12761  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Goxxed" is a terrible word on: April 07, 2014, 11:59:17 AM
saying "you been scammed" is not very descriptive.

but saying "you been goxxed" is excellent. because just those 3 words gives people knowledge that
1) a person was scammed out of funds
2) the scam happened in december 2013
3) the scam involved the exchange MT.Gox
4) the perpetrator was mark karpales
5) the perp' got away with atleast 740k btc

and soo on.

so i love the term as 3 words can open up so much information, where words such as:
Quote
"fractionalized" or even "banked"
do not even do the event justice

Getting 'goxed' should become the de facto word describing getting scammed by crypto-currency businesses. It will go down in history and as a reminder how amateurish bitcoin was in the early days. Cheesy

no, it should be used for the singular event
such as getting zhou tong'd is a known term for the bitcoinica event. (sorry noobs, thats before your time)
such as "i was at 9-11" is a known term for being at or very near the towers at that disaster.

to try watering down the pure disastrous and epic meaning of a term by linking it to any bad experience simply dilutes its meaning entirely, and it no longer becomes epic. so please keep terms for singular events, otherwise they become meaningless.

goxxed should remain solely for a event involving MT.Gox, pure and simple

Not at all. That's not how this works. Plus Mt Gox might not even exist anymore.
12762  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Overview of Signature-Ad Campaigns on: April 07, 2014, 11:49:54 AM
Everydice is paying in advance, they are just testing with me to see if they should launch a sig campaign

So it's a signature deal with just one person so far?
12763  Economy / Services / Re: ★★★ HIGHEST SIGNATURE PAYMENT ON THE BOARD - NEW RATES - RitzGrandCasino.com ★★★ on: April 07, 2014, 11:47:41 AM
any one get pay ?

Yes, everyone did, but you don't have enough activity to join yet.
12764  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Goxxed" is a terrible word on: April 07, 2014, 10:59:28 AM
+1, karpeles is the official name of scammers from now on.

karped ?

I love it

Karped if by one
 Goxed if by many

Haha. I like Karped. Megakarp if it's a massive scam  Cheesy.
12765  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Overview of Signature-Ad Campaigns on: April 07, 2014, 10:57:24 AM
Thanks for the update.

At least one person has been paid from GAWminers.

Zoomhash will apparently be re-opening very soon: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=515353.0

You don't even need three words, just the one, but I think goxxed will become known for many different things - being scammed, shoddy service, exchanges holding funds for ages etc.
12767  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Making the world a safer place with bitcoin on: April 07, 2014, 09:59:20 AM
Strippers leave the strip club really late at nite with thousands of dollars in cash. This is a recipe for robbery. What if we all go out there and talk strippers into accepting bitcoins? This would increase the demand for bitcoins.

Why don't you make it your job to make this happen and go pursuade them? I think this is one example of where cash may be king, unless people start stuffing paper wallets in their knickers instead of dollar bills.
12768  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banksy on: April 07, 2014, 09:56:17 AM
the connection is already on the table:

Alex Winter's next documentary "Deep Web: The Untold Story of Bitcoin and Silk Road" will be produced by Marc Schiller, founder of the Wooster Collective which list Banksy under their artists.
On top Schiller's company Bond Strategy and Influence was involved with the marketing on "Banksy - Exit through the Gift Shop" and he is surmised to be a close friend of him.

I'm sure if banksy isn't involved in bitcoin he has already heard of it and is watching closely.

Banksy painting a Bitcoin logo onto a parody of something would be great exposure / advertising. I hope it eventually happens.
12769  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Goxxed" is a terrible word on: April 07, 2014, 09:52:23 AM
I also like calling a scammer a Karpeles...

anybody?  anybody?

And once you've been scammed by a Karpeles that's known as being 'Frappuchionoed'.  Cheesy

I watched We're The Millers last night. Bit of a ridiculous and silly/stupid plot, but there were quite a few laughs in it and one especially lol-worthy scene.

Haha. Weedbaby.

I bet Dafar is one of the guys in the pictures from here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=559112.0;topicseen  Cheesy.
12772  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Looking to buy BTC (4000 USD and up) on: April 07, 2014, 08:56:49 AM
Relatively new here so I could't post this in the marketplace section.  But I am looking to buy some BTC and gain some good relationships with legit sellers.  I'm willing to do cash deposits straight into your bank account or whatever really works for you.

You can post in the marketplace. There are no newb restrictions anymore.

Can see a problem with the PvP game here on primedice. If there is a faucet, whats stopping me from using a different computer, get the faucet amount and just keep playing with myself until I have both my BTC + faucet money AND I now have enough to cash out. Now, this is isnt much but if someone finds a way to bot this, it could become an issue.

Worst case we could implement a minimum bet on PVP of 0.0001 or so.

Does this mean faucet will never be higher than 0.0001 for any level member?Smiley

U want more than 10k ? Cheesy

I think it wouldn't be a faucet any more if it was giving that amount away. Wouldn't be very difficult to make the minimum withdraw then either.

But to get to that faucet amount you'd have to have wagered some btc. Smiley

You'd've probably had to have wagered a lot to get that ammount. It's still probably too risky for PD to give such an ammount out, but I'm all for more from the faucet  Cheesy.
12774  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can I burn my wallet on a DVD? on: April 07, 2014, 07:50:59 AM
And how would it work? Can I burn Down the wallet files and a wallet program on the DVD and then keep the adress on my computer and keep sending bitcoins to my DVD under my matress?  Smiley

I do not see a need to record wallet program files on a DVD. You will be not able to start this application from a DVD on some other device..

Anyway a compact disk is a not good data storage option.. as it can be broken/damaged very easy.

In what way is a disc in its folder not a safer Storage than for example a USB memory-stick?

Ok so skip the wallet program. That was just stupid. Cheesy

Don't just back it up to one medium once. Burn a few copies and have a back up on a USB or two.
12775  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to LOSE money online? on: April 07, 2014, 07:44:58 AM
I think the two main ones on here are gambling and lending money to newbs.

The government has schizophrenia.

Sometimes it likes us,
and sometimes it hates us.
Sometimes it helps us,
and sometimes it attacks us.

We're their boss; we pay their wages, except they like to give the impression that they're in charge. People don't usually like their bosses but like the fact that they pay them, so they have to feign a little bit of respect and care when in actuality they don't.

Surprised to see that Stunna hasn't changed rates for the lower forum ranks to compete with ritz.
Bit dissapointed as well, truth to be said.

Its just childish to up the rates whenever some new competitor appears . And i don't understand why u disappointing when u are on ritz campaign Smiley
HuhHuh
Perhaps because it's nice to see competition going whatever the cause is. And also you're implying Stunna is behaving childishly, as he already DID up the rates, just not for the lower ranks.

Keep your shitposts to yourself, ty.
Please don't post here about any rats or stupid posts Stunna already clear this if any one have problem then create your own thread and talk all about these rats and any thing Good Luck  Smiley

He actually said "By all means discuss the campaign", which this would probably fall under, but there goes that irony again.

And I laughed at 'shitposts'.

even if it happens you don't need to go back 5years..! just note down the winners of all the games played today..! or try to get the marketting charts with you and than just go 1or2days behind.. if you want to time travel for money, atleast this is my plan ..!

Haha. There are no rules except don't spam or use spambots. Everything else goes  Cheesy.
