961  Economy / Exchanges / Re: CEX.IO failed to withdraw with my VISA card on: December 21, 2017, 02:40:58 AM
Are you Basic or Verified (Plus) since you would only be stuck upon VISA if completely unverified. However, transaction size limits are just $20 for VISA, the other options are occationally hefty on their lower limit.

I can sense trouble regarding a british limited company having to rely on europe located banking partner if that ugly divorce completes. Maybe Cex should move back onto mainlands.

Funny thought: Let's hope you ain't Kraken
963  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Looking for software to organize a cryptocurrency exchange on: December 11, 2017, 08:26:55 AM
Take a look at NickelBot. It does not offer all of what you are describing, but it is possible to upgrade this platform to handle all of what you describe.
That looks to be the client side software, aren't they looking for some open-source assets exchange?
Like https://github.com/peatio/peatio

There are four exchange sites running on Peatio. Well 3 when I see Yunbi listed on top. They are the origins, but closed down shop.
I'm all ears on your endeavor, if there is interest in getting such an instance up & running. Would be challenged by that task but highly motivated
964  Economy / Speculation / Re: ⛔️⛔️⛔️ Is It Time To Cash Out The Profits? ⛔️⛔️⛔️ on: December 10, 2017, 04:26:52 AM
Is everyone selling their BTC?

It seems the price is dropping rapidly today leading up to futures
Saturday, bloody saturday. But wasn't futures to arrive at 12/18/17 no earlier?
And to be honest there had been margin trades on offer all the preceeding years.
So what exactly changes by now?

966  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Are Your Greatest Fears As a Bitcoin Holder? on: November 30, 2017, 04:15:10 AM
For me, the biggest fear in holding bitcoin is if my bitcoin is hacked. Now hackers have sprung up and taken action in every way, not a difficult thing for hackers to take our bitcoin account.
All you can do on a practical level is separating credentials to access funds onto several devices. 2FA, these second factor authorisations.
And spread funds across several places.

The theoretical level is cold storage. Nobody can hack a cold store. A legit, real one on several papers.
It's theory since in practice this is a currency, and we are traders.
967  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Preferred Bitcoin Exchanges on: November 29, 2017, 03:23:04 PM
If you buy enough bitcoin, I think you can buy bitcoins off the counter, OTC deals.
But what you need to know is that money from OTC transactions can be black money.
You are fully aware if he asked about buying bitcoins he might not care about the color of money?!
And the suggestions pointing at Bittrex or Kraken should perhaps read the Exchanges board at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=223.0 looking for Bittrex and Kraken complaints.
968  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: warning - bitcoin futures. Get coins off exchanges ! on: November 29, 2017, 06:08:33 AM
Whales has been manipulate the price since many years ago, on stock exchange, forex, etc. and now bitcoin, but the bitcoin price still run and go high. Even though they sell their bitcoin there is so many people out there wants to buy, so why we scared of this whales?
The one thing that make me scare is: they (whales) buy bitcoin in big amount and never sell them Roll Eyes

Not precisely a Whale, but coming close to the described effects:
Trendon Shavers (Pirateat40) basically did the same approach, at some late point in time he had to buy back 500.000 BTC from market after prolonged price suppression by dumping customer's deposits.
Timepoint has been close to his arrest. Later convicted for running a ponzi scheme.
Nobody on our modern times can reach any compareable impact on these markets. Individuals became to small in comparion to daily cashflows.
969  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Getting into bitcoin with only $25 on: November 29, 2017, 04:59:21 AM
I scraped together the little money I have and dove into bitcoin. My ambition is to make money trading altcoins and keep a bitcoin reserve. Can I even make it anywhere starting with such a small amount of money?
Not anywhere, more over there: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=224.0 you posted inside the wrong board.
The amount mentioned is too small, of course, for everything. Maybe he can stuff those pences into electricity, mining some altcoin?
970  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How could Chinese people trade cryptocurrency after it is banned by Gov? on: November 29, 2017, 04:46:42 AM
Definitely by using a OTC, It will become a trend. OTC can also be used in other counties as well
There was some competitor to localbitcoins where people offered Alipay which to my knowledge would come close to Ebay's PayPal service.
I'm not a Chinese resident, so have to pickup informations from seeping the forums. Guess what, in the center of europe (germany) they banned localbitcoins. To no avail I must add, since it's a small world where people are free to travel nearby borders.
But I was shocked when I realize they tried even to block p2p trade between local peoples. FIAT 2 BTC
Makes one recalculate the liberty standards of such some country. So many people are repeating those grand illusions of their own freedom where in reality a pondering silence would be true.

