12841  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Is it possible to use bitcoin like offline currency? on: December 12, 2017, 04:11:22 PM
I don't think so. It is not possible because bitcoin is powered by internet. Every transactions that is bitcoin involve can only be use with the help of the internet. Without internet you cannot get through your transactions.
Impossible to happen for now, miners confirm transactions with internet and if ever it will be an offline currency. It can be use through paper wallet but still before claiming it still needs to go through a process with internet. Well this world needs internet and we can't almost do anything without it, transactions are happening digitally with the help of it even the banks that we are withdrawing on ATM's still it requires internet.
12842  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH and LTC which is valuable ? on: December 12, 2017, 03:17:12 PM
Two weeks ago I would say that this is Ethereum. But now, holy cow, LTC showed its power and don't want to stop.
It may look that it is not going to stop but there will be a limit for it just wait for it. Though LTC reached a new ATH too at $200 before but now it's really freaking sure of $326. That's a big increase for LTC but still I would assume that it's still safe to get into both of it. They are profitable so why you would only choose one of them if you can stick to both of them together.
12843  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Bubble ? on: December 12, 2017, 02:02:09 PM
I'll leave you with the quote from Gandhi

"First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win."

This is what happened to me, when I started to get into bitcoin many people especially my friends did laughed at me. And then a year after they laughed at me, they are now started to give me some good call since they are now interested about bitcoin, they saw the price increases but I have no longer interest of talking to them.

Steam has abandoned Bitcoin, so why should McDonalds, Walmart, or whatever start to accept it all of a sudden?
Steam isn't the only company in this world, they can abandon and stop accepting bitcoin. They have a different industry and market with Mcdonalds and other companies that are willing to adopt it.

Buy and hold is my advice.

I am holding and will stay with my plans.
12844  Economy / Economics / Re: Legalizing Bitcoin on: December 12, 2017, 09:27:04 AM
To be honest in my country bitcoin is not allowed to be used as a legitimate payment instrument, maybe the government and local banks are scared if its people become all rich people.
In what country do you leave? There are countries that are stopping anyone who lives in their territory to use bitcoin. Legalizing bitcoin is a good thing for those skeptic people about it. And today there are too many bad news that are coming out of it and most of it coming from those big time financial experts that has their own agenda to do that. But countries like Japan, understands that bitcoin can help their economy.
12845  Economy / Speculation / Re: When BTC will go down on: December 12, 2017, 08:08:50 AM
Hi community, now btc is more then 15500 wha do you think - when is better to sell it? when  price will go down?
I think on the next hard fork, they say next hard fork is on Dec 15, Super Bitcoin is coming and I think bitcoin price will drop a little or down to $12k.
Enough with these forks. I don't think that bitcoin will be down by that time. People will just sell it immediately upon claiming those free coin. And take note that if you'll visit their website that this fork is just an experiment. If someone wants to sell just sell higher than $15,000 that's a very competitive rate for selling one bitcoin or if you can still wait a little bit longer wait for the first week of January, just like this year the price went good by that time.
12846  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reasons why bitcoin rapidly increase $15,000 in just 5 months? on: December 12, 2017, 07:07:53 AM
I started to be involved in the crypto currency world just this year of July and the price of bitcoin at that time somewhere $1,300 to $1,800 and I wonder why it had a meteoric rise of the price in just 5 months.  Would it will be happen to some digital coins also listed in coinmarketcap?  Is there any reasons that it was manipulated or anybody behind on how this price dramastically goes up so high?
It's possible that it can also happen into some other altcoins that are listed in the coinmarketcap. We can't say that there's a manipulation that's happening but we are many in the community that are considering that. But we can't also forget that it is just a normal increase in demand since cryptocurrencies today are starting to make their own move and popularity that was being helped also by the mainstream medias.
12847  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: bitcoin value will now stabilize around 16k? on: December 12, 2017, 05:47:47 AM
I noticed the price of bitcoin and saw that it varied around 16k $
So now my question is that whether the bitcoin value will have a minimum of 16k$,and increase till the year end or would it again drop significantly below 16k$.

