12881  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Saving Bitcoins for your Children. on: October 27, 2017, 10:04:50 AM
It's like inheritance for our children, nothing bad if we will help them to save for their future. But don't mention it to them that we've got something for them with bitcoins that's saved for them. We know that kids are quite naught and if they know that there is something for them, they'll totally be confident and will use that money for sure. Teach them while they are children that bitcoin will be the future of money and investments but as I said, don't let them know that you have saved bitcoins.
It can serve as a surprise if our child is old enough. I feel happy if I can see my child can live happily because they can get what they want. In the future Bitcoin could have a high price value and this could make us call bitcoin a treasure. and do not forget to explain how to open an account that we have, maybe I would be more confident if storing it in an offline wallet, so we just save the confg file and tell the password in a piece of paper.

Yes it may serve as a good surprise when they get older but just don't really get excited to tell them. No one wants to see their child living in miserable life and having a lot of struggles dealing with financial matters that's how parents are living for their children. I'm not yet a parent but I know on how the feeling of a parent because I felt it on how they raised me up until now I'm with them. But they didn't showed me any assurance that I will have a good life depending on them. Explanations can be easy when the right time comes.
12882  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Supermarket Accept Bitcoin on: October 27, 2017, 09:51:03 AM
I dont think a big industry or a size of super market is accepted crypto in mass adoption yet. I hope we will see something like this soon and will be using it for real purposes.

The only supermarket I know that's leading is Walt Mart but I don't have any news if they are going to adopt and accept bitcoin. It's going to happen and we'll see it that many supermarkets are going to accept bitcoin. Today they might not consider it as the population of bitcoin is still not that considerable for their business but once we've exploded up to 20%-50% of total world's population for sure there will be a consideration for those big leading supermarket or retailing companies.

Still since people will be paying in a physical shop more problems will probably rise e.g. fees and confirmation time, sufficient knowledge on staffs as bitcoin should be at least equally convenient as traditional payment systems so an increase of users may not be enough furthermore most governements are not in good terms with bitcoin but we'll see on the coming years as there will be changes although lets just hope it'll be good.
The confirmation time is a big concern for all the people and also to the supermarket companies that wants to try out bitcoin for their payment. The problem lies down to the network, they have to consider and see it first that there will be no troubles to face when they started to adopt bitcoin. But just like the way we transact, when we send bitcoins already to someone we have to wait for its confirmation and when it's recorded on the blockchain that's already good written there then that can be considered.

12886  Economy / Speculation / Re: After 6,000$ When will have 6,500 on: October 26, 2017, 02:48:03 PM
When do you expect to get 6,500$ price

I hope that it will be reached this year but I don't want to expect too much. But as I expect $6,500 will be possible to be seen on the mid year of 2018. Maybe on June 2018 but still we know that the wave of bitcoin's fluctuation is very great in movement and it's very possible to be seen anytime. I'm focusing more with long term goals and I want to see bitcoin at what everyone's has been expecting and that is $10,000.
12887  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: What is the best bitcoin web wallet? on: October 26, 2017, 02:02:40 PM
I used Coinbase and it is good for me recommended it

I never used coinbase but it's one of the best exchanges that you can use for transferring your bitcoin > cash > bank account transfers.

As a Filipino, I would suggest coins.ph.
Yes coins.ph is the best exchange on the Philippines and we are using it for transferring their bitcoins to bank accounts and so far it's the leading exchange in the Philippines. Every country does have their local exchange that is dominating in the bitcoin to cash transfers.
12888  Economy / Services / Re: $25,000USD reward for help : Stolen Bitcoin funds on: October 25, 2017, 10:53:13 PM
https://www.myetherwallet.com/ is very dangerous, better use metamask or any other ether wallet like parity where you can protect yourself from phishing attack, I believe https://www.myetherwallet.com/ is the most phished website right now

really sorry for the loss hope you still be able to gain back confidence to get back that amount from trading or anything

Its just about phishers because they are changing the name of it that is looking like MEW. And for OP even though how big the reward is, we know that bitcoin/ETH transactions aren't reversible. If you know that someone whos close to you, you have to make your own investigation.
12889  Economy / Economics / Re: BlackRock Chief: Bitcoin is a Bubble on: October 24, 2017, 10:50:51 PM
A bubble you say, a valuable bubble, you should ask JP Morgan related the profits he made from crypto. The value of bitcoin will evaluate considering the markets but i don't believe it will become 1$ or 100$. Out there we have to many projects based on blockchain technology

I doubt it he will disclose on how much he made after spreading a FUD with the entire bitcoin ecosystem.

