Chances are it's a race between only two of the five listed contenders. I voted the Atlas option to get the ball a rollin'.

From the surprisingly entertaining USA Today article:
Quote
The agents also were clumsy in their removal of his equipment, Brown said.

"They left me with the impression of a bunch of apes with screwdrivers punching away at stuff."

Not every ape makes the cut to protect a monkey in the White House.

Perhaps a timeline of events is in order. The flash drive was claimed to have the tax files stolen on August 25. On September 5 is when it hit Venurebeat. If this is true, then the flash drive would have to been obtained prior to then.

Now, you want to see/read something really weird. There's a cat in Turkey now referred to as Obama Cat because supposedly Obama petted said cat while visiting the country. To even the untrained eye, one could see the resemblance to the Franklin Feline.

Trivia: What is currently the official breed of cat in D.C.?

I'll give it a shot. But my submission will be of my own idea. I don't think I can get my head/ass wrapped around your suggestions.

12445  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: millionbitcoins.com on: November 12, 2012, 07:16:19 PM
How exactly is this a scam?  I mean is it stupid?  Yup.  Is buying advertising space a horribly bad idea?  Yup.

Neither of which make it is a scam.  Thread should be closed.  If everything is a scam then scam means nothing.

The system is not in place and is already asking for funds. Of course this is not exactly a scam. Bruno was being sarcastic when he started the thread. However, it could turn out to be a scam. Precaution is not detrimental for business with legitimate goals. If Mr Graaf is truly committed to offer a genuine advertising platform, no user in this forum will stop him.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=123777.0

Yes, I was only being sarcastic. In fact, I will be the first one surprised if this is truly a scam, but at this, and prior, pennings, I currently don't think so. Maybe the mods can whitelist him, so that he can contribute fully to this forum.

I'm not closing this thread for now--maybe later. The posts/posters above should be clear enough that this is not a serious attempt to give the owner a scammer tag, for the owner was not even a member of this board (as far as we know) prior to me starting this thread.

That said, let the fun continue. If, by chance, this is a scam, please start a new thread. At that point I may strongly consider closing down this one to not bring any confusion to the reclaimed barn wood farm table (with hand tooled leather place mats).

My hope would be that JanG joins this threads detailing how he's going to start a charity goat petting...

Don't worry. Nobody really takes Phinnaeus Gage seriously.

I think a more serious threat is this site: http://bitcoinpixels.com, a direct competitor.

I have a serious side and a fun side. The scam posting was my fun side coming through, and have stated in those posts that I was serious. I just happened to come across your site via Google while looking for something else. I don't find your site a scam whatsoever. I look forward to you becoming a full member and joining in the fun on that thread. At the very least you'll gain some free advertising and hopefully some coins in your coffer.

I'm going to that thread now and make sure things are set right.

Later, scammer bud.  Grin

12450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Foundation on: November 12, 2012, 06:48:59 PM
I'd be curious to know what the Bitcoin Foundation is up to these days.

Charlie Shrem (who I like and is obviously one of bitcoin's biggest supporters) was on Bryan Micon's Donked Down podcast recently quoting  inaccurate dates in US monetary history and claiming that the US Dollar will collapse in 3-10 years.

http://www.donkdown.com/donkdown-radio-charlie-shrem-from-bitcoin-foundation-bitinstant/

Charlie, I love the enthusiasm, but if the Bitcoin Foundation want's legitimacy and support in the community, I strongly suggest you developer some talking points or a position paper and try to stick to the facts when your members are representing the Foundation in a public forum.

Ditto! I'm the only one allowed here to fuck up the facts. Surely, Charlie, you don't people to refer to you as me.  Grin

Kidding aside, I'm sure Charlie will take your suggestion to heart and do a better job next time. Valid point(s), BCB.

