12482  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: BlueWallet for iOS - Unable to move LN funds (code 10) - PLEASE HELP on: January 20, 2021, 11:04:02 AM
I know for sure, that the receiver has enough inbound capacity so this can be ruled out.
Maybe there is no route with enough capacity between you and the receiver. Can you try sending a smaller amount (say 5 sats) to test? Or try sending to another destination (for instance a LN casino) or Phoenix Wallet to see if that works?

I have no idea what I can do now to move my funds. Did someone experience this before?
I've seen errors like this, and usually it works again after a while.
12483  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🏆⚽ Adkinsbet.com | Sports | In-Play | ESports | Racebook | Virtual Sports | ⚽🏆 on: January 20, 2021, 10:40:12 AM
But Adkinsbet is pressured by a group of corrupt DT members
~
They have already give the solution.
~
I think it is good that Adkinsbet does not go into that.
AdkinsBET demands Flag Support to be removed before the victim is made whole. The Flag literally shows: "AdkinsBET did not make the victims of this act roughly whole", which is still valid. Trying to bully or bribe users into removing valid Flag Support is not how they should conduct business.

The big bookies with a lot of money can easily bribe people to buy some positive trusts. That is also what probably happened here.

Betnomi is sponsoring LoyseV. With other words: Paying him indirectly not to get any problems on the forum.
A much easier and cheaper way not to get any problems on the forum is by not trying to scam your users.

Pretty sure LoyceV and Royse777 is the same person or at least from the same group who manage it.
Actmyname and examplens are the same person also.
And there I thought we are all Lauda!

we host high-end enterprise, just in case you need some space or mirrors, you’re welcome if ever in need.
For now, I'm covered for bandwidth, thanks Smiley

So the real solution (fell asleep while studying the dataset  Cheesy) is to take the transaction_hex field and pass it as the argument to the "decoderawtransaction" RPC call. It'll return JSON where the signature script is located at [N]["vin"]["scriptSig"]["hex"] for each input index N and then get the compressed public key in the last 33 bytes of the hex.
And this just went over my head Tongue

Quote
You'll obviously need a bitcoind for that and it's possible to configure access from another machine if you're resource-constrained on the box you're parsing this address data on.

I think bitcoind should be able to handle the load, especially if it's running locally.
Although I'd like to be able to extract all data myself from Bitcoin Core (so I don't need to rely on Blockchair anymore), it also makes it much more complicated. So for now, I'll pass on this.
And I don't want to add more local data processing to what I'm doing already. If anything, I want to move more to a VPS.
12485  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: The Lightning Network FAQ on: January 20, 2021, 09:56:43 AM
Any exchange could set up such a service, but as long as the customer doesn't create his own channel, it will only be custodial.
I believe that’s a necessary trade-off. Bitcoin users from after 2018 are not all very technical people. I am not a very technical person myself, although I’ve made an effort to understand how the network works. But to handle, and maintain my own Lightning node just to use Lightning long-term? I could learn it, but I will stop running it eventually.
Bitcoin (or anything else for that matter) can't reach a large market share if it requires technical knowledge. That's why I like custodial LN so much: it's so easy! Making a payment with Phoenix Wallet is a lot faster than paying by bank now. I can even choose not to set a password, which isn't possible (nor wise) when paying by bank.
12486  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitpay introduced mandatory identification wtf on: January 20, 2021, 09:18:50 AM
Make KYC verification to spend your BTC, it just doesn't makes sense. Then I would rather simply pay with credit card than do this shit.
What if that is the real goal of KYC regulations? KYC for a creditcard would actually make sense: there's a lot of fraud with stolen cards. Bitcoin doesn't have that risk, but it does pose a risk to the position of established financial institutions. If it's a requirement, I get that Bitpay has to follow it, but from what I've read, they ask even more than required by regulations.
12487  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: List of all Bitcoin addresses with a balance on: January 20, 2021, 09:07:42 AM
@LoyceV do you know how to find out which Bitcoin block Blockchair's database dumps are taking a snapshot of?
My guess would have been midnight ("Blockchair time"), but it's not because this transaction mined 2021-01-20 00:10 is already included in the LATEST data dump.
If you want a more exact snapshot time: just compare current balances for a few recent transactions and see which one is included in the latest data dump.
12488  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: List of all Bitcoin addresses ever used - currently available on temp location on: January 19, 2021, 09:53:27 PM
Is it possible to link the public key for every bitcoin address in your database?
If I can get the data I can add it. I'm no expert on this, can I use anything from inputs (maybe spending_signature_hex?) to get this data?
12489  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Check if there's any BCH left in my address on: January 19, 2021, 06:14:32 PM
I really don't understand how that replay protection thing works. I get the idea, but I'll need to dig into it.
As long as you have an input that doesn't exist on the other chain, the transaction can't be replayed there. I can send you some "dust" to ensure it can't be replayed, just give me a BCH addy and add my dust to your transaction.
Disclaimer: this might compromise your privacy by exposing your addresses. It's up to you if that's worth it.

