12721  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Was this a good deal? (ASIC Purchase) on: December 13, 2014, 05:04:03 PM
All of A1 chips miner use more than 1W/GH. They are power hungry.

For all the 1T dragons this would be true.  But the 1.5T dragon does run around 1000-1100 watts been a while since I used a killawatt on it.
12722  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: December 13, 2014, 05:14:46 AM
so under-clocking just a little lower then 1266 watts for 2 sp20's would allow me to  run all those evga's with 2sp20 each.

so I know the sp30/31 can do lower freq then  750 can these sp20's go as low ?  Is this under clock safe?

I have a couple of 1300W EVGA PSUs too. If you can manage to run 2 SP20s on one PSU I would consider getting 2 so keep us updated.

yeah it is a piece of cake on the more costly 1600 p2

I am going to run the 1600 p2 at the 1266 watt 2400gh and low asic freq overnight.

if I am good to go I will test the 1600 p2 at a lower setting  from 7am to 7pm tomorrow.

if it still works I will then do the 1300 g2 with 2 sp20's

My EVGA 1300 just died after 4 days with a SP20. Luckily the SP20 made it ok.

Sorry to hear about the loss of a PSU.  I have a EVGA 1300 running on one as well.  Mine is working great no problems.   I would contact EVGA hopefully they can get you a RMA quickly.
12723  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to use Digital Ocean and other VPS to CPU Mine on: December 13, 2014, 04:31:53 AM
Do some ROI most VPS it cost more then you make.

Also it could have stopped but DO was pretty anti-miner.  If they saw heavy cpu usage you had to submit all kinds of info so they knew who you were.  Not sure if they got better or not.
12724  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I got some free btc online, but the microwallet still no pay for me! on: December 13, 2014, 04:28:25 AM

this already a week time. i have withdrawal limit reached.

microwallet have no customer service, what can i do?

I have not used micowallet.   Do you have ability to get private key (don't post it on board).  But if you can you can open with another wallet.

If you don't have access I'm guessing their support is only option.
12725  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: GHash.IO Mining pool connection failed on: December 13, 2014, 04:25:32 AM
sorry to sound like a newbie...

I tried connecting to the UK node... they only have the US one aswell? I haven't tried that.. but being honest I had the same issue when trying to connect to discuss fish aswell.. ?

Thanks

When you say connection failed does it have no connection?  Or is it mining slow?  Or what exactly is happening?

They do have a few nodes.   I'm wondering if possibly you need to set a difficulty is what my above questions are for.
12726  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cloudmining alternatives? (LTCGear) on: December 13, 2014, 01:56:53 AM
I think anyone that promises 2 month ROI in current market is hard to believe.  I don't know what kind of machine they are running that they profit and you profit in so little of time.

It is hard to know on ponzi as first people will make their money back.   So people who are last are the ones that loose.  On cloud mining I think some jump in to some cloud mining with out asking all the questions that should be asked.
12727  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to store your Bitcoin in a safe way? on: December 13, 2014, 01:52:38 AM
There is no need for all those. Use a paper wallet and it will remain safe.

It is hard to beat a paper wallet that is secured in something trusted as a security deposit box.

This was a interesting device and price is not as high as some alternatives.   It will take a while of testing before I would trust it with much.
12728  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Dec 2 to Dec 15 diff thread. ( +0.15%) to (+0.92%) on: December 13, 2014, 01:42:23 AM
Luck variation and a lot of luck variation, hash power is kind of the same with old miners out and new in...
I guess s5 is working very hard atm https://blockchain.info/blocks/AntPool
https://www.antpool.com/poolStats.htm?tp=1 pool history

Overall difficulty has not jumped like I would expect if a new next gen miner was out.

I think once AM or SP5 that are speculated are out we will see a overall jump we haven't yet https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty

Bitcoin Difficulty:    40,007,470,271
Estimated Next Difficulty:    39,873,927,899 (-0.33%)
Adjust time:    After 587 Blocks, About 4.1 days
Hashrate(?):    292,698,355 GH/s
Block Generation Time(?):
1 block: 10.1 minutes
3 blocks: 30.1 minutes
6 blocks: 1.0 hours

12729  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: December 12, 2014, 09:52:43 PM
Wondering about SP20:

Inside SP20 box are two PCB, is there possibility for have only one core plate running? by connecting psu to only one them?

