1262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: July 23, 2017, 12:42:40 PM
This is exactly why Monero will be banned in every single country. Banksters and governments will never allow us such freedom.
As great as monero technically is, it's doomed to fail because of our social and political environment.

That's what everybody said about BTC few years ago, now it is accepted as an official currency in JP  Grin

Governements and politics also need anonymity, for what ever reason, for their being, so there is a lot of potential here  Roll Eyes

As seen from the Cazes case, below <10% of BTC's got used on trading weed, which seems to be lesser lethal than state controlled/owned ethanol trade just from number of death casualities. But conservatism got that habbit of continueing on their wrongdoings.

Govermentals and notorious politicians usually prefere printed cash, so there's no need to migrate over onto electronically surveillanced alternatives.
1263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: July 22, 2017, 08:46:55 PM
Adding on to the "and an unknown amount of Monero" discussion:

Quote
Federal agents obtained the warrants after tracing a number of Bitcoin transactions originating with AlphaBay to digital currency accounts, and ultimately bank accounts and other tangible assets, held by CAZES and his wife.

Forfeiture Complaint, p. 17 (https://assets.documentcloud.org/documents/3898109/AlphaBay-Cazes-Forfeiture-Complaint.pdf)

So there we have it. Blockchain analysis was a part of the AB takedown. It makes absolutely no sense to use anything but Monero if you want a private transaction. Every other coin is either on a public ledger and can be traced, or it has serious security concerns.  Comparison of Privacy-Centric Cryptocurrencies

Cazes reused program code from his officially owned company and the Alphabay webpage. Programers kinda feature a fingerprint regarding their styles.
Ross got caught the same way, by asking questions about programing difficulties on stackoverflow.com using his real email address.

If Blockchain analysis catches them all then tell me why are other markets still up?
1264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: July 22, 2017, 09:55:44 AM
It's been a pretty even Road for XMR. There's not much that you're going to be able to do or speculate on it this point. I looks like this coin is  old and trusted. Somebody just pumped it for some reason. They like to do that for profit they like to do that for activity on their chain and then like to do that create movement on their particular coin so let's just see what comes next.

Then killed himself inside his prison cell, leaving behind a wife without money (sized!) and a young child, and about three now ownerless high end cars.
1265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: July 22, 2017, 09:45:05 AM

One of these things is not like the others..

839,000.0 BTC during one and a half year, of some 16 millions total supply. For the biggest market. Let us assume topmost 2nd and 3rd sum up onto a similar amount together.
Below 10% of Bitcoin supply get used for drug trafficing, mostly harmless stuff like weed that more and more gets legalized anyway (as soon as the last 1968er has died, probably).

Monero partially targets that market segment. Did you guessed it's so tiny?
1266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: July 20, 2017, 11:56:12 PM
It is not ready for mass adoption yet. We understand that this is a currency not a speculation tool and therefore know that when rolled out to the masses the system needs to be polished enough for the average user. that is just good business. Staying above the P&D scam coins is essential for the coins credibility when it finally can be rolled out. There are no credible accusations against XMR, the closest thing to that is fluffy's poor choice of a troll which doesn't amount to a hill of beans in the end. Compare that to the other top 10 coins and you will see why this is important for the future adoption as a actual functional currency. Most alts are nothing more than speculation bubbles, XMR is different and the price does reflect that, just look at the increase when the DM's adopted XMR and the fact since AB disappeared the value has been tapering off. As soon as the adoption rate increases again for use cases and not bag holding them we will see a nice steady increase again. I'm not sure about seeing another spike though. Did that answer your question?

So Plan B has been implementing Multisig to get on Hansa?
1267  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: Der Aktuelle Kursverlauf blockgrösse on: July 20, 2017, 10:34:56 PM

...

EDIT: BTC price edging upward ($2360 or so) would hint that you are right in your confidence.

Huh? What do you mean "hint that I right"Huh

I m always right when talking about BTC. I do not give advice often but when I do, I m right. Smiley
I told people 3 years ago to buy DMD Diamond when it was 18 cents. Look at it now.

Exactly. Price as justification is poor rationale.
But hey, it's $2468 now and on a sharp rise Cheesy
1269  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Absolutely the Best explanation what will happen with SegWit2x and when! on: July 20, 2017, 11:33:21 AM

...

Nah, they ll all fall in under SegWit2x.

