1281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 14, 2022, 07:00:43 PM
No more panic for South Africa as they will easily cruise to victory tomorrow. I already told that era of Indian cricket dominance will slowly come to an end the after their poor performance in the T2 world cup and now you can see the results.
I don't know why the Indian fans are against  Virat Kohli ? He is not alone responsible for this defeat, it is the BCCI which needs to be blamed and boycott.

I cannot blame BCCI for India's poor performance. Which player of the Indian squad can you keep out of the squad? Every player on the team is talented enough. They have proved their mettle in the Indian team. Now the players are not in form, is BCCI responsible for this? The condition of the Indian team is bad now due to the poor performance of the batsmen.
The BCCI can now keep these players out of the team for a while and give new players a chance. Since they have not been in form for a long time. Besides, I don't think BCCI has anything else to do.
This series was a big blow to India's stake for sure. In first test they played like they have no competition and in rest of two they played as if they can't give competition. I think team India has faced such bad phases for a lot of times now already, suddenly all the best players go out of form and then BCCI brings in some new players from the bench who play really well but then the older folks come back in form to fill the slots, a few are able to get back their slots while rest are dropped. But India as a team does comes out of this phase. Anyone who is saying India's dominance is going to end hasn't seen the upcoming talent pool of India and the U-19, U-17 cricket tournaments in India.
1282  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who creates more impact in bitcoin price the Hodlers or Investors? on: January 14, 2022, 06:54:05 PM
The two main factors of bitcoin market hodlers and the investors sometimes I query myself about how much impact they have made in the price of bitcoin.

Note: The hodlers are early abductors of bitcoin that held their funds till date
The investors are the early abductors that sold and invested into their business then later invested their profits into bitcoin. E.g Michael Saylor or Elon Musk.
I think it doesn't matter who are you, what matters is the holding you have. The size of your holding makes you a whale and these whales combine their holdings and then make even more powerful moves in the market. These are the people who actually effect the price. A person who is just holding from the very start and has never sold will obviously not have any effect on the price directly but yes in a longer run these are the people creating scarcity of this resource so they just effect overall valuation of bitcoin, while investors and whales determine price movements and cycles.

The sudden Indian batting collapse surprised me. Pant was playing well after a long time, but no one could support him properly. The South African bowlers were on fire and they deserve a lot of praise for putting India on the backfoot.

India still has a decent chance at winning this test as long as they remove the in-form SA batsmen quickly. I wouldn't count them out just yet.
I think this is a lost affair now for India, SA just need 98 runs and they have full day, they can bat very defensively without taking any sort of risk and could easily score the remaining runs, early-stage wickets were the only thing that could save india but they didn't happen, india would definitely be looking at a radical change in their batting line up post this series.
1284  Economy / Economics / Re: US inflation jumped 7% in December as prices rise at rates unseen in decades on: January 13, 2022, 03:40:17 PM
A surprising thing for me is how during 1929 great depression dollar became very strong, this is strange because generally more money is printed during depressions to create demand in economy and despite that dollar strengthen, can anyone explain this?

In short, there was no money printing during the Great Depression, which combined with people and businesses defaulting on loans and banks having a desperate need for cash, in their liquidation spree the prices simply couldn't keep up, lowering the value of assets and making with each step the dollar stronger. But as you can see, one good indicator doesn't mean everything is good, just as a full tank won't get you anywhere if you have an engine failure.

The moral of the story, be careful what you wish for  Grin

If you had invested in 1965 $100 into SP500, you would have now $28,159.36, which is 28,059.36%, or 10.40% per year.
This huge! SP500 performance is amazing.

But, but ...but...everyone is saying you're going to lose money investing in the markets.
Of course, there is a difference between what poeple say and reality, just like you pointed out in the last line.

