12821  Other / Politics & Society / Re: swedish church removes crosses to make muslim illegal immigrants feel welcome on: October 11, 2015, 09:18:15 AM
Putin have to take over Sweden and save it's Christians before Sweden destroys itself.
This is not sarcasm! Western civilization is collapsing so fast that remaining Christians
must be evacuated to Russia or Russia have to take control of collapsing states.

Actually it's hard to believe that this is not sarcasm.  Smiley

Western countries have their flaws but they have them mostly because of the freedoms their citizens have. The more freedoms - the more flaws, but this doesn't mean that it's better to live under a dictatorship.
12822  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is the new bitcoin forum any good? on: October 11, 2015, 08:53:25 AM
I understand their dislike of censorship, but will you stick with bitcointalk - or go to the new forum?  https://forum.bitcoin.com/  Do you think they can get critical mass there?

This place has become a total cesspool of assholes.  Way too many trolls and idiots.  It'd be great if there was a place for quality discussion on certain topics.
This is what always happens when you have many participants and freedom of speech. So any new forum could be a cleaner place only in the beginning. And when there are many participants there it becomes "a total cesspool of assholes" like you said.

So why not just stick to old faithful bitcointalk and ignore those you don't like?

The Halvening

Spelled like this it looks like we're about to see an action sci fy horror movie. And in a way...

"It's going to be fascinating to watch as we approach the next halving. 41 weeks away right now (bitcoinclock.com).
FORTY ONE WEEKS.
That's not that far off.
Will it ignite the rocket ship? or lead to a collapse in mining if the price doesn't jump? or will we be range bound for another full year?
As other events that were widely expected to move the price come and go (from Gemini going live to the Silk Road auctions) , the halvening sits out there as The Big One.
Moon kids are already starting to hold their breath.
Bag holders are hoping that they'll be bailed out by the halving.
Buttcoiners are buttcoining
41 weeks. It's coming. And the effects of the halving may begin months prior to the actual date. It's been a fun ride so far, definitely getting some popcorn ready for the next 9 months.
See you on the other side Smiley"
https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/3o89yz/the_halvening/

Exactly! This is what is already happening: $250,3 for BTC. The rising has started! And after 9 months the child will be born, and the name of the child will be $500.
12825  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which game you like most to play gambling on Bitcoin ?? on: October 11, 2015, 07:40:55 AM
I like to play Dice. It's simple. It's fun. No strategies, no nothing, just pure luck and I like it that way. It reminds me of what life is really all about. I know some people think you should apply some strategies to make your life better, but I don't think so.
But that's me, I may be wrong of course. )

Who said there is no strategy in dice game? There is a lot of strategy, you just not found a good one yet. I ever played in one dice sites and they keep on sharing their strategy to play with X basebet you can earn X btc. But it depends on you whether you want to follow them or not

Yes there are lots of them like Martingale, Labouchère, Fibonacci etc. but none of them will work in the long run. However I think strategies will minimize your losses that's why people still use them but in the end it's still based on your luck. Luck is all you need in gambling , no methods or whatsoever

Thanks for your words! It's nice to be of one mind with somebody.

@shulio Yes, I know there are a lot of strategis, but what I meant was a working strategy, a strategy with which you always win. There is no such strategy as we all know. )

12827  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have halted all purchases paying with Bitcoin on: October 10, 2015, 05:41:11 PM
...

Recently I made a decision to just stand pat re my BTC holdings.  I had made various experiments into buying gold (from veldtgold.com here at bitcointalk) and providentmetals.com, both of them gave me good & rapid service when paying by Bitcoin.

But, my wife is less-than-enchanted with me buying more gold, so I will just HODL the rest of my BTC "pile", and wait to see what happens in the near and medium term future.

I am inclined to believe that BTC will likely go higher from here, with a lesser chance of going much higher, but I have less insight into that than many BTC veterans and experts.

So, I will just sit on the sidelines now, and cheer the BTC price on up.  If ti reaches very high numbers, I will re-evaluate my HODL, and turn them back into CA$H or gold.  In other words, my BTC are now in "strong hands", I am not going to let them go.

That's the right decision IMO.
Buying gold with BTC you are doing just like many generations before you, they all were buying gold to save their earnings. But investing in BTC, holding it hoping that the price will go up you are up to the whole new level.
Investing in BTC is investing in the future.
12828  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you wish you btc ? on: October 10, 2015, 05:18:52 PM
I wish I and everybody else in the world could buy with BTC anything.
Really, why not? It's just a matter of time.
12829  Economy / Speculation / Re: Your opinions on the halving HERE on: October 10, 2015, 05:12:33 PM
I wish bitcoin permanently will go up in price, from ~250$ to ~400$, it would be enough to make big diffirence in bitcoin world.

