12741  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: There's a vulnerability found in MEW. on: April 25, 2018, 04:26:09 PM
Perhaps if you will only check the balance of your ETH.
Why? Can't you do everything in the local version - including creating and broadcasting transactions?

Are you saying that there are limitations?
12742  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Difference in BTC & btc on: April 25, 2018, 12:30:02 AM
Is there a difference in 0.01BTC and 0.01btc? It's hard to believe Helix would charge $95 simply for a grams account.
No? BTC and btc are the same thing. And about which "Helix" are you talking about? If you're talking about the Bitcoin mixer and the "Darknet search engine", both stopped working on December 2017. Can you provide more info on what you bought and where?

I had always thought mBTC and uBTC were the other denominations (for lack of a better word). I appreciate any help.
They are.
12743  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: forum signature maker on: April 24, 2018, 11:00:31 PM
what about the 777 on the left side of your post? Is that an image?
You can't use images in the signature space. Nothing you see there is an image.

what activity do you need to that on your posts?
Hero Member or Legendary because he is using "glow" in his signature (the dark-blue background behind the 777coin text). Everything is explained in the two threads I linked above.
12744  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: There's a vulnerability found in MEW. on: April 24, 2018, 10:16:33 PM
Easiest solution ever: Download the MEW source code from its GitHub repo (https://github.com/kvhnuke/etherwallet/releases) and always run it locally. No more DNS spoofing!
12745  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: forum signature maker on: April 24, 2018, 09:22:52 PM
so your signature is not an image?
It's not. You can see the bbcode in this thread.

It looks nice. May I ask how you made it?
According to the trust left by ChipMixer, it was the user roslinpl. And here is the thread where he sells his signature design services.
12746  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Using one vs multible addresses on: April 24, 2018, 09:18:20 PM
Wouldn't this save me some fees when I spend the coins?
No. An input is an input. It doesn't matter if you receive 10 transactions in the same address or in 10 different addresses.

Why shouldn't I use the same address for every transaction?
Privacy.

To be more precise, the reuse of bitcoin addresses exposes both the initial user holding said funds and everyone else who becomes a future recipient of that bitcoin balance. Anyone who is actively monitoring the bitcoin blockchain to link identities to transactions will pounce on such opportunities with relative ease. Every time one uses the same address, any transaction linked to it in the past, present, and future will have their history exposed to prying eyes.

12747  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum doesn't restore right wallet address on: April 24, 2018, 08:33:18 PM
If it's a Bech32 address then just add p2wpkh: in front of the private key.
Eg p2wpkh:KPrivateKey
Can you make a topic for this on this board? Many people will need this.
Google couldn't tell me this, and it's great information for segwit adoption.

I'd make the topic myself, but I don't want to steal your thunder.
And he did... Here it is for anyone who cares:

[GUIDE] Importing Electrum Segwit Private Key Into Bitcoin Core (And Vice Versa)

Edit: just noticed that you are Loyce and already merited his thread. lol
12748  Other / New forum software / Re: Tag notification on Bitcointalk on: April 24, 2018, 08:09:50 PM
Nope I don't think he means the follower system. What he mean is,he needs to have a notification sent to him if a members tags his user-name in a post.Similar to telegram/facebook.I'm not sure if this is discussed somewhere but considering the new website (if ever launched) will have the notification system, this wouldn't be a big feature to add.
Ahh, I see... For some reason I thought he meant something like "adding a tag to the user", and not literally tagging him in a post.
IIRC, this feature is already available in the new beta software (which is unavailable right now for some reason).

Sorry @shield132 Tongue
12749  Other / New forum software / Re: Tag notification on Bitcointalk on: April 24, 2018, 07:43:40 PM
So, basically a "Follow Member" system?

Someone suggested the same here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3017552.0
12750  Other / Meta / Re: Why we don't ban abusers? on: April 24, 2018, 02:41:47 PM
Having alt accounts is not against rules.
However, I remember there was one case when moderator banned 200 alt accounts.
Reminds me of this case where the mods banned a whole office. Shocked

No, because they will create new accounts and start doing the same thing over and over again.
It's not that easy anymore because they will need tons of merit to rank up. If we ban all the old farmed accounts who are already Sr/Hero Member, those spammers will end up running out of accounts.
12751  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Electrum Ripple Wallet on: April 24, 2018, 02:00:32 PM
I'm 100% sure this is a fake wallet.

