1281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You are still very early on: July 16, 2023, 02:08:00 PM
Then there are people who believe it's too late for them to invest in Bitcoin. They feel they should have invested when 1BTC/$1k.
They fail to understand that there is no limit to how high Bitcoin can get to. It's was over $60k a couple of years ago, I bet there are people who felt it's too late for them, now it's about $30k.  A time might come when it would be $100k and even then it won't be too late. It's never too late.
There's no such a thing as too late when it comes to Bitcoin. Feeling it's too late will only make you miss out on more opportunities that you would have taken advantage of.
1282  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin leave to be decentralized on: July 16, 2023, 01:54:46 PM
But if bitcoin loses its decentralized nature, it will cease to be an investment and store of value. Bitcoin would not be an investment if it were centralized because if someone could control it, they could increase the supply and render it useless just like fiat.

Bitcoin has always been a thorn in the government's side, and if it becomes centralized, the government will control everything and even destroy it. So it can be said that the decentralized nature has made bitcoin successful today, if bitcoin becomes centralized, it will be useless, and the game will be over. The decentralized nature is at the core of what makes bitcoin different and unique.

The decentralized nature of Bitcoin is a concrete feature but we must admit that that is not the only reason why Bitcoin has thrived.
Fiat is not useless. It's still a store of value. Majority of the world still use Fiat. Less than 5% of the world population own crypto. So how many of these will be for Bitcoin? Besides, a good number of those using crypto still use fiat. And the over 95% of people in the world use Fiat as a store of value.

If Bitcoin was just a decentralized currency and it cannot be invested then I doubt it would as successful as it is today.
So it's right to say the decentralized nature and the investment nature are the things that make Bitcoin successful.
1283  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: July 13, 2023, 07:06:32 AM
hopefully Arsenal with their young players can fight in the Champions League. However, it's not just Arsenal who have changed. City is probably the most consistent in keeping his team. but new challengers like Man United are also experiencing some changes in the squad. I hope some teams from the Premier League can take important positions in the Champions League. apart from the strength of the teams in Europe which I also don't think the teams from the Premier League can underestimate.

If Arsenal doesn't get unlucky they might go far in the champions league.  Arsenal are usually unlucky in the champions league.  They might struggle to come out of the group stages only to be paired against Bayern in the round of 16.
I believe Arsenal will be better than they were last season.  They have learned and signed more players and they're still signing.  They're not just signing any player but players that fit into their system.
The champions league is a difficult trophy to win and it's going to take a lot from Arsenal if they're going to win.  Consistency is one thing they will need to win the champion's league,  one slip-up and they might be out.
1284  Economy / Economics / Re: How do banks generate income? on: July 13, 2023, 06:39:43 AM
In Europe banks have come up with a charge from 1-3% depending on the country you are on money on arrival. For example if you exchange crypto through some exchange online and receive money in your account, let's say 1000 dollars the bank get from 10-30 dollars in just one single such transaction. This was not before and this means that the banks are always looking for more ways to "steal" people from money that they belong to them, just like in this case when you got money in arrival. All other mentioned ways of course are well known, just wanted to add this new invention of Europe banks from about 7-8 months now.

That's huge. I mean, you are paying them a fee for just a transaction like sending or receiving, and all banks in Europe are doing this? This is very hard for the customers as they are forced to pay that fee, and I would say it is some kind of theft. We are just lucky that this is not the same in our country if you transact within your bank, but if your bank is different and you transact to another bank, that is where the fees start, which are also huge but not the same in your country.

It's a crazy charge and the first time I've heard of it. Honestly, I don't believe in that charge. If I remember correctly, the transaction fees of banks in my country range from 0.1% to 0.3% or less, and that's a hefty fee for many people. I don't believe that is happening in developed countries like Europe, and their people will accept those huge transaction fees. Even e-wallets don't charge such high fees, how can banks do that? I really doubt these.

