With the experience Guardiola has I think Man City will remain strong for the season. They have provided strong evidence in the last season. Although today they have different players, but their quality is better. So I think the reason for the busy schedule won't make Man City bad.
Indeed, there are always many possibilities, this is because there are still quite a lot of matces. There are about twenty-four games still left for the EPL. Indeed at the moment Newcastle and Totenham are obvious threats. Their gap is very slim a one-time mistake would allow Man City to drop the rankings.
Manchester City has everything including quality to remain strong and contend for the trophy this season. Guardiola is so experienced and understands the game so well and how to win the league. The schedule for games will be tight and Manchester City also have a good squad depth to rotate available players to manage the tidius fixtures.

Right now money determines whether the team will be the best team or not, without lots of money, of course it is difficult to build a team that is truly perfect in the current era of football, now we have seen how money is the main factor for a team to be strong, like as Newcastle is currently starting to improve and it is possible that Newcastle will become a strong competitor in the Premier League, the Premier League will start next week and we will be able to enjoy the intense competition from the most competitive league later and I hope that Manchester City will be able to put strong pressure on the arsenal which is currently at the top of the standings.
Manchester City's top form and performance in the league has now become a trade mark and  tradition. They have the quality to execute the job and be in the top four and I think that just explains how they have managed to dominate the league for 4 out of 5 seasons. I also don't think the busy schedules will cause a break down in performance for Manchester city after the break. 5 points gap is not so much and I won't write City off at this point even with the gap from Arsenal.

PSG has always been believed to win everything, especially in the Champions League because there are many star players in the squad but that didn't break them so they had to be eliminated by Real Madrid, but this time PSG was also tested quite hard against Bayern Munich at this stage even me I think PSG should be able to surpass this match, especially since several important Bayern Munich players are injured, it will be a good opportunity for PSG, apart from several players Mbappe and Neymar have led their team to the World Cup final.
I just want to see how PSG have to go on after spending a lot of money on star players, if they fail again it means PSG haven't found their identity in the UCL.
PSG is clearly well decorated club in UEFA with having the biggest quality players pool and luxury of funds through Arab connections but still there is nothing predictable about their future in Champions League because they are doing their best for this title but sadly having nothing positive in last few years, but now situation is completely different for them because their opponent is having issues and their frontline is clearly working better which is positive development for them if they are able to beat Bayern Munich then surely this could be best ever thing for them and improve their chances for the win in this event but still they also have to wait for few other results as well because few more teams are having enough quality for win the race.
When you talk about wealthy clubs there is no way of missing out PSG, PSG is a very wealthy club, they have the financial power and influence in the world of football and in terms of squad quality they have the beat players in the world, Messi, Neymar, Mbappe, Hakimi etc but the sad thing is with all these top players they find it so difficult to achieve the Champions league trophy. They will try again this season to win it.

Honestly I don't think Griezmann is playing that much bad at Atletico Madrid now. He has had quite nice amount of assists and goals so far. He can do better than this of course but I still find it enough considering his playing style. He likes to be helpful for his teammates at the same time. He isn't a striker who is fully focused on only scoring goals.

Manchester United would make use of a beneficial player like him honestly. However I wonder how much he would cost them. Because if he doesn't adapt well to the team they might have difficulties in selling him. He isn't young anymore so there wouldn't be many teams willing to pay a lot of money for his wage. Maybe a loan deal might be thought of for Manchester United.

Manchester united need a new talented striker who can display what Messi and Mbappe displayed in the FIFA world cup competition, and they are ready to pay any amount of money to sign such player into the team. I don't think, Griezmann is good for that position because his performance in his formal team Barcelona was not too good before he moved to Atletico Madrid which will be some disadvantage that will make Manchester united coach not to sign him. If Manchester united coach can be able to get a new talented striker before next month, I think, they will definitely drag the first position with Manchester city before the end of this tournament.
Every club wants a striker like Messi, Ronaldo and Mbappe that is why clubs like Real Madrid, Manchester City and PSG rush in at any chance they get at any new prospect and splash the cash to get them at all cost. To get such a striker in the market today requires so much efforts and big money spending to get them to join your team. Manchester United need more fire power to succeed this season especially in the attacking role and creativity in the midfield.

Mirror says that Frenkie de Jong has told Erik ten Hag about his being willing to join for Manchester United now.