Did you add replay protection
No idea what that is or if I did Roll Eyes
Replay protection stops other Forkcoins from transferring to the same address on their respective chain. BCH/BSV/BCH-A by default don't use replay protection.

The Poloniex address is 13jaEByoEb78iMAVM7QsJosxxwZbt3hr9k
Blockchair shows only BCH has moved. Your sending address had received the transaction on the same day (I guess you sent that within your own wallet), and those funds were received in 2014. This address still holds BCH-A and BSV. If you have a significant amount, you can claim BSV/BCD/BTG/BCH-A too. If it's only a few bucks worth of BCH, the others lower than BSV may not be worth your time.
12492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Check if there's any BCH left in my address on: January 19, 2021, 04:39:38 PM
imported the old private keys into Electron Cash to claim my BCH
~
Tried a different exchange and it worked.
Did you add replay protection, or did you accidentally send your BSV and BCH-A to the same exchange too?

50,000 Sats is the limit for a fee of 1 Sat/byte.

I checked all addresses with less than 50,000 sat. The total balance is 18,088.92659937 BTC. That means FreeBitco.in owns 1.266% of all dust.
In total, 22,918,211 addresses hold less than 50,000 sat. Assuming an even distribution, 1.226% puts you at around 290,000 inputs. This is enough to fill about 43 blocks. Assuming my estimate on the number of addresses is correct: consolidating everything at 1 sat/byte would cost 0.43 BTC, which is only 0.19% of the 229 BTC value.
I'll have to check with wetsuit but I think the even distribution isn't that even. He said the cost would be greater than 5%.
Edit:
wetsuit just clarified it. The 5% number was completely wrong, most likely a memory lapse on my part.
My numbers were wrong too: I completely forgot the possibility of an address having multiple inputs, and I only looked at the total balance per address. The total number of small inputs is likely to be much larger.

Quote
The 229 BTC is made up of 1,382,227 UTxOs. So if 50 takes 9,850 bytes that's 197 bytes each meaning 272,298,719 bytes total or minimum cost of 2.72298719 BTC.
Thanks for the numbers. Fees are probably not enough to make a deal with a miner to include your transactions at less than 1 sat/byte when blocks have space left.

Are you sure Lauda was a participant of this Campaign?
Yes Smiley
The address can't be found anymore though, so it looks like all related posts have been deleted.

Update: Ninja beat me to it Sad
12495  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ on: January 18, 2021, 10:02:58 PM
Effective this week, campaign payments have decreased to $6 USD/post. All other rules remain the same.
End of an era! It was very nice while it lasted. 191 weeks without pay reduction straight through 2 bull runs must be a record on Bitcointalk.
I'm slightly disappointed it's now pegged to USD though. I was hoping we'd reach rediculously high amounts per post again if when Bitcoin goes up 10 fold again Tongue

I don't recall when was the last time someone left voluntarily
Probably (or, provably) no one.
I remember Lauda left this campaign a while ago and moved to FortuneJack, but I can't find back the post.

That's a lot of dust (229), I wonder if there's a plan to at least manually try and consolidate all of that in stages?
The plan is to wait for the minimum mining fees to be reduced. We would pay too high a percentage of the value to move them. There was talk previously about reducing it from 1 Sat/byte to 0.1 Sats/byte. I personally think it is inevitable at some point when BTC price becomes much higher.
I think that plan was canceled. Fees are >1 sat/byte most of the time, and even though Bitcoin prices keep increasing, there's no point in reducing the minimum fee as long as blocks are full.