So it sound like you currently live in China and mostly have only RMB to invest?

Eventually, regulations will settle down with most likely one or two regulated exchanges popping up in China.

If you can't wait and want to do something now, you problem isn't finding the right exchange it is accumulating USD.
The best way to start converting RMB to USD (and then on to BTC) is to open up an offshore multicurrency bank account.
A lot of my Chinese friends go to Hong Kong to do this.
It enables them to freely exchange currencies within their own account.

Another way is to just get a credit card and vpn.
There are a lot of exchanges where you can buy small amounts with a credit card without verification.
Sometimes it is tiny (coinbase is $50 a week without verification) but at least you can get some.

If your vpn doesn't work, try astril or nord, friends tell me these work fine in china.

If I would require a firewall or VPN expert, I would definitely go for a native chinese. They are kinda experienced in stuff like that Cheesy
The RMB to Korean Won exchange seems to be easier, and from there neiter USD, nor BTC are far away.
Especially for more obscure Altcoin trades a VPN ending into Binance exchange seems to be a quick and versatile solution. VPN & Binance are the answer for his questions.
971  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO is the best way to invest? on: November 28, 2017, 07:31:00 PM
ICO is one of the best ways to invest in. Playkey project is an example. It is a good coin to invest now. Let check the website to know
On what timescale do you exspect delivery? I know this question is tainted...

Just wanted to brag about "best ways to invest" since there are timescales. And everybody would agree upon rushing into a pump at any time delivers, if timed quick. Or not?
Any ICO sets you back for twelve monthes at least. No earlier results to be exspected.

Personal "best" experiences require one answer beforehand: Now, tomorrow, next year?
Buffett hinted at patience, he's right, but he's definitely not so much into crypto. The timescale is waaay shorter.
972  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: warning - bitcoin futures. Get coins off exchanges ! on: November 28, 2017, 10:55:25 AM
http://www.cmegroup.com/trading/equity-index/us-index/bitcoin_contract_specifications.html

If they have got as far as publishing the contract specifications I would say their intent is real and they think they will get the necessary regulatory approval very soon.
Growing weary upon that, seen the same chart disturbances 3/10/2017 when these ETF decisions had been luring. It's same old play again. Just waiting.
The CME CF Bitcoin Reference Rate could pave some way leading to any ETF
973  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: warning - bitcoin futures. Get coins off exchanges ! on: November 28, 2017, 09:47:07 AM
The danger is a whale can buy short futures. Then he sells all his bitcoin. The price crashes as other sellers exit, he covers his shorts and buy back all his btc. This is how markets are manipulated with futures. And it's about to happen with btc. Bitcoin has been free of wall street manipulation until now.

You have been warned!

Bitcoin has been free of wall street, too. On my knowledge that CME Group Inc. futures contracts introduction was a hoax
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-cme-bitcoin/cme-says-bitcoin-futures-coming-this-year-but-date-not-set-idUSKBN1DL1QP
it's still somewhat far away.

The effect you described will likely happen during this "transition phase". You can totally prepare for that, riding these swings.
Maybe two or three times before things settle, since high volume market makers tend to "flatten" the charts.
974  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Lisk or Waves? on: November 28, 2017, 09:31:19 AM
I choose Waves, in my opinion this coin have bigger potencial to give us good profit. Waves are more popular no without reason
Yet Lisk is now inside top 15 in market cap which means it is more valuable. I will also pick Waves because its room for growth is higher. Waves price hasn't recovered yet since it started to fall mid this year. Let's say Waves will break ath next year then it's already around 400%.
Lisk > Waves, which is not unusual since Waves gets traded mostly on Tidex and YoBit, denominated against BTC.
LSK features solid volume on Bittrex and a lot of more USD/EUR/PLN markets.

This 70:30 suggestion from RippleSider I favor that. Smaller coin only 30% since higher risk of picking a "dud" but possible higher returns so not even a huuge investment seems required. On a huuge project you can invest big money and make enough for a living from small gains on a higher volume. Stuffing $7000 now into BTC, getting +10% until Christmas, that line of thought.

There is a strange pattern regarding Bitcoin Indonesia https://www.bitcoin.co.id and Waves trade over there. The Lisk people toured half of asia recent weeks but did not reached markets any further away from Berlin as BitBay (LSK/PLN). So far Zero Results from a lot of expensive advertising.
And a rebrand now will render Max's asia voyage futile, since he advertised the brand "Lisk" and not "whatever now rebranded!"
975  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what is the right time to cash out? on: November 28, 2017, 03:16:30 AM
I was so nervous that when bitcoin price dropped to 6000$ I was scared to loose more and withdrew my coins only to regret later that it became 8000$.
Please help me with your advice /opinion.

