So we need to buy BTCD to join this ICO?
You can invest with both BTC and BTCD. Right now you are better off investing with BTCD as the price is below 0.00425 (the first day BTC price with bonus applied). Likewise BTCD also comes with other benefits like an average bonus boost and more. The OP says the BTCD swap will be dealt with after the ICO, but gives no details. How will the process work? Will the BTCD swappers get their new coins at exactly the same time the bitcoin investors get theirs? From what I gather If I invest with BTCD, I have to do so after the ICO date correct? You will miss out on the 25% bonus.
So I've been planning on just investing BTC on the first day to get a better exchange for my money.
Am I wrong/mislead?

This steemist post has a lot of answers regarding BTCD & the Komodo ICO. After that post we also came up with the BTCD bonus to counter the dilution against the BTC bonus system. That is explained in the second comment of this thread. You can buy BTCD at any time from the open markets, but the actual BTCD <-> KMD swap will happen after ICO. After we go live everyone will have an equal chance to get their KMD coins, whatever they invested with BTCD or BTC. |

This means there still only 200 seats filled and there are 50 seats left, right? If I may suggest, give those participants that's rejected for not having the correct code oe week (i believe one week is very sufficient to get notified and give an action) and if there still no response on changing their signature, they shall be considered leaving the campaign and should then be removed from the spreadsheet so other people will know they still have a chance. The reasons for rejection were basically insufficient rank (i.e. newbie account), or not following the rules (wearing the signature). Of course people can rejoin the campaign. Yes, there is about 50 places left as the max is 250. Do someone has an idea of how many I'll need to wait if I'm officially accepted or not ?
You are accepted when you sign up. The only reason someone would get rejected later is if they did not follow the rules. The rules are very simple: wear the signature, don't spam, and make min. 25 posts during the whole campaign. The swap will happen after the ICO. We haven't published any detailed info about it yet. However, if you have BTCD we strongly recommend you to send them to a local wallet, where you have full control over your keys. As a BTCD holder you are entitled to a revenue share asset also. To get that you need to have the privatekey. We will provide publish a guide about this little later. |

Time for a simpleton question; what advantages does this have over Zcash (I know its using Zcash)? How does this benefit the user?
Privacy wise they are the same. However with Komodo we also have the dPoW functionality and it will possibly integrate to the other SuperNET services. For example Iguana technology needs BTCD, but in the future it will be Komodo. Thus SuperNET will create some demand for the currency. SuperNET needs a good privacy technology. In any case, we don't see ourselves competing with Zcash. We are both open source projects, and every project should have a way to increase its privacy. Let's hope there are many more use cases for Zcash technology! Here's what jl777 sad about this earlier: I want to address the issue of "competition with zcash"
There is none.
open source projects are open source in the hopes that other projects utilize it, build on it, maybe even grant back improvements. That is exactly what komodo is doing. Utilizing zcash, building on it and we will of course gladly give back any and all improvements zcash team deems worthy. They are not going to be doing GUI for a while, so maybe we can contribute a dual ZEC/KMD GUI. And if they want to, they can even just strip out the KMD part of the GUI, but they dont strike me as that type.
I have also extended an offer for the 5% staking revenues from the zkp protected funds as there is no way to calculate anything but the aggregate amount in protected form. So this interest can either just extend the coin emission, or it can be donated to the zcash team. So far no interest in this from them. Probably since they are well funded and will be making a ton of money with the ZEC, which I expect to be a game changer in crypto.
The history of zcash starts with zerocoin that Dr. Matt Green wanted to have bitcoin adopt. Well, that didnt get very far... So there is now a zcash company that is creating a bitcoin compatible + zcash combo. Are they doing it with a profit motive? It doesnt look like it to me, they want the zkp tech to be disseminated far and wide. And they are only making money if ZEC becomes worth a lot. Money is nice and pays the bills, but that does not appear to be the primary motivation.
Being adopted by major projects is exactly what creates the big value to the original fork. And being adopted by major projects disseminates the zkp tech far and wide. After komodo's example, my guess is that there will be many other zcash forks so komodo will just be the first of many.

One question, since your campaign will last for 2 months, if i become full member in last week, and i am member for 7 weeks. Will I be paid with full member rate for all time(8 weeks), or 7 weeeks of member rate plus 1 week full member rate?
I believe it is the later that's applied, once you got new rank, you will just need to submit the form above you and from the point you submitted that form to the end of the period, you'll get the rate for the said position. That is correct. You would get paid 7 weeks of member rate and 1 week of full member rate |

Like PondSea said, the information in the GUI is just some random characters. No real BTC transaction took place.
So, in real there will be ordinary BTC addresses?  Iguana is not Komodo. Iguana is a multiwallet where you can store and send multible different cryptocurrencies, like BTC and KMD. If you send BTC from your Iguana client it will be send out just like it would from any other bitcoin wallet! Likewise with all the other supported cryptocurrencies. What is BTCD ?
BTCD is BitcoinDark. Komodo is a product of the BitcoinDark team, essentially with the same vision, thus it really is a BTCD 2.0. The difference between them is that Komodo will use the best privacy technology (Zcash) and it will also have the dPoW. The old vision to achieve privacy for BTCD was a good one, but Zcash proved to be even better. The BTCD can be swapped for Komodo coin after the ICO has ended. |

We haven't made any deals. The exchanges will list a liquid coin because it's in their best interests. We cannot promise any date for the exchange to list us. Why Komodo logo is mostly green but gui is orange?  What are that strange BTC addresses in gui or are they Komodo addresses for BTC? Any news about superBTCD? It is Iguana's GUI. Komodo doesn't 'support' iguana, but rather just uses its technology. Likewise at least InstantDEX will use Iguana. Because Iguana contain a lot of basic/low level technology we expect many future projects to use it too. That's really the idea behind SuperNET: solve complex problems so other project's don't have to start from scratch. In this case dPoW development doesn't have to start from scratch. |
