1281  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: BlackRock and MSCI are facing congressional probes over facilitating investments on: August 06, 2023, 10:44:33 AM
Lol! Is US government facing a cash crunch due to not being actively involved in war and horrendous human right violation? Or it seems a new oil source is not found in any other location of middle East! Don't know! But such kind of probes usually end with a billion dollar penalty which helps no one but the government.

But I love the way US is cracking down on various businesses. Slowly it will push the big corporates out of US. Not anytime soon but definitely in the future when big corporates will consider new businesses.
Many Chinese businesses are leaving the US because of the crackdown on businesses connected to China. The trade war started by Donald Trump has been sustained by the present regime. Although this policy is reducing the influence of China on the US economy. But the consequence is that many viable businesses will have to leave the US to other countries. It's also good news to other nations that these businesses will move to.

Chinese + Blackrock doesn't sound good to US authorities, hehehe. Specially that the government of US seems to be anti crypto and Blackrock involving themselves into bitcoin could be a giveaway as to why they are going on a witch hunt.

And Lo and behold, after further digging, they could have found a connection between them and the Chinese, hence as quick as they snap their fingers, there is going to be a congressional probes. And for sure those who are going to probe are included in the memo.

This probe will definitely have an adverse effect to their proposal for the approval of Spot Bitcoin ETF. It might be a well-planned plot to deny BlackRock's request. If they are indicted, it will become a ground for the ETF denial. The public will support because it will be seen that the company is anti-US and working against national interest.
1282  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 on: August 06, 2023, 10:02:32 AM
The Netherlands vs South Africa match is going to start soon at the Allianz Stadium in Sydney, Australia. We will pick Netherlands women team as the strongest team in today's match because we know that they have very good attacking skills. South Africa women team is not that strong compared to Netherlands today South Africa won't win maybe with Netherlands women. The Netherlands women's team will certainly put up a good fight to reach the quarter-finals but South Africa may not be able to match the Netherlands even if they attack. Netherlands and South Africa are the most likely to win according to Batting Odds on various casino platforms today. Betting Odds Netherlands, @1.18 Draw @8.50 and South Africa, @12.00 South Africa might not win today's match against Netherlands. And if South Africa loses the match with Netherlands then of course they will not be able to go to this quarter final they will be eliminated.

South Africa lost the game by two goals to nothing. The game was a hard-fought one because the two teams played quality football. The two goals from the Netherlands team were a defensive blunder and a goalkeeping error. The South African defenders failed to clear their lines after a rebound which caused the first goal. The second goal by Beerensteyn was a cheap shot that the SA goalkeeper Swart would have easily stopped but she erroneously let it go into her post. Credits should be given to the Dutch goal-stopper van Domselaar for her heroic saves that denied SA many goal-scoring chances. But the SA girls will be going home as heroes for their outstanding performance in the group stage.
1283  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Empowering youths can be the quickest route to crypto adoption on: August 06, 2023, 09:20:51 AM
It is also imperative to create awareness and empower this category of people. Having said that, seeing the recently introduced Bitget Builders Program feels like the right step in the right direction, an initiative targeted at empowering youths and moulding the next generation of crypto/blockchain experts and creating a career path for them.

What do you think about this program, do you think other exchanges can introduce similar programs to drive crypto adoption?
The crypto business community has the potential of assisting people to gain some financial stability but we shouldn't make it look like a get-rich-quick scheme. The sector is highly volatile and risky so it will be better seen as a side job than a full-time job. The youths should acquire skills and qualifications that will assist them in getting jobs. With their earnings, they can set some funds aside to invest in the crypto sector.

The awareness you claim to be promoting is targeted at attracting people to use and invest in your centralized platform. The best crypto awareness is to promote decentralization and privacy. People should learn how to use decentralized wallets and platforms.