As long as they continue to create substantially more fiat money every year, there will be more money available to buy bitcoin and this will drive the price upwards.

I can't understand what he means with bitcoin has no fair value right now? If you purchase for $6,000 today then you can buy or pay things for $6,000 and this is fair.

It will likely going to happen because it's a need for a entire economy to product if there's a need. He just didn't understand what "fair value" means bitcoin has it's own value depending on the market and it dictates it how much it costs.
12890  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Dips Below $5,800, While Ethereum Recovers Beyond $300 on: October 24, 2017, 10:30:25 PM
https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/bitcoin-price-dips-below-5800-while-ethereum-recovers-beyond-300/

Who believes that Ethereum, and altcoins, will rally after the Bitcoin fork is over?

I do, most of the traders that will gain profit after the fork will be divesting it to different alt coins mostly with ETH. Look at the charts of the coinmarketcap.com today almost all of the alt coins are healthy, good and green. And after these traders does have enough profit again they'll be jumping back to bitcoin to gain another profit so it can lead the price of bitcoin go up higher again. But this Segwit2x is really something that gives me a crunch to my heart.
12891  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BEWARE Fake BTG Wallets Flooding Market on: October 24, 2017, 10:17:05 PM
be careful, with all these fake google ads and other links promoting BTG Wallets

wait for a post by a trusted bitcointalk member

DONT WANT YOU TO LOOSE COINS

Surely they will come and going to take the advantage of bitcoin gold wallets since there are so many claimers that wants to get their free BTG. Just secure yourself, don't download something that you don't know and don't ever try to put your private keys into those wallets that are asking for it without further notice that wallet you'd downloaded is trusted and recommended by the community. Since up until now there's no update coming from bitcoin gold website itself on how to claim it.
12892  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How to get accepted to signature campaign? on: October 24, 2017, 10:01:34 PM
Isn't "Legal" one of the "good" boards? It is under the main Bitcoin Discussion board and directly related to Bitcoin? I thought that the excluded boards were the off-topic ones?

It's a good board but signature campaign managers does have their own preferences. Most of the campaign's are counting any post from that board but they do prefer to see their participants to post on different boards because signature should be visible all over the forum so the advertising for the company you are enrolled with shall be effective. And not only the off-topic boards/sections are the ones that mostly excluded, don't forget about the investor-based games and games and rounds boards.

And as a company, you really don't want your product to just be in one place. To advertise is to at least spread the product, so it kind of defeat the purpose of campaigning. The areas that managers are not allowing are blocked because it is too common and most investors or anyone who is finding a good altcoin  do not really go in those threads and mostly they are found in some bitcoin related topics.

There are companies that has target of viewers and that's why there are also some translation for each projects that are coming out. But this is rare now to have those posts that will stay on the same places but it's better to explore the whole forum and look for those threads that will catch up your interest and you know how to answer accordingly.

Doesn't demanding that an applicant wear the signature simply to apply result in applicants working for free? If I apply a signature before I am accepted, then that signature campaign gets free advertisement on every post that I have made until I notice that they rejected me and I remove the signature. Seems like a nice set-up they have going with that requirement
It's a requirement for some but there are also that doesn't require it unless you've been accepted. You have to be accepted by the manager before getting paid so if you post without notice of acceptance, yes it's a free advertisement but does that matter to you?

12894  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: what disruptive technology can affect bitcoin? on: October 24, 2017, 09:34:33 PM
In the era of disruptive technologies, which has seen the creation and ... the fall of the great scheme Ponzi will affect the way people look at Bitcoin, especially in Nigeria.

Not only in Nigeria but in every part of this world that are into crypto. The saddest thing that happened to me is when I talked to somebody about bitcoin and the first word he did mentioned was "scam" "ponzi". We know that there are a lot of HYIP's / doublers / cloud mining that are scam and I guess my friend was just a victim of it but I more concern about his belief about bitcoin now that it was just a scam and his not willing to listen again to me with this topic.
12895  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold is useless on: October 24, 2017, 09:15:46 PM
All the Bitcoins are useless. I did a transaction today in BTC and paid 2.50 in fees, it took 40 minutes. It's a ponzi scheme, not a store a value. You can't have a value stored in something useless.

What? Bitcoin now is a ponzi scheme? All the what? All bitcoins are useless? Then you shouldn't be here if you are saying that thing, you are transacting with bitcoin and you are frustrated just because you paid $2.50 fees to  get confirmed? Bitcoin gold, bitcoin or any other alt coins does have their own use except those truly nonsense coins that are just nuisance in the market cap of cryptocurrencies. And before transacting you have to know what are the recommended fees, then next time if you don't want to wait for 40 minutes add some more fee.

