Ok, so what is the plan for networking the hell out of SOG when it releases?

The SOG official forum is completely dead http://www.moonga.com/board2/index.php/forum/61-general-discussion/

I presume everyone in this thread wants SOG to succeed so how do we all plug into the overall Marketing strategy besides just downloading the game, and buying our own cards...

Has anyone started a SOG or Card wiki?
Should we be pushing people to a new forum or the official SOG forum?
How well will SOG transfer within the Magic scene, should we be reaching out to Magic owners and pushing the game to them, I presume yes?
There are Magic gaming communities, how well will SOG transfer into those communities from a social gaming perspective... maybe not at all?
What about starting Clubs, a non-EDS forum, leaderboards
How do people gain utility out of ownership outside of the game (pride and bragging about assets)....
Streaming tutorials... not sure how this would even work
How does asset exchange work within the game or does it?

I believe the team must have made plans for marketing at launch and thereafter, this is not their first game.
The forum is a Moonga forum which has been used so far for some minor partner and premium member discussion.
A new forum dedicated to SoG should be good, however having more than one forum? Not sure if that would create more confusion than anything else.

You got some valid points there but I think the strategy and the tools should come from the team.
It's wonderful to see so much passion, don't get me wrong, however I personally wouldn't want to put pressure on the team with these things at this stage.
I rather them concentrating on the game delivery first.

Community members, players and supporters are free to promote the game as they please of course.

I will wait and see what the team comes up with and follow their channels for directions and strategy. Then will do my best to promote the game in every way possible.

Soooo looking forward to the launch!!! Can't wait!  Smiley

I think it's a good idea just in case some of the other online wallets or services stop supporting mini private keys.
It will also be useful for people new to physical bitcoins and non-technical folks.

1288  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Introducing the BitPiece! - PM for funding! on: September 08, 2016, 07:49:51 PM
I received coins #15 and #18 nearly two months after ordering them. We thought they were lost in transit but they arrived to my surprise. The tracking was never updated so no way of figuring out where they were.

However they were supposed to be funded and since we thought they were lost I have received a refund from Miffman.
2 months later I don't have coins to fund them. Miffman has been helping with the post office all the way along.

So I'd keep the coins but want to make sure people are aware that 2 coins have addresses in the back and are not labelled empty.
Just in case they get sold in the future (which I'm not planning).

The coin addresses are:

18  1NWozzdSzD7J5RLL2UYKWThtUJ4aonXc6E

1294  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Verifying Bitcoin Core on: September 06, 2016, 09:20:50 AM

That's because your file is wrong.

This line is incorrect:
Code:
54606c9a4fd32b826ceab4da9335d7a34a380859fa9495bf35a9e9c0dd9b6298  bitcoin-0.13.0-win64.2d61f88621301bbb00512376287f9df4568255f8b98bc10547dced96c8  bitcoin-0.13.0-x86_64-linux-gnu.tar.gz

It should really be these two lines:
Code:
54606c9a4fd32b826ceab4da9335d7a34a380859fa9495bf35a9e9c0dd9b6298  bitcoin-0.13.0-win64.zip
bcc1e42d61f88621301bbb00512376287f9df4568255f8b98bc10547dced96c8  bitcoin-0.13.0-x86_64-linux-gnu.tar.gz

That's because the files themselves are not pgp signed and do not have any signatures.

Yes that is all you need to trust that the .dmg is the right file.

Thanks for the help. I see were I went wrong now! Smiley

...

What i try to understand is,  how all Blockchain Cards are splittet for purchase, whats the mechanism?  is it arbitrariness ?  How does that work?

Shouldnt be there a clear procentuel Amount ,  like  25 % to Everdreamsoft, 5 % to company Members, and 70 % for the open Market.

But atm. you dont see any source and evd. is holding the biggest amount and some cards are puchased with private addresses, isnt it legit to ask for?

I think what you dont understand atm is,  that the value of Bitchristals are transfered to the product "Blockchain Cards" with every Burn of BTY.   That means if Evd. is holding the majority of cards  (over 50, 60 %)  than it is like premining. The hole Value of BTY will be transfered to the Cards.

Now,  please explain me the mechanism, for me it seems and feel like throwing with crumbs for the crowd.

There are set amounts of cards to be put for sale for partners, then whichever other Merchant they go on sale thereafter.

I mentioned to look at the blog earlier and there is a post that describes how it all works with percentages.

http://spellsofgenesis.tumblr.com/post/141656034650/spells-of-genesis-stores-become-merchants

Read it up it should clear a few things up. No team member holds any percentage of cards unless they buy it like everyone else, stock that is saved for future sales is entirely held by EverdreamSoft.

Before you keep going on making assumptions you have to understand that the game has not launched yet, and EDS is doing what every other company would do:
hold on to cards to be sold after the game launch and thereafter. There is no premine, new cards are issued once a week right now and the way distribution works has been more or less the same
since the token sale when Partners and Premium members joined the scene. Everyone involved since a while knows exactly how it works and by the way sales are going people seems to be happy.
If and when there is a need to make a change EDS writes up an update or a survey and asks the community and partners before implementing it as it has happened in the past.

When you say private addresses (and I explained you this before) it means EDS is selling cards to Partners, Premium members and the Public.
Some Partners buy up to 50 cards at the time or more and guess what? These are all private addresses Smiley
On the other end EDS may have some internal addresses to allow various team members to operate the different swapbots but that shouldn't be any of yours or anyone elses business.
They should be able to use and distribute cards as best as they can to streamline operations and maximize profits.