Oh yes I forgot that this indicator doesn't signify the strength of dollar but instead signifies the weakness of prices of commodities, great depression obviously brought down prices a lot, so obviously dollar purchasing power went up. But yes one indicator can't be a barometer of the whole economy. But if you see this indicator the most bullish times are indicating when dollar weakened the most.
1285  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Underrated Trading resources on: January 13, 2022, 03:37:25 PM
Excellent collection, we can definitely use this as a location where you collect all non nonsense channels relating to trading. Another one I would like to recommend is YouTube channel named cryptopoint Hindi on YouTube. This channel doesn't gives you a lot of trading signals but will teach you how to analyse charts and other quantitative data. Charts are mostly covered everywhere now, but the quantitative data is something which is more useful for markets.
1286  Economy / Economics / Re: If crypto trades are done off-chain, they are not real. The Economics of CEX's. on: January 13, 2022, 03:32:42 PM
If trades are done off-chain via a centralized database (i.e. Coinbase and Binance) then they are not real trades.  They are nothing more than accounting entries of an asset.  This is not true price discovery.

This also allows for manipulation of the said asset (crypto) that can be deleted with the strike of a keyboard button.

What are your thoughts on the economic impact of Centralized Exchanges?
Obviously everyone knows this, but still evryone prefers to trade on centralized exchanges due to a simple reason of ease. It's much easier and Swift to trade on a centralized exchange, while for trading on a Dex, one it's slow and second it's costly too especially if you are trading on Ethereum chain. If you are just an occasional trader go for Dex which do on chain trading otherwise going with Dex won't really be profitable for you.

Quote
US inflation jumped 7% in December as prices rise at rates unseen in decades

The price of goods and services in the US continue to rise at rates unseen in decades, jumping 7% in December compared to the same month last year – the seventh consecutive month in which inflation has topped 5%.

The news represents a blow to the Biden administration and the Federal Reserve, which until recently have characterized soaring prices as a “transitory” phenomenon brought about by supply chain issues triggered by the pandemic.

On Wednesday, the labor department said the consumer price index (CPI) – which measures what consumers pay for a wide range of goods – rose 0.5% last month compared with November and 7% compared with December 2020.

https://www.theguardian.com/business/2022/jan/12/us-inflation-rate-december-2021

United States is losing control over inflation. 7% is something similar to Brazil inflation, which was 10% last year. That is terrible.

I saw this chart today, showing how much purchasing power USD lost since 1912:

source: https://www.instagram.com/p/CYohEjmLE6q/ (Made by a Brazilian economist)

100 USD would have the same purchasing power as 3,53 USD did in 1912.

Central banks money printing strategy, public spending all those strategies are costing a lot to us, individuals. Our savings are shrinking due to high inflation all over the world.

I believe bitcoin was designed for this situation. Lets see how will it react.
7% is really way too much for any developed economy, it's dangerous because GDPs won't be rising at the same rate which means the expenses are rising but the incomes of the people are not rising creating problem for common people. A surprising thing for me is how during 1929 great depression dollar became very strong, this is strange because generally more money is printed during depressions to create demand in economy and despite that dollar strengthen, can anyone explain this?
1288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 12, 2022, 06:08:42 PM
India   VS   South Africa

India lost all their wickets for just 223 runs. But now the situation in South Africa is even worse. South Africa lost their seventh wicket for 176 runs. Petersen is still at the crease with 70 runs. Indian batsmen couldn't play well. If South Africa could have scored 300 runs, they would have won. But their batting is very bad. They may lose all their wickets before 200 runs. However, the chances of the match being drawn are slim. I think India is more likely to win.
Shami turned over the match with a superb bowling performance. Having two quick wickets was a great performance from Shami, who always gives his best for his team. India have won vital wickets so far as SA's 8th wicket has fallen. Things must be concluded. Bumrah hits the target. Even though everyone predicted that this was going to be a batsman's day, Indian bowlers had different plans. The odds even indicate a win for India. A draw is possible, but a lot of cricket remains. Let's see what happens.

South Africa Collection 209/9. Perhaps they will not be able to surpass India's run.
Despite the poor batting of the Indian batsmen, the performance of the Indian bowlers was outstanding. Only the performance of the bowlers has enabled India to fight for victory in this match. Bumrah has taken 4 wickets. Umesh Yadav and Shami both took two wickets each. Basically the bowling of all the bowlers in India was good today. Soon South Africa will lose all their wickets. And India will have a chance to bat again today.