If your wanting to have lower power you can underclock to a amazing level with SP20.  I am unsure why you would want to run only one side though.
12730  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: GHash.IO Mining pool connection failed on: December 12, 2014, 09:50:00 PM
Have you tried a different pool at ghash?  That might help or even fix depending.
12731  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining and electronics hybrid? on: December 12, 2014, 09:46:45 PM
Buying a bitcoin miner that could go into a PCI-E slot would be a decent seller IMO.   PERFECT for the hobby miner.

It's hard to do this.  There have been a few to advertise PCI-e that end up selling them once launched to sit out in air.  Monarch and there was another 2 I cant remember names i'm hitting a blank right now.

With cooling being outside of computer just makes sense.  Also being able to mine on their own without computer is a nice feature.
12732  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [ANN] HashCoins - Cryptocurrency Mining Hardware Manufacturer on: December 12, 2014, 05:16:31 PM
In order to avoid and resolve such questions, we send our equipment to dogie. Recently we have shipped him an Apollo (you can read his review and specs here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=881295). Next, we will send an Ares. And after the Ares the Zeus is planned to be sent. Generally, dogie's reviews are very thorough, so I hope you will be able to find answers to all your questions there.

Is there a reason you cannot send Ares and Zeus at same time? Or send Zeus first.   I think Zeus is one most of us would like to see specs on.
12733  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: bitmain s3 serial connect? on: December 12, 2014, 04:45:31 PM
This is the exact one I have and same place I ordered it from... you will need bogo pins (the gold pins) as well..u can find those in any electronics shop

http://www.dx.com/p/usb-to-uart-5-pin-cp2102-module-serial-converter-81872#.VIsYrNJ0yUk

What program are you using to send commands to board?

Also is it the debug it connects to on board?  If so what is the order of pins?

Thanks for sharing info you did already.
12734  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New to Bitcoin on: December 12, 2014, 03:31:18 PM
Your electricity is a little high sadly.   That and a VAT will make it harder for you to ROI.

With that being said i would look more at the SP20 with it being able to be underclocked.  I think electricity efficiency will be a big thing for you.

12735  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ok, lets atalk again, about recovering a wallet with my btc in it. on: December 12, 2014, 12:50:39 PM
What site did you sign up on?  That might help a little for us to know that.
12736  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Hide bitcoin process on: December 11, 2014, 11:26:40 PM
I think there is a reason a low activity account asked this.  Justifying this would be hard to do, most reasons are not legit or legal.
12737  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining and electronics hybrid? on: December 11, 2014, 11:24:23 PM
I think we are quite a bit away from this.  I think we first need more to accept and use bitcoins before we have to many hybrid's.

A argument would be they are being used for heaters for some.  So you could say some are serving dual purpose.
12738  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: getting btc out of old btce address on: December 11, 2014, 09:52:54 PM
I have had a deposit into my old btce.com btc address which they changed everyones address in july and gave them new ones .Does anyone know how I can retrieve the btc from that old address into my new address as btce say they cant transfer the btc. Thanks any advice or help welcomed.

I don't know how quick they are with btc-e.  But have you tried to contact them to do it?

Unless somehow you had the private key (which I have no idea if btc-e does).  Without the private key you will need their help to access the address.
12739  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: bitmain s3 serial connect? on: December 11, 2014, 09:45:08 PM
if i can find a serial connect in the box how do I even do what bitmain is instructing after that?

how do I get in to install that code they show in there email?

Thanks for the help.

You can ask them to go into more info.  Instead of buying a serial cable I bought a S3 controller from them.

I figure I will sell old controller to someone who has the equipment to re-flash/debug serial like they suggested to me aswell.

I paid for it and worked for me.   I cannot blame anyone else for mine losing power during flash.
12740  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Im new, but best way to get started... on: December 11, 2014, 09:34:54 PM
Avoiding preorders is a great idea.   My favorite miners that are out are the SP20 and S4.  Either one is a solid choice as a miner.
