12521  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Advertising Bitcoin : responsibility of the community on: April 19, 2016, 09:55:52 AM
Why this thread out of all the threads you could attack for signature spam, you choose one that is talking about getting people out and actively contributing to bringing in more people. Must have something against the OP otherwise this really feels off when you can see a ton of thread on "How can I make _____ bitcoin" that go unchecked!
Stating facts != attack (keep in mind that I wrote "I highly suggest"). I've replied here as I'm aware of the issue and interested in solutions. Sig. campaign is inevitable. Take a look in other threads in this section that have a lot of replies.

Getting more people in the community involved has to be addressed and brainstorming is the best way of achieving this.
Show me what this 'community' achieved. Roll Eyes

The second part, separated by the horizontal line, is going to be the most ON-TOPIC (and interesting)
Exactly; it is good to know that at least some people understand it.

All my intention is just helping Bitcoin's fans to advertise this currency in many ways and methods, and i think that's helpful and already needed.
I agree with it being needed as I've mentioned that in my post already. However, keep in mind that a long thread of thousands of posts does nothing. Just talking is ineffective, action needs to be taken. Once you have enough suggestions it might be wise to lock it as you are just going to keep getting the same (albeit rewritten) replies.

This will take a while to explain however i have sent you PM, at least there should be somewhere to appeal unjustifiable -ve trust feedback.
So what is the point of opening a thread if you aren't going to share your issue with people? You could have PM'd some people directly anyways.
12524  Other / Meta / Re: Beta of new forum software now officially open on: April 19, 2016, 06:35:26 AM
Ah, this was unexpectedly great to hear. So exactly what is the plan once the beta finishes, a merge of everything (i.e. threads and posts made on both 'forums')?
12525  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core version 0.12.1 released on: April 19, 2016, 06:29:26 AM
Anyone using XP and know if 0.12.1 fixes the crashing issue present in 0.12.0?
As far as I know XP is no longer supported. However, I'm not 100% sure of this. Someone else would have to confirm.

I've tried to find relevant information to your ban but with no success. You will have to wait for one of the global moderators to notice your thread. Just make sure that you don't post outside of this thread (else you will get permanently banned).

12531  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Advertising Bitcoin : responsibility of the community on: April 18, 2016, 06:44:16 PM
So exactly what is your plan here? You want hundreds/thousands of signature spam where members keep repeating their futile suggestions even though they have no intention of doing anything? I highly suggest that you lock this thread after you receive a small amount of suggestions as it will be adequate (if you plan to do something with this information).

I don't have anything particular in mind, but I'm aware of this problem. Companies that are successfully highly depend on marketing and even spend billions yearly in order to achieve their user bases. Bitcoin is different due to its decentralized nature. Basically, one could just be throwing away their own money and as a result either: 1) Almost nothing happens; 2) Someone else earns money (e.g. another company). If Bitcoin goes 'viral' (as they say) it would skyrocket and be very popular probably within a few weeks.

12534  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Logo on: April 18, 2016, 05:30:51 PM
They are still running the very default theme of SMF along with an out-dated version of SMF.
This is due to security reasons. A new forum has been in development for some time now.

I feel that the real problem is designing it.
It isn't really necessary. The best approach is to just keep it as some sort of Bitcoin logo.
12535  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SECURITY, Have you been a victim? How safe are your bitcoins? on: April 18, 2016, 04:34:45 PM
I often buy digital goods from one who accept zero confirmation transaction and so far there aren't any problem even when stress test or tx spam.
Maybe i'm just lucky Roll Eyes
You don't understand what a double spend is then. The seller can't double spend your transaction, you could if you've wanted to (and obviously knew how).

A device that installed with untouched/original OS installer, some people call it clean install.
That is pure nonsense. Original installers are outdated and such a 'clean OS' is vulnerable. Clean install is just a fresh OS reinstall. I recommend updating in addition to removing telemetry updates.
12536  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Logo on: April 18, 2016, 01:19:20 PM
favicon on the top browser is a logo isn't it?
A favicon is a shortcut icon, not a logo.

It would however give Bitcoin more recognition if ever the forum gets their own logo.
The exact opposite would be the case. Bitcoin would receive less recoginition if the forum used it's own 'un-related' logo.
12537  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SECURITY, Have you been a victim? How safe are your bitcoins? on: April 18, 2016, 01:17:44 PM
if i'd periodically updating my windows defender or atleast using updated antivirus software, this one will not going to be happen
Windows Defender is useless and would probably not help you. You need good AV software (e.g. Kaspersky or Bitdefender).

Bitcoin network/system is very secure and it's fixed over time, so modding timestamp or double spend is almost impossible unless someone use sybil attack or something similar.
Wrong. A double spend is very much possible if one accepts zero confirmation transactions.

Meanwhile, keep bitcoin wallet is easy as long as it's 100% offline (cold storage).
The problem does not lie in the Bitcoin wallet, but rather the OS itself.

So, i don't make effort to protect my bitcoin, just use clean OS, antivirus and never click anything suspicious.
Since when is there a thing called "clean OS"?

I have never been a victim of a hack nor any sort of scams out here. It really comes down to the user itself, I hardly doubt that people with small amount of money are going to get targeted directly. As long as you don't click on shady stuff or download it in addition to having the necessary protective software you are going to be fine. My Bitcoin should be safe as both wallets use Core, both are encrypted and the main one is offline.

-snip-
This is the best practice to store your btc online
What you described is not storing online, it is storing offline.

Sir, can I have a green chit for selling this service now?
I've told you this already. If it has nothing illegal, then you are able to sell it. This forum does not enforce ToS.