We all thought that India showed a poor batting performance in the first innings by scoring only 223 runs. But now we see south
Africa showed an even worse batting display and were bowled out for mere 210 runs. Jasprit Bumrah got 5 wickets and was the highlight of the day.
At this moment, i will not call Indian favorites because if they again played poor in the second innings, this can give south Africa another chance to come back in the match.
I think south african pitches have average totals around this much only, also where the pace bowling attacks of both the sides are outstanding it's difficult to bat in south african conditions, even when Indian side made 223, I knew it's not that bad of a score which could make you lose the game, India needs to score something around 250-300 again which will be more than enough to win this match I think
1289  Local / India / Re: If BitCoin Was Legal In India on: January 12, 2022, 05:58:56 PM
I think if bitcoin was legal in India, the startup industry which already is booming would have been performing even better, there would have been hundreds of new startups that would come in. India wouldn't only have been a market and outsourcing center of the crypto exchanges instead it would have been the main powerhouse. I think still it's not too late, if india wants to see itself as a developed nation 10 years down the line I think it should think of legalizing bitcoin in India and regulating it, this would open ample opportunities in this space.
1290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the Metaverse a bubble? on: January 02, 2022, 06:37:44 PM
When basic technologies such as AR and VR are not yet mature, are all the metaverse projects in the market a bubble?

Can $SAND $MANA still be invested?
Definitely not! The world of metaverse isn't just a name sake philosophy, it aims at creating a versatile P2E modelled world where players earn when they play and the providers too earn when players play, players buy digital assets from what they earn and are happy living with those digital assets, if you think metaverse is a bubble I suggest you watch movie Ready player one, it will give you great insights on how metaverse could shape out.
1291  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Binance Received Regulatory Approval From Canada and Bahrain on: January 02, 2022, 06:34:52 PM
Very interesting how countries are giving a nod to bitcoin in every part of the world, I don't know if they are giving it willingly or it's just that they don't have any other option than to do this. I feel this might gives a lot of countries confidence about operating crypto exchanges in their country, for Binance it's a big win, first they negotiated with US to operate there after opening a separate exchange, now they have got the nod from Canada too, i think they are ensuring that they will always remain the number one exchange in the world.
1292  Economy / Economics / Re: New Year - The crypto economics on: January 02, 2022, 06:26:47 PM
Happy new year to all of us. (Asian region passed the timeline). I’m still on forum and that makes me think how addicted I am to crypto currencies and bitcointalk forum. Lolz. I can hear the fire crackers outside with happy moments situation.

Well, the reason for this topic is new year and how is our outlook of it for the financial side. I’m very obsessed with 2021 and how it turned everything upside down for the financial part of my life.

I have learnt great amount of deal coming 2021 in regards with how I invest and earn my money. The balance of your income sources is way important than your expenses and investment. In 2022, I have very importnst goal to achieve and that is to add another income sources into my existing list. This could be either e-commerce based on crypto currency payment availability. This is just to cherish the new year with crypto as well as my personal income source outlook.

I wanna know how you guys gonna react to your own “personal economic world”.  Tongue
What an excellent resolution I have to agree, probably we all should think of this and accomplish this, adding more streams of income is so important in today's world where you just don't have any cap over your expenses, one should always ensure that they have 4-5 sources of incomes at all times to mitigate the risk of losing your job or losing one source of your income.

I think that if I ever hit just one big win in crypto this year, I might be able to snowball it into big things and hopefully I will be able to do just that because I feel like with all my investments in 2021, I think that I might see some returns this year.
Everyone is expecting good potential of cryptocurrency this year 2022, everybody who invested last year 2021 is is on cool room praying for acceleration of cryptocurrency, because all hope is built Base another bullrun of cryptocurrency,my self is also expecting something huge this year, i know vividly that majority of people that knows Bitcoin have serious target to achieve more in cryptocurrency. It's good to invest and wait when the time will come for fruitfulness.