Those are actually very ridiculous numbers.  So if I'm being charged 3% of the money I  received,  how much will I be charged for transferring that same amount of money?  It's also a very fraudulent act because usually, the person sending the money bears the transaction charges, which means the bank is charging twice for a particular transaction.
This is hard to believe.
I believe the bank can do this for their customers involved in illegal activities like money laundering, drugs, embezzled funds, and so on,  but to charge that kind of amount on honest people that make an honest living is absurd.  I know the banking institutions are dirty as fuck,  but I don't think they can openly do things like this and nothing would be don't about it.
1285  Economy / Economics / Re: Do your work. on: July 13, 2023, 06:20:27 AM
Invest your saving in precious metals like gold and silver or digital assets like bitcoin, or it can in some potential stock or it can be in real estate. Invest your money where ever you want. Just do not keep it in a bank. The Bank interest rate is not higher than the inflation. You are losing money not gaining it. The point is to invest even if your saving is negligible.

I don't agree that everybody should have their own business. Not everyone will own a business.
But I agree with everybody investing their savings in something. It doesn't have to be a huge sum of money,  but the idea of you having an investment somewhere will motivate you to invest more.  Even if a certain investment doesn't work out,  that doesn't mean you should stop investing and save. Investing is good.  I know people that invested in real estate while they were younger and now that they're old and retired they just rely on their investments for money.
It might not make you a multi-millionaire but it will keep you on your feet when you are no longer able to work.
1286  Economy / Economics / Re: Elon Musk and the fall of Twitter on: July 13, 2023, 05:50:59 AM
Everytime I click on a crypto related trending topic the first thing I see is scammers and bots with blue checkmarks at the top of the results. Allowing random people to pay for greater visibility has ruined the user experience. It's hard to find useful information among all the trash blue checkmark accounts that pay their way into users' feeds. That's just one of many issues plaguing the site since Musk's takeover.

It's crystal clear that Twitter has been declining since Mr Musk took over.
With $8 a month, you can have a verified account on Twitter.  That's absurd when you think about the fact that a lot of people get information from Twitter Usually this information comes from verified accounts and for you to be a verified account you have to be vetting and to an extent.
I can get a blue tick today and proceed to scam people with it because some don't understand that a blue tick today just means how long you can keep paying $8.
Aside from that,  the app just keeps recycling the same tweets for you even after you refresh.  You see tweets from people you don't follow and accounts you don't have an interest in.  You don't even see tweets of your mutual the way you used to anymore.
I believe Musk will find a way to keep his app to keep generating money for him but if any of the newly launched apps stays long enough at this rate,  it might take over the market from Twitter.
1287  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 12, 2023, 10:14:01 PM
I don't think Chelsea will be competing for the EPL title next season, they have a lot of ground to cover before they can challenge for the EPL title again, they have a new manager, too many new players that are yet to adapt, and a 'new' hierarchy at the club that's yet to understand how football works (i consider Todd Boehly to be clueless about the beautiful game). Thus, next season Chelsea will be in the race for a top four finish, and if they can add one of the domestic cups to it (either the FA Cup or Carabao cup), then it would be a good first season for Pochettino.

With the right Manager Chelsea should be among the top four next season but I doubt they have the right manager.  They have a manager that will make them but I don't think he will make them into a team that will be in the top four,  not to talk of competing for the league. The season is going to be very competitive,  with Liverpool and Arsenal making big moves.  Tottenham also look like they know what they're doing then there's Newcastle,  while Manchester City will keep being Manchester City.
Pochettino will try his best for Chelsea,  but u feel his vest would be a Europa League spot.
1288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: July 12, 2023, 09:28:56 PM
Against the background of the fact that Tottenham wants 150 million for Kane, 200 million for Mbappe looks like an adequate amount  Grin
As far as I understand, PSG are trying to sell Mbappe before July 31st in order not to pay him a loyalty bonus (lol), so there is a possibility that we will see some real news very soon.