Also don't forget that stock will be needed once the game launches because at that point, if all goes well, there will be thousands of new players onboard and some of these will want to collect all the cards too.
So in my opinion EDS is operating in the best way possible to cater for the influx of new users in the future. Most cards are issued in numbers between 800 and 1200, now imagine if there are 10,000 players just after launch, will there be demand for old cards? What if there are 50,000 or more? Shouldn't EDS have some reserve stock for that in your opinion?

Cards are only the beginning of what you can buy with BCY, there will be other game assets available, merchandise, they will be used to reward people for tournaments and gosh knows what else...
You can even rent shared office space at EDS' headquarters in Geneva right now with BCY. So saying that they all go into cards is wrong.
EDS has always been clear that they would allow any other game producer who wants to to use their system, including token, cards, etc...
They are even building a platform together with IndieSquare to make it a breeze for anyone interested to spin up game assets using Counterparty.
Force of Will is scheduled to be the first physical trading card game to start using the platform to digitize assets for their new App.

You need to be patient and give time to time you can't have all your answers right now as the game is still in development.
I understand you came late to the party as many others who only start following projects when the coin increases in price and there is a bit of buzz.
If that is the case well... Sorry to hear but that is your problem don't make it everyone elses.

Once again, read up the blogpost above and the rest which contains everything you need to know about SoG, cards, etc and it's publicly available.

Try to save it to a file and verify its contents. Just add its filename to the end of the command.

Example: gpg --verify example.txt

Ok I tried saved the below text to a txt file:

And this is what came up:

Code:
gpg --verify test.txt
gpg: Signature made Tue 23 Aug 15:23:26 2016 BST using RSA key ID 36C2E964
gpg: BAD signature from "Wladimir J. van der Laan (Bitcoin Core binary release signing key) <laanwj@gmail.com>" [unknown]

However how do I actually check the .dmg file that contains the installer is the right one?

If I run:

Code:
gpg --verify bitcoin-0.13.0-osx.dmg

I get:

Code:
gpg: no valid OpenPGP data found.
gpg: the signature could not be verified.
Please remember that the signature file (.sig or .asc)
should be the first file given on the command line.

Because it expects a signature file.

And if I use the file that has the signatures that you can download from https://bitcoin.org/bin/bitcoin-core-0.13.0/SHA256SUMS.asc, I get:

Code:
gpg --verify SHA256SUMS.asc
gpg: Signature made Tue 23 Aug 15:23:26 2016 BST using RSA key ID 36C2E964
gpg: Good signature from "Wladimir J. van der Laan (Bitcoin Core binary release signing key) <laanwj@gmail.com>" [unknown]
gpg: WARNING: This key is not certified with a trusted signature!
gpg:          There is no indication that the signature belongs to the owner.
Primary key fingerprint: 01EA 5486 DE18 A882 D4C2  6845 90C8 019E 36C2 E964

gpg: WARNING: This key is not certified with a trusted signature!
gpg:          There is no indication that the signature belongs to the owner.

Doesn't inspire 100% confidence... Maybe that's how it's supposed to come up?

So I did run the below first as suggestend in the OP:

Code:
shasum -a 256 bitcoin-0.13.0-osx.dmg

And got the right shasum.

If I have that right together with the last output above from checking the signatures, is that all I need to trust the .dmg file is genuine?

Thanks for the help in advance, this is good learning, and thanks to theymos for the heads up note on top of this forum! Smiley

It is working now, it wasnt several hours before, maybe my fault.

But please explain me all this transactions to a private address from issuer adresses.

https://blockscan.com/address/18HfRiUQaqJrJXxnqF3VmynG4XcbCHKxfE

And additional to that,  why is everdreamsoft holding the majority of cards and isnt offering it to the market from the beginning? Its legit to ask for and any person with brain should ask whats going on here,  is all legit? smells abit.

EverdreamSoft (EDS) is holding stock for themselves as the game hasn't even launched officially yet and the secondary market is still developing.
If they intend to sell more cards after the game is launched is their decision and they can do it at the price they want.
At the end of the day this is a game and EDS is a for profit company not an Open Source project so they are supposed to make money.

Also by having extra stock they could even sell card packs to people interested to get their collection kickstarted quickly, this is me speculating.
Cards can be used for promotions, giveaways, bounties, etc as it happened in the past.

This is the second trading card game for EverdreamSoft so they must know a thing or two on how to sell cards and how many to sell and when to maximise adoption and profits.

Also you can get free cards just by playing the game so no one is forced to buy cards if they don't want to.
However I'm a collector and I like to buy them.

As others mentioned here cards are sold on EDS own Merchants (Swapbots), there are 3 of them:

The above are the official places to buy cards right now from EDS.

Anywhere else, including swapbots, DEX, and other online stores are part of the secondary market.

Transactions going from the issuer address may go to EDS swapbot addresses and/or Partners and Premium Members' addresses who purchase them from EDS' swapbots.
Also EDS has been doing many collaborations with different projects and companies and in some cases some cards are allocated to these third parties.

You can't just come here after hundreds of people have been playing the game and purchasing cards for over a year and throw accusations left and right like you did.

Before you can even speak you need to do your own research, learn about how things work, then make your own judgement.
Or at least ask nicely: hey why is this happening? Why is it done this way?

Everyone can follow the blockchain, and thanks for that because that's the whole purpose of making blockchain-based game assets, as well as owners of these assets
can do as they please with them.

If you are really interested to learn more and follow SoG closely I recommend you join the community Slack: https://spellsofgenesis.signup.team/.

There are a lot of resources to get you started too:

Also https://sogassets.com is a great third-party resource for card stats of all kinds and their availability on the DEX and Swapbots.

The team can also expand on this further, I'm only sharing my opinion and what I know seen I have been following the project since its inception and love it. Smiley

Hope this answers your question.