This is very alarming for those who hold Bitcoin just to get Bitcoin Gold. BTG price is dropping very quick so useless for those who hold their bitcoin just to get BTG.

It's still early to say this.
12896  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The reason why I hate BITCOIN on: October 23, 2017, 08:59:20 PM
All alt coins have potential but investing money to altcoins are risky. Bitcoin is going up and up. Thats why I love bitcoin.

No, I don't consider all alt coins have the potential some of them are real and most of them are fake. No real support from the developers as they just want to earn from the ICO this applies for the upcoming coins. For the old ones there are promising one and being supported by the community.

I was asked by a friend why I don't promote Bitcoin { why i hated it} but love promoting altcoins. My reply was that Bitcoin can't give me 1000-5000% ROI in 2-3years time anymore but with altcoin that is possible.
-snip-

I don't hate promoting bitcoin but I hate those people that I told about bitcoin and ignored me at first glance and now they are boasting me their bitcoin profit. I stopped promoting because of these people and I don't want to be embarrassed again.

Promoting bitcoin to others is useless when they are not interested about the topic discussion. And Some people are insecure when you are told them about of your profit from bitcoin. So good for you is to stop promoting bitcoin to others.

That's the reality that your efforts will be wasted if you keep on promoting to the wrong people. But once you landed to those people who are really interested on bitcoin, you'll never get tired of promoting it. I've been with that feeling that I'm talking to the wrong people and they never appreciated the effort that I'm doing for them just to teach them about bitcoin. But they have regretted that feeling when they started to see the price soaring high but I'm not regretting them to ignore them for now.
12897  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Would you use crypto-currency to buy appliances? on: October 23, 2017, 08:47:14 PM
Thanks for the reply, Tim.  Precisely why we are looking to go this route.  More and more people are holding BTC and it is growing at a crazy pace...  If we overlook this trend we are letting $$$$ pass us by!

Just go with the flow and as you said you are for the innovation and bitcoin will be your instrument to make that $$$ in your company's stock. But make sure that this is something that isn't just for the profit but for the service. It's good to have some this type of service and I don't know if you'll be the pioneer on this type of industry. How are you going to adjust with the price movement of bitcoin and with the fees? Are you going to set the prices relatively to the value of bitcoin or it is as it is with it's pricing to bitcoin (i.e. 0.005 BTC for life).

Quote
Interesting, just believe on this and for sure you'll be one of the most popular image hosting after a year, a couple of years. If you'll put a lot of dedication for your work you'll be harvesting it on the right time. As long as you want to give satisfaction to the users for sure there will be a lot of followers will be getting to your website. Donating option is also a good one, this is a normal thing that has been asked by many services that doesn't really asking for revenue to sustain their operation.

@blockman: We launched IMGSU and ICP with this belief. Smiley
Certainly, we are not rushing into any promotion, we want to grow slowly and steadily. Our users should enjoy using both platforms. Well, we have kept our donation option open for anyone interested. However, we are not relying completely on donation. We are continuing to fund these projects and upgrading/adding new features.

If anyone have a feature request, please use IMGSU contact form. We listen to every request and try to implement the best ones at the earliest. Smiley

Kind Regards,

Definitely you are in a good plan that you should execute and you are doing it on the right timing and proper execution. Just like the famous quote that slowly but surely, I admire your decision and on how you did planned well on this website that you published. There's nothing more that I can say to you but I'm going to be one of the people that will be using IMGSU. So long, I'm wishing you all the best Dimitri and to all of your team/staffs that are involved on this piece.

12900  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens when bitcoins are lost on: October 23, 2017, 08:17:18 PM
When you loses wallet, it has the effect of removing money out of circulation. Lost bitcoins still remain in the block chain just like any other bitcoins. However, lost bitcoins remain dormant forever because there is no way for anybody to find the private key(s) that would allow them to be spent again. Because of the law of supply and demand, when fewer bitcoins are available, the ones that are left will be in higher demand and increase in value to compensate.
It's true, I think your title is quite tricky it seemed to be asking but you have the right information on what really is happening to those lost bitcoins. And don't forget about those people that are intently sending bitcoins to those wallets that aren't inactive and that's what we call burning of bitcoins (Correct me if I'm wrong). This is also happening to make the supply lesser that will make the demand higher that which is likely to lead the price of bitcoin to become higher too.