From what I can tell about this deal,  I feel Real Madrid doesn't want to pay big money for Mbappe.  200 million is too much for a player that has only one year left in his contract.  PSG is a very foolish club.  What were they expecting when they did everything possible to keep Mbappe two seasons ago when they had the opportunity to sell him for around 150 million?
Fiorentino Perez and Madrid may decide to play the long game and wait till next season so they can get Mbappe for free.  Madrid seems pretty confident that they will get Mbappe,  if not this summer,  then next summer.
1289  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 12, 2023, 09:03:59 PM
These teams need a lot bigger names to have success, and I do not mean just talent, I mean like experience and name at the same time as well. They are at the highest level of football, and without having those huge names, it's not going to be good enough for them.

I can understand if Newcastle wants to add young talent to their squad,  but Chelsea?  Chelsea already has a lot of young talent,  a lot of players with potential in their squad.  A team shouldn't have that much young talent in their squad and still looking for more.  Team's need a blend of young talent and experience.
The risk is signing a lot of young players is that it is almost certain that not all of them will leave up to their potential and that would be a wasted investment.  There are situations where experience is needed,  like in the bug stages of the champions league.
1290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Motivating gambling addicts to invest in bitcoins. on: July 12, 2023, 08:54:12 PM
Good idea. However, addiction is bad,  even if you're addicted to a good thing. So it doesn't matter if they're addicted to Bitcoin or gambling,  it's bad.
Note:  not everyone who losses money in gambling is an addict.  It's gambling,  it's either you win or you lose.
I didn't think enlightening people about Bitcoin would stop people from being gambling addicts.  The reason is that Bitcoin is an investment,  it takes time,  while gambling is done within minutes or hours. So yeah,  they would invest in Bitcoin,  if they're smart enough,  but they will still be addicts in my opinion.  They didn't become gambling addicts because there was nothing for them to invest in.

Welcome to the forum, OP. Not to gatekeep, but you shouldn't rely too much in Bitcoin that could change your life. It isn't a profit-generator although I kinda contradict myself as a hodler, I just want to get my point across that it shouldn't be to be fully relied on.

I don't think you're contradicting yourself.  Holding Bitcoin doesn't mean you rely on Bitcoin to change your life.  Although Bitcoin did literary save a lot of people's lives.
And it's good you gave him this advice so he doesn't get the wrong idea about Bitcoin.
He should just look at the success stories of others and feel it's an overnight success.  They worked for it.  He needs to know this.
1292  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: July 11, 2023, 11:16:35 PM
I am Man united fan and i can tell you Man U is not yet ready for the champions league, I will advocate for Asernal more than Man United, look at how poor they are doing in the transfer window, a serious club will by now get their main targets but till now, they have not, no squad depth, until they offload some dead wood players like chelsea is doing and sign new players until then, they are not serious yet
It's very funny to hear someone who claims to be a club fan but season after season they are supported by opposing clubs. I don't know how many days have you supported Man United? said the club was not ready, in terms of squad depth, it was not qualified and so on. You think Arsenal is now ready? just because of the squad of young players? even without experience in the Champions League (isn't it no different from Man United) but at least Man United has players who have played in the Ucl many times. So if you now support Arsenal, what is the strongest foundation to deserve to compete in the Champions League competition?

He's not entirely wrong though.  Manchester United don't look ready.  There are a lot of positions that need to be strengthened in the Manchester United squad but nothing has been done about them. Manchester United needs at least one more central defender but they didn't seem like they're pursuing any right now.  They need a world-class top striker but that trail has gone cold too.  How about the central midfield position?
Manchester United always seem slow in the transfer market then they'll make a panic buy towards the end of the window and that signing will turn out to be not very good.

I can't say Arsenal is more ready for the champions league than Man United but I know Arsenal will be better than Man United in the league next season
1293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 11, 2023, 11:00:05 PM
I am convinced that a coach can't responsible for everything. If thre are all these multi-millionaires and suddenly they don't know how to play anymore and lose one game after another, it is of course bad if the coach is no authority and can't get into the heads of the players, but blaming him alone or saying that didn't perform well is not the full answer to the question why Chelsea played like trash. The players should carry much more responsibility in those situations.

When a team starts losing one game after the other,  the first person I look at is the coach.  If this is a big team that has spent money on players and we know that these players are not very bad then we have to blame the coach.  It is the job of the coach to make sure players play well.  It is their job to make sure these players play the way he wants.