Everybody is up to make a big profit on crypto even last year. 2022 will have no difference but if the market goes below $40K, everyone will panic and sell.
I have my plans ahead but it still needs me working for it independently offline but earning just like having a regular job. I'm just going to keep holding my crypto because I'm not sure when the price will also push up. Waiting will be my game too.
I think apart from your investment you should look for other active ways, passive income i think should never be considered as a source of income it's just the additional cookies you are getting, ideally that is only the income that will make you rich but one should always focus on increasing the active income.
1293  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do we have trading chatroom exclusive for bitcointalk traders? on: January 02, 2022, 06:18:57 PM
Heya!

Does bitcointalk members have trading community chatroom (e.g, Dicord, Telegram)? I tried searching about this but it never gave me any useful results. Also, I don't want to spam the trading board for frequently asking short questions.

Thank you everyone!
I am not sure there is any such arena available for public because obviously if such groups are posted in open then scammers eventually reach these groups and start posting their shit and some free people talk so much that it makes the whole point of having that group useless. I suggest you should create one thread here in this board only, we can definitely request the mod to pin it, one thread for quick questions this way even the board won't get scammed.
1294  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Trading Bots on: January 02, 2022, 06:05:31 PM

We all know how volatile the crypto market is especially now. I have heard so much about crypto trading bots and their possibilities of automating the trading process and turning folks into crypto millionaires. For some of these bots, the user can program them to buy at predefined low and sell at a predefined high. I’m pretty skeptical about this maybe out of ignorance or just sheer human skepticism for stuff like this. Have you ever used a bot to automate your trading? Do you trust it enough to make the right decisions? If trading bots are as good as they claim, why are folks not using them as much as they should?
It's not that different from human trading, human traders generally use sort of triggers for their buy and sell, these triggers are some indicator values or crossovers, bots behave in the similar fashion, you have to input the same triggers into the program and the bot would just buy and sell at those points, there is not much difference except that no emotions means no reckless buying and selling, you are basically trading mathematically.
1295  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: January 02, 2022, 06:00:00 PM
~snip~
I think if ICC wants Cricket to be in Olympics, it has to ensure cricket spreads across Europe or the Americas, currently, cricket-playing nations are too skewed, 85% of them are from Asia & the African continent, only a few from here and there. The problem with popularising any sport per se is the viewership, cricket is a commercial sport unlike most Olympic sport, which means you need a good viewership for cricket in a country to make it a cricketing nation, but the problem is most of the countries don't even understand cricket, how in the world then you can popularise cricket there? One way is player migrations and the second better approach is to hold local cricket events in these countries, just like the couple of matches that happened in the US in form of a veteran league.
All they need to do is add more teams into t-20 icc tournaments but No, they won't! Because they don't want to repeat nightmares of 2007 WC and then they come up with 3 million bid in front of Olympic committee, which is modern term of bribe. No wonder Olympic committee doesn't take them seriously.

Ahan? I didn't know that story, why would the Olympic committee need money. From what I have heard they are already pretty rich, they take a huge cut from the host nation which organizes the Olympics and also take a good money in form of broadcasting rights and annual memberships, it's generally the host nation which ends up in most losses everytime, the IOC makes a lot.
There is an interesting move by ICC for inclusion of cricket in Olympics, ICC to make $3 million bid for cricket's inclusion in 2028 Olympics. We may see interest of more countries in cricket if it make its way to Olympics.
16 teams in T20 WC is also a big challenge, if ICC can include 3 or 4 more associate teams in next T20 WC that have good level it will be a big success.
ICC never been ideal Authority even now doing good for cricket into Olympics because they need some better planning and development from grassroots in many countries those are very good for cricket and can bring some very skills and quality players in future.

But, sadly they never use funds in this way, so we are losing many good countries in bad way like Kenya is the worst example for this, and now they have some good support for countries from where we never have any player like the UAE, Oman and Kuwait these are dead countries for quality and skill players, but sadly they are not understanding and still doing things which are never been favorable for game and fans.

I think that ICC still has time to recover from what has been done in the past. If ICC wants to include cricket in the '28 Olympics, they need to start working on getting at least 3 or 4 more teams to regular cricket. Although recently teams like Oman and UAE are playing enough cricket and there are some quality players, some more countries need to be included in there.

ICC has taken some missteps in the past but maybe including cricket in the Olympics could be good for the future of cricket in my opinion.