Definitely. Back on 1/2 of this 336-block signaling period there has been like 75% signaling which caused panic due to no shortage of FUD around the forum otherwise. But I'm more inclined to listen on -ck than any newbie fuddaccount.
Just in between 3~4 dozen blocks signaling took up over 80.4% and on this travel speed, on same velocity will clearly take up another +5% and another +5% following. It's allready clear by now that BIP 91 succeeded.
Some rage dumps should be seen as a nice buying opprtunity.
1270  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Barry Silbert segwit2x agreement with >80% miner support. on: July 19, 2017, 08:57:27 AM
... and for the love of all that is Bitcoin, take all of your BTC out of anywhere where you don't control the keys.....
Definitely do this too. Right now everyone should be pulling everything out of the exchanges they've been treating as banks.

It boggles the mind why people keep on doing this.

Calling for a BANKRUN?

Somehow, Bitcoin needs to make it onto the newspapers
1271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: July 17, 2017, 09:56:27 AM

when will the carnage end  Huh

Within 1 year the bottom should be reached. Use the road map from previous waves as a template.

Honestly, you think this is already the beginning of a new long downtrend?

I don't, myself.  Not yet anyway.

There's been just too much positive upward momentum lately for it to "all just evaporate" right now, for no really good reason (just IMHO of course).

See my post above that all this blood now is really ONLY bitcoin alone, going down in dollar terms?  That, to me, says it's just market uncertainty fear worry panic etc about the upcoming BITCOIN (only!) fork/changes we're gonna be seeing in August/September.

AS SOON as we "know" what that fork/change is gonna ACTUALLY BE, FINALLY (after three years plus of uncertainty) then Mr. Market is gonna FINALLY have Less Uncertainty (finally, thank god!) and if so, then hopefully we're off to re-ignite the engines to new ATHs again.

Or, yeah, no.  Maybe not.  Who the fuck knows, LOL.  Honey Badger gonna do whatever he wants.

Personally I'm just gonna HODL as always and watch the show Cheesy

It's just a lot more entertaining this time, having a dollar cost average buy-in price so much lower than LAST time around, heheh.

The funny part will be in mid august when nothing serious happened. The trick about surviving is all about staying alive. And Bitcoin has absolutely no intention to kill itself.
Watch it like theater performance, and relax.

Smiley

1273  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: Der Aktuelle Kursverlauf blockgrösse on: July 15, 2017, 02:06:16 PM

The site was hosting $600,000 to $800,000 in transactions daily earlier this year, according to unpublished statistics from Nicolas Christin, an associate research professor at Carnegie Mellon University who has written many papers about the scale of such sites. Those figures would make AlphaBay about twice as large as the Silk Road when it was shut down in October 2013.

Okay - genau.

1274  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: Der Aktuelle Kursverlauf blockgrösse on: July 15, 2017, 05:08:11 AM
SegWit2x (intention) Last 144 blocks (today) under 80%.

1275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: July 10, 2017, 09:15:26 PM
Unfortunatelly bitcoin and market sentiment doesn't help IOTA Sad

I wonder if buy now or wait because I think bitcoin could drop much lower than 2000usd  and it gives much less IOTA USD price..

We are still inside the wake of the AB aftermath. Sales dwindling. For a way to long time I've only spotted the crypto currency innovation not the "usual use cases" luring behind, since I dispise 'em.
On the long run parallel "blockchains" beat sequencial ones. People stating otherwise but running a Quadcore themselfes are mediocre at best.
1276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: July 09, 2017, 09:30:32 PM
About IOTA environment.

Is it possible to know the "birth" date of an address?
Only the first time it got a deposit is visible on the ... huh, tangle explorer. A blockchain explorer of sorts, just without a blockchain.
A "creation date" isn't coded into the address itself.
1277  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: Der Aktuelle Kursverlauf on: July 07, 2017, 06:37:42 PM

1278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: July 07, 2017, 12:55:20 PM
Why iota's dump?  Angry

It can be traded on margin already? I dint notice.

best option. "insane profit for early adopters"
1279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: July 07, 2017, 08:21:35 AM
The best shady market is a government.

If you're in Russia or Ukraine or other former USSSR clones I full agree...oh yeah and 99% of the middle east and Asia

You forgot Eastern Europe, the Balkans (not necessary USSR clones) and Africa.
Poor countries are usually this poor because of the shady governments.

Shit yes...I also forgot about australia the UK and the US

UK is not so bad , really

But you would not dare to defend Trump's own country in our modern times, I recognized.
Speaking of shady and Russia, anybody got info about AlphaBay's recovery progress (if any) ?