I'm not putting all the blame on the coach,  didn't get me wrong,  but the responsibility of that team lies in the coach. In the case of Chelsea,  I'm very certain a bad coach was their problem.  Chelsea couldn't win teams in the relegation zone and below mid-table teams,  that tells you a lit. They also couldn't create enough chances (I know they didn't have the right midfield ) and they couldn't score goals.
Despite not having good goal scores and creators on their team last season,  they should have done way better if they had a better coach.
1294  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 11, 2023, 10:18:05 PM
The possible exit of Romelu Lukaku has given rise to the need for a new centre forward for Pochettino, names have been mentioned as possible targets this summer and one of those name happens to be Dusan Vlahovic. The speculation about this deal have been going on for a while but no concrete bids have been said to be submitted but talks ungoing between parties involved. It is no longer a secret that Pochettino fancies having a young team and considers Wahi as a suitable choice in that position.

Chelsea should go all out for Harry Kane.  Even if it's for 100 million.  He's worth it.  Kane is a risk worth taking.  They need a player like that leading their attack. I'm still not convinced with Chelsea's attack the only player I feel can do something for them is Nkunkun and even he can't do it alone.  They were not able to get a very good central attacking midfielder but they should make sure they get a world-class striker.  Right now Kane is the only reliable one.  He may be old and got just one year left in his contract,  but he is worth it because he can give Chelsea more than 3-4 years of elite-level football.
Vlahovic is just another striker.  I don't think he is what Chelsea needs right now.
1295  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: July 11, 2023, 10:08:29 PM
Yes, the truth is that Ancelotti is one of the best coaches in the world, and a game can be lost, the bad thing is that he chose the strategy that was not for a final, here what we can draw as a conclusion is that the white team It will always be very big and whoever it is with , I really miss the direction of some technical directors like Mou , Zidane , who have always given Madrid great victories, they know how to manage a team with many stars, and that is what It really matters here, for example right now they really need a Zidane to put the team at full throttle , so that they always give it their all in every game.

What I have noticed that the Madrid players need is more motivation , that start that is always needed for things to go well for them, that is what I see that they could be missing , of course it is my way of looking at it , I don't know if maybe they are Something Else.

When I list all-time best coaches,  I don't include Ancelotti.  He's a good coach quite alright but he's not among the all-time greatest.  The only thing that makes him stand out is his 5 champions league which is quite an accomplishment,  but we can't judge based on only the champions league. If it were so,  Zidane would be among the greatest coaches of all time.
Ancelotti has only 5 league titles in about 28 years of being a manager.  That's really poor stats if we're been honest.
He has coached the biggest clubs in different countries and he should have at least 10 league titles by now.  He has coached Bayern,  Chelsea,  PSG,  Milan,  Madrid, and Juventus. He should have had more than 5 league titles with these teams even if he couldn't win with Napoli,  Everton, or Parma.
1296  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: July 11, 2023, 09:46:41 PM
Its interesting to see how close Allegri seems to be with Juventus, even though Al-Hilal offered him €30 million to leave. It makes you wonder if his dedication is misplaced. There is a small line between being dedicated and being lazy, and I think Allegri may be dangerously close to that line. He's had some bad moments at Juventus, where fans have called for his head on more than one occasion. Even though he's always being watched, its strange that he's decided to stay. His choice could be because he believed in Juventus's potential or because he didnt want to go somewhere new. The latter is a bit upsetting to me. The combination of a fun task and a good salary should have been enough to convince him. Still, only Allegri knows for sure what drives him.

