1281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What is the best config. to mine on the blockchain ethereum? on: November 13, 2017, 11:53:38 PM
With some friends we have 15k to set up a small mining farm. We have the premises, electricity is provided by 200 solar panels (we do this within the framework of a company). But we are trying to set up the best configuration to mine. We're not very good at material matters, so I'm here for advice.
Which graphics card is the best? (AMD it seems)
What motherboard? How much RAM?
Also, how much bandwidth will such an installation use?

On which cryptocurrency would you go first?

Thanks a lot for your reply!

I would suggest to read the mining Guru's, they have a good farm with lots of information

Hi,
Im mining eth with 4x MSI RX 580 x gaming 8gb all have the same vbios settings. Still one of the GPU are getting lower hashrate once all gpus are connected. If I have 3x GPus connected im getting 30 mh/s on each card but once I connect the 4th one of the gpus are getting 26mh/s..
I've tried to change risers tried gen1/2 Enabled 4g decoding I have PSU that can handle the GPU EVGA GQ 1000Watt 80 PLUS Gold
Im out of ideas.. Can someone please help me..

try to remove the monitor then reboot, use remote assistance or teamviewer to manage them.

first pic the miner giving power BTC/day 0.0004572 that's mean it will give 0.0004572*5800= around 2.65$ per day

second pic miner giving $1.19-$1.30 profits max

third pic showing the hash power profits up to 2.84/day
fourth pic showing the wallet that the miner making 2.14/day

so i'm sure something is wrong ! is it bug or what? no idea
so what do you think ?

Actually, computations are always based on what hashrate that has been accepted with your rig, in the picture benchmark is a bit high compared to the actual mining hash rates. Difficulty is also a factor since it is always varied from time to time

I understand what is your point
but at least the profits should be the same on the wallet online and on the miner, but it's reporting 2 different profits !

No, they are usually different as they capture different reported hashrates. gets?

what will be the same is the unpaid balance but not the profitability or reported profits as this is usually changed time to time.

1286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today's attack on Bitcoin on: November 12, 2017, 03:40:03 PM
I'm not actually trying to defend Roger Ver. But do you have any proof that he indeed moved 25k BTC to bitfinex?

I'd just came across here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/duplicates/7cefom/roger_ver_just_sent_25k_btc_to_bitfinex/

Quote
Also, how is moving 25k btc to an exchange "putting on a show" and or a "coordinated attack"?

this has been predicted since the first segwits

And how did you come to the conclusion that it's because of that transaction that bitcoin's unconfirmed transactions skyrocketed?

Fuds, ready to sell, Ready for dump, BCH price hike, miners switch to profitable coins leaving BTC. effect is your statement. oh by the way did I mention SPAMMING network?

Let's be reasonable here and not just follow/hate blindly.

WATCHDOG: GPU error, you need to restart miner Sad

I have an 6x GTX1070 STRIX miner. Core clock +99, Memory clock +600. Tried to decrease it, but no effect for now. Running 10.0 Claymore Dual eth+sia. Power is on 90% for now. Tried to change it but also no effect.

Have you previously make this worked and suddenly have an error?

seems like a driver error or miner config problem to me

Yes the rig was working about 3 days without an error at +150 core clock and +650 memory clock. But I haven't touched the config file. What should I edit inside?

I got a stable build with memory clock decreased to +540, power to 100% and the last Claymore 10.1. I still got the "incorrect share" errors but its working stable for 34 hours now.

Maybe the problem is the PSU because I got an Corsair HX1200i Platinum for my build. I'am not home at the moment, so in a month I'll buy a second PSU and then try to raise the clocks again. Still I got an average 182MH/s which is not bad. But I think I can go to 200MH/s.

I restarted it today at 36 hours, and now its crashing every 3 minutes. Its driving me nuts!

Do basic isolation, exclude all other GPU's and install only one in PCI-ex16 slot without riser, this is to mitigate PSU issue and riser issue.

if nothing happens, then second step is to clean uninstall drivers and install, we are talking about only 1 GPU here, make work with only 1 gpu when it stabilized then install the other GPU's
1289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BCH scam awareness on: November 12, 2017, 08:21:16 AM
Perhaps we cannot call Bitcoin Cash as a scam, because it wasn't swindling money from anyone, and the truth it gave an equally amount for anyone who own Bitcoin.

Yeah, they don't swindle, but if you lose your money the feeling is the same.

What ever the reason of Bitcoin Cash drastic soaring value are cannot be tell by anyone. If you own BTC during the fork, you definitely enjoying now.

The way i look at it, it is somewhat a bait, any trader can interpret it and don't bite them for long term, its an aggressive attempt
1290  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it too late to buy bitcoin? on: November 12, 2017, 08:09:52 AM
16 Million are now mined in Bitcoin. 21 Million is the total supply of Bitcoin. There are a lot of Bitcoin left so it is not yet to late to buy, Of course. Just by now don't wait for next year or the other year. Don't miss this opportunity that will change your future.

Couldn't imagine it could reach low this price today, these whales somewhat a huge one, time to buy people it was never too late.
1291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New to altcoin mining, suggetions please. on: November 12, 2017, 07:01:25 AM
Hi guys,I am new to the altcoin mining so i wanna know about which is best and profitable altcoin to mine?

Then also suggest about the hardwares and softwares needed to mine that coin.

I would suggest the other way around. to seek an answers

- what hardware suitable for you? ASIC or GPU

Search here in forum what is best suited depending on your budget and needs

- is it within in your budget?

your hardware and hashrate will rely on this

- is it profitable?

lot of online calculators out there, just understand the word 'Difficulty'

http://whattomine.com

https://www.crypto-coinz.net/crypto-calculator/

- is mining place/location acceptable/safe?

safety first, surely you don't want catching fire while mining, or heated, disturbed by noise.

