we don't really need 3D printing, but virtual reality houses.  so we can just store people like sardines in the matrix, but live in a beautiful Minecraft mansion in their thoughts

We don't really need trolls either.

It seems they are real, they also print guns. Organs, skin bones. Maybe they can build computers. This will a useful tool in nanotech.

Not sure they can print skin and organs.

Not a long time ago in I_Dont_Remember_Which_Country quite an interesting operation took place. Some girl received a 3D printed skull (part of it). Her own bone was too small for her brain and this was the decision.

So I don't know about the skin and organs, but hard enough plastic that can be used instead of a skull is a reality Smiley

I'm aware of that as I mentioned above, but skin and organs are an entirely different matter.

Nope they can, search for ghost organs. The organs don't have blood in them yet so they look kinda transparent hence the name 'ghost organs'

Pretty sure ghost organs aren't 3D printed.

3D printing is not over-rated but quite expensive.

Isn't all new technology? It'll quickly get cheaper.
12405  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-04-11] Megaupload founder wants official cryptocurrency on: April 11, 2014, 01:20:54 PM
because he did hoard enough btc?
Back in 2011 he got a chance of moving into btc but he didnt. Now he wants to make his pump and dump coin.

Oh.. I got it. He want to create some shitcoin, of which 50% or more will be pre-mined by him. Best of luck with that. And good luck to those idiots who will fall in to this trap (there will be plenty for sure).

Article doesn't really give much information to what he's planning, but all a coin needs is a public figurehead behind it and it'll draw much attention.
12406  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can the U.S. government meddle with BitCoin code? on: April 11, 2014, 01:17:31 PM
They could try, but it wouldn't work. America is not the world.

Have you seen this video of Quarks android wallet.

Now that is super fast! I am really impressed by this. Now I can see businesses adopting to this with ease.

One of the biggest problems and frustrations I face when talking to friends about Bitcoin is the confirmation times. We all remember the 1st time buying bitcoin and waiting for transers to exchanges. Its just not practical.

Bitcoin needs to improve its confirmation times. What do you guys think?

Page isn't loading, but Bitcoin is sent instantly, it's just the confirmation times that take a while. Exchanges being slow isn't Bitcoins fault. How long does Quark take to fully confirm?
12408  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What Types of Signature Deals Do YOU Want To See? on: April 11, 2014, 01:11:18 PM
I do not have high activity for any champaign yet. I think pay per post is fairer for the campaign owner, fixed rate for a given number of post is good for the forum, while a fixed rate based on activity alone is unfair for both parties.

While being paid on a per post basis may be good for some, it has the unfortunate tendency to promote spamming - hence the signature restrictions that were imposed on lower activity members to make signature advertising for those who spam (mainly lower level members) far less effective.

Hasn't made much of a difference members are still paid around 0.0003 or so per post, it just to be as low as 0.0002 per post for everyone even hero members.

PD's rates were lowered significantly after the changes and I think were only then raised due to competition from Ritz.

There's no point I needed to figure out, but suggestions very rarely ever get processed or implemented.
It's not like I've been trying to say this the whole time.  Roll Eyes

What the hell are you mumbling about? Especially futile when you yourself acknowledge that they don't get processed  Roll Eyes.
12410  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Obligatory I'm not dead or running post on: April 11, 2014, 12:41:23 PM
Yeah, but see this post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=412061.msg6088230#msg6088230

Plus Theymos said he's unlikely to release this stuff without a reasonable police request or something.

Hm... wouldn't they still have logs from before he was using a VPN/Tor? Or does theymos not keep any logs at all after a certain period of time?

What I don't get is that if he wanted to scam he could have easily waited for a few more escrow orders to come in to get more and then run off - with the worst case scenario only having to return the forums coins if theymos had leverage over him via his details.

Yes, it is a very bizarre situation, but he apparently had a group buy escrow still held as well (and possibly others). I can't speak on behalf of what logs theymos retains, but forums I've modded on before tend to keep a log of all IPs used, but that's irrelevant if he won't give them out and there might not be much you could do with them anyway.

Still selling accounts. Buy 10 accounts and get 1 for free.

Haha. Can I buy 10 newb accounts and get a Snr free?

Unless he feared the forum owners would reveal his identity?

Do they actually have all his dox or some partial information about his identity?

Man, after 3 months he still hasn't said a word or even logged in. Talk about a hiatus.

He went AWOL for quite a while before he returned as well. Seems it might've happened before in the past too from what I gather.

Do they actually have all his dox or some partial information about his identity?
I don't know SMF but forums usually have a record of all IPs ever used to post. That certainly can be useful.

Yeah, but see this post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=412061.msg6088230#msg6088230

didn't hear that name for a long time and visited myspace. looks like it became some kind of online hipster database. what is it supposed to be good for offically?

Haven't been on it in years, but are hipsters using it ironically now and trying to make it 'cool' again?  Cheesy
12415  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investors looking to buy MtGox for 1 BTC on: April 11, 2014, 09:29:29 AM

It's not going to happen.
12416  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you f...ing kidding me? on: April 11, 2014, 09:27:31 AM
There are better and faster coins than bitcoin now, bitcoin is dying and only thing keeping it afloat is the fact that it was the first. Open your eyes, come to reality, wake up from your slumber

Which ones exactly?

Probably the one he's trying to promote (but it's probably not faster like they say they are).
12417  Other / Off-topic / Re: The Goats are out of the pen. Where do we get our milk from now? on: April 11, 2014, 09:09:50 AM
I figured Matt started that story because he was pissed. Goat made lots of money here. I just can't believe he'd delete everything and walk away.

Wasn't it the other way around? He even went as far as to offer a bounty to anyone who could prove the other guy was involved in CP. And maybe him making a lot of money from this forum is now why it's 'served it's purpose' and he no longer needs it anymore.
12418  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-04-08] Major French Supermarket Chain to Accept Bitcoin on: April 11, 2014, 08:18:10 AM
I don't see how this will work. It can take an hour to confirm a transaction. They won't let random people buy 100+ dollars worth of stuff without some kind of identification system and extra fees.

How would it be any different from any of the other stores that currently accept BTC?

The French Groupe Casino has nothing to do with gambling.

Damn... this is why I never liked the French language.

What does the French language have to do with this?

Ever heard about Procter & Gamble? Are you brushing your teeth and washing your clothes at the casino too? Wink

Haha.
12419  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-04-10] Bitcoin May Be Poised for a Major Comeback on: April 11, 2014, 08:12:56 AM
I was tempted by the headline. But unfortunately the article does not list any solid reasons for the BTC exchange rate to go up. They are just saying that Bitcoin investors want to get rich, so it will go up (sic).

Yeah, key words 'may be' here. I'm sure there are plenty of entrepreneurs who may be interested in investing in Bitcoin /related companies, but I'm also sure these price fluctuations will scare most of them off.
12420  Economy / Speculation / Re: if BTC crashes to $100... on: April 11, 2014, 08:04:27 AM
...that would be so awesome.  I'd load up the boat BIGTIME.

Why? What if you buy in then it crashes to $50?