No one can give you a guarantee that the minimum or floor price of bitcoin now is $16,000. Don't assume too much because this price is still not that stable and it can go lower depending on the movement of it's price. When it comes to increase, there can be no guarantee that at the end of this year it can go up but that's what everyone is saying but still no one can give us assurance for that thing. But if bitcoin is stable at $16,000 then so be it, that's a better floor price.
12848  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoins speculation for 2018? on: December 11, 2017, 11:51:31 PM
I wouldn't go beyond $25,000 for that year even though there are speculations that are coming that says it will go at $40,000 - $100,000 by that year. I want to become more realistic and will don't put my standards and expectation too high. That will be the best speculation for my price and will just forget those high speculations but if these people who are giving high value for their speculations were right, there's no regret for expecting a very low amount.
12849  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin or Ethereum? on: December 11, 2017, 11:40:02 PM
For long term holding bitcoin will be the best choice of them all. Not comparing to ETH or any other altcoin, if you'll stick to this plan of holding for longer time then you should be prepare for the bigger goals that is starting to rotate on your mind.

Etherium is the 3rd strongest coin after Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash.
Check the coinmarketcap.com ethereum is the next strongest coin to bitcoin and is listed #2 while bitcoin cash is number 3.
12850  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ☃☃☃ The .01 Theory ☃☃☃ on: December 11, 2017, 11:26:36 PM
The fees to sell or transfer this .01 BTC is getting absurdly expensive and will continue to rise. My theory is the fees will become so high that most people will just hold onto their BTC rather than sell.
Include me to these people, I'd rather let some of my bitcoin sleep on any exchange rather than paying those fees but the risk is really high because it can be gone anytime. But the fees are really giving me some regret when I press the send button. I want to save some and bitcoin isn't really the same as before, it's value increase and as well as the fees of it.

The transfers will take longer and longer to confirm and everything will get "stuck".

You said it, a lot of complains are coming out now that their transactions are stuck for more than 10 days.
12851  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price could exceed $100,000 by 2018, says trader on: December 11, 2017, 10:49:33 PM
Hmmm.. that's not really quite a lot to say but we have to see it first on what will be the first quarter of 2018 will be going through. If there is a positive movement and increase that will be seen during those times, then that's going to be one of the reason to believe on this. Personally I only want it to be stable at $20,000 but if this is plausible and will become true, bring it on.
12852  Economy / Economics / Re: The $1 Million Dollar Bitcoin on: December 11, 2017, 10:35:20 PM
We're heading there, impossible price speculations are starting to become reality in bitcoin. Going back to those years, no one did see that bitcoin come to this point that we are having 1 bitcoin at a very expensive rate of $16,000. $1,000,000 is possible as there are too high speculations that came out early this year and it has been said that it will be reached few more years from now on. When those people who are holding tons of altcoins that makes it market cap high and just recently jumped to bitcoin, it will happen.
12853  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 15k to invest - how would YOU spread it on: December 11, 2017, 10:04:06 PM
20% in Bitcoin
Bad idea of putting 20% only to bitcoin. I'm even in the state of betting it all to bitcoin and will just sit while watching all the things that are happening to it right now. But as for spreading, here are some my of picks for that budget of $15,000.

1. Bitcoin - 50%
2. ETH - 20%
3. LTC - 15%
4. Monero - 15%

It's few but if you'll take time to see the movement of these two you'll be enough for it, though I didn't include some of the coins that are also interesting.
12854  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin on: December 11, 2017, 09:39:58 PM
Do you think Bitcoin will be down more? Now price 13708.00 ...  Huh
Look a day just passed and do you see on what's the price of bitcoin now? It's now $16,410 and that was a real quick increase for bitcoin. I don't think it will go down for some more at this moment since bitcoin futures are already in it's own market now and I believe that this will give bitcoin a good feed back and reaction for it's price. And I do see that bitcoin can get a higher value for the next weeks and also for the year of 2018.

