I've been giving away Casascius coins left and right to spread bitcoin awareness amongst my friends. I also email them links to setup wallets, check on charts, mt.gox, and of course a link to this forum. I figure the less computer savvy ones will just hang on to the coin for future savings, and the ones that understand right from the beginning will get a wallet and invest themselves. I've given away nine 1BTC coins so far.. well worth the awareness!

Anybody on here use a certain number when buying or selling, using a bot I'm guessing? I've noticed several "1337", wether it be buying .1337 at a time, or selling a huge amount at X.1337BTC or even 1337.XX BTC, 133713371337 BTC. I would love to know if it was someone on this forum, but that would be against all the anonymity thing.

Sorry, I have a fascination for being a big time player to where my bids/asks were plastered all over the books.

BREAKING:

MT.GOX KEEPING BITCOIN VALUE ARTIFICIALLY HIGH WITH OWN FUNDS

Something stinks like someone trying to induce panic to get more coins.  Link please

Why don't they just hit the PAUSE button on all trades? lol

So, here's a Q for all you professional wall watchers:

Why/how is the price going up with buy volume lagging sooooo far behind.  I don't really see any respectable volume on the buy side until $46ish.  That seems like it'd just invite selling down to volume.

Stay classy, 420. Stay classy.

I'm pretty new to this (~3 months), but I watch the wall religiously. And what I've seen lately on Clark Moody is that most of these big jumps up in price are all buys at market price, so their presence won't be shown on the bid side. It would be kind of silly to put out a bid for 5-10K BTC, right? I would think there is a chart out there that actually shows BTC exchanged @ exact price, and I sure you would see your respectable volume on the buy side for this "era".

What site do you use that shows the depth chart?

Some of that will disappear as we approach it.

True. I know that happens, but why? If you are aren't willing to sell then why put it up. Some sort of Bearish psychological stunt?

BitInstant still does MoneyGram deposits, right? Essentially the same thing other than limits, and maybe fees.

We've got some big ASkS walls to knock down before we get to 50. Think it will happen Monday?

I am one of the many waiting on BFL ASICs and will then be new to mining, and was wondering, when you find a block in your pool, you get the same amount you normally do mining or a larger reward for finding the block?

Sorry for the newb question!

My name is Mike.

I've been in the bitcoin "game" about 2 months now, and I've more than doubled my investment already. I am a long term bull who wishes to one day only have to use bitcoin. Most of my stash is in Casascius coins and bars, and I also lend some BTC on Bitfinex. I've mostly been a lurker, then wished to post in Spec Forum/Wall observer until I found out I have to have 5 posts. I guess my tidbit of information will be invalid by then lol.