1. There is no mentions about this wallet or website anywhere;
2. There is no github link in the page. The git icon at the top leads to the original Electum (BTC) repo;
3. The twitter icon leads to the original Electrum twitter account;

The whole website tries to make you think that this wallet was created by the same devs from the original Electrum wallet - which is not true. E.g: The docs page tells you to visit docs.electrum.org, and to email admin-xrp@electrum.org if there is any issues. So, don't download it.
12752  Other / Meta / Re: I have no merits to send?? on: April 24, 2018, 01:56:15 PM
Have you tried reading the Merit & new rank requirements thread?

You get merit points when someone sends you some for one of your posts. Additionally, when someone sends you merit points, half of those points can be sent by you to other people.

Certain users are designated as "merit sources". They can create new merit out of nothing, up to a limited number per month (which differs per source). I will not be posting a definitive list of merit sources (so that people don't bug them too much), though you'll soon figure out who they are if you pay attention.
12753  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: MyEtherWallet login problem on: April 24, 2018, 01:47:55 PM
You NEED to do what is writen at the top of the MEW page to avoid getting phished.

DON'T GET PHISHED, please! 🎣 Thank you! 🤗
1. BOOKMARK MYETHERWALLET.COM      2. INSTALL EAL or MetaMask or Cryptonite

Those extensions will warn you when you visit a famous fake website and let you know if you are in the right website. If you follow those instructions, you won't get scammed.
12754  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Bitcoin/Bitcoin Cash match from fork Aug. 2017 on: April 24, 2018, 11:18:50 AM
HI!
So i make a new address on my Electrum wallet. And the just use the seed i get in Electrum and then use it in ElectronCash wallet?
Why cant i use the seed that i received long time ago when i made my Electrum wallet for the first time?
Have to make sure that i don't do any stupid stuff....
You can. Just make sure you are not downloading a fake wallet and you will be fine.
12755  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: When can a user of bitcoin talk expand their signature? on: April 24, 2018, 12:56:48 AM
Signature restrictions

- Jr. Member: Max 150 characters.
- Member: Links allowed. Unlimited length.
- Full: Color allowed.
- Sr. Member: Size allowed
- Hero: Background color allowed

If you don't know how the ranking system works: Forum ranks/positions/badges

12757  Other / Meta / Re: Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ on: April 23, 2018, 10:35:32 PM
-snip-
I don't care if having multiple accounts are allowed. That's not my point.

I'm saying that you got a negative trust for having 10 accounts in the same campaign and your answer for this is to create 2 new accounts. I'm pretty sure many DT members would tag all your new accounts for this, thus I thought it was funny that you decided to post this here.

Anyways, in the end, you can't just spam to rank up anymore since now you need to earn merit. So I don't care about what you do.
12758  Other / Meta / Re: Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ on: April 23, 2018, 09:19:33 PM
Why do you say I cheat?
Because of your neg trust reference, which connects your old "useless" account (Almasani) with 10 other accounts. And each of of them were participating in the same campaign (which is against the rules of the campaign, thus it's considered cheating). P.S: I really don't believe in your "all the mentioned accounts belong to my friends" bullshit excuse.

You re-read Forum Rules.
Which one exactly do you think I should re-read? Wink
12759  Other / Meta / Re: Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ on: April 23, 2018, 08:33:30 PM
Hi Admin and Global Moderator, I have three interconnected accounts.
1. Almasani ( Full Member) Red Trust.
2. JR-Almasani (Newbie)
3. Trusted By Almasani (Newbie)
Excuse me! I am create a new account, because my old account is no longer usable. Let me use those two accounts. If there is any violation of my bounty campaign, please banned!
Sorry if speaking english is less regular. I just want to tell about the account.
Thanks.
So, you were cheating bounties with multiple accounts and your solution after getting a negative trust is to create more accounts? And post them here?

Not very smart.
12760  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Keep away from CoinURL, it's a scam. on: April 23, 2018, 08:03:01 PM
I don't see why keep talking and bumping this thread about CoinURL. It's been a while since they've been gone, and the website is not even online anymore.
