Sorry for the delay everyone! We've been hard at work trying to prepare the new releases! We did not want to release an announcement or time frame without being certain of the implementation. At this point in time we are currently guaranteeing its functionality on the test net, an official announcement will be released tonight regarding the new wallet updates. In the mean time, please tweet bittrex regarding keeping MACD on the exchange.
new account, are u the real devteam? why don't u use the account before? We were brought on by Crypto_Wolf and due to lack of communication with him recently we decided to move forward and announce our progress on a more formal account. In due time, we will release more regarding the members of our team, at this point we care more about the current implementations & development behind the scenes. So in other words, crypto wolf abandoned the coin just like I said he would a few posts back. I hate being right all the time. Hopefully new dev team pulls off something quick because I think this coin's brain dead and on life support at this point. Hope dev has a magic wand laying around. |

Bittrex delete today MACD?
Not sure. I looked through the list of scheduled deleted wallets and MACD's not on the list, but then when you go to the MACD page, at the top it says Markets in danger of removal today. So not sure if they're planning on delisting this today or not! I sent a tweet to their twitter page asking them not to. |

Wow. I thought new dev was working on TOR and anon? I would think there wouldn't be much volume and price increase until those were implemented. Or is your latest post the first of several posts leading up to this coin being abandoned? That would really suck if so. |

i don't want scammers to get paid but setting reset should cost mint pal some sort of penalty. I think they should have to donate some money or something. Otherwise, i think the whole crypto community will be left with a bad taste. Ok we took all the money back from the scammers but we gave half to sick kids in africa or something.. Otherwise I'm cutting mint pal off my list of useable sites

Lots of great points expressed thus far.
I personally congratulate Vericoin devs for making an educated decision in a timely fashion.
We've seen time and time again devs disappear when trouble arises for their coin. Not the case with Vericoin devs.
Vericoin devs stepped up and successfully implemented their solution. Whether you agree or not you understand this as a lesson to help prevent this from occurring in the future.

Ya I applaud Vericoin devs as well for being so quick with this. Just goes to show how capable and amazing they really are. |

Um ya... I'm with Dadams. I'm glad that they're going to rollback so that people don't lose their coins, however now you've just set the precedence that you can keep your coins on an exchange, with no protection or insurance, and if the exchange gets hacked and you lose your coins, eh... no big deal. We'll just rollback. Now you have a central regulating authority deciding that, which by the way goes against the principles and ideology of what crypto currency is in the first place. Make Mintpal accountable for this attack. It was their system that wasn't secure in the first place. Hard fork the coin, and make Mintpal be the example for all exchanges that if they're going to be in business, they need to tighten up their security, plain and simple. Mintpal somehow then has to reimburse all coin holders who lost their coins. Yes it would probably bankrupt them, and they probably wouldn't survive. I don't think I'm being callous. If people want a system of protection, then put your money in a bank. A bank's insured, in the states, by the U.S. Treasury via the FDIC. Or, keep your coins in your wallet, leave them there for staking, and backup your wallet with multiple backups to different locations. I'm sorry, but you assume the risk if you keep your coins on exchanges.

I still show my full VRC balance in MintPal. Does this mean my coins by chance were not part of what was stolen? Has anyone seen the balance actually affected or do they just not update.
My VRC balance looks unaffected, but the grand total (in estimated BTCs) doesn't make sense, is like if all the other coins counted but not the VRCs, can anyone check? Eth. Mintpal: VRC 786.xxxxx Est. Total BTC 0.00000000 I've moved all my other cryptos to other exchanges - better to do smth than just wait. Wrong = put your coin in your wallet . Transfer to an exchange just when you need to sell . Isn't it a good lesson to learn today ? Do you think cryptsy is safe , or bittrex or any other exchange ? STAKE YOUR COIN in cold storage and transfer to an exchange only when needed . I think this TIME : PUMP AND DUMP IS OVER = PEOPLE WILL NOT STORE THEIR COINS IN EXCHANGES . Wow that would be GREAT if pump and dump were over!!! Doubt that's the case though. |

Come here to see if fundamentals brought it down, seems all hell is breaking loose.  Yes, today we learned that centralized services, centralized ownership (1/3 being hot in Mintpal alone says everything) and centralized authority (rollback to save $2m worth of VRC that were most likely owned by VRC whales) just doesn't work in crypto. Decentralized is what makes crypto secure and VRC has absolutely none of that in any way shape or form. Well, no coin will be fully decentralized correct? As long as people have their coins on an exchange and not staking in their wallet? |