You are probably from a country where crypto adoption has reached an impressive level or where you can easily access information and can't relate with the need to educate and create a smooth entrance for youths in less informed regions. The benefits if you ask me does not in anyway suggest these builders will be exploited, they get monthly renumeration, access to high-profile industry events, indepth crypto training, career path and so on. Even in well informed regions, trainings are still conducted for newbies.
I checked the platform you are promoting and discovered that you are here for business. Bitget website is a centralized platform that offers diverse crypto services. Some of its features like discounts and referral benefits make it looks suspicious. I don't think your main purpose is to educate the youth but to make a profit. The truth is that I don't trust centralized platforms.
1284  Economy / Economics / Re: The leads of Consumption to Productions on: August 06, 2023, 08:19:04 AM
I often listen to people who understand economics in general and he always knows how to put an explanation with people around. When you ramble it means you don't understand exactly what you want to convey. So don't expect people to respond to your statement in accordance with what you expect, because you yourself don't really understand consumption and production if the explanation spreads here and there as if you've lost your way. Try to explain your theory from general to specific, then compare it with micro and macro systems because that way we can better understand your way of thinking.
The problem with some members is that there is no connection between the title of their thread and the content. OP didn't give his post a suitable title and the content was not well arranged. Nevertheless, his post intends to convey vital information about household economics. The consumption in his post relates to overdependence on parents as an adult. When an adult depends so much on his parents to provide for his needs, it leads to a consumption mentality. But when you move out of the comfort zone of the home, you can become self-dependent which OP depicts as production.

This can be related to the economy of a nation. When countries solely depend on other countries for resources, it could lead to a consumption mentality. The country will not be productive because they rely on another nation. But a nation that strives to become self-relevant will become productive.
1285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Be rich sheeple or free people, what's your choice? on: August 06, 2023, 07:47:57 AM
No middle way, no trick, no further questions, no this or that, your choice and tell me why this and not that!
Option A looks enticing because I expect my small Bitcoin holding to make me rich. But the consequence of having more is loss of freedom. And financial freedom is better than having all the money. If Bitcoin's price grows but it is highly regulated, it is like having more and owning nothing. Centralization gives the government total access and control over your coin. Just like a savings account in the bank, you can't claim ownership of funds in the bank. The government can decide to enact a law and confiscate all the funds in banks.

So I will gladly choose option B that gives me total ownership of my money. I might not have much from my Bitcoin investment, but I own and have full control over my coin. Privacy is a priceless asset. I don't want people to cheaply know how much I own because living a private life has many advantages.
1286  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Sultanate of Oman towards regulating the crypto-assets sector. on: August 05, 2023, 10:00:34 AM
All components of the Omani people are invited to participate in this national consultation, whether they are individuals or institutions, in the form of an answer to the questions contained in the draft law via an e-mail to an address belonging to the authority. The last date for accepting proposals is August 17.

Link to the draft law in Arabic and English: https://cma.gov.om/Home/EParticipation/LegislationDrafts
It is good to see that the government is asking for input from the public. This shows that the government is committed to getting a comprehensive view of the people towards the regulation of the sector. Although regulating the sector is against the philosophy of the creation of Bitcoin, there is a need to make laws to control altcoins and other crypto service providers. Without regulations, the sector will be flooded with diverse shitcoins and other services that are targeted at defrauding the public. We hope that these inputs from the public will be considered in the formulation of the main law. And these laws will not be too rigid which will make Oman unfriendly for the crypto community.
1287  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 on: August 05, 2023, 09:29:14 AM
I'll give my predictions here, let's see if I can get the results right this time after some losses

Switzerland x Spain
Japan x Norway
Netherlands x South Africa
Sweden x USA
England x Nigeria
Australia x Denmark
Colombia x Jamaica
France x Morocco

Winners in bold
What do you think guys?
Your predictions are solely based on FIFA rankings and not the current quality of these female teams. This is because from your predictions most lowly rated teams will lose their games. Relying on the ranking of these teams might not lead to good predictions. For me, I am expecting more surprises from this competition.

