think they are targeting BTC and its decentralized allies like ETH etc. China and other governments wont have much issues with centralized cryptos like XRP. Though BTC had a major set back yesterday after China news came out but it got stable since then. In my oponion its good time to buy bitcoin as there is fair chance that it may go up again to 50k.

1253  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Things to know before trading. on: September 25, 2021, 05:58:57 AM
Exactly! that's the first thing to do if you are trading, you must first of all do some research about the coin you are investing in.The potentiality of the coin is the most important thing that matters.Knowing the value of the coin in years to come,or a year to come should be very important to u as a person going into trading.
There are some coins that are available to invest in,but they won't bring good profit in years to come,so do research and go for the ones that are promising.

I just have a different point of view on that. This research method may hold true in stock market where every stock is backed by some physical company whose profit or loss determines the price of the stock. Here is crypto, the price of all coins is mostly dependent on bitcon. When bitcoin goes up even the shitcoins joins in and makes it to ATH. You can DYOR to separate good coins from shitcoins but price will go up only when BTC goes up.
1254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Vs Future? on: September 25, 2021, 05:51:24 AM

very reasonable because no one can predict it because besides that bitcoin is very difficult to predict.
and actually you only see from the side of the decline if like that you were not aware before the decline which I think is only a correction like this happened and was reported with excessive and bearish tone.
let's not forget also a few years ago when at that time bitcoin was still priced at $3k and now $42k it's a pretty fantastic increase.

There is no market (equity, forex, crypto etc) that goes only up, market takes correction after bull run and market also goes into bear mode for long period of time. Stocks also crashes ( The Stock Market Crash of 2008 ) just like crypto, we may say crypto is more volatile then other trading markets.
Yesteray BTC fell down from 45k to 40k after news of China ban on crypto came out. Based on historical data available its almost impossible to predict future of crypto market. You have to understand what crypto market is before you invest in it.

1255  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The more popular Bitcoin is, the more valuable it is? on: September 25, 2021, 05:26:20 AM

Bitcoin is becoming more and more common for daily payments. If it is more convenient for everyone to buy bitcoins and use bitcoins for daily payments, will the price of bitcoins get lower and lower?

I dont think BTC is getting popular in terms of daily payments, its still far away from daily payments because of reasons like scalability, fee, price volatility etc. If BTC made it to daily payments then price will surly shoot up since the demand will go up but we have a controlled inflation i.e. there are limited no of bitcoins.

Quote
Do you think Bitcoin will be devalued in the future?

Due to price vlatility BTC has gone down and up in value numerous times. We cant predict how BTC will behave in next hour how can we predict the future.
1256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: feel like never wanting to use crypto again on: September 24, 2021, 05:56:41 PM
What is/are your bad experiences? You can share it here, so maybe we can help you or give an advice or answer for the things that make you confused.

Since for me, since I started using crypto, I never thought I will not use it again. I find more confortable using cryptocurrency since my first experience using it.

To understand the beauty of crypto you have to use it first. Most people have no idea that how banks are manipulating there own hard earned money. With BTC its a different story, as btc gives authority of your money back in your hands. You are no more dependent on banking hours, no more middlemen cuts bla bla
1257  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All crypto declared illegal in China!!!!!!!!!!!!! on: September 24, 2021, 05:49:50 PM
Of course it is, that is what socialism is all about: The State is supreme. Bitcoin circumvents the State, so this is the natural reaction. The central bank is the natural enemy of Bitcoin, because Bitcoin makes banks and central banks obsolete. However it is a technology, so its like banning electricity because it may end the job of the gas lamp industry.

In this case it is very clear: Bitcoin removes the State and Banks power over money. Let it be, the wealth they reject will flow elsewhere, in the end they cannot stop it, no matter what.

Its not only socialism which consider Bitcoin as enemy, its same in capitalism also. Sooner or later we have to see this reaction from central authorities and with growing popularity of bitcoin we hear it in 2021. China did somewhat same in 2017 and it bought BTC dip, I take this a buying opportunity rather a moment to curse governments.

1259  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: September 23, 2021, 06:31:54 AM
Whats strange is role of ICC. I don't see any single statement of ICC official in latest tour cancellation by CZN and ECB. If boards have to decide matters by themselves then whats the role of keeping ICC?
ICC can't do anything because they are busy in counting money which is coming from IPL, so please don't disturb them and now as already mention by many crickets is just a political game no gentlemen's game. England is slammed by their own authorities, but this all is useless they are Big 3 in ICC they can do anything with any weak country, but surely they have to face karma for this all in future because here every one having chance for his own strategies and planning's currently Pakistan cricket is under serious problems for last 2 decades, and I am sure they can handle this all as well.

All cricketing boards must understand that bad time can be on any board and at any time, they must understand and help each other in hour of need. There are few international matches in Pakistan when teams of RSA, West indies, Sri lanka and Zimbabwe toured Pakistan.
Whats painful is that media reports that boards like CNZ, ECB and CA puts security of players first, which means Sri lanka, RSA, WI and Zimbabwe don't care for security of there players. Only White life matter in the eyes of western media.
1260  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: September 22, 2021, 06:29:12 PM
Show me proof that Pakistan is blacklisted by FATF.
The fact is that Pakistan is never been in the FATF blacklist. I can understand that some wishes can't come true. Cheesy

I wonder why you and all Indians feel so happy to speak the things which never exists ? and Yes, after the cancellation of New Zealand tour, it was expected that England will announce the same.

I am not an Indian citizen, but it is a fact that Pakistan is facing issues for many decades now. Blaming India will not resolve the issue. The user whom you quoted was wrong. Pakistan was never blacklisted by the FATF. However, FATF is currently investigating them for links to banned entities.

https://thediplomat.com/2021/02/will-pakistan-come-off-the-fatf-grey-list/

Currently they are on the "greylist".

The real threat for the PCB is that other countries would follow the example of CNZ (ECB, CA.etc) and refuse to tour Pakistan. That will result in huge losses to the PCB. Already they are in bad financial state due to the pandemic.

Whats strange is role of ICC. I don't see any single statement of ICC official in latest tour cancellation by CZN and ECB. If boards have to decide matters by themselves then whats the role of keeping ICC?

Instead, the overwhelming impression given by this week's withdrawal is that England want other countries to help them in their hour of need but will do very little in return. Unless, of course, there is big money involved Paul NewMan Daily Mail
