12701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I can smell the fear on: August 03, 2015, 11:58:44 AM
Lol if you think banks are really "afraid" of Bitcoin. Do you know how easily they could spam the network for months on end? It costs them nothing.

the simply thing that they are interested in the blockchain technology without wanting bitcoin, mean that they are a little afraid about it, and they want to take the advantage of the benefit that this tech can provide, in the case bitcoin will be a good contender for them
12702  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All the bubbles were fake? on: August 03, 2015, 11:55:13 AM
i believe that every bubble that return the the main it's a fake bubble, heavy manipulated to suck noobs and nothing else, a real bubble should not explode at 100%, only a small downside should have happened at worst

but the final price should be much higher from what it has started, so the 1200 was definitely among those fake bubble
12703  Economy / Economics / Re: What will be our new world currency? on: August 03, 2015, 11:52:00 AM
I believe that Bitcoin stands a chance to become the new world currency. The US Dollar continues to depreciate in value and the American economy is in turmoil. Considering that the blockchain was created to help solve this economic crisis, if and when the dollar completely collapses, those who have any of their assets in Bitcoin will be in better financial shape than those who dismissed it as a sham.

not to mention that us dollar cannot be a a true global currency like bitcoin, because it isn't accepted everywhere, and you need t pay a high fee to exchange to the current fiat in those countries that do not accept it

bitcoin on the other hand can be accepted by everyone and it is the only currency that can be used as a global currency, no fiat can compare to this
12704  Economy / Economics / Re: How to save money. on: August 03, 2015, 11:47:12 AM
In fact, saving a bit is not at all difficult, but we indulge ourselves too much.

I mean, it should be easy to go to the cinema 2 times a month instead of 4 or more. It should be easy to stick with our smartphone/computer/tablet 6 more months instead of buying the latest one. It should be easy to eat less or less expensive food, or save in gas by walking more.

But we use to say "yes" to our flesh too much.

actually you can go to see cinema 4 times but go to the less costly one instead, i don't like that we should forbid us of our pleasures to save money, money are useless if you can not use them to have fun in  this world

so keeps doing what you like but choose the inexpensive way to do it, that's all
12705  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook group to estimate number of Bitcoin users on: August 03, 2015, 11:40:10 AM
are they trying to count how many BTC users or who are the BTC users?
"how many" is fine but "who is" that's a red flag to me if am to be asked

Well if everyone joins a Facebook group then everyone will be identifiable.

Uhhh so what? You scared? Something dirty going on??? Cheesy

Nobody will know the addresses you use anyway when you pay or receive money.
And I don't think everybody will join, an estimate will still be necessary, but I think that if the thing will run, it will get us to a much clearer number than with other methods.

Criminals will probably not join, and that's good Cheesy

So as dotthebeat said, btc users love their anonymity. How are you going to get accurate numbers if half the community will not participate?

the problem would be if one users will partecipate with multiple account, any way to determinate bitcoin via online is not actually feasible, you need their ID if you want to do have a real number
12706  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which celebrity do you think will be the best advocator for Bitcoin? on: August 03, 2015, 11:21:29 AM
i also think arnold would be a good candidate, but for teens it's better to look at some young group or band that do music that are for their target and that can promove bitcoin, there isn't something better to encourage teens to embrace bitcoin

Why? Nobody can ever understand anything he says. I think ones like Nas and the Winklevi are great because they understand bitcoin for what it can achieve and have personally invested in it.

