In the past we have talked about how Iguana will have its first release before Komodo ICO starts. This should convince everyone that these are not just empty words, but jl777 has coded a lot of stuff and it's working. Just now there was a GUI update from @boogieman on SuperNET Slack #iguana: The GUI update:
1. We have 0 (ZERO) tasks in To Do column for 0.1.
2. We have completed Iguana/Non-Iguana Create Account/Login Screens
3. Authorization Features and Dashboard were pushed to the repo, now we are testing it. Need code optimizatin to make it faster. Working on it.
4. Features Sending\Receiving to be delivered very soon. The devs finally done with syncs after major changes and now working on API.
5. The rest of the tasks are minor improvements.
So we are in the final phase and getting ready to test and release.
Komodo will use some of the code from Iguana, as Iguana is the low level technology that many other SuperNET projects will leverage on, i.e. atomic swaps and a decentralized exchange. So what is Iguana? Here's a quote from jl777: I will be using iguana to implement the bitcoin interfacing required in komodo. komodo is a usecase of iguana tech. iguana is the platform level codebase and so now the time is come to build things on top of that platform. dPoW is a relatively small and well defined module to complete and I will add that into a zcash fork.
Iguana is a bitcoin daemon and wallet that can sync the entire BTC blockchain from scratch in 2 hours. It also can sync over a dozen other coins, all from a self-contained codebase that I wrote from scratch. Its codesize is about 3MB and it has been ported from unix to osx, win32, win64, android and chrome app. docs.supernet.org documents its API bindings and it is now in the final stages of debug and will be used as a component within komodo. I have seen some GUI that is looking pretty good and for basic wallet function and parallel sync it appears to be working, though I do the core level code and not the GUI so I cant speak for it in detail.
What does the Iguana achieve: Iguana brings all the bitcoin compatibles into the same technical platform. Multiple coins can run through iguana, they are directly connected in a way. This makes things like Atomic Swaps possible. Send btc and receive btcd without using an exchange

I really like what SuperNET tries to achieve, as should everyone because the whole crypto will benefit  I'm not too technical person, but following what jl777 is up to has made me to learn a thing or two. A while back I made a report about SuperNET & Nxt, and that's really been my biggest achievement so far. Thus far I haven't told my real name, although I'm not really that 'anon'. I have a question about participating in the Komodo ICO, I have BTCD, will i need transfer the BTCD from an exchange to the BTCD wallet or can I do the swap from my BTCD exchange address.
Just to add, the reason why you would withdraw to your wallet is because a snap shot will be taken at the end of the ICO period. This snapshot is used to allocate the rev share for the BTCD holders. Even though exchanges should pass on the assets, i would avoid the hassle and just use a wallet you control. I assume there haven't been any announcements yet from exchanges regarding this? No, and we strongly recommend everyone to send their BTCD to a local wallet. We do not yet know when we will be able to create that revenue asset as it will require asset chains. Today we have made a list of changes we will do for the bitcoindark.com website and soon our guy will implement them. We also have made a complete guide that goes step by step the process of installing the bitcoindark-QT wallet, and sending coins from an exchange to the wallet. The guide will be published at the same time we update the bitcoindark.com website. |

That is a very good question!
I have worked with jl777 before and he is a very talented developer and I have got a lot of time form James.
I know he gets a lof of slack from people but one thing that cannot be denied is his skills: he is a very skilled developer and very skilled around blockchain. I have spoken with him about a dPoW and what I will say is we are definitely considering providing dPoW functionality on private chains.
Whatever we actually think about implementing it in the actual Stratis parent chain... Probably not but it would definitely be a very cool feature to offer on private chains. If a private chain was secured by the Stratis chain and also secured by dPoW it would actually give it a two-factor consensus model. They wouldn't be relying on just one form of consensus to validate the blockchain, but it would actually have two methods. It gives them additional redundancy so it is definitely something we are going to look into.

So all the average poloniex trader need to do is to go to this thread, jump to page 45, follow the tech instructions (and if you are not a tech user, it's time to become one) and transfer your btcd to your local wallet.
And that assumes you, as a trader on polo have heard of komodo at all.
Here's another idea: Update the btcd 1.0 wallet to work after installation, so normal users can use it too. Maybe even have a working link on the website?
If you don't, expect some serious critisism after the snapshot from users who did not know or was not able to complete the steps above.

I'll paste one question from our recent Steemit post as it's quite relevant to our topic. Why there is no real photos of the dev team on your website? The use of real pictures would boost your project's credibility further.
We are aware of that. However because part of our team is anonymous - including our lead developer - we all decided to not use full names & photos. Knowing the identity of the developers doesn't guarantee success. What we believe to be important is the track record behind a name (real or pseudonym). In our case jl777 has over the years demonstrated his capability and determination to carry on with his projects and plans. The roadmap might have changed, but the overall long term goal has been the same. He has not abandoned his projects and has stayed responsible to his past investors. Like previously explained, SuperNET has successfully developed a multiwallet and MultiGateway on top of the NXT platform. The NXT and SuperNET communities have used those service for 1-2 year and trust in its authenticity. Projects and cases like this should convince people about jl777's credibility more than an official passport picture ever could. On top of these the SuperNET has a lot of open source code behind it, that anyone can inspect. jl777 has already began the Komodo development process, and we encourage everyone to follow it and ask any questions that comes to mind! Im not sure about this, past experiences tells me the devs will quitly abandon this project after a while. Seems more like a money grab, also i suspect a guy from waves in komodo project, what happened abandoned waves?
jl777 has been on the SuperNET slack everyday for two years working hard. He has not disappeared anywhere, instead he has produced a lot of open source code. We hope you stick around and research more about us and Komodo Who is hosting the ico?

AFAIK, there are many local spammers to avoid spam-check in other campaign, because of language limit. Our campaign manager will have to identify those cases. Where do we specify if we want to be paid in BTC or in KMD ?

170 people, OP I feel massive spammers come into your campaign. you need to check their post history and refuse the spammers.
We will be going over the list during the campaign. You can be disqualified if you don't follow our rules. We had two rules, the second one was: 2) All posts must be constructive: We adopt a no-tolerance policy on spam. Users found spamming will be immediately disqualified without warning.Maybe my question will be stupid, but i think that many people was wondering about that.. If someone is trusted member - is it possible to get reward in advice.. or at least 50% of reward? ... just asking..?  We will pay it all out at the end of the campaign, so we can reduce our workload. Everyone will get paid at the same time and we won't make any exceptions. Sorry! |

Komodo development didn't start from scratch as some of the Iguana functionality is required. Iguana is low level tech build by SuperNET.