The match between Nigeria and England will be explosive. The Nigerian team has a good defense and they have players that can cause havoc on the English side. The English teams seem to be relying much on Lauren. If the Nigerian technical team can be able to handle Lauren James, they can come out with a good result. If she can be stopped from making runs and striking those thunderous shots, I think the other player can be easily handled. The South African and the Moroccan female team also have good potential to win their games.
1288  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is Bitcoin still Beta Software on: August 05, 2023, 08:46:45 AM
Quote
Remember that Bitcoin is still beta software. Don't put all of your money into BTC!
I noticed the quote above at the bottom of one of the first pages of the thread. I have never really thought or seen Bitcoin as beta software. It has been here for the past 14 years, and we have seen several releases in the Bitcoin core, with the latest being 25.0. Is it still beta software? If yes, how would we know that it is no longer beta software?

For the second statement, it is good advice not to put all our money into Bitcoin. What would we call people who go against this rule? Gamblers? High-risk takers, or just plain stupid. I'll bet on Bitcoin. Would you?
It is not a comment to discredit Bitcoin or to discourage people from investing in the coin. But this is just investment advice for everyone. Of course, I have total confidence in Bitcoin as an investment, but it is always better to play by the rules. Investing what you can afford to lose is the rule of the game. But if you are a high-risk taker, you can be lucky to earn more but you can also lose all.

Maybe Bitcoin become a legal tender is still experimental since only two country currently accept that, but Bitcoin itself isn't experimental anymore.
For now, it is just El Salvador that is that still accepts Bitcoin as legal tender. Last year the Central African Republic parliament made a law reversing the statute that made Bitcoin a legal tender in the country. So bitcoin is not a legal tender in CAR for now.
1289  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop Misquoting SEC and Shun media propaganda, Bitcoin remains Cryptocurrency on: August 05, 2023, 07:33:04 AM
I don't think anybody can claim that Bitcoin is not a cryptocurrency. But this misconception is coming because of SEC's position as a regulator. The SEC sees Bitcoin as a commodity and not a security. It sees other cryptocurrencies other than bitcoin as securities which means they fall under its jurisdiction of supervision. That was why they mandated Coinbase to delist every cryptocurrency except Bitcoin. This is because bitcoin as a commodity like gold, silver, and some other major agricultural products can be regulated only by Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The insinuation that bitcoin is not a cryptocurrency is just a means of separating Bitcoin as a commodity from other cryptocurrencies that are termed as securities by the SEC.
1290  Other / Meta / Re: Request: New Local Board for Pakistan (Urdu) on: August 05, 2023, 06:33:41 AM
In about 10 days' time, we will be celebrating our Independence Day on 14 August. We already are very excited about it and thinking to celebrate it on the forum too.

One of our members Gladitorcomeback has also created some nice Signatures for this special day and also we are planning to host a 14 AUGUST GIVEAWAY FOR PAKISTANI MEMBERS.

We wish if Theymos add to our happiness, award us our local board on this special occasion and give us the most prestigious gift  Smiley
Wishing the members of the Pakistan community in bitcointalk a happy independence celebration in advance. Your contribution to the forum has also increased significantly as it is now common to see your countrymen making some valuable inputs to discussions. Knowing that your community members are now about thirty-eight active users is also encouraging.

