Bitcoin is an isolate economy.
It can grow and evolve without global economy ... local is more signifiquience if financial crysis append (a real one, not the 2008 little baby).

I already have 2/3 of my money in BTC ... i have start this conversion since december 2013.
But, in my country, to be not marked has blacklist in Bank, i can't convert all my fiat in 1 shot.
my problem is the euro law (december 2013) to freeze and steal money from customers to bail out (like in cyprus).

faudrait aussi changer la police ... car là, l'antialiasing ... crée un superbe flou.  |

pareil :nourriture boisson vetement seraient les 3 premiers trucs où je mettrais du bitcoin ... tout simplement car c'est quelque chose que tu peux avoir tout de suite et que tu as sous les yeux (on peut pas te tromper). comme le bitcoin en somme ...

 en plus vous êtes chanceux d'être francophones. On se le demande souvent ... si c'est encore bénéfique à quelqu'un ici. à la limite, je serais islandais ou danmarkien ... que ça serait plus "neutre".

1) buy 5 usb key
2) install bitcoin-core
3) use a new wallet every 2-5 BTC stored on
4) save like a picture ... from the bitcoin-core "file" menu
5) 2-3 years after
6) install bitcoin-core
7) rename the saves with wallet.dat
8 ) replace the wallet.dat by your wallet saved
9) spend BTC or move sum to an other bitcoin adress (wallet in smartphone for example)
only the way that i have tested succesfuly.
wallet in other way and from an other software (android, other windows soft) don't work ... they change the wallet.dat file every 6 months ...

I don't know much about 2011, but in 2010 it was extremely easy to buy Bitcoins. Because the most important exchange at that time (New Liberty Standard) accepted both Paypal and CC (Visa / Master). And you won't believe the exchange rates. It was 1$ = BTC1,309.03. at this time, virwox allow 1000 euros per day with paypal or CC ... limited to 10 000 euros per month (ID required = Level 4 after xxx months). but fees are ... |

they do this because they are desperate ... and lobbyist do a good work, too. not a problem ... bitcoin is made to buy and sell "by the hand". if professionnal exchange fail ... local exchange (like the saturday market) do the job. like drug dealer job. |

the problem is that the bitcoin app is not protected by password when you open it ... only when you want restore wallet from a backup.
if phone is stollen, thief can easly transfer money in minute to an other bitcoin adress.
i agree that password complicate the noobs user ... but, with real money ... thing must be secure.