It's just a normal thing happen on bitcoin, everytime the bitcoin price go down, 1-3 next days the price coming back to the top again. I think people called it a correction. It's time for the bitcoin price go up again with never look down again, to the moooonn!
If you observed bitcoin's movement since then, well you will notice this thing. Not all the time the price will go up and it's even obvious that not all of the time the price will be stable in falling down. And you know what, the price is moving up again, it's already close to $17,000 so with these movements bitcoin is really giving us a lot of chance to buy back before it goes to the moon. Whom are the people here that took the profit and also took time to buy some more?
12855  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in 2018 on: December 11, 2017, 09:30:41 PM
Where you see the bitcoin in 2018?
The same thing will just happen for this year and also for 2018 but there is something interesting with an interview I watched with John McAfee, he said that be prepare for something like war against banks and regulators. I can't remember the whole thing but it sounds like that and that makes sense since bitcoin is starting to become popular and many of investors are jumping to it and storing their wealth and treats it as investment.

I read some writers who are considered to be specialists in bitcoin  and the ones written here include  ideas that Bitcoin will show a rise until 2019. The reason is that Bitcoin's advertising will be high this year and new investors will trigger price increases.
This will happen too for sure since there are well known people in financing that said bitcoin will reach $40,000.
12856  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm donating 25 Bitcoin to good causes this Christmas. Join in and give Bitcoin on: December 11, 2017, 10:14:37 AM
Nice Dean, I'm not that rich enough but you are very generous donating that sums of bucks out there.

Trust is an important ingredient, so I think Game-Protect (https://game-protect.com/donate/) deserves some help to continue the fight and to help players to recover their funds from various gambling platforms which are scamming players and running illegal activities.

I would highly recommend Game Protect, https://game-protect.com/donate/, are extremely responsive and do their best to help the players!
Both of you are newbies and just posted here at the same time? I doubt it Dean will be giving you out any amount of donation but still nice try. I can't suggest an organization or group that you should send but consider those interesting projects or organizations that are really helping the needy from depressed areas. You will be in history Dean! Keep it up!

12858  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did you ever convince or encourage someone to invest in Bitcoin? on: December 11, 2017, 09:19:08 AM
Have you ever convinced or encouraged anyone to invest in Bitcoin and did you have success?
I did taught some people but I didn't encouraged them to get into bitcoin and they are my own preferred statistics that I gather base on their interest with bitcoin. And that made me eager to let them understand how do bitcoin really works since here in my country there's a rival against bitcoin's good and bad purpose that is being covered by the medias and the dominance of articles are all about bitcoin is being a scam and other things that make it's reputation bad. I didn't encouraged them to invest, I let them chose their own path according to their will.
12859  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin loses all its value what will happen to altcoins ? on: December 11, 2017, 09:02:39 AM
Do you think altcoins can survive without bitcoin leading the way ?
Some will survive but not all of them will. Those altcoins that has great community and valuable asset to the crypto world are the ones that will survive even without bitcoin. The ones that has real use or those coins that are valuable to a company and mostly relying their services there. But majority of them are riding and relying to bitcoin's lead.

will the bitcoiners that lose faith go into altcoins or will they
just cash out and take profits ?

Majority will just hold their bitcoins whatever sequence or scenarios will take place.
12860  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook & Google creating its own Cryptocurrency! on: December 11, 2017, 08:21:11 AM
Your thoughts on Facebook and Google creating its own Cryptocurrency. I know BTC is the pioneer in cryptocurrencies and currently has the highest value but if this two giant companies will release their own cryptocurrencies I don't think anyone would want miss that. Its not impossible right? Similarly Other companies like twitter & Youtube and even UBER can also dig into cryptocurrencies. If major companies can consider BTC as their main cryptocurrency, BTC value will definitely skyrocket.
We don't want to miss that but if they are really for crypto's they'll probably adopt the technology of blockchain itself. When they started to make their own crypto's, they have freedom for doing it so but don't expect that it will be the major currency of all since they have made it for their own service still people will stay to bitcoin which is the most used crypto of all. Many companies did and even countries did this of making their own cryptocurrency but where are they now? They only add another bunch of altcoins.