However this doesn't seem convincing news to me. Because it didn't seem like de Jong was that much eager to leave last summer. A couple of teams were rumoured with him then. Manchester United even negotiated terms with Barcelona but they couldn't agree on the transfer fee. de Jong didn't say even for once like he wanted to leave. Xavi also said that he would like to see him in the lineup. And now he is still a regular player in the starting eleven. While he doesn't have any problem with his playing time and Barcelona are in a better condition than Manchester United also, I don't see any reason for de Jong to wish to leave suddenly.

https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/manutd-dejong-transfer-tenhag-barcelona-28761691
This doesn't sound convincing either, this is a player that Manchester United have been monitoring and following even before the summer and Frankie de Jong Manchester United's proposal a couple of times before, how then is he suddenly wanting Manchester United all of a sudden. I think this rumor shouldn't be taken seriously. Griezmann to Manchester United would be a good one if it can be done.

I'm so glad the world cup has finally come to an end. Returning from the break is accompanied by tough games in the La liga. Barcelona are going against Espanyol, this is a tough fixture but I believe Barcelona will win this one and face Atletico Madrid in the next game and with the Europa league coming so fast, this will be a really difficult one for Barcelona.
1286  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: December 20, 2022, 11:32:06 AM
Exactly. Manchester United can use their transfer budget much more effective normally. But they have spent so much money for players who don't deserve that actually. Maguire is the first example coming to my mind. They spent a lot of money to sign Antony as well but we don't know how much he will be helpful for the team in the long-term.

I think the same about ten Hag. He isn't a special manager for Manchester United in the end. If he has a similar season to the previous one than he should get ready to say goodbye to his job. The same thing happened to Solskjaer as well.
This is just the first start for Ten Hag so it's still in the process of improving Manchester United even though the management has spent a lot of money on players but indeed that hope is still not satisfied plus they are now lacking a striker there is a possibility that in the January transfer market Ten Hag can spend on players but that it is not certain which one to choose, but the fact is that spending a lot of money is not in accordance with helping the team to be better.

Actually I put my hopes on Ten Hag, but if we evaluate it now, there hasn't been any change at all. Maybe after two seasons at Manchester United, we will know how Ten Hag's character carries his team.
Ten hag has done relatively well since he joined Manchester United compared to the previous manager, he has managed to changed the mentality and team spirit, and also he’s been able to show his superiority in the locker room at the expense of Ronaldo. Manchester United will be fine without Ronaldo, after all they manage to wins many games without Ronaldo. The transfer window will certainly give them chance to recruit new players to further improve the team.

Every coach should have a fairly broad view like Graham Potter, he buys players who can fill in several positions and not just one position, so when the match feels difficult he can set a strategy by entering players who can fill these various positions and Nkunku is the best option so far, but I don't think chelsea will be satisfied with just one player, they will definitely buy more players in the future.
it is difficult to get players who can play in several positions at this time so when Chelsea managed to bring in Nkunku of course it was a fortune, being able to play in various positions would certainly make it very easy for the Graham Potter to formulate the right strategy for Chelsea game, the arrival of Nkunku I think will be able to replace the position who was left by Lukaku or maybe Potter will prefer to play Nkunku in a midfield position later, while playing at Leipzig Nkunku has played a very important role and I think next summer he will give the same thing to Chelsea later.
Nkunku will likely be an upgrade to Chelsea's attack when he finally joins and with the right strategies and right position he will be able to reach his full potential at Chelsea when he joins. I see how much of a plan Graham Potter and the new club owner have for the club and with time things will get a lot better than they are now. I think Graham Potter should be given more time to put this plan in place to achieve good results.

Despite the rough start to the season for Liverpool they have shown glimpse of hope that the season will not end entirely bad. Before the break they managed to win some of their games and so far Jurgen Klopp looks confident to turn things around and good a thing the club has his backing. Hopefully the transfer window will give them a boost if the make signings and help turn things around immediately.
1290  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 19, 2022, 07:24:53 PM

Manchester United have brought in some players based on their performance previously and that has not worked out very well for them. To date, they have brought in Harry Maguire and Romelo Lukaku, but both have been ineffective. I think Manchester United should not just look at recent performances and throw away money to get the player. They would be wise to make wise decisions about which players to invest in.

I don't think they should spend so much money on this player. If they can bring in a player who is a free agent and can play well, it is going to be more than helpful for them. But I don't think there are many free agents who will be able to play well and have smooth coordination with the other players on the team. The same is true for players because everything worthwhile is going to cost money.