It's funny how someone not wanting to follow only the money may be seen as lazy. Don't you think his staying at Juventus is the more difficult decision?  Juventus is in a very bad situation right now and he doesn't want to bail out on them now that they need him most.  He believes he can bring the club out of that situation and back to the ucl and win the league title.  There's nothing wrong with having faith in yourself and the club you love and work for.
I am not a fan of Allegri but he has done it at Juventus before and he can do it again if he has the support of the club and fans.
1297  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 10, 2023, 11:27:09 PM
Mauricio Pochettino is a manager that I respect so much not just because of his catchy and very professional attitude on the touchline but also his tactical prowess and his ability to dictate his team's weakness during matches while making substitutions where necessary.
He'll definitely make a great manager at Chelsea as he has the capacity to effect positive change on the club

It seems I'm the only one that does not trust Pochettino that much.
I believe he will make Chelsea better, they will play better and they will be more united than they were last season, but I don't think he can turn Chelsea into title contenders. We've seen Pochettino coach different teams. He was good at Tottenham, but that was all. His best at Tottenham was finishing second and getting to the champions league final, which is incredible, but not winning a single trophy speaks very poorly in his resume.
At PSG l, he was not a very good coach either, he managed to win the league but his team was awful. Pochettino's PSG was a pain in the eyes to watch.
So judging by his track record, it's hard for me to be optimistic about Pochettino.
1298  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: July 10, 2023, 11:20:13 PM
Given the rumors that Mauricio Pochettino himself seems to be interested in Vlahovic, then such a scenario is quite viable. Another question is whether Lukaku himself is interested in such an option, because it seems that the player himself would like to stay at Inter and is even ready to make a significant salary reduction for this. However, if Inter itself refuses to acquire a player, then the probability of such a transfer will increase, because neither Chelsea nor Lukaku are interested in continuing cooperation in any form.

Inter might be the losers if Lukaku goes in to Juventus.
Also Chelsea would not be getting the kind of player they want because I don't think Vlahovic is a world class player. He is good but he's not world class. Chelsea needs to be careful with the kind of players they sign. They are signing players with a lot of potential, it's good but they need players with experience too. They should go for a striker that has experience.
If I were Chelsea, I would go all out for Harry Kane. He is the kind of striker they need right now, not Vlahovic.
1299  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 10, 2023, 10:17:05 AM
That would be pretty stupid of them to do. Lukaku is cheap, buy or loan him doesn't matter because he is a cheap player who is not going to end up giving you 15+ goals a season with the way he is right now, certainly not more which they need.

Vlahovic was a superstar in the making and  there are a lot of teams interested in him, and that's normal for him to leave in order to get more money and I can understand that, there is absolutely no problem with that and I can understand that, but to replace him with Lukaku makes no sense. They could make a lot of money from his sale, or even the fact that Juventus is a rich club should provide them with a good amount of choices that are vastly better than Lukaku if you ask me and should be done properly.

I had high hopes in Vlahovic, I thought he was going to be among the top three strikers of his generation, but I was wrong. He's a B-list striker at best, that's if he's up to that. You think of Vlahovic more than he is. He's not all that. I didn't watch him at Fiorentina, but I watched him at Juventus. He's not that clinical in from of goal.
He maybe a better option than Lukaku, but he's not a very big upgrade on Lukaku.
Point of correction, Juventus is not a rich team. Not according to their accounts. They're struggling financially and need to sell player to stay in line with the regulations and all. Selling Vlahovic and getting a more expensive striker is not good business.

Lukaku have scored 30 goals a season before, something Vlahovic has not done and it doesn't look like he'll do it. I believe Lukaku can replicate those number under the right circumstances.

Quite a bold move for Barcelona with their limited finances, they made a rather expensive purchase for a young player. But in my opinion it is a form of investment, because at the same time they also get players for free after being able to get Gundogan's signature this season. Indeed at times like this loaning out the players they bring in becomes an option, so that they still get money. 2 La Liga giants are competing to bring in talented young players now.

Barcelona have been making positive moves since their new president, Laporta came back for a second time. Last season they managed to get Lewandoski, Kounde, Raphinha, Christensen and renew some important players. This season the have signed Gundugan, Inigo Martinez, and Victor Roque and they would still add at least 2 more signings. That's pretty good business if you ask me. I don't think any other big club has been able to do that with the limited finances that Barcelona have.
Barcelona missed out on Arda Güler but that was a player that Barcelona could afford to lose. In fact they wanted to keep him till next season so that's not so big of a lose.
Barcelona still needs a right back and a Defensive midfielder that would be a pivot and I believe they would get both those signings.