what do you mean? he can talk english very well, arny is very well accepted and liked by many and with his new terminator movie, there more recognition around it for now

also he was a governator so he should know a bit about economic system and how bitcoin work, the bases at least
12707  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your biggest problem with Bitcoin on: August 03, 2015, 11:19:27 AM
buying bitcoins take a lot of time and when i have bitcoins the opportunity is not there anymore

you can simply leave some money o exchange if you want to buy bitcoin as a good rate, and be prepared very well for it, i do not find a problem with this at all, you're also more protected with fiat than bitcoin in case the exchange will be robbed or soemthing
12708  Economy / Speculation / Re: Athens stock market set to open Monday. on: August 03, 2015, 11:13:24 AM
gold , i doubt so seems to be crashing, they would wait a bit more before entering there, bitcoin would be a better choice for their money, because i can't see many other alternatives for now

how silver market is acting at present? it might be a good option for them?
12709  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: August 03, 2015, 11:08:56 AM
If you save your money then it's amount will remain the same.
But in case of investing it, you can increase the money, may be many folds.
Higher the risk and higher the return.

no it won't remain the same you will actually lose money if you save and nothing else, because the inflationary nature of fiat(i'm assuming that you will leave your wealth in fiat form) will be agianst the purchase power of your money, in the end you will buy less thing

this is also happen very fast in 3-5 years, because if i'm not mistaken the average inflation is around 8% per year for fiat currency
12710  Economy / Economics / Re: What do you think about what Satoshi said ? on: August 03, 2015, 11:07:12 AM
that with other 4 halving we will have the verdict about the future of bitcoin, because mining supply would not affect anymore the price since the reward will be very tiny

he said that quote in 2010 btw, so he was aiming at 2030 which is two years after the 5° halving
12711  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you quit your day job to go full time on bitcoin? on: August 03, 2015, 11:03:05 AM
Yes,but problem is how to make bitcoin, without a job?
a lot of ways to earn bitcoin, you choose the appropriate that you want or that you control, you can mine, trade bitcoin or altcoin, faucet, and maybe you can join camp sign, still many others you just choose

Those aren't jobs and will not pay the bills, unless you are like 15 you aren't getting any money doing any of that.
The reality is finding a real job for Bitcoin is still a pipedream. Few people are doing real, good paid jobs for Bitcoin because simply few businessmen will know what Bitcoin is and pay you with it.

signature is the best job that you can get nowadays with bitcoin, if you can post a lot, you have already a wage that is equiparable to a part-time which is enough for plenty of poeple that do not own a family

mining can also be profitable if you have cheap electricity
12712  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin vs Litecoin : I sold LTC for BTC . May I wrong ? on: August 03, 2015, 11:01:37 AM
Of my crypto investments most are in bitcoin and I'm confident that the value will grow over time, but I do have a small stash of litecoin.  My reason for keeping it is that the litecoin core developers seem to work well together, whereas there's been some infighting with bitcoin's core team.  The discord makes me just nervous enough to want a backup plan in case they cut off their nose to spite their face.

In terms of utility LTC is nowhere. That means there are no outside elements putting pressure on developers. It's just miners, traders and holders all holding hands and skipping along, and while things stay the way they are there's really no need for any more development which is what Mr Lee has said outright.

Bitcoin in comparison is heaving with conflicts of interest, turf wars, overbearing outside investment and multiple future possibilities and use scenarios. That's what introduction to the real world brings and LTC would be an identical position if it were there too.

The reason behind the acceptance of bitcoin over other crypto and its success is that it was the first crypto to happen, I realized that I did read about it in newspaper but never really studied much about it, only to be very involved with btc after 2-3 years. The reason why BTC will always be superior to other crypto is not only its technical benefits but the already wide belief and acceptance.

it's not only because of that i mean bitcoin isn't the first choice only because it was the first, but simply because the other are pure clone they do not offer anything that cannot be implemented in bitcoin, this is the real reason

there is no groundbreaking altcoin out there, they born solely for the simple purpose of feeding your bitcoin wallet
12713  Economy / Speculation / Re: 21 millions bitcoiners on: August 03, 2015, 10:59:26 AM
I think there's a difference between "greedy" and "somebody that is trying to earn something".
I only have less than 1 BTC and I am without a job. Would you call that greed?
I would call that irrelevant. You essentially earn money when the price of Bitcoin rises. Converting to fiat is not necessary. With the value of your investment now increased (assuming Bitcoin price sees a uptrend) you can actually spend it to get more stuff that before.
I for one, do not have any plans to convert. I rather have plans to buy things. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that nobody should convert in any case.

