It's also a new way of introducing a man in the middle attack. You'll have to trust a third party not to change your addresses to their own. And trusting a third party doesn't do justice to Bitcoin's trustless design.
This is something I can agree on. The best solution would be to self-host your own "my addresses" page.

Giving the same addresses to different people is a terrible idea. Apart from reduced privacy caused by address reuse, you won't know for sure who sent you the payment.
Normally this would be true. But it doens't matter if you are only using the address to receive donations.
12782  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Accidentally sent LTC to BTC address on: April 20, 2018, 12:38:19 PM
The amount of incorrect answers and spammers posting things they don't know are bothering me. If I was theymos in this situation, I would just perma ban this kind of users who can't spend 3 minutes searching on Google before posting shit just so they can get paid in their signature campaign. </rant>

@OP: In almost all cases, the LTC is not gone forever. Actually, you can recover it in a fairly easy way if you own the wallet where you sent the coins.

12783  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: GDAX fees. on: April 20, 2018, 01:33:25 AM
Yes, I was charged the fee when I bought. Now I'm waiting for price to hopefully go up. If it does that and I sell, will I be charged an additional fee?
Normally, every time you execute an order (every time you sell/buy), a fee will be taken from the amount you are buying/selling.

But... you need to understand how GDAX fees work. Passive orders (maker) has no fees. While active orders (taker) has a fee of 0.30% (until you trade more than $10m, then your fees will get better);

If you don't know the difference, read this:

https://www.gdax.com/fees
https://cryptocurrencyfacts.com/maker-vs-taker-cryptocurrency/

TLDR:
Every time you place an buy/sell order that is executed immediately (i.e you are buying/selling at the market price), you will be charged a fee of 0.30%;
Every time you place an buy/sell order that isn't executed immediately (i.e you put an order to sell 1 BTC at a higher price than the market's price, so it takes some time to get executed), you won't be charged anything.

Next time take a look at the stickied post/search a little bit before making any questions.

y not use just watch-only wallet which cant get hacked and u know all address balance?
Because usually you can't share your watch-only wallets with other people. Especially if we are talking about a "less-known" cryptocurrency like MNX or CEFS (I counted ~1486 cryptocurrencies, so there are a few that don't have an easy shareable watch-only software/website).
12786  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: GDAX fees. on: April 20, 2018, 12:22:11 AM
I couldn't understand your question very well.

The fee is charged from the amount you successfully sold/bought (if that's what you're asking).
12787  Other / Meta / Re: About thread locking request on: April 19, 2018, 11:39:31 PM
Your post remembered me of this one: Report Sufficiently Answered Topic(s) to Lock

No one from the Staff gave a conclusive answer on the subject. However, this post caught my attention:

I see Smiley

Anyways, the good news is: They (Moderators) are now responding to "lock thread" requests.
I tried it twice (With the right reasons) and afterwards they locked the reported threads.

In one instance, I PMed the Author right after using the "Report to Moderator" button.
After a few hours the user had sent me a PM saying that "a mod already locked his thread".

You can lock the thread now.

P.S: There is no evidence that those posts were locked because of the report.
12788  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Electrum to Electron Cash is VIEW ONLY MODE on: April 19, 2018, 10:09:33 PM
Explain me some things so I can help you better:

1. Do you still have your BTC wallet that you used in Electrum and now are trying to import into Electron Cash?
2. Is your Bitcoin address starting with a 1, 3 or btc1?
3. Those BCH you are trying to spend... Did you receive them in a recent transaction? Or are you trying to "claim" them because of the Bitcoin Cash fork "airdrop"?
4. If you are just trying to "claim" them, did you had your Bitcoins in this wallet before August 1st, 2017?
5. Are you sure that you have BCH in your wallet? Did you try to search some of your addresses in a BCH explorer (i.e https://www.blockdozer.com/insight/) to see if they have any balance?
12789  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Electrum to Electron Cash is VIEW ONLY MODE on: April 19, 2018, 07:24:54 PM
You are probably importing your master PUBLIC key (starts with xpub), which isn't enough to spend the coins.

You said you can't import your 12 word seed. This means that one or more of those words is probably wrong. Do you still have your Electrum wallet file? You could open it again with Electrum and go to "Wallet" -> "Seed" to double-check your seed and see if everything is right. Or just do what I said above and open your wallet file into Electron Cash.

Did you try this? (if you still have your wallet file)
Quote
Do you still have your Electrum wallet file? You could also just open it directly on Electron Cash (File -> Open -> Select your wallet file).