Although Man utd have bought players with huge money and they end up been flop but you can't blame it on them only and ask them to go for free agents. In football some players find it hard to live up to hype when in top clubs, some turn out to be injury prones all this happens in every club. The times I blame clubs on some transfer is when it is base on nepotism just like Man utd favouring English players or because a coach is too adamant on bringing in a particular player when they are better options available. But over rall buying young talents or even Marquee signings looks like a gamble. The best is to build your own academy players which seems hard in modern football. Clubs are eager to get results and they tend not to trust there academic graduates more or even offer them time
I don’t think going for free agents is the best idea but free agents are no bad either because some free agents played out their contract and wanted a new challenge, they are not free because they weren't good enough. I only criticize Manchester United because most of their choice signings are based on hype and that is what they go for believing that the hyped players are the best.

I still can't believe that he is not moving to Al-Nassr, those guys offered him 500 million euro for 2.5 years, that is 200 million a year, how could anyone reject that? I get that he likes his freedom and being in Al-Nassr would mean that he would have to follow their culture or it would be a big trouble for him, all of which means even his family would be pressured into living the way they live unless they want risk, so that type of thing is a scary thing or could be at least and I understand that.

However, we are talking about FIVE HUNDRED MILLION EUROS! that is good enough to literally do whatever you are told to do, just way too much money to reject.
I don’t think it’s about the money for Ronaldo, the most important thing to him is legacy. Ronaldo could have had a smooth transition to retirement from football if he gone to Manchester City instead he was swayed to join United. In addition to Portugal losing out of the World Cup, the year hasn’t been good for Ronaldo and knowing how competitive he is, he would want to prove to his critics that he is still the best. That’s why moving to Al-Nassr will be an impossible thing for him to do. I have heard rumors that Newcastle may be in talks with his agent for a possible transfer deal. Newcastle from last season have been picking up from a poor form to a historical form this season and in the course of their development they have recruited quite some experienced players and if Ronaldo joins will give them an extra boost going forward so I will opt for this move if it were on the table. Who knows if Newcastle could finish in top four position this season and qualify to compete in the Champions league.

I have a feeling Manchester City are much more interested in winning the Champions League this time. That's why I believe they are a few points behind in the English Premier League table. Honestly, they are not that much behind because the point difference between them and Arsenal is not that much. I predict Arsenal will lose a few matches and Manchester City will be able to catch up with Arsenal during that period of time.

You know, Arsenal has a few tough matches coming up, especially against Tottenham and Manchester United. I suspect Arsenal is going to drop points in those matches. And that is going to be the chance for Manchester City to get back to the first position on the table.

You know, the Premier League Trophy is just as important as the Champions League Trophy. and that also applies to Manchester City, even though they always target to win the Champions League trophy. the real fact is, Manchester City slipped in two matches out of 14 matches. they have two draws, and 2 defeats against Liverpool and Brenford. and I guess, not something on purpose.  because of that, Arsenal was able to keep their distance from The Citizen.

In short, Arsenal is currently at the top of the Premier League standings even though it is only 5 points adrift with Manchester City. not something that is difficult for City to overtake, because after all the Premier League schedule still has a lot of matches. moreover, currently the Gunners are in trouble. The loss of a central striker meant that Arteta had to move quickly to find a ready replacement in Grabriel Jesus' position. I am still optimistic, if Arteta brings in a suitable newcomer this January. Arsenal still have a big chance of winning the Premier League trophy.
The champions league has eluded Manchester City for long. They have won the premier league four times in just 5 years and currently the defending champions. They have pretty much dominated the epl, they have their eyes set on the champions league trophy as well as the premier league trophy this year. The only competition they have in the EPL right now is Arsenal. Arteta will have to bring in new signings to strengthen the team for them to maintain the number 1 position in the epl. I think Arsenal have been extraordinary this season and their fans will be hoping to win the premier league or the Europa league.
1293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: December 19, 2022, 07:10:17 AM
A player like Ronaldo still belongs in the CL with his level, right? It's not as good as it used to be, but it's still good enough for certain teams in the CL. I don't think Real Madrid will want him back either. If he starts playing football in Qatar, he can play in the Asian CL. Also a nice level, but you don't have to see full stadiums there. I don't think Ronaldo is going there yet? Could he also consider going to a club with a slightly lesser status such as Chelsea to still play CL?
No chance for him as even chelsea already rejected a rumour about his transfer to the club. This time ronaldo is still looking for a new club to play with. He has not yet got any offer from the club. It seems like that al nassr may become his new place rather than going to the big club but he will be rarely playing for the club. He has the biggest fan base in the world but remember that he can't deny if he was become even older than before. His time has come and he must accept if these days the football team rarely interested with the old player like him.
I think Ronaldo should forget the English premier league and focus his attention on a smaller league like the Arabian league where he was offered a huge money deal, I think that should be the best decision for him at this point but all good as well if he finally gets a Newcastle deal in the coming weeks, outside that I would prefer the Al nassr deal where he gets enough playing time and more experience in a new place. I don’t think he needs to play in the epl just to prove that Manchester United wasn’t his fault.

