12421  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Help! Ledger nano s not show my bitcoins on: July 11, 2018, 05:56:00 PM
It's because segwit addresses cannot sign messages.
Electrum signs , but it's nonstandard and other wallets do not recognize it.

Only legacy addresses signs, and you are using a segwit walleton ledger live.

You need to somehow create a legacy Wallet on ledger live. Maybe if you click create new account and add another btc wallet and Mark as legacy. I didn't tried to do this but it may work.

As I said, I think you should work on chrome app or Electrum for now.

12422  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Help! Ledger nano s not show my bitcoins on: July 11, 2018, 04:56:36 PM
Hello,

I get the private key from that address. Looks like is at 95 position. Thanks for help guys.

Nice that you could recover your coins.
I think it is good to avoid posting your keys on the internet.

The ledger live create only bitcoin segwit addresses?

I tried and couldn't create one legacy on the new software either.
In the old app you need to create a new account. You will have two wallets, one for Segwit and other for legacy.

This a new software (few days old) and probably has many bugs.

I think it is better (to avoid this situation again) to create a new legacy wallet in the old chrome app or in Electrum.

Just tested video is ok. It's a video about one answer in a TV show.

Well, I think it's worth watching. As I said, it was made by a democrat and he looks impressed also. He speaks in a way that he looks dumb.
12424  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Help! Ledger nano s not show my bitcoins on: July 11, 2018, 01:35:02 PM
Ian Coleman Tool may work.

Try change addresses as well(account 1) as you may have some difficult finding the address. I believe this is a derivation issue.

Maybe you can search in Google how ledger nano generate this change address, what derivation they use.

If you have luck, you will find it straight away in ian Coleman.

I suggest that you transfer all your funds before using and reset your nano. Do not use those addresses again because you will compromise the seed.
12425  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Help! Ledger nano s not show my bitcoins on: July 11, 2018, 12:11:40 PM
That's weird.

Maybe something is wrong on the derivation path.

How did you generate this address? Anything unusual?

Yes i used an address from sign message. I tried your codes but no get more addresses

That's the problem, wrong derivation path

This address is not segwit.
Have you tried legacy derivation path on Electrum?
Have you tried legacy Wallet in ledger chrome app?

You probably generated this address in a segwit wallet, right? It is because segwit addresses do no sign message, so ledger wallet generate s a legacy address instead
12426  Economy / Services / Re: Buying old bitcoin addresses (no airdrops/bch, they can be useless) on: July 11, 2018, 10:32:49 AM
About a year ago I saw a post explaining how someone can prove to be an early adopter and how that would help you cash out your btc and receive millions of dollars in a bank account, without any problem. Proving that it is not money laundering

Even an old bitcointalk account would do itin some cases
12427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Security around crypto on: July 11, 2018, 02:47:23 AM
Never heard of this project.

Be aware that ICO are highly risk. If you don't know exactly what you are doing, if you don't have a strong reason to invest in this project, don't invest.

There are many projects related to cryptocurrencies security out there.

It definitely should show on Electrum
12429  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Help! Ledger nano s not show my bitcoins on: July 10, 2018, 11:34:49 PM
Type your address at blockchain.com website

Check if the balance is correct there.

If the transfered value does not show on blockchain.com, you didn't receive it.

You can also use Electrum wallet, it works well with nano s.

12431  Other / Ivory Tower / How Donald Trump Answers A Question on: July 10, 2018, 08:45:30 PM
I discovered this old video few days ago.

It was created by a democrat, who is analyzing how Trump answered a simple question.

It is very interesting and I was very impressed with Trump's abilities.

He speaks in a very simple way and with common works. As the author of the video said, he used 220 words, and more than 170 of them were one syllable .

The guy made a nice analysis and I saw few analysis such as this one.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_aFo_BV-UzI&feature=youtu.be

This year we have presidential elections in Brazil, and we have one right wing candidate who tries to be like Trump. But he is an idiot. He fails to use his words properly and they are used against him.

Since I started used bitcointalk i am writing a lot more. Therefore I am trying to improving my writing skills. Sometimes it's very hard to make simple sentences and use simple words, as he does very naturally.

It is interesting to see at the video that he classifies trump as a 4th grade speech (based on complexity of sentences), as he uses simple sentences. And sanders was on the top as a more refined speech.
However I think it's much easier to make complex sentences than simple ones.

12433  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How Should I proceed in blockchain development on: July 10, 2018, 06:39:48 PM
You will need programming skills if you want to dive into blockchain development.

People also refer to Solidity development, but it look more of  smart contract on Ethereum platform, I am right now, not interested in that.

Solidity is pretty easy to learn. It is mostly self-explanatory.
You should start with some basic languages and learn the general approach / routines when developing a software.

Hello Bob.
Can you suggest me a basic language and general approach to begin?
Where and how can I start to learn something like that?

I k ow a bit JavaScript...
12434  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the Blockchain getting abused? on: July 10, 2018, 11:41:25 AM
Is the ICO's are killing the blockchain and Satoshi's dream?

ICO are the evolution of Satoshi's dream. This is nonsense.

ICO removes the money and the companies from the traditional stock market, with whales and institutional money, to the cryptocurrency market.

It brings the possibilities to people, to small investors... now a small investor from Africa can join an ICO from a promissing company in South Korea without any bureaucratic regulation stopping or charging high fees for that.

ICOs are revolutionary.

Many things depends on being poor or not.

Stupidity helps, but it's not the only factor.

There are stupid rich people too
12436  Economy / Economics / Re: Mistakes That Make You Poor Poor In Cryptocurrency on: July 10, 2018, 11:16:32 AM
I lost a lot of money in trading too =(

Day trading and swing trading are very common mistakes people do in the beginning.

12439  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Merit Source (fonte de mérito) Brasuca on: July 09, 2018, 02:24:06 PM

12440  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How Should I proceed. on: July 09, 2018, 11:36:47 AM
I have gone through the book "Mastering Bitcoin" and I am not able to completely  grasp  it.  I just need a break from reading and need to do something practical.

Is "https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/" is the original copy?
How  should I  read the source  code?
Do I need to install some specific program /compilers  for it

Mastering bitcoin will explain how bitcoin works, not only how bitcoin core software works.

The author suggests that you can skip one chapter (related to bitcoin core commands) and go back later. I did that, and it was good. I am not a developer and got a nice understand from the book.

Even if you are focused in Bitcoin core commands , I think you should read the whole book first to understand what it can really do and how, before trying to learn by yourself on GitHub.