These days it is not easy to attract people to an educational forum like this because everyone is searching for means of gaining economic stability. The global economic problems is forcing most people to seek ways of getting fast money and many of them are not so much interested in learning. But getting more active members will also increase your chances of attracting the administrator to grant your request. I only wish that a local board will be an independence anniversary gift to your community.
1291  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: August 04, 2023, 08:15:51 PM
Mykhaylo Mudryk's first season at Chelsea didn't produce the performances that was expected of the Ukrainian star by the club's management and  fans and I think it was caused by the club's poor performance last season.
That being said, Mudryk has shown that he has all the qualities of a player in the preseason games so far. How he's been able to connect with Chelsea attackers has been a joy to watch. Under the tutelage of the current Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino, he'll sure have a great time at Chelsea
Last season I couldn't identify any outstanding player in the Chelsea squad because the entire team was a total mess. But these few games under coach Mauricio Pochettino have shown that Chelsea had some exceptional players and Mykhaylo Mudryk is one of them. He has the speed of a world-class winger and his skills are just wonderful. He is also an entertainer that has great control of the ball. From Chelsea's performance in this pre-season, the club will be one of the best this season. The Blues has played five games without losing anyone. And the club seems to be filled with young quality players that have the capacity to compete for the EPL title this season.
1292  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Responsibilities of hierarchy in the forum on: August 04, 2023, 07:27:38 PM
I think you are upset or angry because some high ranked member must have bashed you.
To be honest if you had read the beginning of me post correctly you'd see where I made mention of a post I saw I'm actually indirectly replying the post because it was kinda laying all burdens of newbies but actually in quite a number of way higher ranked members still have little responsibilities over these newbies ... It's a post to foster love for one another and to ensure the objective 9f the platform is upheld not to bash anyone actually sir!
Immediately you register to join this community, you are solely responsible for your actions. If you break any of the rules or you post rubbish, you will be held responsible and not the person that invited you. It is good to give the people you invite basic rules about the forum, but it is up to the person to learn more individually. Some persons were not invited by anybody to this forum, which means nobody gave them any formal or informal orientation. The rules are everywhere for you to read and you don't expect anybody to spoon-feed you. That is why before you post make sure that you are sure of the information.

Most of those were created to advise and educate newbies. I don't see it as bashing or insulting. It seems you are taking it personally. They were only told to learn more before they start giving out lectures. How will someone want to teach you how to write quality posts while his post is low standard? Or how will a newbie want to teach how to get merits, while he has little or no merits? You can not teach what you know nothing about. And I see those posts not as insults but as a piece of very good advice to newbies.
1293  Economy / Economics / Re: The American Dream. What is Your Country's Version of it? on: August 04, 2023, 05:55:17 PM
With a high unemployment rate, housing crises, increasing student debts, inflation, recession, wars, famine, high interest rates and all those factors that affect the economic mobility of many families both in America and all over the world threatening to wipe out the middle class, would we still say that  the American Dream exist? Is it still achieveable or attainable?
Many people in developing nations will gladly move to the US even with the current issues the country is facing. For them security, food, shelter, and a low-playing job is enough for them. At least in the US, the unemployed are given some stipends to meet some of their basic needs. Living in most of these third-world nations is like staying in hell. In my country, the middle class is almost disappearing because the gap between the rich and poor keeps widening every day because of corruption. For me, the American dream exists because almost everyone I know that moved to the US from my country is not doing badly financially. America rewards hard work and if you are diligent, you will be financially stable.

Quote
Secondly every country in the world has some version of their American dream, if your country does, what is its version of the American dream and does it still exist? Is it still achievable or attainable?
For the poor in my country, the version of the American dream will be survival dream. If you have enough funds to pay for house rent, buy food, and clothing, and pay medical bills and school fees, you are living the American dream. Surviving in my country has become so expensive that only a few people can afford it.
1294  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Bitcoin was stolen from Atomic wallet on the 3rd of June on: August 04, 2023, 05:18:54 PM
I write this as a hope there might be an answer , this destroyed me and I dont know where else to turn.
Anyway thankyou
Sorry if this is wasting your time.
Sorry for your loss. I also hope that you will get the needed help you need. Don't be too hard on yourself to avoid developing health issues. It is painful to lose your fund after you have chosen a wallet that is generally seen as a decentralized one. You are not to blame for the loss because you didn't put your fund in a centralized wallet.

Thankyou for the replies.
Ive been taking many of those avenues and will continue to do so.
Hopefully technology will catch up with the hackers someday.

Atomic wallet actions since the hack has led to anger and suspicion as they have not updated victims, deleted old tweets, blocked victims and continue to leave their exploited software up for users to download and use. Its a warning as you have pointed out, dont trust Hot wallets, hardware wallets are the best places to store your Bitcoin and crypto.
Anyway thankyou for your replies and thoughts.
Atomic Wallet is supposed to give victims the needed support and feedback regarding the recovery process. But their actions might raise the suspicion that this hack was done by insiders. In choosing wallets, the best option now is decentralized and open-sourced wallets.