After watching the World Cup finals. I was so in my emotions yesterday I couldn’t even make a post. After much waiting and anticipation joint with the tension of this game, Argentina and Messi are finally the world champions. This is a dream come through for Messi and all of his fans. I love Ronaldo and I don’t think this settle the GOAT debate, but my God, Messi is a very good footballer just looking at the zeal and how he drives his side to achieve great things. As we close the chapter to two of the greatest footballers of all time we open a page to a new one. Congratulations to the young star Kylian Mbappe, his performance was outstanding I was amazed how he managed to put up an amazing show in the game after Giroud was taken off in the match to give way for a more physical players to come in cause it looked like the Argentina players were too strong for them to hold back in the first half. Both teams gave us a final we wouldn’t forget. And I bow goodbye to this most interesting thread. Till next time

I think Manchester City does a good job. Because they rely on Erling Haaland only for goals. The others supply the ball to him and he is trusted to do the finishing job. And he’s doing the job quite well. I think Manchester City have excellent teamwork. The problem is that during certain matches they are not being able to perform as they should. Just like the match against Liverpool. Liverpool was not in very good shape, but Manchester City still lost against Liverpool.

I also agree that Erling Haaland is the most successful or at least one of the most successful transfers that Manchester City have made recently. At least this is far better compared to what they did when they brought in Jack Grealish for 100 million.
Manchester are a good team far better with Guardiola as the manager. I think they are doing a really good job putting together are very sophisticated and strong team in the English league. Erling Haaland's introduction has also strengthened their attack even more as he gives them that confidence and sharpness going forward which he executes so well. When the money is there it is easier to put the team to preferred standard to compete at all levels and win trophies.

Goncalo Ramos is a young player who has great potential. It seems that he is putting on a decent performance at the moment.
The problem with him is that despite his talent, I doubt he will be able to match that performance with Manchester United since he will be facing much bigger and better opponents.
It doesn't seem like there is any reality where he will be able to successfully replace Cristiano Ronaldo.

And, there is no indication that Manchester United are that concerned about bringing him in. In my opinion, he is not capable of filling the void left by Cristiano Ronaldo. Manchester United will have to bring in a better player who will be a reliable goal-scorer. As a first step, Manchester United will need to solve the problems between the authorities and the players in order to move forward.
I feel like buying a player just after a world cup because of a few good games is not a good idea. Look at James Rodriguez, dude got to Real Madrid with just one superb world cup tournament but we have not seen him do well at all after that.

It could be said that Goncalo played a great world cup as well but we have seen him play in 5 games, and that is not enough to just buy a player. United needs someone who has been consistently great, plus if they are going to pay that much money then it would be smarter to get someone who has proven themselves in premier league before. I think it would be smart to look for someone who is 28 or older and just get a free agent instead.
Some players have proved unworthy in past years after been purchased on the basis of one season or one world cup outing wonder, they flop the next season. I won't blame any club that decides not to sign players because of their one off outstanding performance,it is not good for business. Manchester United need to sign players who will stand the test of time and stay consistent year to year not just in the world cup.
1297  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: December 17, 2022, 09:40:38 PM
Sure, Karim Benzima will stay at Real Madrid this season because there is no serious talk of him leaving the club anytime soon; he is happy in Madrid and will likely stay there until his retirement because Real Madrid has turned him into a great player. He is the best player in the world, and that recognition was achieved by Benzima in Real Madrid, so they did very well to keep him to this point. I believe they need a strong striker like Napoli's Oshimen as his replacement before releasing him.
Of course, Benzema feels happy and comfortable playing in Real Madrid. I never heard a rumor about Benzema leaving Real Madrid. I'm surprised when I read some comments about Benzema staying or leaving. In my opinion, no doubt that Benzema to stay in Real Madrid, maybe until he retires from his professional career.

Yep, since Benzema often gets injured, Real Madrid needs another top striker. Mbappe, Osimhen, or Harry Kane seems fit to be Real Madrid striker, but I don't know if Real Madrid will have a chance to sign these players. They are the main strikers in their current clubs and their market prices are expensive. These factors may be a serious obstacle to signing them.