- Can I manage them technically?

mining has something to do with technical troubleshootings

- is it long term?

profit long term

and lastly, just want to share this.

some 1080 ti's do 750 sols/s, right?

yep, using DSTM's miner

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2021765.0

Hi every one, quick question....

Ceteris paribus, would you use 8x Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050 Ti WINDFORCE OC 4G or 2x INNO3D iChiLL GeForce GTX 1080 Ti X3 given the price of both setups is exactly the same?
mission:equihash

cheers

GTX1080Ti is better choise in this case. There are many pros of 1080Ti but the main is much less space required for 2GPUs instead of 8 GPUs. And the posibility of future extension of your rig of course will be better if you will choose 1080Ti
Base on what i experience you can get more profitability in gtx1050ti  less power consumption and  the price is more cheaper
I don't agree with the above price about gtx1050ti i believe you can get GPU much cheaper for  gtx1050ti and for gtx 1080 those are really expensive..
The only problem you can get if you choose gtx 1080 you can have more PCI slot space than 1050ti..

GPU Hardware management is a plus, its a lot more difficult to maintain 8 gpus compared to Two
1293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 2 PSU MINING on: November 11, 2017, 02:53:30 PM
Okey...

let's say I'm trying to build rig with 3x R9 290.

now for this I could use let say 1x 500W PSU for motherboard cpu and 1xr9 290.

Now my question is : can i run the two other r9 290 with a single psu of 600 watt??

R9 290 could pull 300watts in mining at the wall

http://cryptomining-blog.com/tag/radeon-r9-290-power-consumption/

for safety 600watts psu could be possibly use if you can do some underclocks.

1295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: *BTC/BCH end-of-year prediction* on: November 11, 2017, 02:21:55 PM
My guess is BTC 3200$ and BCH 40$  Smiley

Bitcoin Cash has just processed a block of 4.7MB without any issues.

We've been told many times by Core/Blockstream that anything above 1MB is dangerous.

Bitcoin Cash clearly shows it was a big lie.

Transactions with Bitcoin Cash cost a penny; transactions with Bitcoin/Segwit cost a dollar to send.

More people are going to use Bitcoin Cash because it's so much cheaper, followed by price, followed by hashrate Smiley

I really don't get why people don't get the simple fact that if transactions are super cheap than so is spammig 8 MB or even gigabyte blocks full therefore raising fees.

There has to be a transaction fee market and there's no way around that - which is fine.

8MB blocks might still be dangerous along with the rest of the changes BCH did but the issues might not get unveiled for a long time.

I get the spamming issue. Miners can stop including them in blocks, if the fee is too low, they do the work for the network. If you want a fee market, you pay a fee and get guarantees, spammers with zero or too low fees will be priced out by higher fee txs and rejected by miners.

Bitcoin Cash didn't make any changes but raise the blocksize and it removed dangerous Segwit changes. So it is much safer than Bitcoin/Segwit if more hashrate comes to mine it. With little hashrate is stays vulnerable to 51% attacks.

But I believe more hashrate will come to Bitcoin Cash in November when it is clear that Core/Blockstream has no intention to respect the 2MB blocksize increase of the Segwit2x agreement. Until then Bitcoin Cash will be vulnerable and must hang tight.

Geez, I'd just Dig this issue, seeing how these people implement the plan so perfectly. didn't see that coming. funny.
1296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash - What is the future bitcoin on: November 11, 2017, 02:06:24 PM
BCH is $1175 as we speak.  very worrying increase.  there is clearly a huge conspiracy going on against BTC.  Huh Huh

Let them be and enjoy the show, I should order another popcorn, after seqwits2x cancellation, here we go again, what I learn from the past will surely get me going.

The statement shouldn't be applied in generally to all cards, it is a per requirement concern, your card does not specifically the same to others and so with mine, NVIDIA 1060 and 1070 has sure way more cooler than AMD 480,580, I have reference cards of these and I need to set the fans into much higher config in order to keep them a little cooler.

Hello, would i be better off using 2 GTX1060 3GB cards versus a GTX1070 8GB ? I am looking at the price and what i get in hash rate. I pay 7000 for a GTX 1070 versus 3500 for a GTX1060.... so i am trying to figure out what is better for me?

you will get a bit higher hashrate for 2x1060 versus 1x 1070, if you're considering other pros and cons other than hashrate like, hw management and heat, a single gpu is better.

Quote
And then i am obviously going for a card with 2 fans right ?
Would a Zotac or Gigabyte card be good?

Gpu brands is not really a factor, anyways, these ara good reads for 1070 and 1060

1300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PCIe Cards Working Randomly on: November 10, 2017, 12:28:52 PM
Hello, I have 3 r9 280x (Gigabyte).
- One is in case, in PCIe x16 Slot working fine

For the other two I have 2 expanders, and two slots (PCIe x16 and PCIe x1).
Because the GPUs wont fit inside and it would be overheating both must be on expanders outside case.

I tried all combinations of plugging those cards in those slots but none work as intended.

- Either only card nr.1 worked (0 - Internal, 1 - 1st external (PCIe Expander 0006), 2 - 2nd external (PCIe Expander 0007s))
- Or all showed up but system completly froze. (Only force restart helped)

Each time I swapped, it did one of those.

What can be causing the problem?
Too weak PSU (EVGA 850B, those cards have 300W TDP Each), or
Cable, expanders, or something else?

Well, seems you know that already, I bet you'd do some troubleshooting and tests, replaced higher PSU rating, and replace risers?

post your results, we have to do basics, then lets see on the higher levels.