I am sure European countries will be able to understand cricket as England and ICC can easily promote it in neighbouring countries. The problem will be basically promoting cricket in the American continent as they will try to find similarities with baseball. But, if ICC is able to promote cricket in the European subcontinent then it will become easy for ICC to spread cricket globally and especially in the American subcontinent.

I am really surprised sometimes that how come England created the sport of cricket and weren't even able to spread the sport throughout their own continent, if they have not been able to do it for last 100 years, I really doubt they will ever be able to do it.

A new oral antiviral drug from Pfizer has now approved emergency authorization on Wednesday, 22/12/2021. This medication is recommended to high risk patients, and it's said to be available within the week. It has been approved for patients above 12 years old, with mild to moderate Covid-19 symptoms and should be prescribed as soon as possible after diagnosis, and within 5 days.

The rollout of this new tool against Covid-19, is coming at a crucial point of the pandemic, with the new Omicron variant being now the dominant strain, while along with the approved vaccines, the condition should gradually improve.

Source:
https://www.cnbc.com/2021/12/22/fda-authorizes-pfizers-covid-treatment-pill-the-first-oral-antiviral-drug-cleared-during-the-pandemic.html
I am surprised with the audacity of Pfizer as a healthcare company, first, they lobbied for their RNA vaccines all around the world in name of highly effective vaccines, when the world thought these vaccines are effective and were about to use them, they brought up the booster shot idea which was wild. We all know the rush that we people went through to ensure we get vaccines ASAP. Now apart from the preventive actions they have successfully lobbied an antiviral drug that too with very minimal test results, and not the only US but the UK to have approved this. If after all these things the situation doesn't improve then I think all these are just the money-minting techniques these companies are carrying out.

1298  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which trading strategy would be a good start for new traders? on: January 01, 2022, 08:29:28 PM
I'm in beginner stage at trading . Recently I loose about 80$ . It is a  huge amount for me . But I wanna try again
Now I need some advice for me . I also have some questions about trading.

1.My 1st question is about which trading strategy  is good for a new traders ? I mean short term  or long term.

2.  In short-term trading, when to buy and when to sell ?

3.  In short-term trading, do I need to sell the coin  on the day ?

I hope these questions answer and advise could help me to know some good things about trading and helping to choose the right trading strategy at this stage  and others like me.

I think for new traders longer-term trading is always better than doing short-term trading. The reason is simple it's hard to control your emotions when you are sitting all the time in front of your PC, while it's relatively easy to control it in long-term trading. Talking about strategies that you need to create buy or sell triggers, First of all, learn a set of indicators that you want to use in your trading, experiment with settings of these indicators or other indicators whichever suits your style the best, backtest and forward test the same and you are good to go. Short term at least in crypto doesn't always mean selling on the same day. It just means selling in a short span of time can be a day or two.
1299  Local / India / Re: Top Cryptocurrency Providers In India Raided By Tax Officials: Report on: January 01, 2022, 06:55:16 PM
First, the government is not able to bring in any law relating to cryptocurrencies, then they are not having any proper tax law governing cryptocurrency, and even after that they try to hunt down exchanges who are doing evasions, the problem is even if the exchanges would be paying GST. Department would still argue taking their own explanation of the law and blaming the exchanges of the wrongdoing. But yes, there is one good thing in all this, if governments start to get their share of the revenue from the crypto trading world they will surely not think of making it illegal.

It's known to all that, binance is world's largest crypto exchange, founded by Changpeng Zhao in 2017. Recently they compulsory kyc but still everyone talks much about binance than other exchange. But today i want to know those 5 best exchanges you trust after binance, where you got best trading experience, Suitable for trade and you want to suggest those to your friends and others people
Coinbase, Kucoin, Huobi, FTX and bitfinex. Bitfinex is in the list only because it is very old and thus has a very good track record as a trusted exchange, rest of the exchanges are relatively newer and have been involved in various allegations already. In terms of trust coinbase is supreme but obviously it's more of a wallet than a proper exchange. Talking about KYC, I don't think it's a very big issue these days, people are okay with KYC these days they just want security and stability in exchange.