In my opinion, Karim Benzema would be the last person to leave this Real Madrid squad. If I'm not wrong he has been at the club since 2009 and we have witnessed him play under the shadow of players like Gonzalo Higuaín or Cristiano Ronaldo.

We have seen him at his lowest point when he scored five goals and we have also seen him at his highest point when he has scored more than 25 to 30 goals in a season. As of right now, I think he is really happy to be part of Real Madrid. I hope that he will continue to do so for the rest of his career.
It is so obvious Benzema is loyal to Real Madrid and he’s a fanboy at heart. He has given his best efforts to the club for years now and contributed immensely to the success of the club in the domestic league and also in the Champions league, if his wish is to retire at the club I think it is only fair to grant him his wishes after all he deserves it, we will see if his wish would be granted or declined.

A lot of new signing is on the way after the world cup and the transfer window open up, I am hoping that some of the young players who have showcased their talent during the World cup will finally get signed to reputable clubs where they can continue to build their career. La liga next season will witness new vibes from those players that are produced from the current formations
Some of the La Liga clubs are waiting for the fair-play announcement to see how much they could spend. Barcelona is very limited and cannot spend much after their expensive summer. They are planning to add another sponsor which is this time WhiteBIT, maybe more are planned too.
The financial status of Barcelona is not stable and I think they may be reluctant to spend in the transfer window. Real Madrid on the other hand are a very rich team and are capable of getting any player of their choice just like PSG and Manchester city. They also have a good and effective team of scouts who have been doing a marvelous job brining in talented players who have helped the team grow and achieve so much in past years. Benzema's return will surely be a boost to the team's morale and confidence to win games and that will pose a problem to Barcelona's title hopes.

Manchester City are said to have transferring Bellingham and Saka in their plans. However especially Bellingham rumour doesn't seem sensible to me. Because Manchester City don't need such player in their midfield now. Their midfield is already very strong. There is no need to splurge on another youngster. This transfer would just cause some unease among the attacking midfielders especially. The number of alternatives will be so many and Guardiola can have difficulty in making all the talented players satisfied.

Saka transfer can be good actually because they have only one player on each wing as natural wingers now - Mahrez and Grealish. But Arsenal would demand a lot of money for Saka as he is one of the crucial players for them.

If Saka is transferred to Manchester City, Arsenal will also be weakened. Manchester City will throw one stone and hit two birds if they make this transfer. Bayern Munich were using the same transfer methods to weaken Borussia Dortmund. This method is a good tactic in terms of squad planning, but it will be a bad transfer for us as it will end the competition in the league. On the other hand, I think Jude Bellingham is a better football player than Saka. If Manchester City sign Jude Bellingham, they will expand their squad and intensify the competition. Jude Bellingham is a young and talented football player. He had a great assist in that Senegal match. I think this transfer will be positive for Manchester City if it happens.
Saka is one of the young players in the English league with future prospects. Saka is an important player and an important asset to the club therefore losing him at this point in his career will be a huge lose and will be avoided at all cost. If Dortmund want to sell out Bellingham it is up to them, after all it has been in their nature to sell their talented players for profit it's no longer new.

Liverpool are no less than 15 points behind league leaders Arsenal. That says a lot about the current form of Liverpool and the last few months. Perhaps things went wrong at the start of the season, even after the big defeat against Napoli in Italy. the teams from place 3 are all quite close to each other in the ranking. Liverpool should be able to finish at least 3rd with this selection. How to estimate Newcastle is difficult. It is a bit like the Leicester team that became champions a few years ago in terms of strength.

I still can't forget about the legendary season Manchester City had in the Premier League. They were in a similar condition to Liverpool's current one but they climbed the positions one by one and even got a comfortable championship by opening a quite big gap with their closest rival.

Maybe it is too much to ask from Liverpool to do a similar thing in this season. Because it is a really low chance and we don't see this kind of stories come true very often. Apart from that, Liverpool's situation is even more difficult. Because Arsenal and Manchester City have been doing an amazing work until this point. It means that there isn't only one serious title contender at the moment. It is very difficult for Liverpool to get past both of these beasts. But even if they finish in top 3 despite this bad start, it'd still be a nice work.
This will be a difficult task for Liverpool to try and turn the season around and be title contenders, I'm not saying it is impossible but it wouldn't be an easy task for the team. There is a low possibility of making it happen especially with the level of form Arsenal and Manchester city are on this season. It gives a major doubt that they will be able to make it happen. The only possibility I see is making the top four at the end of the season.