1297  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Scammers are getting innovative. on: August 02, 2023, 01:10:15 PM
Crypto space fast-paced technological innovation to bring simplicity and add more security to human life. So scammers are also finding new ways to scam people. Do not fall for the same kind of trap if you are a moderator in any crypto project. You might lose your server and job as well.
Thank you, OP for sharing. When I was reading your thread I saw a well-planned scam setting. It was made to look like a formal employment process with little concern to suspect it was a fraud. But this experience is a lesson that everything on the internet should be treated with suspicion. Every offer is a scam or fraudulent until it is proved otherwise. Having this mindset will help one not to reduce the security standard while using the internet. I am always careful when strangers promise to pay me high sums that is hard to refuse. When I am asked to click on a link to fill a document,  I am also alert. It is better to send the information through other safe means.
1298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: August 02, 2023, 12:16:34 PM
Now @nayibbukele will not only continue to preserve nature and Bitcoin in El Salvador, but he will also continue to work to eradicate gangs that are very disturbing in El Salvador. Because when a country is filled with gangs that cause riots, of course nature or tourism lovers will not dare to enter the country to enjoy the natural beauty that is there, as well as the closest investors who might want to invite cooperation with El Salvador.

This means that any disturbances that prevent the country of El Salvador from developing will always be handled by @nayibbukele as reported by aljazeera.com in the past five days where there are 900 suspects who will be tried under the new law. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2023/7/26/el-salvadors-congress-votes-to-allow-mass-trials-in-gang-crackdown
The fight against gangs has really yielded a lot of results because El Salvador has experienced fewer gang crimes in recent times. But it has also come with a price. Many people have also been illegally imprisoned and it has also led to overcrowding of the prisons. Mass trials of suspects is not also the best form of legal procedure because each of these suspects should be tried differently for them to get a fair hearing. Nevertheless, Bukele's anti-gang policy has yielded some results which will make tourists feel more secure to visit El Salvador.

El Salvador has indeed become the centre of epic tourist attraction and the dream tourist location for most travellers who are looking for a destination to freely spend their Bitcoin and have some fun at the same time, since El Salvador's Bitcoin adoption in 2021, it has become a foundation for wider awareness of the most lucrative revenue generating sector in El Salvador which is tourism business and with eh flexibility of Bitcoin as payment which makes financial transactions to be seamlessly fast without haven't to go through the rigorous process of the traditional financial system.

So with that, El Salvador has become the top choice for tourists, and if the Bitcoin City and the volcano power project become 100% completed, that will also open up more opportunities to both El Salvadorians and visitors who will be choosing that location for their visits.
If El Salvador maintains the momentum of the enforcement of the bitcoin-project masterplan, it will make the nation the number one destination of Bitcoin enthusiasts. The tourism sector has been the mainstay economy of many countries of the world, so it will be an alternative source of income for the country. The bitcoin volcano project will also promote tourism and also create infrastructures, and employment, and promote revenues.
1299  Economy / Economics / Re: What are some financial secrets that you know of? on: August 02, 2023, 10:46:44 AM
That's a good strategy, if I'll learn more and when I become more experienced then I'll resign from this job and try to start my own business but of course not near the place of your old job in respect to it. It is also a good idea to study each area that is in line with the business to be built because its capital has a better chance of growing.
Business needs a lot of time to grow and start making a profit. So before you resign from your job you to make should ensure that you have a good saving that will be enough to take care of your needs until the business starts making a profit. Resigning from your place of employment and depending on your young business for survival will affect its sustainability and survival. You can also consider resigning when your new business has grown and can pay your salary.

Quote
You have a point there, it's good to have business partners who know how to agree with our plan. Because there will be understanding and there will be more cooperation because of this. It is also right to have agreements because it is very important for the beauty of the business that includes good plans for building their business. Because of the understanding there is a chance to have a big profit.
Partners should have the same vision for the business. And necessary legal partnership agreement should be signed by the parties involved in the business. Procedures or means of sourcing funds, roles of partners as well as the profit-sharing formula will be included in the partnership agreement. My ideal partner will be persons that are knowledgeable about our line of business especially in areas that I don't know much about.