When you deposit to us we sweep funds greater than 0.00050000 to 1Fu3iBR2EMQWeYGi3XvrPmcPUkne8ZWj9h
There is currently 229 BTC of dust deposits that haven't been swept.
Interesting! Considering the current consolidation happens at 3 sat/byte, you could probably consolidate at least everything between 20,000 and 50,000 sats at 1 sat/byte. Make the transactions separate from the higher amounts, and just keep broadcasting until it confirms.

I checked all addresses with less than 50,000 sat. The total balance is 18,088.92659937 BTC. That means FreeBitco.in owns 1.266% of all dust.

And of course implement Segwit for future deposits Smiley

it's actually been quite a while since i've used bitrefill. i remembered the markup being ~2% many months ago, but it's ~0.8% now. that's not accounting for the 1% bonus either---not bad at all.
Bitrefill's markup varies per gift card. For small gift cards I don't really care, as long as I don't have to pay a hefty on-chain consolidation fee.

If you are comfortable trusting Bitrefill to hold some funds on your behalf, then you can always top up your account with some bitcoin when transactions fees are low, which will allow you to purchase cards instantly at a future date.
My preferred method nowadays is to fund a LN-wallet when on-chain fees are low, and use LN to pay Bitrefill when I need it.

My guess is they sell those gift cards in a low enough of a volume that costs associated with procuring the gift cards is so high they need to charge more.
My guess is some merchants give them a better price for the gift card, for instance clothes sellers that have a large profit margin.

I think they're being overly cautious, though, small transactions up to 150 EUR/month should be excluded, and there are ways of avoiding even that for businesses like Bitpay in some circumstances, unless the Netherlands, where Bitpay's EU HQ are located, has decided to implement the directive more stringently.
The Dutch National Bank has implemented stricter crypto-regulations than required by EU, see Bitonic.nl.

(getting KYCed to buy a pizza!) is utterly ridiculous.
Isn't it enough the pizza guy knows where to bring it?

My impression is that the AML/KYC requirements kick in when money -- including bitcoin -- is exchanged for gift cards, not when gift cards are redeemed at the issuer.
In the Netherlands, the most common gift card (VVV) is treated as an anonymous prepaid creditcard (info in Dutch). That means you can't pay more than €50 at once online.

I use crypto to pay for 3 different webhosts, and one of them has no other option than Bitpay. I haven't been hit by KYC on BitPay yet, and I'd hate to lose this host over this. I specifically choose Bitcoin for privacy, otherwise I could just pay by creditcard (which is less intrusive than sending selfies).
Update: I checked, the webhost uses CoinPayments.net, so I'm good (for now).

Found a response on Reddit from a BitPay staff member: https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/kvujzq/fck_bitpay_use_coingate/gj0w8se/. It seems like they have introduced or are introducing mandatory KYC for all EU customers, regardless of value of transaction.
If only more people would care and ignore them. They can probably afford to lose a small percentage of their customers, but if they'd lose 95% of their business, they might change their requirements.
If it's for EU: would a VPN in Mexico work? Cheesy
12498  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitpay introduced mandatory identification wtf on: January 18, 2021, 03:48:35 PM
I suggest to take this discussion to BitPay -- KYC is here!.
12499  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [List] Gift cards providers on: January 18, 2021, 03:11:35 PM
It seems to be a flat 10% fee instead of BTC0.0001.
I've noticed small inaccuracies too, when paying from my account balance (in euro). Some gift cards added 6%, others (like amazon.nl) even more than 10%. But nowadays it's shown before adding it to my shopping cart.
What happens if you select Bitcoin Lightning Network to pay with, instead of your account balance?
12500  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: The Lightning Network FAQ on: January 18, 2021, 12:27:34 PM
I didn't need lightning network since I don't transact bitcoins very often, but right now I'll need it for micro-payments.
You could exchange some low-fee altcoin for Bitcoin on the Lightning Network through an instant exchange and have it send to your custodial LN wallet to avoid on-chain Bitcoin transactions. The minimum for Doge to BTCLN on for instance FixedFloat.com is less than a euro worth of coins.

Would it be possible to onboard non-Bitcoin users straight to Lightning, without having them to go through buying their own coins from an exchange, setting up their own wallets, and all the other steps? I believe a hosted service like that would be the most practical.
Any exchange could set up such a service, but as long as the customer doesn't create his own channel, it will only be custodial.