Oh, I'm still alive and kicking.  Grin

Yeah, still have them, though like was said, it would not be possible to sell them all at once and become an instant millionaire.  No one is going to buy that many at once. I have kept my client running 24/7 since then though, managed to generate a bit more before the collective mining groups took over  Wink

Without the massive server farm I had going before, I'm just down to my personal desktop, so it's never gotten over the 371k since.

I do keep many, many backups though just in case  Cool

Good news! MB has many backups hidden so there's no way the Secret Service can find them. It's also a good thing that the SS don't read this forum so there's no way for them to know that they even exist.

12453  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Roger Ver's bio published on Daily Anarchist on: November 12, 2012, 04:09:52 PM
I'm very proud to announce that Roger Ver was willing to let me publish his bio. Thank you Roger! It's great! Enjoy!

http://dailyanarchist.com/2012/11/12/bitcoin-venture-capitalist-roger-vers-journey-to-anarchism/

Going to bed now. Will read tomorrow. Finally, Roger tells all about his Magic The Gathering enterprise. (unless that was left out)

Shit! Left out! But I don't care, for this only confirms why Roger is on my list of people I trust in this community.

Again, here is the short list, but please don't be offended if you don't see your name:

  • Roger Ver
  • Rassah
  • Gavin Andresen
  • theymos (the bastard who banned me--twice)
  • Charlie Shrem
  • Eric Voorhees

~Bruno K~

Wow, Im flatted  Grin

btw its Erik Voorhees

Fixed! I was thinking about his sister, Erica, and her big...
12454  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Interviews for Bitcoin Magazine on: November 12, 2012, 04:05:41 PM
I adjusted the list. Would make a fine cover story for Bitcoin Magazine's final issue. (rumor started here)

This thread will garner individual names for prospects we would like to see interviewed for inclusion in subsequent Bitcoin Magazine issues.

To get the ball a rollin', I'll start and maintain a list so that Matthew, et al., could have a handy place to view the notables. The names will be linked to some webpage to get the editor's created juices a flowin'. As time goes on, I may reshuffle the list, having names gravitate to the top if intense interest ensues.

Needless to say, any suggested names should be connected with BTCitcoin in some way or fashion but, of course, cryptographist may also be considered. I feel that including Satoshi Nakamoto to the list would serve no real world purpose. I hope you understand.

What name would you like to see on the list?

Feel free to provide me better links for the above names, sans theymos's.

Did Atlas turn this guy in to get the reward?

<snip>

You get hired by a company called "bitcoincorp" and your job is to break into a building where a company called "Knightmb corp" is located.
"Knightmb corp" has possession of a thumb drive that contains a wallet with %50 of the worlds bitcoins in it which you need to secure before govpal finds and uses to take over their last remaining competitor.

Should you have any questions, please address them to now sole Director of Bittalk Media Ltd and Editor In Chief of Bitcoin Magazine Mihai Alisie. mihai@bitcoinmagazine.com

Seriously, I wasn't serious, but you have definitely made it clear that you won't be discussing this issue on this forum. Admirable!

Later, bud.

This is a public notice that I have resigned from all my roles in Bitcoin Magazine today and from position of a Director of Bittalk Media Ltd.  I am not participating anymore in any capacity in this project with possible exception of very limited tasks related exclusively to transfer of numerous duties and tasks I have been routinely doing for the company. All my further participation in Bitcoin Magazine would only happen on very specific instructions of Bitcoin Magazine management.

I have resigned because I would like to pursue other opportunities, spend more time with my family and because at this point I believe the company and its shareholders would be better off without my presence on the board of directors.

Should you have any questions, please address them to now sole Director of Bittalk Media Ltd and Editor In Chief of Bitcoin Magazine Mihai Alisie. mihai@bitcoinmagazine.com

Is Matthew re-taking your place?

I'll take spot 123 and pledge my next 5btc of mining income (more than a month's worth).

Thanks, Garr! I've updated the OP and the official Bitcoin 100 site http://bitcoin100.org/about/partisans/ to reflect your pledge.