Edit: Forgot to say that you posted this in the wrong board. Move it to the Electrum sub-board by clicking at "Move topic" at the bottom left of the page and selecting "Bitcoin --- Electrum")
12790  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Electrum to Electron Cash is VIEW ONLY MODE on: April 19, 2018, 06:33:18 PM
"Standard Wallet" ->  "I already have a seed" -> Write your seed -> "Next";

Is this what you have done? If so, it should be working.

Do you still have your Electrum wallet file? You could also just open it directly on Electron Cash (File -> Open -> Select your wallet file).
12791  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What's going on with Poloniex? on: April 19, 2018, 06:00:11 PM
I wanted a reliable, legit exchange with good, responsive support - am I wasting my time with Polo?
Yes. Honestly, you should just give up and try a different exchange. It's been a while since Poloniex is in decay, "going backwards with its volumes"[1] and never improving their support. If you want to trade altcoins, I recommend you to try Binance (it doesn't require any KYC/AML verification).

While I completely agree with what TryNinja said, I very much doubt that Poloniex is experiencing an influx of new users -- this exchange is only going backwards with its volumes, and everything points at an outflow of users instead of the opposite. Less volume means less usage, which should be an important and decisive indicator. Binance is swallowing the far majority of the users, followed up by Bittrex, which opened its registrations very recently. If this downfall of Poloniex continues, and I have no reason to think otherwise, they will be covered under a thick layer of other exchanges doing better business. Feel sorry for Poloniex though.

24 hour volumes.

Poloniex 6400 BTC
Bittrex 70,000 BTC
Binance 200,000 BTC

Sure, Verge is pushing some serious volumes, but even without Verge, Poloniex heavily lags behind, and that for months straight, and only falls further.
12792  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Gdax is too complicated? on: April 19, 2018, 05:05:01 PM
I don't think it is. It also has way lower fees and no BTC withdrawal fees than Coinbase's. So, learning how to use it is worth it.

This video[1] of 5 minutes shows how simple it is to use GDAX and save money on fees.

Nothing beats the paper wallet

Fire and water (and time) does.
What about this "steel" wallet?

12794  Economy / Services / Re: 😈FREE BOUNTY MANAGER😈 on: April 19, 2018, 04:14:45 PM
Be careful everyone. OP could be legit and wanting to work for free so he can build a portfolio of campaigns managed. I remember at least one manager that did the same and it worked out for him.

BUT he can also only be willing to manage a bounty/campaign for free so he can add his alt accounts and cheat money from the owner of the campaign (I'm not accusing him, but it's a possibility - mainly because he has no reputation.).
12795  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: best desktop wallet ? on: April 18, 2018, 11:16:10 PM
Are you running Windows 7 or 8/8.1? Run your Windows Update to make sure your OS is updated.

The fees for next-block confirmations are always changing. However, fees are pretty low right now.
You can use a website like https://coinb.in/#fees to see which fee is recommended (i.e right now they are suggesting a fee of 3 sat/byte).
12796  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: best desktop wallet ? on: April 18, 2018, 10:36:57 PM
Bitcoin Core is a good option. However, if you don't want to download the whole Blockchain (~194 GB), Electrum is by far the best option (fully customizable, has segwit, RBF, custom fees).

Which ones you shouldn't use:

Mycelium is outdated, has no segwit and shady devs;
Bitpay/Copay is shit;
Bitcoin.com is owned by Ver and promotes Bcash;
12797  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Displaying the current Bitcoin price on: April 18, 2018, 08:30:30 PM
In this case, you are loading the price.php page into your iframe. So, the price will be printed in the price.php and shown in the page where you set the iframe code.
12798  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Obtaining The Private Key For Each Address In The Electrum Wallet on: April 18, 2018, 07:55:50 PM
1. Enable the Addresses tab by going to: View -> Show Addresses;
2. Go to the Addresses tab;
3. Right click your address -> Private key;

That's it!
12799  Other / Off-topic / Re: .................................... on: April 18, 2018, 07:35:09 PM
someone made a contest about finding a hidden signed  Tx

and If you can find it, It is yours.

& The TX has a payment of the prize amount
Doesn't that mean that the owner of the address already decided to which address the coins are going and there is no way you can change it? You can't simple change the output address in an already signed transaction.

*please correct me if I'm wrong*
12800  Other / Meta / Re: This guy spamming giveway mostly on all local boards! Is it allowed? on: April 18, 2018, 06:18:42 PM
No. And even if it was, he is basically spamming the forum.

2. No off-topic posts.