I agree, and if BTC will go up in price to $1k, which I wish, it would be even better.  Smiley

Let's hope our wishes will come true soon.  Smiley

But seriously I think the halving might be the reason of two alternative things:

1. Death of Bitcoin.

2. Twofold price increase.
12830  Other / Off-topic / Re: Last Movie you watch ? ( Daily thread ) on: October 10, 2015, 04:53:41 PM
The Hurt Locker (2008)

This movie is not only worth seeing because of the multiple awards, including Academy Award for the Best Motion Picture of the Year, but it's a really great movie, watched it three times with pleasure.

Some people in this thread said this already and I agree with them. Bitcoin is FREEDOM.
12832  Economy / Economics / Re: Dissertation Ideas on: October 09, 2015, 05:29:00 PM
Some economists say that Bitcoin as a deflationary currency is unusable for an economy.

I'm not an econopmist so I don't know if this true or not, but I suggest you to explore the subject. I have a feeling that it might be interesting.  Smiley

12835  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin friendly Fidor Bank launched UK operations on: October 09, 2015, 01:22:18 PM

Good news for the UK bitcoin traders. It has been reported on few occasions that some of the major UK banks have been freezing/closing accounts because of bitcoin related transactions.

No need to worry anymore, officially Bitcoin-friendly Fidor bank has recently launched its UK operations. They offer free online current accounts (no monthly fees or minimum payments in), so it's perfect for transferring money to/from exchanges etc, or just as secondary account.

I've just registered with them and will give it a try. They don't do credit checks, but require verification by letter which can take up to 12 days. Currently they don't offer debit cards, but I emailed the customer support and they'll be launching cards soon.

Link: https://www.fidorbank.uk/

There's also referral program, if anyone wants to register through my ref link, much appreciated: https://banking.fidorbank.uk/register?ibid=84309762

That's a good news! Thanks for sharing! I wish more banks were like this one.

I'm wondering why they don't say they are Bitcoin friendly on the front page though. Are they ashamed of something?
12836  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe we need more ways of advertising Bitcoin currency? on: October 09, 2015, 01:10:17 PM
Of course I do. I see some people here think that BTC has had alot of negative advertising already, but from my experience most of the people, I mean even educated people, still heard nothing about BTC. I know its hard to imagine that anybody still doesn't heard about BTC being on reddit or on bitcointalk, but take just one step outside  Smiley and you'll see it yourself.

Just one example from my life. Just yesterday I talked to a fried who studies Economy at the University and he told me that his lecturer, a professor, never heard about BTC. Can you imagine that? Professor of Economy! let alone simple people.
12837  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you feel about these situations on: October 09, 2015, 12:55:29 PM
1.Suppose you lose parley by 1 match
2.Suppose you earn little little Bitcoins by betting and make somehow 1 Bitcoin then lose it at just 1 match.
what will you do then try to recover your loss or just forget about it?

I'd just forget about it. It's a hard decision to make I know, but be strong. Many people (including me) lost trying to recover, so IMO bet for recover is a bad idea. Bet if you just want to play and then you may win, if you want make some money or you want to recover which is even worse, you'll lose most likely.

Thats from my experience, make your own decision of course.
12838  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN going up or down on: October 09, 2015, 12:46:10 PM
It was almost $250 several hrs ago. Now its $247,2. So BTC is a bit down, but my prediction $255 tomorrow.

BTC goes slowly UP. All who is selling right now will regret in the future.
12839  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dorian Nakamoto giving AMA on Reddit on: October 09, 2015, 10:27:40 AM

Thanks for the link, good rea indeed.

I'm wondering how many people not from Russia aware of Stenka Razin? I think not much. So as former citizen of the Soviet Union I'm impressed.

"We should protect Bitcoin from take over by the few. Its function should flow free as the Volga River despite the centuries of Tsars, Mongols, Vikings, Swedes, and the Communist regime rule. We need to toss out any thinking of the apparent treasure in the boat over the the river as the Stenka Razin did to keep the boat rower and citizens free. Keep the flow free and wide.
The Stenka's men were able to trust him to navigate the river and to support the poor."
- Dorian Nakamoto

I don't mean of course that was the only good thing he said. There are many. Take a look.
12840  Economy / Gambling / Re: Where are you Gambling right Now !? on: October 09, 2015, 10:14:56 AM
