1261  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Why do you use which wallet? Is there a feature you miss? on: November 18, 2019, 01:00:52 PM
A feature that I miss is that if my mum does a transaction that is over a certain amount, it would be a very cool if I could "co-sign" it.

It's not possible unfortunately. You would have to co-sign every transaction and you would be limited to a small amount of wallets which support multisig.

So if it was your mum you would recommend electrum?

I would go for the Green Wallet since I didn't experience any problems while using it, but it might be easier for you to explain her how to use the wallet over the phone if you choose Electrum since you have used it. Green Wallet's UI is much more appealing in my opinion.
1262  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Balance amount vs Max to spend on: November 18, 2019, 11:58:38 AM
Thank you BitCryptex so much for the reply.
so in this case i must have 0.00706BTC,cause it's th first transaction i try to do. is there anyway i can change the 2fa version?

You should be able to preview the transaction before broadcasting it. Check if any coins are sent to TrustedCoin's address. There are two ways to get rid of the 2FA. You can either create a new wallet and send your coins there (you will get a new seed which you will need to store in a secure place and you will be forced to pay a fee to TrustedCoin) or you can try to import your existing seed to Electrum. You should be able to spend your funds without the need to pay TrustedCoin if restore your wallet.
1263  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Why do you use which wallet? Is there a feature you miss? on: November 18, 2019, 11:44:21 AM
-snip

Does she have an Android or iOS phone? Samourai Wallet should be fairly easy to use if you set it up for her. It supports RBF which could come in handy in case she sent a transaction with a low fee (although it shouldn't happen). Blockstream Green Wallet should be even easier to use. It even supports hardware wallets but I don't think it's necessary in this case. Both wallets are available only on Android.

I would not recommend the mobile version of Electrum. I had a few problems with it, mostly crashes while trying to bump a transaction fee.
1264  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Balance amount vs Max to spend on: November 18, 2019, 11:29:17 AM
The fee is quite reasonable for such a transaction. However, you are using a 2fa wallet which means that you also have to pay TrustedCoin for signing the transaction. According to their FAQ, they charge 0,0005 BTC per transaction. I am quite sure it used to be 0,001 BTC, though.
1265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Trouble syncing my bitcoin core on: November 17, 2019, 05:09:14 PM
Does that mean I only actually have about 2/3 of the blockchain? So I won't see my transactions until I reach the block in the chain in which those transactions were entered?

Yes, your node hasn't been fully synced, yet. You will see your current balance once the sync finishes. There is no need to use -rescan in this case.
1266  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: RBF or CPFP transactions if I reinstall my computer and lose transaction history on: November 17, 2019, 03:54:44 PM
Third value, what do you mean? Can you clarify it, please. If you meant blockchain, it is 604214 blocks.

That's exactly what I meant. I assumed that you also didn't see your balance. Was the value of the unconfirmed transaction deducted from it?

There are so many servers to check and get transaction history. Can I check which server my yesterday wallet connected to? It will save lots of time.

You don't have to connect to the same server; select a random one. However, I don't think it's going to help since the 'blockchain' value I asked you for is correct. Reinstalling Electrum or trying the portable version are my last suggestions.
1267  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: RBF or CPFP transactions if I reinstall my computer and lose transaction history on: November 17, 2019, 03:15:13 PM
Electrum 3.3.8. It has synced with the network (green) but I have not yet seen my transaction history.

Click on the green dot and tell us what the third value ('Blockchain') is equal to. You can also try using a different server.

It can be done by the recipient of the funds, or by the sender, if the transaction has a change output.

Thanks for pointing this out. As you can see, the sender can't do it at all times while the receiver can; that's why I forgot about it.
1268  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: RBF or CPFP transactions if I reinstall my computer and lose transaction history on: November 17, 2019, 03:06:25 PM
The problem is yesterday I made a transaction at 1 satoshi/ byte, and today I would like to use Replace-by-fee (RBF) or Child-pay-for-parent (CPFP) transactions to boost yesterday transaction - that has not yet confirmed.

RBF can be used by the wallet which sent the transaction. CPFP can be used be the wallet which contains the destination address.

Can I do this with the wallet without transaction history?

Theoretically, you can prepare your transaction in a watch-only wallet and then sign it using the recovered wallet, but if you managed to recover the same wallet from which you sent the coins then your transaction history should have been synchronized anyway. What version of Electrum do you have?
1269  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Trouble syncing my bitcoin core on: November 17, 2019, 12:57:57 PM
Did you use that wallet file while the node was synchronizing with the network? If not then you need to relaunch Bitcoin Core with -rescan parameter. Don't forget to remove it once the rescan is complete. If your node is synced properly then there is nothing wrong with your config.
1270  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum/HWW Verification on: November 12, 2019, 07:00:03 PM
If you have a hardware wallet (I use a trezor with electrum), the wallet won't load up unless the trezor is plugged in so something must be done to decrypt the wallet (even if it is a public key on the device or an initial unique certificate associated to that seed maybe at an odd derivation path - using symmetric encryption).

That's actually interesting because it does not apply to my setup. When I open my wallet, the following message box is shown.

.

When I select 'No' or simply close the box, I can see the list of all transactions. Everything looks as if I were using a watch-only wallet.

Edit: I quickly found out that I can enable the encryption manually just like in a normal Electrum wallet.

1271  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum/HWW Verification on: November 12, 2019, 07:06:41 AM
by the way if you are 'Ledger Nano S' use  so thing have interface for manage 'Ledger Nano S' why you used connect electrum ?

Ledger Live lacks some features which are available if you pair your hardware wallet with Electrum. The most notable feature is coin control. Private keys are not exposed to the computer in any way.