Whenever you need it you can always cash out. But the most right time for me of course is when the value rises because you dont want to cut off your loss not unless you really needed that money that particular time ao ypu really need to cashed it out even if the value is going to fall. Just do not panic whenever the price go down because qe all know bitcpina they always goes up so we just need to qait a few weeks before we cash out.

The own needs overshadow, and of course no regrets ever about trading decisions. "Stick to the plan!"
Cut loss orders by the way are best bussiness practices in trading.
Time continues, life ends some day. What's so glorious about holding bitcoins for the Ferryman? Wake up!

976  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum All Time High on: November 27, 2017, 02:39:05 PM
All technical analyst here are probably satisfied now Grin The triangle breakout on Ethereum was a textbook example. If the "textbook movement" continues, we will see bull trend with a correction to approx. $380.
Could very likely follow the textbook. Only serious competition inside the smart contracts market niche could steal Vitalik's crown by now.
LSK Lisk seems slacking on their SDK release, RSK Rootstock still in it's infancies.

Care to post a TA picture / link to some analysis?
977  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Payed for bitcoin but haven't received them - Litebit on: November 27, 2017, 02:30:59 PM
... and it costs me a £10 fee with my bank to send a small amount of euros.
Ouch! Their setup usually costs 0.01 for EU customers inside SEPA zone.
And those fees you would be charged (by your local bank!) aren't exactly their fault so try to keep calm and talkactive.
I would just eat those £10 and get over that hurdle.

Hey, did you ringed up their support chatbox, right bottom side of the screen? It signals if somebody from support is present. Try to fetch some of them, arranging a phone call or similar. Should be doable near GMT zimezone.
Your reasoning should be: "I am the owner of my bank account and willingly transfered the funds to you, you can see on the Subject: line from account statement. That's no different from that 0.01 transfer required to verify this IBAN inside the SEPA zone."

Another issue would be transfer limits for a new account, they are as low as 300 bucks. You wouldn't be able to FOMO lots, anyway.
978  Economy / Economics / Re: Does this mean Cash will be extinct? on: November 27, 2017, 06:59:57 AM
You are right bitcoin can be digital currency but cash will still be there because cash plays an important role in physical conditions like shopping etc, cash have its own place in life while bitcoin and digital currency have its own, that’s not possible that cash will be extinct after the popularity if bitcoin.
The underlined part. On the streets, cash rules. Especially in european culture, I've seen reports from China where cellphones take over as a personal purse, but I doubt that's true for the whole country. Like telling you the United States are like New York, everywhere.
And the culture on which currencies have been built upon matters. It's no coincidence that Bit-Coin features "Coin" inside it's name.
979  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bittrex announces minimum trade size raise and other info on: November 27, 2017, 06:50:35 AM
Exactly, they've become such a shithole right now that i was a previous fan of theirs compared to poloniex and even i would not dare to use them with anything over 0.1 BTC. Just way too much to risk, i'd actually use poloniex right now.

They are very very unclear about the account limits and why some people get downgraded from previously verified accounts and get asked to verify again.
At "Polo" you can run into the withdrawal limits, who are recalculated in realtime. So if you withdraw like 90% of your limit (any altcoin) and suddendly that coin jumps +30% you are crossing your 24 hourly limit.
I did not done that, but had been experiencing a bad day where that limits bar bumped really near to my limit.
And you know how it goes if you need to contact their nonexistant support.
People have grown old about that.
980  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bittrex announces minimum trade size raise and other info on: November 27, 2017, 05:41:55 AM
Why are they discouraging any market manipulation? How they will know and how do they trace trader who are involve in these such activities?
This policy will give them two results, as like mention above, they will really lost small traders which will lead on switching on other exchange sites, so they can focus on big traders.
I'm a fan of this exchange because of their support and I didn't get any trouble with regards to verification. But I usually sell my coins only when it reaches my target point.

Why? Because it's shady. How? By naked eyesight, it's actually quite easy to spot a Quatloo tradebot beeing active at Bittrex. "Creating minimum tick sizes" directly targets that practise.
You have seen these orders piling up just 1 Satoshi above your last manually placed order? Next bot placing another +1 Satoshi on top of that?

However "suspend and close any accounts" sounds like suicide, I am assuming they are not doing this decision without any applied pressure from the legals. Between Poloniex, Kraken and Bittrex they could have taken the pole position with ease.