Greed is usually very obvious (view the speculation section). Anyhow, this might already be a bit off topic.

Might be off topic, but I don't like to be called greedy when I own nearly nothing  Roll Eyes

https://www.google.it/search?q=greedy&oq=greedy&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l5.1079j1j7&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8

well greedy aren't only those that own many coins, but are also those that are here for the money only and not for the technology, if you're here for necessity you might be in between, i mean no one can guarantee that when you will be wealthy again you will not want to earn more...
12714  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which celebrity do you think will be the best advocator for Bitcoin? on: August 03, 2015, 10:55:57 AM

12715  Economy / Economics / Re: Taxing is legalized robbery on: August 03, 2015, 10:29:15 AM
Without taxes, how does the government pay for things such as roads, free healthcare(in some countries) and things such as education

They don't, and that is what we want.

can they simply pay less everyone and get rid of this tax bullshit? it would solve many things and money, because you do not need a taxman anymore

it would work precisely with employer and not employees
12716  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: August 03, 2015, 10:27:05 AM
if you have to choose between 1000 kg of gold and 1000 BTC?Huh??

isn't 1kg of gold les in value than 1k btc? we are talking about 35k(28g(1 ounces) at a price around 1k each) vs almost 300k(1k x 280), not a fair comparison, i would choose bitcoin in any case potential of bitcoin is vastly higher

and gold is even tanking not looking reliable at all, i think it will end under 1k in value

p.s. ah yeah correct it's 35M vs 300k i confused 1 ton with 1 kg...silly me
12717  Other / Off-topic / Re: When is it useful to borrow bitcoin? on: August 03, 2015, 10:24:20 AM
i would simply take their account as a collateral, account business is very accepted at present because of signature campign, so it's very safe to take it as a collateral

and for this reason i find lending here more safe than on some sites like btcjam where even A++ users will not pay some time
12718  Economy / Economics / Re: Dodging taxes helps pump bitcoin price? on: August 03, 2015, 10:22:51 AM
how to dodging the taxes?
because i think the tax is very horrible  Tongue

stay below a certain amount per year and be payed in bitcoin directly, or via mining or something else but do not touch fiat at all, you cna also use some other anonymous site that can avoid tax

like https://xmr.to/ which work with monero so it's pretty untraceable
12719  Economy / Economics / Re: Did Bitcoin Ruin Your Life, Or Help Your Life? on: August 03, 2015, 10:21:08 AM
Helped I guess...

One should NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER put so much money into BTC that it ruins your life.. EVER.

I've gotten decimated by the market but BTC has allowed me to donate to many things I believe in and has taught me SO much about cryptology it's crazy.

I`m sure 90% of the forum felt that before.

And yeah, its probably the worst feeling ever like how you lose at a casino. As for ruining your life comment, you should always think back on crazier people like the one who bought at $1k price or the fact the person sold his house for bitcoin.. remember that one?

I bought at $1200 lmao.  I also bought all the way down to even out my  buy price.  It wouldn't be the end of the world if it completely failed on me.

at you don't seems to hate bitcoin so hard enough like many other, if you are convinced enough and a true believer you might be rewarded in the end

it's not like bitcoin is ended with that crash there is still plenty of room to grow, so none should have his life ruined by bitcoin if he didn't sold at loss
12720  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MtGox CEO admits tweaking account on: August 03, 2015, 10:18:02 AM
we need decentralized exchange if you want to get rid of those asshole and the garbage surrounding them, as long they see plenty fo money around them they will turn malicious in no time not matter how angelic they were

i'll not be surprised if willy bot was built by him and the whole 1200 pump was concocted perfectly just to rise the volume on mtgox...