1273  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ordered Ledger Backup Pack - Nano X + Nano S on: November 11, 2019, 11:33:31 AM
If there is any sign that I would know if devices have been used or any other thing that I would have risk? I believe it will not damaged or used since seller is Ladger official and they have good ratings but just curious about it.

If the devices were completely fake then you wouldn't be even able to use them with Ledger Live. If their software was modified, a warning would be displayed during the boot. You can also remove the chassis of the Nano S to see if there isn't any extra chip inside (reference). Most people lost their money because their devices were shipped from resellers who included a pregenerated seed. You should be safe since you ordered the pack from their official account.
1274  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Cant send coins. worried if I upgrade I'll lose my wallet. on: November 10, 2019, 11:56:12 PM
2)
if there is no password, this means anybody with that wallet file can spend my coins? no additional security.

Yes, the private keys, which are needed to spend the coins, are stored in the wallet file. They are not encrypted if there is no password set.

3)
If I install a new version and copy that in, then those to TXs should happen right? including the 0.01 fee. Which is going to cost me almost a hundred bucks?

Once you update Bitcoin Core, launch it with -zapwallettxes=1 parameter to make sure that all the transactions which are not on the blockchain are removed. Right-click on the Bitcoin Core shortcut, select Properties and add that parameter after '.exe'. It won't cause any harm if it turns out to be redundant. The mempool should be emptied after such an upgrade.
1275  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin sent while Core is syncing? on: November 05, 2019, 04:59:46 PM
Balance is not correct, I sent all of bitcoins to different wallet, but transaction is not available, it shows up in the screen, but it writes 0 confirms and not available in blockchain.com

To unstuck such a transaction, shut down bitcoin-qt and launch it with either -zapwallettxes=1 parameter or zapwallettxes=1 in the config. This will remove every transaction from your wallet which is not in the blockchain.
1276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Import a wallet to bitcoin-qt on: November 04, 2019, 06:20:53 PM
Can I import the "Canaria wallet" into my Stockholm Bitcoin installation? If so, how is it done?

Yes, copy the wallet file to the other server. If you are running a Linux server then your wallet file should be located in ~/.bitcoin/ by default. You might need to run bitcoin-qt with -rescan parameter after pasting the wallet file but it shouldn't be necessary in your case.
1277  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Cant find seed (2fa) and i have to update, help! (ELECTRUM) on: November 02, 2019, 11:06:46 AM
like using electrum without 2FA Some time I have seen google authentic app trouble them seme website showing double code generated. just hesitated what I enter code That is to say there is a one-step forward for security.

I don't think that's the case here. In Electrum, user is prompted to provide a code generated by Google Auth during the setup in case something like this happened (example).
1278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Questions regarding security on: November 02, 2019, 10:29:30 AM
If you don't want to trust a third party, just get Bitcoin Core to a computer without any internet connection, generate your keys and use it that way. You can sign a transaction on the computer and push it to blockchain on another one.
Can you share a link to a tutorial?

The whole process looks a bit complicated for Bitcoin Core. It's more common for its users to keep the wallet online in order to have all the (latest) blocks downloaded. Consider choosing Electrum instead, it will be much easier for you. No commands involved.
1279  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: The next release of Electrum will support Lightning payments on: November 02, 2019, 01:31:44 AM
@bitcyptex, he seems to think push is receivable amount (I think) it's good that you can customise it as you normally can't on the mobile wallets.

Well, he is not completely wrong. He is now able to receive coins over the Lightining Network. However, the other party can spend the coins which were pushed to them. This feature can be also useful in some other ways.

Also I think his transaction failed because he was trying to send testnet bitcoins to a lightning bitcoin node (just thought I'd make this clear if anyone was wondering).

That's not it. The website he used generates invoices for the testnet. Take a look at the following piece of code.

Code: (https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/blob/0966edc637ba927ea6767b44aa937b0ca7805dd7/electrum/lnpeer.py)
if htlc.cltv_expiry - lnutil.NBLOCK_DEADLINE_BEFORE_EXPIRY_FOR_RECEIVED_HTLCS <= local_height \
                or next_cltv_expiry <= local_height:
            reason = OnionRoutingFailureMessage(code=OnionFailureCode.EXPIRY_TOO_SOON,
                                                data=outgoing_chan_upd_len+outgoing_chan_upd)
            await self.fail_htlc(chan, htlc.htlc_id, onion_packet, reason)
            return

htlc.cltv_expiry seems to be the culprit here. If you compare the 'Time Lock Delta' for both testnet and mainnet on 1ml.com, you will see that it is equal to 40 and 144 respectively. At the time of the recording, the blocks on the testnet were mined one after another. If you take both of these factors in the account then it seems that that's the reason why it didn't work. It's a bit late here so I will investigate it further tomorrow.

Note: It seems that some mainnet notes have set their 'Time Lock Delta' to 40 or lower. The blocks on the mainnet are mined not as fast as on the testnet so it shouldn't impact the mainnet Lightning Network transaction failure rate significantly.

The time_lock_delta is the minimum difference in the number of blocks between the CLTV of an incoming HTLC and the forwarded HTLC.

I would appreciate if someone could link this post under that YouTube video.
1280  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Cant find seed (2fa) and i have to update, help! (ELECTRUM) on: November 01, 2019, 11:32:05 PM
Are you saying that Trustedcoin is the 2fa that I need?  If so, I am getting the code from my old phone.  It's just not working.

TrustedCoin is the native 2FA provider for Electrum. You must have used it at some point since their codes show up in your Google Auth app. Try contacting TrustedCoin as TryNinja suggested.
